Raw: June 25, 2012
I started applying my makeup in my locker-room. I was glad to be at work tonight after dealing with this issue with Randy. After our disagreement, Randy and I weren't talking very much. We'd still talk a little but not much. Oddly enough, I think we had more issues over me deciding to work on my birthday next Monday than Randy's suspension now.
My birthday was in a week, and here I am having issues with Randy. I finish my makeup and put it back in my bag. I remember that today is my Aunt Caroline's birthday, so I grab my phone to text her.
Me: Happy birthday Aunt Caroline!
I put my phone down to start working on my hair. Tonight I had to provide commentary for a Divas Bikini Battle Royal. While I was glad I wasn't in the match in the first place, I still found it to be demeaning. I start curling my hair when I hear a knock on my door.
"It's open." I say as I continue to work on my hair.
Layla walks in. "Hey, how are you doing?"
"Alright…I guess. My birthday is a week away, and I'm having disagreements with my husband."
"I'm sure you'll be fine. Randy would put this all aside for your birthday."
"Well, I'll be working, and he'll be at home. He doesn't have to put it aside."
"Is he upset about that?"
"Yeah, he assumed that I was taking the day off, but I'm not."
"I see. You're already losing money over his suspension."
"Exactly."
"I'm sure he'll get over it."
"He better get over it. Are you ready for the Battle Royal?"
"Yeah, I wish I didn't have to wrestle in a bikini."
"I get it. It's stupid. I'm glad I'm just doing commentary tonight."
"I can't blame you."
After Vickie reveals her own swimsuit, the Battle Royal starts. I sit next to Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler at ringside.
Michael gives me a dirty look. "Why are you over here?"
I roll my eyes. "Because I was told that I had to do commentary. Trust me I don't want to be here next to you."
"Then leave."
"I will after this match is over. I don't want to be near you any longer than I have to be."
"Anyway," Jerry says. "Marissa, last week on SmackDown, you announced that you will be defending your Divas Championship against both Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres in a Triple Threat match at Money in the Bank. What are you thinking going into this match?"
"Well, I'm thinking that I'm going to retain because I know how to beat both of them. At least Beth is trying though. She's in this Battle Royal. I'm at this announce table. Where's Eve? Nowhere to be found."
Beth accidentally eliminates Natalya. Layla eliminates Beth.
"And Beth can't even win." I comment.
AJ goes to eliminate Layla, but Layla remains on the apron. Layla gets distracted by Beth, and AJ eliminates Layla. Vickie goes to eliminate AJ, but AJ manages to hang onto the apron. Vickie thinks she's won. AJ rolls back in the ring, and the two women fight. AJ eliminates Vickie.
"Here is your winner, AJ!"
I watch from my seat as she celebrates in the ring. Admittedly, I was rather surprised that AJ won the Battle Royal. I was expecting it to be either Beth or Layla. AJ had been quite impressive lately.
AJ stops celebrating and looks at me. I look back at her. AJ waves at me before gesturing to her waist. I look at the Divas Championship on my shoulder. She was becoming a threat to my reign.
I sat down on my bed at the hotel. I sigh as I check my phone. I only see one text.
Aunt Caroline: Thank you!
It was a response to me telling her happy birthday earlier. However, Randy tended to text me after Raw to check up on me when I'm on the road without him. That's what I was expecting to see on my phone, but I had nothing from Randy at all. I sigh before going through my contacts, so I could call Chelle.
Chelle: "Hey, what's up?"
Me: "I pissed Randy off and don't know what to do."
Chelle: "I thought he hadn't talked much to you."
Me: "That's what I am referring to in the first place. He hasn't checked up on me at all. Is it really possible for him to be this pissed off that I'm working on my birthday and won't be with him?"
Chelle: "I mean he can be pissed, but in my opinion, he's the one in the wrong. You worked on his birthday too. Plus, you two could be together if he hadn't gotten suspended."
Me: "Okay, I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't being ridiculous."
Chelle: "You're not, at least in my eyes."
Me: "I just want things to be peaceful, ya know? My birthday is in a week, and my party is on Saturday. I want to be able to be happy and not have issues with Randy."
Chelle: "Wait, you have a birthday party on Saturday?"
Me: "It's nothing too big. My brothers are forcing me into it. I didn't want one this year."
Chelle: "Oh I see. I'm sure Randy will try not to cause issues this close to your birthday."
Me: "I hope so. I don't want any more of that. I haven't even told him about being in therapy."
Chelle: "You still haven't told him?"
Me: "No…I want to, but I want to be able to do it when we aren't going to be in a disagreement."
Chelle: "I understand, but be careful about that. If he finds out a different way, he's going to have a legitimate reason to be mad at you."
Me: "I know, and it'll be the exact reason that he's lost a bit of my trust."
Chelle: "You need to tell him soon."
Me: "I know. I'll let you go now."
Chelle: "Alright, keep an eye on your mail when you get back home. You should have a present from me and John coming in the mail. Bye. Talk soon."
Me: "Bye."
I end the call and sigh as I lay down in the bed. I was in quite the situation.
