Summary: Sonic teasing Amy in a slight canon way.
Prompt:
Somewhere in a Sonic Game, Sonic and Amy are tag-teamed for a short portion of the game, and while having a bit of a slight dispute over which way to go, Amy stops to get directions from a nice man that was passing by.
"Thank you!" Amy waves politely and a bit over enthusiastically as the man smiles and waves back, before walking away.
She leans on one leg until he's fully disappeared off screen, then turns around to put her hands on her hips, smugly smiling and closing her eyes, nodding to the side. "See? Now that's how you ask for directions."
Sonic taps his foot, folding his arms and rolling his eyes, before walking onward.
She giggles, as she follows behind, "You know, you don't always have to be such a grump." she puts her hands behind her back, and leans forward, keeping up with his fast paced walk. "It really wasn't that long, he just talked a lot."
"He was flirting with you, Amy." Sonic looks behind him, gesturing back to her with his hand, and rolling his eyes once more, seemingly not wanting to talk about it, but also making fun of her in the process.
Amy fidgeted back, her arms angling a little back as she held them up, looking shocked to hear that.
"W-what!?" she lifted a leg up, turning to look back behind her, and seeming to cringe, but her eyes showed just pure, unknowing surprise.
"R-really..? I swear! I didn't encourage it!" she raced forward, hands out in front of her, as he looked over his shoulder, raising an eyebrow at her reaction to that statement.
"He was just so nice!"
"Emhmm." Sonic tilted his head in a slight nod back to her, before pushing a huge leaf away from him, moving now deeper into the unbeaten path. "Flirting."
"W-w-ha? Wait- being nice doesn't count as flirting. I mean, you can be nice without-OFFPH!" the leaf flung back to Amy, but she angrily lowered it, having supposed Sonic would have kept it up politely for her. "Flirting…" Amy grumbled out, and continued to follow him after moving the said leaf.
"Sorry." Sonic didn't even look back, just raised a hand to show he acknowledged that she got hit by the leaf, and moved his legs over some overgrown tree roots, before smiling forward to himself. "And that just means you're a flirt, Amy."
"WHAT?!"
"Should that dude have reason to be concerned?" He looked out over the area, seeming to look for some location clues and find out where they're next destination's direction would be in.
He raised a hand up to his eyes, blocking the sun, before lowering it when Amy toppled up next to him, huffing and dusting the terrain off herself.
"Pfft! I'm a one man, gal! I don't just bat these eyes at anyone!" She turned her head to him and let her long eyelashes do the talking for a moment, before shifting and fiddling with her hair.
He smirked and raised another eyebrow, almost amused at how long he could keep her fuming over one particular jab.
"Well, if it's that easy to flirt, why aren't you smitten yet?" she teased, sticking her tongue at him, before looking over to see what he was looking at.
"You? Nice?" he egged her on.
She huffed, shaking her body with her arms straight and down beside her, fists clenched, a 'oooh!' she grumbled out but didn't say anything after that. Just folded her arms, puffing up her cheek in a cute, charming, but obviously upset way.
He looked up, and swaggered off along the cliff's edge. "Amy.." he chuckled to himself, shaking his head before looking back at her. "I was flirting with you." he then kept walking until out of sight, as Amy suddenly threw her arms out.
"WHAT?!" she then took a moment to think about it, before thrusting her arms downward and twitching an eyebrow. "Y-you're only saying that to make me more confused!"
"Yep!"
"You jerk! That guy wasn't flirting with me at all, was he!?"
Sonic's maniacal laughter echoed slightly over the rocky jungle like surroundings.
"OoooOOOOooooh, you were just saying that to make me mad and question things just because I made us stop and ask for directions! weren't you!? Sonic!… Sonic? Hey! Sonic! W-wait for me! Don't leave me stranded! Hey! Soooniiicc! Ohh, I hate men!"
Amy raced after the trail he had left as he advanced more speedily through the terrain, before stopping in front of the next area (playable location) they needed to go through.
With his hands on his hips, scanning the tops of the large trees, he looked behind him and smirked at her rushing down to him.
He shook his head, sighing, and rubbing the top of his head. "She's hopeless."
