126. Shiba Rekka

Kanto: Vermilion City, Cerise Laboratory

At night, Goh is sleeping with Chloe in the bedroom of Proto TRUK 2.O.

Then, he woke up.

"What was that?" Goh asked.

Chloe woke up and asks her boyfriend, "What's wrong, honey?"

"Nothing. Just sleep, my sweetheart." Goh replied and Chloe slept off.

Goh moves from his bed and goes outside, sitting on the stairs and thinks about his mentor, Shiba Rekka. "Master, you and me will be togther again..."

Then, he remembers his childhood.

7 years ago (Flashback)

The young Goh was sad that he felt betrayed by Tokio since 1 month and walks in the street of Vermilion City.

Then, he saw toy sword shop and he was admired at it. Goh wanted it but, he has no money his pocket and goes away.

Goh walking around the Swordsmen's Academy and then he saw a man performing the skills with sword.

Seeing this, Goh was admired at the man's swordfighting skills.

"Awesome!" Goh said.

Then, a man notices Goh.

"Who are you?" A man asked.

Goh tried to run away but a man caught him.

"Leave me alone! Don't beat me!" Goh said.

"Beat you? No. Why are you here?" A man asked.

"I am here for... yes! I liked your skills. It's so amazing!" Goh said.

"Hmm... What's your name?" A man asked.

"I am Goh Keegan." Goh introduced himself. "What's your name?"

"I am Shiba Rekka, the teacher of Swordsmen's Academy. Will you join the academy?" A man asked.

"Yeah!" Goh said.

"Okay, let's start your training." Rekka said.

Then, Rekka gives Goh a nice training. Goh is having the difficulty of picking a heavy iron sword.

"Goh, what's wrong?" Rekka asked.

"Master, I can't pick my sword. It's so heavy!" Goh said.

"It doesn't matter. Shall I give you a new sword?" Rekka asked and he gives a wooden sword to Goh. "Now, let's start the training."

Rekka gave Goh the art of sword fighting and discipline in many weeks.

After that Goh and Rekka were taking rest.

"I am impressed that you have mastered the skills of sword fighting." Rekka said.

"Thank you, master." Goh said. "I will become the great swordsman one day!"

"Goh, remember. As a swordsman you should know that you must be devoid of ego and pride otherwise you'll be weaker." Rekka advised.

"Got it!" Goh said and his stomach growling in hunger.

"What's wrong?" Rekka asked.

"Hehehe... I am hungry." Goh laughed.

"Okay, shall we eat ice cream?" Rekka asked and he takes Goh to the ice cream shop.

In the ice cream shop, Goh and Rekka were eating the ice cream.

The ice cream shop owner sets his eyes on Goh and shoots his tongue at him but Rekka caught it and pulls him before delivering the swift kick.

"Master, what's going on?" Goh asked.

"Hide behind that tree!" Rekka said and Goh hid behind the tree.

The ice cream owner was revealed to be a green reptilian Daemon named Reptile.

"REEEEEEPPPPTILEEE!" Reptile hissed.

Goh got terrified.

"Don't get scared. I can deal with this." Rekka said and he took out the red broad book, which labelled Swordrago and opens the cover page.

SWORDRAGO! Once there was a swordsman who has the power to wield the blade of a dragon and uses it to protect the world and justice will be served.

Then, Rekka wielded the dragon themed blade.

KAEN RYUKEN!

And the belt appeared around his waist. He places the book on the belt and shouts "Henshin!"

Rekka presses the button on the belt with Kaen Ryuken's bottom of the handle, thus opening the Swordrago book's transformation page.

HI DOKUHA!

A flaming dragon came out of the opened book and flies around Rekka in circular motion and disappeared in flames as he was transformed.

~SWORDRAGO!~

Rekka was eqipped in red, silver and gold knight like armor, modelled after the dragon and he has the red gold knight dragon themed helmet; Rekka transfromed into Swordrago.

Goh was awed at Rekka transformed into a dragon knight.

"Oh, Swordrago!" Reptile spits the saliva at Swordrago but defended himself with his sword and unleashes the flaming slash at Reptile and soon he disappeared.

Then, an invisible Reptile got Goh and shows Swordrago. "If you kill me, I will end your student's life!"

"Master, save me!" Goh shouted.

"Calm down." Swordrago said and presses the button with his Kaen Ryuken, switching the fire page to water page.

MIZU DOKUHA!

Swordrago's armor colour got changed from red to blue then shoots the stream of water at Reptile, freeing Goh.

"No my prey!" Reptile tried to catch Goh but...

KAZE DOKUHA!

Swordrago changed from page of water to page of wind, changing his armor colour into green then he strikes Reptile with his Kaen Ryuken embed with winds.

"Now time to end you." Swordrago switches the wind page to earth page.

CHIKYU DOKUHA!

Swordrago's armor changed into yellow and finishes Reptile with the Kaen Ryuken's slash covered with rocks.

Reptile was exploded into pieces.

Swordrago takes out the book, cancelling his transformation.

Goh was speechless and Rekka goes to him.

"What was that, master? You were suddenly become a knight and-" Goh said.

"Nothing happened. Let's return to our academy." Rekka said as he and Goh went back to academy.

At night, Goh talks about the book that Rekka used.

"Master, what kind of book is that?" Goh asked.

"This is Swordrago. It tells about a swordsman who wielded the dragon's sword and used it to serve the justice and protect the world." Rekka said. "This Power Book made me to transform and fight against the evil."

"Can I become like him?" Goh asked.

"Yes. If you grow into a brave boy." Rekka said and Goh smiled.

Then, he heard a noise.

"What's that?" Goh asked.

"Stay here and don't go outside. I'll be back." Rekka said and he went off.

Rekka went to the forest and he meets the man in purple coat named Daichi Kurayami.

"Kurayami!" Rekka said. "It's been a long time!"

"Sorry. No time for reunion..." Kurayami said and he took out the purple book named 'Jaaku Wolf'.

JAAKU WOLF! It was only a wolf which birthed the darkness that once enveloped the world...

Kurayami wields the purple, wolf themed sword.

ANKOKU OKAMIKEN!

Rekka was in shock and says, "That sword-!"

A belt appeared around Kurayami's waist before he puts the book on it and shouts "Henshin!" before pressing the button with his Ankoku Okamiken, opening the transformation page.

HENSHIN DOKUHA!

A purple dark wolf came out of opened book and runs around Kurayami before he became a purple wolf knght, Wolzard.

~Go, spread the darkness and conquer the light! Jaaku Wolf!~

"How could you do that, my friend?!" Rekka asked.

"Because I am in service of Emperor Armada." Wolzard said and he unleashes the dark slash at Rekka but, he transformed into Swordrago and fights Wolzard.

"Kurayami, I thought you and me are the partners!" Swordrago said. "Are you really a traitor?!"

"Yes. Because I wanted to just get the greater power." Wolzard said. "I will use the sword to conquer the world!"

"Swords are used to protect the world, not to rule the people's hearts!" Swordrago said as he retaliated the attack.

Wolzard unleashes the finisher by closing and opening the Jaaku Wolf book on his belt.

HISSATSU DOKUHA!

"Dark Howling Slash!" Wolzard unleashes the purple wolf shaped energy slash at Swordrago but, destroyed the slash before Swordrago destroyed it and closes and opens the book on his belt, unleashing the finisher.

HISSTASU DOKUHA!

"Flaming Dragonic Slash!" Swordrago unleashes the flaming dragon slash at Wolzard, thus defeating him and reverted back to Kurayami.

"Kurayami, what you did is unforgivable!" Swordrago said and he rushes towards Kurayami before stabbing him on the chest, killing him.

Swordrago became horror struck and pulls sword from Kurrayami's chest and he is filled with guilt and reverts back to Rekka.

"Sorry, my friend..." Rekka said.

Then, Emperor Armada, Duvessa appeared.

"Grieving at the murder of your friend?" Armada asked.

"Who are you?" Rekka asked.

"I am king of the Damons, conqueror of 99 dimensions! Emperor Armada." Armada said.

"Would you like to join our ranks, brave man?" Duvessa asked.

"No! I won't!" Rekka said.

"If you refuse that, I will end your life. Bow before me!" Armada said. "I repeat will you join me?"

"Yes... I will..." Rekka said.

"Then, throw that book and a sword aside. Pick the Ankoku Okamiken!" Duvessa said.

"Wait. I have to say Goh a goodbye." Rekka said.

"Fine. Don't take too long." Armada said and he goes to his academy.

In the academy, Goh is waiting for his mentor then Rekka arrived.

"Master!" Goh said, rushing to his mentor.

"Goh, I am going far away." Rekka said.

"Why?" Goh asked.

"Because I have some important work from my master." Rekka said which saddened Goh.

"When will you come back?" Goh asked.

"I will not come back." Rekka said, sadly.

"Really? How will you?" Goh said.

"Promise me, Goh. I will come back after many years." Rekka said, holding Goh's hands and gives the Swordrago book to him. "And become a good swordsman."

"Yeah, I will!" Goh said.

Rekka took out Kaen Ryuken and stabs the ground, here outside the Swordsmen's Academy. Then, he rushes to the place and filled tears of sorrow and sadness.

Rekka wiped the tears and went back to Armada and Duvessa. "My lord. I am back. I accept your offer."

"Okay. Pick that Jaaku Wolf Power Book and Ankoku Okamiken!" Armada said.

Rekka picks the blade and book which enveloped him in darkness before he was transformed into Wolzard.

"Welcome to the Daemons... Wolzard." Duvessa said before the three disappeared.

Goh returns to his home and he was saddened by Rekka's departure.

Present day

Goh was still missed his mentor so much that he revered him as a father figure and the sun has risen.

Then, Ash came.

"Hey, Goh. What are you doing here?" Ash asked.

"Nothing. Just thinking." Goh said.

"Thinking of what?" Ash asked.

"My mentor." Goh said. "Just missing him since so many years."

"Really?" Ash asked. "Hey, we have to back to Cerise Laboratory. It's breakfast time!"

"Okay." Goh said and he went to lab with his best friend for a breakfast at Cerise Laboratory.

Infernua

In the Infernua, Rio and Wolzard were preparing for the swordsmen army.

"Master, ready to kill Goh?" Rio asked.

"Yes." Wolzard said, wielding the Ankoku Okami Ken.

My comments about Goh:

Goh is an amazing character in my opinion. In fact, Goh is the only reason I'm watching Pokemon Journeys. In contrast, Goh is a bit mature ... his voice is mature and his character design is awesome and I like his Raboot too. His Pokemon catching jokes are really entertaining. So yeah, I like Goh!

But... I think Goh's character would have been a lot better if instead of catching every Pokemon he and Ash were exploring the various regions tracking down Mew sightings for him to catch and then he discovers interesting unique Pokemon from each region that he catches to research and then comes to appreciate as he grows not just throwing pokeballs at every pokemon getting handed not one but TWO legendary pokemon and somehow being a talented battler after watching ash battle for a couple months...
