I wish the Family story was still up too! I don't know why it disappeared and I wish I still had the drafts. I have actually been considering redoing it, I know it won't be exactly the same but I would get as close as I can. For the life of me though I don't remember what the babies were named! I'd like to keep this story going somehow because I love the characters and their development and all that, maybe Family is the way to keep it going? Unless you guys want to read about them going to school? I feel like sending them off on another adventure, while that might be more fun, it would be repetitive at this point. Lol while typing this all out, I think I've talked myself into redoing Family whether I keep this story going or not.
Kyle's POV
"Come on Matt," I groaned. "Please."
"Screw you," he said through the pillow.
Matt was having a rough day today, he tried to channel magic into healing but it backfired somehow and he started internally bleeding. He managed to fix it before it got too bad but now he was going to be pissed off all day. I was trying to convince him to let Tori or Simon use some of their magic to help him.
"You're overworking yourself," I said. "You need help."
"No I need peace and quiet," he replied.
"Fine," I said back sort of snippy. "I'll give you peace and quiet after you tell me how to break the news to Chloe that you killed yourself instead of letting anyone magic help you."
I may not know too much about the world of magic and supernatural stuff but I know Chloe pretty well. Anyone who met her fell for her, and I knew Matt was one of them. He'd do anything to make Chloe happy.
"You tell her to stay put in her body next time," he grumbled.
Dang that was the only card up my sleeve. This really was one foul mood he was in. I pulled out my phone and pulled up Chloe's contact.
"What're you doing?" Matt could hear me typing away on the screen.
"Telling her what you said to tell her," I replied even though that wasn't what I was actually typing.
Chloe, Matt's wearing out his magic and won't let Simon or Tori heal him. I don't know what to do to help him.
I expected a response from Matt but apparently he'd fallen back asleep. He'd been doing that a lot lately and I didn't blame him. Wearing out his magic had to take a toll on him, sleep and food are the best way to recharge one's batteries.
My phone buzzed, a response from Chloe. Why is he still healing himself? Shouldn't he be ok by now?
I hesitated how to text her back, I hadn't been telling her how bad he was whenever we'd talked.
Please just tell me what to do to get him to let them help, I texted back.
A few minutes went by before she answered back. Sounds like you're just going to have to force it. He'll be mad but he'll get over it when he feels better.
Yeah that would definitely make him super anger, but a super angry healed Matt was better than a angry injured Matt.
I quietly got up and left the room without waking him then knocked on the other's door. Tori answered.
"Has he caved yet?" She asked.
I shook my head, "I think we're just going to have to do it without his approval. He's asleep right now, if you're fast and quiet you two can get it done before he wakes up and realizes what's going on."
"You know he won't like us conspiring against him," Liz chimed in.
I nodded, "I know but he's hurting himself trying to do it alone."
Tori cracked her knuckles, "Let's get it over with."
Simon nodded hesitantly, he agreed but he was way less eager to piss off Matt than Tori was. Though that seemed to be Tori's passion.
I inserted my room key into the door and held it open for the rest of them. We all stepped in quietly, Liz and I stayed back while Simon and Tori walked forward. Liz grabbed my arm and held it tightly, afraid of the repercussions of Matt waking up. Tori and Simon on opposite sides of the bed and each reached out and touched his arms. They quietly whispered under their breath some sort of spell.
Like Liz, I was waiting for something dramatic to happen but nothing did. We stood there for several minutes listening to Tori and Simon until finally they stopped and pulled their hands away and we all quickly rushed out as quietly as we could.
"So?" I said as we sat down in their room.
"He's fine now," Tori said
"You're positive?" I asked looking at Tori and Simon, I wasn't trying to doubt them I just wanted to be sure. They both nodded.
"He's likely going to be pretty upset but he's physically ok, which will probably finally allow him the sleep he needs."
I pulled out my phone and texted Chloe that they did it and he was all fixed up. Now we played the waiting game for him to wake up.
Back to Chloe's POV
I texted Kyle a smiley face, glad to hear Matt was finally doing better. Derek mumbled something as he read over my shoulder.
"What?" I asked.
"You're not going to tell him that you're sick?"
I shook my head, "No? Why would I?"
Before he could answer, the front door swung open as Ashe entered. She looked at Elijah and shook her head disappointedly.
"What?" He asked.
"You always have to ruin the fun," she said. "Jeremy could've been great yesterday."
"You can't force these kids to live your way while they're here," Elijah defended.
"And you can't force them to live your way either," she countered. "Let them decide for themselves next time."
"Ma'am," a man said as he entered. He whispered something to her and then excused himself.
"Tess would you mind joining me for a second?" Ashe asked.
Tess nodded and walked out the door with her.
Elijah mumbled something about private conversations being stupid.
Third Person POV
Tess followed Ashe as she walked along.
"Listen, I know I was a bit harsh about you guys staying here when you showed up and I'm sorry," Ashe said. "But people are starting to notice how long you and Elijah have been here. So we need to make a choice here because we don't really do the whole guest thing. Are you two planning on taking up a permanent residence here or what? Because if Elijah's coming back then we have alpha issues to discuss. I will not have him taking my role away from me."
"So you're saying we need to move in or leave," Tess replied.
"No, you two can stay as long as you want. I would absolutely love it if you would stay. It's the kids causing the issues since they aren't part of this pack and people have noticed. I told them not to venture outside the hospital too much or people would catch their scents."
"They're my pack though. So if I'm considered part of yours then so are they."
Ashe shook her head, "It doesn't work that way here, you're a member through blood or through a mate. They're not biologically your children so they aren't part of this pack."
"What am I supposed to do with them if we stayed?" Tess asked, a little agitated but trying to be calm.
Ashe shrugged, "That's not my call."
"Ashe, I like you a lot and I would love living here but I can't leave them. Those kids are my life."
"Take some time to think about it please."
