A/N: Written before we knew the "A" stood for Atticus.
Martin Andrew Deeks," Kensi said in exasperation, shaking her head. He wasn't exactly sure what he'd done, but Deeks looked over at her, one eyebrow raised in amusement as he cradled their baby daughter against his chest.
"You know that's not my middle name, right?" Kensi snorted and rolled her eyes.
"Funny." Deeks grinned at her confidence and she wavered. "Deeks, quit messing with me."
"I'm not. My middle name is not Andrew," he insisted.
"But I've been calling you that for years and you've never said a thing," she said, looking horrified. Deeks scratched at his beard, looking a little nervous now.
"Well, at first I thought it was kind of funny because you seemed so sure of yourself, but then after a few years I didn't know how to tell you the truth." He shrugged as Kensi just shook her head in disbelief. "Besides, it sounds pretty good."
Rounding on him, Kensi demanded,
"Why haven't I ever seen your real middle name?"
"Because I purposely put only my initial on all my official documents," he explained. "I hate my middle name." Kensi glared at him, then spun around suddenly, heading upstairs.
"Where you going, Sugar Bear?"
"To find your birth certificate!" she shouted over her shoulder. Deeks grinned, leaned down and rubbed his nose across the top of Caleb's fuzzy head.
"Good luck with that," he said quietly and then more loudly added, "Oh, and don't even think of asking my mom. She's sworn to secrecy."
A/N: I think, like many people, I thought Deeks' middle name was confirmed to be Andrew. Apparently I just read too much fanfiction.
