Lobo coming to Earth, forcing Superman to battle him, was not the last time that Hell attacked Earth. In January clone troopers and Trade Federation battle droids attacked several cities. They were led by Darth Vader, this version of Vader never achieved redemption, and seemed to have no interest now in turning away from the dakside of the force. These forces decimated New York, Los Angelas, London, Paris, Moscow. The armies of these countries were able to repell the marauders, but the cost was high. In the course of only a few hours they had managed to decimate these cities and kill over one million civilians. The question was, what happenned to those souls after they died? Not one of them had been deemed worthy to be raptured to Heaven. Some had tried to do better after, during this battle many had tried protecting their loved ones, even total strangers. Rescue workers and first responders had been killed as well. Perhaps at least some of them had made it into Heaven. But others were now in Hell, amongst the very people who had just slaughtered them. It seemed to be a major advantage for Evil. No matter how many were killed, they could come back, or bring others back to Hell with them. How Good could even hope to triumph was unclear.
