Drabble 318

Mamoru POV

I never thought I'd have fun with this herbal crap ever. Yet Zoicite and I were getting pretty good at the proportions while Malachite was working with Jadeite closely to make sure there were no screw ups. We'd been at it for hours to memorize how to put them together and proportion them out accurately. Just as the day was about to end as Malachite and I had a double date tonight, a night at a club that both girls were excited for, that's when we heard the, "It's not wrong!" from Jadeite. We both turned around.

Nephelite was currently on a date with Makoto that he couldn't cancel out on again so we relented on him. Turning around though we saw Jadeite putting in a few herbs and vials as Malachite looked stressed now, "I'm telling you you're messing it up. This formula isn't calculated correctly." he told him as Jadeite appeared just as stressed from having Malachite breathing down his back.

"Look..." he turned to him after depositing the last few herbs in there, "You may be an expert swordsman, training Endymion, now Mamoru, and you may be a good strategist but this is MY field of expertise and in this equation – uh oh!" just as Jadeite was at the pinnacle of his rant the smoke started up making him and Malachite both back up a foot. "This is bad." he grabbed the large vat and went to go put it across the room.

I was suddenly glad that I rented out a room for us to work out of, saving me the hassle of trying to find a place at the university that wouldn't cause suspicion of our conversations in case someone wanted to walk in unannounced. "This is very bad! Open the door!" the smoke kept coming up as we all started to scramble to help now. I got to the door first as Malachite got there secondly, helping Jadeite with the vat.

It was fairly large especially with the herbs and liquids now inside. Malachite then asked, "How much longer till this thing explodes?" Jadeite snapped at Malachite as he and I were both loading it outside the door, "We have plenty of t - " both Malachite and myself got blown away by about a small foot as the smoke was pungent as hell. "Damn!" I covered my nose as I stood up and saw to my utter horror both myself AND Malachite were going invisible.

The last thing I saw was his outraged face as he saw what was happening to the both of us. I had already been through this once before so I was just highly agitated and annoyed that once more I had to figure things out for my date tonight. Malachite on the other hand was being pried off an oxygen deprived Jadeite as he was currently trying to choke him. "UNDO THIS!" was his invisible bellowing voice.

"Malachite I get your pissed but he's beginning to turn colors!" Zoisite shouted trying hard to grapple onto him and not laugh at the same time. Jadeite is hitting him away and finally after much struggling both are able to pry invisible Malachite off of him. Zoisite is using himself as a human body shield since he can't see Malachite's next move. "I'll get to work on it right now." he agrees as he grabs a new vat and starts to find all the herbs and liquids to try to figure what went wrong and undo it at the same time.

"The hell are we going to do we have double dates tonight?" he grouched at me, "I have a plan for that. Similar to what I did for Usagi last time but with a few added tweaks since this is a double date." I can't tell if he's agreeing to it so I ask, "I need verbal confirmation Mal. I can't see your reaction." I tell him, "Fine. What's your plan?" he gruffly demands as he adds, "Cause the girls cannot find out that Jadeite messed up...again."

Usagi POV

I get a message from Mamoru that there's been a change to our double date. Both Minako and I are studying right now, we figured it'd be easier to get some in since we were going to be to busy later on to do any. So, when the text came in that instead of clubbing it was going to be an intimate dinner at Malachite's place and that there would be new fanciful foods for us to enjoy we actually jumped at the chance.

"As much as I love the club scene, I'm kinda glad to reign it in this evening." Minako says which does shock me a tad. "Really? What makes you say that?" I ask, "Cause the clubs are getting to high with their liquor prices, and that's IF you can get your fake ID past the bouncer. Then there's the added fact that the last few times I've gone to clubs I wind up smelling like sweat and smoke after I leave." she has a distasteful expression on her face.

I don't buy it though, "Let me guess Malachite gets social anxiety in crowded places like that and hates to see other guys try to dance with you?" she looks to me, "Yeah..." she caves, "The last two places we went to he almost decked a drunken idiot for trying to grab my rear. I was prepared to let it go but he wasn't. If it weren't for the promise of sex at the end of the night he'd have been sitting in jail for assault." we both nod to that one.

"So going over to your lovers place is going to be key then. I wonder what type of exotic foods they'll have there?" I wonder aloud. "First off lover? No, its boyfriend. "I hear that." we both giggle as the time passes on enough for us to get ready for our dates. As we get dressed up I wonder something. This reminds me of the last time a last minute change was made. When Mamoru was turned invisible, but that can't be the case now. I mean what are the odds that the same stuff happens to the same guy twice? Besides Malachite is with him there's definitely no way this time.

When we arrive there we are told from the next room to put on the blindfolds. This is already feeling familiar. I look around as Minako happily puts hers across her eyes and go with it myself, "Tonight ladies you will be experiencing a pleasure of the senses." its then that I feel Mamoru come up from behind me as he escorts me to my seat and Minako I can hear gets the same treatment from Malachite.

We proceed to eat the food as I'm so entranced by the flavor pallet I'm not paying attention to how familiar this is seeming to be. I can't help but comment alone with Minako about how delicious the food is as we eat. Once our plates have been cleared away, something that I found sweet we get escorted to the center of the floor. "Now were going to add a little bit of fun by dancing. Slow dancing." Malachite says as both is practically cooing at the idea. I feel Mamoru take me by the hand as he pulls me into his form.

The slow dancing is at the song 'where have you been' by sunshine anderson as we both fall in sync with our boyfriends. The reliance of sight now gone we have only the touch and feel of the evening to guide us and its quite a sweet experience for us both. I can easily hear how much everyone is enjoying the dancing. I can also tell that this is a great way to see how well a couple can react to each other as it relies on trust.

That alone is making me feel even closer to Mamoru than before and for once the trust isn't life or death but in the sense of trusting him to be there for me in something so simple yet a requirement of something that some might call far more important. The trust of a man's love to his woman and the trust she has in him as she returns that love in kind. Mamoru spins me around as I fall easily into his strong grasp.

I can almost feel confident enough to try to take the lead but let him keep it as he spins me around and lowers me into a sensual bow. His lips briefly linger on the center of my chest as the dress I'm wearing lowers just a bit during the move. "You are amazing looking." I smile, "I thought you'd like the dress." I comment as I feel his hands begin to move around me in a not so subtle gesture of intimacy.
