Chapter 124
.
Note: Tandy and Tyrone are from the Hulu series "Cloak and Dagger."
.
Magneto was on his way to a meeting. He had recently been elected to the Council, as had others whom he was at odds with. The meeting was between himself and others on the Council, as well as the Ambassador. It was regarding immigration to Antarctica, and the unauthorized rescues from Hell. On his way to the meeting Magneto encountered a young man, Tyrone Johnson. Tyrone was a mutant in his own world, or whatever name was used in that world. He was known to some as "Cloak" a superhero who worked alongside another mutant/superhero known as "Dagger." Tyrone needed to talk with Magneto about his friend.
.
Tyrone: I know you're a busy man, but I was wondering if the Ambassador will allow any more rescues?
Magneto: That's what we're going to discuss at the meeting.
Tyrone: My friend, Tandy, it's sort of my fault she's in Hell.
Magneto; How so?
Tyrone: There was a prophecy in New Orleans, that's where I'm from. Every couple of generations, there are suppossed to be two people. Sometimes they're siblings, sometimes lovers, sometimes just friends. When a disaster strikes, one is expected to kill the other to prevent complete destruction. Tandy and I learned of this destiny, I was willing to die rather than kill her, but she refused to let me. We thought we overcame this prophecy. Then, millions dissapeared, and a giant fire was approaching our planet.
Magneto: So you two thought that one had to die to protect your planet?
Tyrone: It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Magneto: Based on what you're saying, I can see why you'd think that.
Tyrone: We'd heard about two brothers who stopped disaster by fighting a pistol duel, seemed as good a way as any to decide. I shot first, deliberately missed her. I just stood by for her to do it. Instead, Tandy shot herself in the head. But it didn't work, the fire still came. I wanted to just crawl under a rock and die, but people depended on me to save them. There were some portals opening, I saved who I could. But I couldn't bring my friend back.
Magneto: From what you're telling me, it seems possible that her sacrifice might have gotten her into Heaven already.
Tyrone: She wasn't perfect, made more than a few mistakes, stealing mostly. Maybe you're right, maybe she's in Heaven right now, but maybe she's not. I'm going to find out. If you can't persuade the Ambassador and the Council, just promise you won't snitch on me.
Magneto: I'm not going to inform on someone who only wants to save their friend. Even if we can't persuade them, to officially allow these rescues, you might want to consider asking for my help again.
