...

Daiz wondered if Bulma was behind the fact that Gartoas was suddenly out of commission due to a sudden onset of "stomach issues." Of course Bulma wasn't the one who prepared the meal... but he could be unfairly suspecting something amiss when the Kardanagan's tremendous appetite might very well be the cause of his current situation. The mother of Gohan hadn't prepared meals aboard the ship for a considerable amount of time and it might simply be that Gartoas had overindulged since her extraordinary culinary talents were available once again. Just because his relationship with the blue-haired beauty had ended on a sour note didn't mean that underhandedness was at work.

The Kabochan snickered at the irony of his thoughts. A pirate was concerned about others doing something underhanded. Turles immediately came to mind at the thought of nefarious actions. Whatever errand the Saiyan had went about on was certainly taking a considerable amount of time..

...

"Shouldn't you have gotten permission to use your brother's signature attack?" Turles asked in all seriousness.

"WHA' THA' HELL?" Jeicyln screamed.

"Oh, that's right...OOPS! Funny how things that are so insignificant slip my mind isn't it?" the Saiyan pressed.

Shaking with rage, the Brench flung the crackling red sphere in the hated pirate's direction with all the strength she could muster.

Turles easily evaded the incoming missile.

"Is that it?"

The infamous brigand brought his hand up to his mouth as if stifling a yawn.

"Perhaps I should take a nap and have you wake me when you're done here?" the former commander of the Crusher Corps implored.

A barrage of epithets as well as ki blasts flew from the white-maned female.

"Touchy!" the black and silver armored warrior called out.

...

A pale-looking Gartoas staggered to the bridge area. His crewmate looked up in surprise, "Shouldn't you be lying down somewhere?"

"Daiz, Ah forgot ta tell ya. Turles wanted ya ta pick up some Ytalera wine."

"You're not in any shape to keep an eye on Chi-Chi or Bulma while I'm out and there's no telling how long Turles will be," Daiz stated.

"So take em ' BOTH wi' ya! Or ya wanna tell Turles ya left tha two young ones ta guard em' ?"

"NO!" the dark green-haired pirate spoke up quickly.

Daiz sighed, there was no other way but to drag the two Earth women along for the task at hand. He didn't relish having to interact with Bulma at the present time but it was unavoidable. Besides both of the human females still had a healthy fear of Turles, how much trouble could the pair be?

...

"Back during my time with Frieza, Jeice used to bore us almost to tears bragging about his sporting career exploits. They were so over the top that I imagine he was trying to compensate for actually being "the Brench who spent all his playing time.. on the bench!" Turles tittered.

"YA' TAKE THAT BACK!" Jeiclyn screeched.

"No doubt that's what your mother said when the medic first presented her with the pair of you!"

The Saiyan actually winced at the high pitched scream that emanated from the beyond livid female. There were times he regretted the acute sense of hearing his race was blessed with.

...

Bulma sat with her arms crossed tightly over her chest. Daiz had coldly addressed her as "Miss" and made it quite clear that he had no qualms about delivering swift and dire punishment if she or Chi-Chi disobeyed his orders. They were to accompany him to pick up and deliver a shipment to Turles's ship. The Kabochan made no attempt to make conversation with either of them as they boarded a small shuttle nor when they entered a questionable establishment upon arrival.

"I'll be glad when we get out of this place! It gives me the creeps!" Chi-Chi exclaimed nervously.

The brunette shivered as she took in the sight of what must be the dregs of society in the galaxy as far as this place was concerned. Sweat and cheap liquor were the scents that regaled them in this squalid dive. She would never had willingly set foot in such surroundings.

Bulma turned her head in disgust as an enormous orange-haired pink being raised up his garment chest high and scratched at the fleshy rolls beneath. As she turned, a glint on a feline-faced alien's clothing caught her eye. It became apparent that he wore a uniform. A badge of some sort was affixed to the left side of the muscular brown-furred lifeform's chest.

"Officer Purrnar, good to see you," a purple bovine alien commented.

Officer? The former heiress glanced in the Kabochan pirate's direction. Daiz clutched a currency pouch and was in a heated discussion with a green reptilian male. This could be their chance...

Keeping her eyes on Turles's crewman, the bluenette slipped over to where the feline stood.

"Officer Purrnar?"

"Yes? How may I assist you, Ma'am?"

"My friend and I are in danger..." Bulma began.

"I'm with the Kquaralon Planetary Law Enforcement. What appears to be the problem?"

The alien officer listened intently as the young scientist explained her predicament. His eyes nearly bulged from their sockets as she pointed out Turles's second-in-command. He reached for a device at his belt.

"Officer Purrnar requesting backup..."

...

Daiz sighed in relief as he finally settled with the green reptilian merchant on the price of the Ytalera wine. Filthy lizard had tried to bargain for three times the going price! Once the cargo was loaded aboard the shuttle it was a quick trip back to Turles's ship. Neither of the Earth-born women caused him any trouble at the start of his errand unless he counted the icy stare Bulma had given him. The pirate was confident the return journey would go smoothly as well.

Cold metal that could only signify a weapon suddenly pressed against the back of his neck. He dropped swiftly to the floor kicking out as he cursed himself inwardly for not watching his surroundings. The wielder of said weapon was taken off his feet in surprise. A squad of apparent law enforcement officers seemed to appear in every direction. But who had alerted them to his presence? The Kabochan did his best against overwhelming odds. For each foe he tossed aside it seemed three took their place. Daiz felt the electrifying pulse of a ki-supresser course through him. His arms tingled strangely. It would be considerable time before he'd be able to adequately charge a blast. Now he was in trouble!

Only years of training kept the dark green-haired warrior on his feet. Dizziness began to set in- a damned side effect from the ki-supresser. He had to stay on his feet.. Several of the Kquaralon Planentary Law Enforcement officers piled on top of the struggling mercenary. Daiz felt the manacles that signified ki-controllers slip around his wrists. A large hand jerked him up and forced him to his feet.

Daiz widened his eyes in horror as he took in the sight of a smiling uniformed brown-furred feline officer shaking Bulma's hand.

"We certainly are indebted to you for your assistance Ma'am. We couldn't have detained this pirate scum without you..."
