Chapter 185

Laetitia was in a room in the Bismarck with Ahsoka. She had told her everything that happened on Dagobah.

Ahsoka didn't know what to say, what to do, or what to think. How was she supposed to feel about that? She lost her Master ... because of her sister. Every bad thing that he did, every horrible kill he committed was all her fault.

She wished she could say she was surprised, but she was honestly surprised she hadn't figured it out sooner. Now it made sense. Laetitia was the only thing Anakin was willing to cross any lines for, just to have her. He wanted to protect her.

Of course he would choose to sell his soul to make sure she didn't end up doing that. He was a father ... He had a wrong approach to do it, but ... that 'wrong approach' was making everything more complicated and difficult.

"It's not your fault." Ahsoka managed to say.

Even she wasn't confident saying that. Leah scoffed bitterly and sadly smiled in tiredness and guilt.

"Whose is it, then?" She quietly asked.

"I feel like everything is different now. I feel like a completely different person. Now, I see more and understand less ... I can't tell the difference between right and wrong." She whispered quietly in conflict and sadness.

She had no tears left to cry. It was good that Ahsoka wasn't blaming her, but that didn't make her feel any better. Nothing could make her feel better. There was nothing anyone could do to bring her happiness back. Her mere existence ruined everyone's life ... literally.

"How are we recovering from the Battle of Hoth?" Leah tiredly asked to change the subject.

"They hurt us pretty bad." Ahsoka quietly responded.

"How many?"

"Of the 30 transports leaving Echo Base, 17 were destroyed or captured. The Base on Hoth is completely destroyed. 500 Rebels killed or captures ..." Ahsoka was reporting, but she paused.

"Who?" Leah asked. She wanted to know she specifically lost.

"I thought you'd wanna know. The list is in the HoloDisk there." She said as she pointed her finger at the HoloDisk.

"I'll take a look at it later." She tiredly said.

"Leah ... Jobin is also among the people we lost." Ahsoka hesitantly added.

This time, Leah turned around and looked at her friend in shock. Jobin was Mon Mothma's son. They met a few times since she was the Leader of the Rebellion and he was a Rebel. He was kind, like his mother.

He was ... dead. But how?

"What?"

"Yeah. He's the one who figured out Darth Vader was invading the base. His message saved us all."

"Please tell me Darth Vader had nothing to do with it. That other Stormtroopers killed him." Leah begged.

She really didn't want her father to be the one who killed Mon Mothma's son. She had no idea how she was feeling about him, but this wasn't helping. How was she supposed to forgive him for that? What was she supposed to do?

"He was personally killed by Darth Vader." Ahsoka sadly said.

Leah let out a shaky breath in sadness and guilt. She closed her eyes to stop the guilt tears from coming out. This was really bad. Could this day get any worse?

"And Lieda? What happened to her?" She asked, wanting to know if her father also killed Mothma's daughter.

"Thankfully, Winter came in just in time. She sent her to New Alderaan."

Winter Celchu Organa was Bail Organa's adopted daughter. She and Leah weren't close so much, due to Leah's ... complicated past with her father. But they respected each other and saw each other as allies.

It was a formal friendship. She was just another Senator.

"How am I supposed to show my face to Mon Mothma? My father killed her son." Leah stated, crying out.

"It wasn't your fault."

"Can you please stop saying that? We both know that it is. Everything is my fault!" She snapped crying.

Ahsoka sighed and didn't say anything. She was already going through all these things while being pregnant. She really didn't need to hear 'it wasn't your fault's. She just wanted to be left alone ... except that was the last thing she should be.

Suddenly, Leah's comlink beeped. She brought it out and read the message. There was no expression or emotion on her face from it. Was that good or bad?

"Who is it?" Ahsoka asked.

"It's ... Maz."

Leah had contacted her the second she heard about Han. She needed every help she could get, and she had a feeling Maz would be of some help ... in some way. She felt it in the Force. But how could she help?

"Maz? Han's Force-sensitive friend on Takodana?"

"Yeah."

"What does she want?"

"She says she's figured out a way to help Han. She wants to meet at the Castle."

Laetitia and Ahsoka were walking to the Bridge. When they entered, they saw Luke, Rex, Winter, Lux and Mon Mothma. But Leah's eyes were fixed on Mothma. She had no idea what to say to her.

She just walked slowly to her, her eyes looking down in shame. She didn't know how she would ever make up for her father's sins, this one in particular. He killed her son!

"Senator ... I ... I don't ... I don't even know what to say." She quietly said with sad and tired tears in her eyes.

Mon Mothma didn't say anything and just looked at her. There was no emotion in her face, and her eyes were sore from crying.

"I'm so ... so sorry." Leah just quietly apologized.

Mothma turned around, her eyes closed in frustration. It wasn't directed at Leah. She was frustrated about the whole thing. She sighed to control her emotions. Her loss was no different than anyone else's in the Rebellion. And it wasn't Leah's fault ... completely.

Luke frowned in confusion as she watched his sister. He knew she was talking about Jobin's death ... but why was she apologizing? What had she done wrong?

Mon Mothma finally managed to put a weak smile on her face. She held Leah's hands in hers, trying to calm both of them down.

"There is no need for you to apologize, General. My son's sacrifice saved us all. As his mother, I could not be more proud." She sadly tried to make things better.

Leah didn't say anything and just looked down. She was out of words to say ... especially since she had been thinking about forgiving her father. How would she react when she found out Leah was trying to save that monster?

How would Luke react? What would he think?

Leah exhaled deeply as she turned to to the others. She really did not want to deal with this. She just wanted to go meet Maz. She was in desperate need of her simple and vague explanations.

"General Skywalker." Winter's voice broke the silence.

"Senator Organa." Leah formally acknowledged her.

"Thank you for helping us. I appreciate your help."

"I only did what anyone would have done. There is no need to thank me. I'm just glad everyone is safe." Winter stated.

Leah nodded as she turned to Mon Mothma and Ahsoka.

"What's our plan? Do we have another Base to settle down in? One that hasn't been discovered by the Empire?" She asked.

"Well, we have an Outpost on Primtara. I think it's best if we go there for a while." Ahsoka said.

They were desperate for any help. Things were so bad that they didn't have a Base left. They had to go to an Outpost.

"Yeah. That's our only choice. Make preparations." Leah agreed.

"Um ..." Luke awkwardly turned everyone's attention to himself.

"what are we doing about Han? What should we do to get him back?" He slowly asked.

He didn't want them to forget about Han. It was his fault that he was captured. He knew what they were talking about was also important, but ... he was also worried about his friend. He also knew that Leah was doing something, anything she could do, do help get him back.

He was one of the most important people in her life.

"That's actually another thing I wanted to talk about. When you guys are getting the Rebels to Primtara Outpost, I will be going to Takodana." Leah informed them.

"Takodana? What's on Takodana?" Rex asked.

"A friend of mine. She's agreed to help me get Han back. She says she has some 'ideas'."

"We will work on securing the Outpost. You focus on getting General Solo back, Laetitia." Mon Mothma reassured her.

Leah smiled in appreciation as she walked out to the Comet. She wanted to get to the Comet and put it on autopilot to rest a bit, if she could. She needed it. When she left the Bridge, her eyes noticed something weird.

Chewie was there!

"What are you doing here? I thought you left with Lando." Leah asked in confusion.

Chewie roared in his language and explained why he was there. Right after the transmission ended, Maz contacted him and 'demanded his presence' at her bar on Takodana.

Leah couldn't help but smile. Maz and Chewie were only the cutest and weirdest couple in the Galaxy. Only they could find time to have romantic time together when the entire Galaxy was upside down.

"What, are you too desperate to see your girlfriend?" She joked when she sensed his hurry.

They both smiled as they went to their ships to go see why Maz wanted them there.

On Takodana

Maz was sitting behind a chair around a desk in her bar in the Takodana Castle.

When she heard Laetitia's message about Han getting captured by Darth Vader, she couldn't say she wasn't worried. She may not have shown it, but Han and Laetitia were two of her dearest friends.

She took out her comlink when she heard it beeping. It was Laetitia, saying she was coming with Chewie. Maz sighed out of relief. That was good. That part of her plan worked.

She raised her glass as she took a sip.

"She's coming." She said, not looking at the dark figure sitting in front of him.

"Good." The figure simply said.

"You do know once she sees your face, she will kill you, right?" Maz stated.

"That's the idea."

Done :)

Sorry for the delay in publishing this chapter, guys. I was busy with work :(

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please review and tell me what you thought of it! And yes, I've added a few characters, like Winter Organa. The idea was inspired by a request of one of the dear readers. I'm not sure yet, but she will probably make a few appearances in the future chapters.

As for Mon Mothma's family, you could search the internet to find more about her son and daughter. I will put the link in the Discord group chat. If you would also like to see Winter's 'faceclaim' or photos, you can also find them in the chat :)

Back to the story, what do you think Maz is doing? Did she betray Laetitia? Who was the other 'figure' that wanted to meet her? Is she walking into a trap? What is waiting for Leah on Takodana?
