Chapter 141

.

Note: Lobo and this Superman are from "Superman: the animated series" from the 1990s.

.

When Xena fought her five enemies, she feared there would be others. Not just for herself, but for the other superheroes. She was right. Until December 2023 most of these villains were okay with confronting their enemies in Antarctica, isolated from civilian populations. But then, just before Christmas, another villain came to America. This villain was Lobo. He had destroyed his own planet for fun and became a bounty hunter. He was hired to capture Superman, only to be betrayed by his own employer. Lobo and Superman had to work together to escape, and Lobo gave his word that he would leave Superman and Earth alone. Although he was a sociopath, Lobo usually stuck to his word. Obeying the letter, if not neccessarily the spirit, of the agreement. But now, Lobo drew Superman out by causing trouble. He went to the local police station, and just started blasting. Lobo killed over 100 people before Superman finally showed up. As an alien refugee Superman wasn't suppossed to come like this, but Lobo left him no choice.

.

Lobo: Finally, I was getting bored fraggin these geeks.

Superman: You gave me your word that you would leave me and the Earth alone.

Lobo: Different Earth, figure the rules don't apply. As for you, well my new boss wants you dead. Either you come with me, and agree to work for Evil. Or, I kill you, maybe you get to Heaven, or maybe you're tortured by the boss for a long time.

Superman: I take it you don't want to get into Heaven.

Lobo: Too boring for me. I'm fine with all the violence in Hell, enjoy it actually. Now, let's have some fun here.

.

Superman knew he had no choice but to fight Lobo here. It was long and brutal, but in the end Superman stood victorius. He knew that killing Lobo would only send him back to Hell, nothing to stop him from coming back here. Superman took Lobo back to a cell in Antarctica. It seemed pretty unlikely that Lobo could be redeemed, but at least this could temporarily stop him from fighting for Evil. The bigger problem was that a number of innocent civilians had been killed in this battle. The SBA and others would turn the tide against alien refugees, and that had likely been evil's plan all along.
