There were at least five sets in the bundles that they threw back here once the season was over with. I was trying to separate them and had only made it through three light of the bundles. "Out of all the advancements in technology that's been put into decorations, they couldn't work something with these?" I mutter.
Malachite snickered, "They do, just have to pay for it." I grumbled as I found something silvery in the mix. Once I pulled the lights from it, I found that it was an old set of cuffs. As we now all go to try to figure it out the other cuffs loop around our own wrists, shocking us all.
"How the...what the...?" I begin as I feel the metal secured around my own wrist. "That's when I find a piece of paper on the floor that I just instinctively know will help out with this. "What is it?" Malachite asks me as he's trying in vein to pull them free from his wrist to. "It's instructions." I tell them getting gruff as I read further, "Enlighten us." Nephelite remarks, "Rule one, don't play with the cuffs." all men looked annoyed and steamed as I am, "Rule two, if rule one is ignored..." I had to take a breath now.
I was getting that pissed, "If rule one is ignored one must find the key to unlock the cuffs or option two, one must go after what they desire the most. Only then with the cuffs unlock by themselves. Failure to follow these two rules will result in being locked in the cuffs and no force made by man can break them." we all look to Jadeite, "Why did you put them on to begin with?" Zoisite asks as Jadeite looks towards him.
"Poor judgement obviously." as he tries to pry them off, "We need to do something." he starts to look around for something to use as I see no other words on the little slip of paper. "Well these need to be able to come off. Look for the key." I start trying to look around but find myself stuck in place as the guys look at me, "What?" I ask, "Are you kidding me? You expect us to find a KEY in the middle of THIS?" Malachite indicates around us.
It really is still pretty bad in here and a single key would take days to find as we are now, stuck cuffed together as we were, "Like THIS?!" he pulls the cuffs up forcing all of our wrists up, "Fine I get it, what's your idea?" We stand there for a few minutes before I remember, "I have some bolt cutters in the storage unit in the basement of my complex." they look to me in suspicion, "What? Nephelite says as Jadeite protests, "Wait a second here, if these things are destroyed that could be my job!"
Malachite gets into his face, "Jadeite, I have a date with Minako in..." he looks to his phone with his other hand, "Seven hours...I'm not taking you all with me for that." Jadeite caves, "I'll start looking online for a new job." Malachite merely rolls his eyes towards him as we all head out the backdoor to my building. It's a hell of a walk as we look ridiculous trudging along together on the sidewalks.
We decide to take the park the most we can as its fairly empty. When we get to my building however there happens to be construction out front. We try to use the backdoor only to find its being blocked by the garbage men. Going back through the front I wave with my free hand to the security guard who gives us a 'what the hell?' expression as we get into the elevator. "At least its just us in here." Jadeite tries only for one of my neighbors before the door closes to step inside pushing several of the guys back.
