Thank you for the review. Yes, she is starting to remember her past. Just the small things like smell can trigger things. I try to make it realistic but its fanfiction, so things happen.

Thank you for your review. I know I am slow at updating but knowing the constant reviews from you all make it worth it.

Thank you for the review. It makes me smile to know that you are happy when I update. I have an idea on where the story is going but Rylan's adoption or where she ends up is still up in the air at the moment.

Thank you for the reviews. I'm glad you like the story. I know I am slow at updating but I will continue this story until the end. It won't be left so updates will come eventually.

Thank you for the review. I have had a look back and you are right. Rylan is acting like a two-year-old and not a seven-year-old. She is a little regressed due to her background, but I will try my best to not make her sound too young. Thank you for the feedback.

Family lazy day.
Rylan remembers something about her Birth Mother.
Xxxxxxxx
July 2nd Wednesday Early afternoon
Rylan felt like she was on cloud nine. She had a memory of her mother. One that wasn't tainted with death. A happy memory, one that she could hold onto forever.
Rylan placed the sweater next to her and then looked over at the perfume. She could see that the black and green bottle was more of a manly one and so she picked up the purple and silver diamond shaped bottle and slowly opened it. Hesitantly Rylan sprayed some of the perfume onto her wrist like she had seen her Mama do and inhaled.
Rylan almost squealed in joy as she continued to smell her wrist. It was the same smell that she associated with her mother. Rylan placed the lid on the bottle and carefully put the bottle on top of the sweater. She wanted to keep those apart from the others in the box.
Thinking of the memory, Rylan looked over at the notebook and wondered why it wasn't in the other box with all the paperwork. She reached over and plucked it up before settling back on her seat. She opened it up and could see that it was full of handwriting.
Rylan shuffled through the book a little until she stopped on a page with words that were familiar.
In perfectly neat handwriting at the top of the page was 'For My Heart – all about love' and at the bottom of the page it had 'my heart, my daughter, my Little Ryan'.
It was then that Rylan realised that the book was her mother's song book and the song from the memory was written just for her. Although it still looked and sounded weird that her name was Ryan and not Rylan.
Seeing the name of the song, Rylan spun quickly to her left and grabbed the disk that had the same name on it.
Rylan could hear her brothers, sisters and Mothers moving around in the house, indicating that the movie was done, and they were ready to start a new one. Rylan grabbed the song book and the disk and headed into the living room to talk to her Mothers.

Rylan stood in the entryway to the living room with the disk and notebook in her hands. Only Lena, Mariana and Brandon were in the room which meant the others were going to the bathroom, getting food, or just stretching.
"Mama?" Rylan called softly as she looked from her Mama to her feet and then back again. She was hesitant to ask her Mothers if she could look at the disk.
Lena looked over at the little girl and could see she wanted something but didn't know how to say it so she walked slowly to the little girl and got on her knees in front of her.
"Hey sweetheart, are you ok?" Lena asked softly looking into the blue eyes of the little girl.
"Yeah." Rylan spoke softly with a nod as she looked into her Mamas eyes.
Lena could see the little girl had things in her hand and so she waited patiently for the little girl to speak up.
"Whatever it is, you know you can speak to Mommy and I about anything right?" Lena asked the girl, just to make sure she knew. Rylan nodded.
"I know, I ummm, I." Rylan started and then stopped not knowing how to word it. Stef, Jude, Callie and Jesus walked into the living room now. Stef remained near the living room entry while the other kids took seats.
"What's up sweets?" Stef asked the girl softly after kneeling next to Lena to give the girl their full attention. Rylan looked from her feet then up towards her Mothers faces before biting her lip. Only seeing love in her Mothers eyes, she slowly got some words out.
"I umm, I was looking through the last box and I found some stuff and I sort of remembered some things." Rylan spoke softly to her Mothers. All the other kids perked up, feeling happy for the little girl.
"That's great sweetheart. We said it would slowly come to you." Lena told the girl with a smile, leaning over to place a gentle kiss to the girl's cheek. Rylan smiled at her Mama before speaking again.
"Is it alright if I show you what I found?" Rylan asked. The Moms could hear the hesitation in her voice and knew that they needed to change that. They would love to see what their little girl had found.
"It is more than alright sweets." Stef reassured the girl enthusiastically with a big smile on her face. Rylan smiled back and let out a breath of relief. She was glad she could share her memories. Any other foster home would have not let her, they would have been angry. She was glad she landed with this family.
"Well, um, I was looking through the box and I found a sweater that was my Moms and when I smelt it, I remembered her holding me and singing me to sleep. "Rylan explained as she brought the sweater up close to her face with one hand so she could hug it and so that Stef and Lena could see it more.
"That's a wonderful memory Honey." Stef gave the girl an encouraging smile, knowing that there was more Rylan was wanting to show them.
"I know. I found a book that is my Moms song book and the song that I remembered her singing to me is in there. She wrote it for me." Rylan said softly. She was in awe of her biological Mother. She wrote a song for her and no one had ever done something so meaningful for her like that.
"She wrote you a song?" Mariana asked in awe. The whole family were smiling. Having someone write a song about you was so beautiful and thoughtful. It was something you would always remember.
"Yeah, it's called 'all about love'." Rylan told them holding up the song book and disk in the hand that was not holding the sweater.
"That's so cool. Can I see?" Mariana asked as she moved from the sofa and went over to where her Mothers and little sister were.
"Yeah." Rylan said as she held the book and disk out to her sister. Mariana immediately opened the book and looked through it for the song.
"The disk has the same name on it. Do you think we can see what's on it?" Rylan asks hopefully as she looked at her Mothers.
"Of course, we can sweets." Rylan smiles as her Mothers stand from their kneeling position and Mariana hands the disk to Stef so she could put it in. Rylan moved from the entry way of the living room and sat on the floor close to the TV. She really wanted to see what was on the disk.
The others got comfortable around the room and sat quietly while Stef set the disk up. Once it was in Stef moved from the tv and took a seat next to Lena on the sofa.
The screen went black and then it looked like camera was jumping around and then it was focused and facing a beautiful woman sitting on a sofa. The whole family knew it was Rylan's Mother from the family pictures. Then the volume turned on and the sound of a baby crying came from the television along with hush whispers from a man. Soon enough Rylan's Mother, Samantha, smiled at something off screen and then a Man carrying a crying baby walked into the screen and took a seat. Curtis Mathews face appeared and the whole family awwed at baby Rylan's red face as she cried.
"Look Mommy will make it all better baby girl." Curtis said to his daughter before placing a kiss to the crown of her head.
Rylan was mesmerised. She was looking at her Biological parents and not just in a photo frame. They were moving and breathing and talking. Tears of happiness and sadness filled her eyes as she continued to watch.
"PLAYING ON TV".
"No more crying My Heart. Mommy and Daddy have got you." Samantha cooed to her little girl.
Samantha leant over and kissed the baby's tear-stained cheeks before reaching to the side off camera and pulling out a guitar that she got into position to play.
A soft melody floated through the room and the baby's cry slowly turned into soft sobs as she watched her mother from her seat on her father's lap.
"You gave me a gift, so I'll give one to you.
This song that I'm singing, I wrote it for you.
Curtis rocked side to side with his daughter as he listened to his wife sing. The baby staring at her mother with big blue watery eyes.
'cause the gift that you gave me is the look through your eyes
See the world with its wonders
so that hope will abide.
We all are connected, the earth, stars and sea…
As the moon reflects sunlight. your light shines on me.
Samantha smiled at the sight of her daughter. Tear streaks, red face and long eyelashes caressing her cheeks as her eyes slowly drooped.
It's all about love, it's all about giving.
Love has no end and no beginning.
You live in me and I live in you…
Little Rylan fast asleep on her father's lap. Her Mothers voice calming enough to sooth her to sleep.
"Good night My Heart." Samantha says as she places her guitar down, kisses the baby on the cheek and stands up heading towards the Camera.
SCREEN GOES BLACK
Rylan continued to stare at the screen even after it went black. Tears fell down her face. This was better than a memory.
The whole family watched Rylan. Not one of them had dry eyes. They had also been in awe of the little girls' biological parents. They were glad that Rylan had this disk that she could treasure.
"Mommy, Mama" Rylan whispered out softly as she moved from her spot on the floor and dived into her Mother's arms. Needing their comfort after feeling so emotional from the disk.
"We got you, we got you." Lena and Stef hugged their daughter close to them. Nothing else was spoken as they let her process her feelings and emotions.
Only a small chapter. Sorry guys.
Read, review.
More to come.
