Chapter 120

.

The Ambassador was able to negotiate with Wilson Fisk for Danny Rand, Matt Murdoch, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage to surrender themselves to their enemies. There was however one catch, each hero was allowed to surrender themselves only to their specific enemy. It also had to be done in different sections of Antarctica, significantly away from civilian populations. Fisk was not stupid, he knew that the heroes hoped they could reason with their old "friends." But, he saw this as a good compromise, and he felt that the anti-defenders wouldn't be able to resist their vengeance.

.

Trish showed up at the designated spot to find Jessica Jones, alone.

.

Trish: Hello Jess, long time no see.

Jessica: Yeah, how've you been?

Trish: Well, after you sent me to the Raft, I bonded with Willis over our mutual hatred of certain "heroes." Then millions dissapeared in an instant, noone on the Raft, but some of their loved ones. When fire came to the world, these soldiers just fled, protecting their priosners wasn't really a priority. Funny how you didn't come for me.

Jessica: I did try to save you.

Trish: Not hard enough! I noticed you got out in time.

Jessica: There wasn't enough time to get to you, I could only save myself. I'm sorry.

Trish: I thought the Raft was Hell, then I actually went to Hell. Bad as it was I feared worse, so I joined Willis, Elektra, Davos. We got what we could in that world, still wanted revenge though. I figure I kill you, you'll go to Hell, feel some of what I felt. Maybe later we can be on the same team again.

Jessica: This isn't you.

Trish: This is me after the Raft and literal Hell. We were friends, sisters, and you betrayed me.

Jessica: You crossed the line.

Trish: And you think you get to decide what that line is. Way I see it, I owe you some pain.

Jessica: You're right.

Trish: Excuse me?

Jessica: Whatever pain you think I deserve, take it right now.

Trish: What kind of trick is this?

Jessica: No trick. Do what you have to do, to take us back to even.

.

Trish thought this might be a trick, but she couldn't resist her revenge. She started hitting Jessica, to her suprise Jessica did not fight back or resist.

.

Willis Stryker found his half brother Luke Cage waiting for him, alone.

.

Willis: Long time no see brother. I don't think we've seen each other since you sent me to that sneak preview of Hell.

Luke: You tried to kill me, did kill a lot of people.

Willis: Yeah, thought I could be the biggest gangster in Harlem. But then I find out that my little brother, the good brother, apparently wanted that title for himself.

Luke: I didn't plan on that, but at the time it seemed like the best way to keep the peace.

Willis: "A tyrant will always find an excuse for his tyranny."

Luke: That's from an old Aesop fable.

Willis: One of the few times dear old dad tried to show me how to act.

Luke: He wasn't a good father to me either. And yet somehow we end up fighting amongst ourselves. I'm done fighting my brother. You want to make me suffer, do what you have to do.

.

Elektra met her beloved Matt Murdoch alone.

.

Matt: I have to ask, did you survive that building falling on us?

Elektra: No.

Matt: I always thought, maybe that was just wishful thinking. I was nursed back to health by a nun, who turned out to be my mother.

Elektra: Hope you made up with her for abandoning you.

Matt: Yeah, she was raptured. So why do you want to kill me?

Elektra: Then we both go to Hell, and we can be together forever.

Matt: You always were a romantic. But maybe, we can be together, without the violence.

Elektra: Not my strong suit.

Matt: No mine either, but what do you say?

.

Davos met his old friend Danny Rand. Years ago they'd competed for the powers of the Iron Fist. It was close, but Danny won, and turned it over to Colleen, his girlfriend and a former member of the Hand.

.

Danny: Why are you doing this?

Davos: You disgraced the Iron Fist. I was more worthy.

Danny: So because you're mad at me, you fight for Hell.

Davos: My alliance with Fisk is temporary. Why should I care which warlord has which territory in Hell?

Danny: Maybe you shouldn't. But what we were taught, was suppossed to be about more. As it turns out we were just one philosophy that had part of the truth, but not all of it. How about we fight together, against the Evil that threatens all life. And forget about titles that no longer matter.

.

Danny and Matt were able to reason with Elektra and Davos. But Willis and Trish needed a little physical payback before they could forgive their siblings. After awhile they used the potions that Willow had given them, and the eight of them were transported to a base in Antarctica. They were surrounded by many heavily armed security guards. The guards could see that Jessica and Luke were clearly hurt, thus they trained their weapons primarily on Willis and Trish.

.

Trish: What happenned?

Willis: I think my brother just used rope-a-dope on us.

Luke: It worked for Ali.

Willis: Fair enough.

Luke: We good?

Willis: Yeah, I think you've suffere enough.

Jessica: And us?

Trish: I'm good.

Elektra: What now?

Matt: You four can stay here. If you live in peace you'll be fine.

Trish: If we don't?

Jessica: We have a prison system. We'd like to eventually bring you to our side to fight against Evil, but for now your access to certain areas will be restricted.

Davos: Fair enough. But I would like to fight for Good again.

Trish: Me too.

Willis: I don't know if I was ever good, but I'm guessing this is the best deal for me, I'm in.

Elektra: I can't make any promises, but for now I'll stay here.

.

This seemed to be a victory for Good, four powerful warriors had defected over from Evil. But as much as the Defenders wanted to believe in their respective loved ones, they couldn't help but wonder, was this too easy?
