Kara painted the walls with a sample to see how it would look. "Does it look too blue?" she asked Mon, Kon, and Mara.

"Looks like shit," Kon said bluntly. "Literally, shit."

"Kon, don't be gross," Kara scolded.

"Can we just decide something?" Mara asked bored.

"This is an important decision. We're putting our stamp on this house. That means we own it," Kara told her.

"Women being unable to make up their minds," Kon rolled his eyes.

"What about this color? You like this color?" Kara asked giving him the crazy eye.

"Sure, whatever," Kon said dismissively.

Kara put a paintbrush to his face with the color. "It's on, bitch," Kon said quickly grabbing a paintbrush of his own. Suddenly, Kara, Kon, and Mon were all attacking each other with paintbrushes as Mara looked on.

Mara then heard something of some concern. "Stop," she said to them. When she was ignored, she raised her voice to a shout. "Stop!"

"Far out," Kon said clutching his ringing ears.

"What is it, sweetie?" Kara asked condescendingly.

"There's a bridge about to collapse in Japan," Mara said calmly.

"Shit," Mon realized and then took off.

Kara and Kon continued to attack each other with the paintbrushes.

Mon as Superman flew over to a bridge in Japan. The suspension cables had snapped off and the bridge itself was tearing apart with a large collection of cars on it. Mon tossed a truck about to go over back onto the bridge and then went underneath. With his strength, he held the bridge up while waving to a fisherman that happened to be below him. Mon carried the broken piece over to the land and set it down.

"Konnichiwa," he said to all the freaked-out people. "We speak different languages, we have different faces, but inside we are same-same. Different but same-same," he said to them all.

They merely stared at him. "Show us becoming an Aryan god," one of them said to him in English.

"Alright, but you can't tell anyone, alright," Mon allowed. In front of them all, he went Super Insane giving himself spiky blond hair and blue eyes. The Japanese immediately cheered his new appearance.

Mon powered down to normal. "Write to your leaders to fix your broken-ass bridges because...damn," Mon said looking at the destroyed bridge.

At the breakfast table, Mon instantly appeared. "How do you hear stuff like that?" Kon asked Mara.

"I...pay attention," Mara shook her head.

"You have the same ability, Kon. You just don't give a shit," Kara scolded.

"Why can't I use my powers and draw attention to myself? I did before in the future," Kon asked.

"It's important no one knows about this family. It would ruin this role-playing game I'm doing with the planet," Kara told him.

"What if I don't give a shit about this self-constructed image you've made for yourself in this time?" Kon asked argumentatively.

"You break my rules, I break you," Kara said simply.

"Well, okay then," Kon and Mara said together.

At Smallville High, Kon listened in on Sarah's counseling session with his super-hearing. While Mara focused on disasters with due diligence, Kon focused on his prey. He used his X-ray vision around the school to find her in the halls. "You doing alright?" he asked knowingly.

"Not according to my mom. It's fine. It's just some dumb family drama," Sarah said dismissively.

"After school, we should hang out and talk about it," Kon suggested.

"Oh, shit, I have to go," Sarah said as her boyfriend, Sean, gave them the evil eye.

Mara went up to Kon. "Try to be a little less obvious," she advised him.

As Kon casually walked down the halls, Sean intentionally rammed into him falling to the floor upon impact. "Need a hand?" Kon asked as he pulled Sean to his feet while crushing it at the same time. He then pushed Sean up against a locker. Sean's football buddies huddled around them.

"Why is that whenever I see you, you're flirting with my girlfriend?" Sean complained.

"I flirt with her even when you don't see me," Kon antagonized.

All of them were about to tackle Kon when Mara intervened. "Let's go, Kon," she said to him.

"So, your sister is going to save you now?" Sean asked Kon. "Bitch, leave," he said to Mara.

Suddenly, the bullies fell to the floor as the air pressure dramatically increased around them. Mara gave Kon a look and then walked off.

Kon and Mara argued as they came back to the house. "Why do you always have to start...stuff?" Mara asked him.

Kon grinned at Mara's refusal to curse. "I had it handled. Why are you always spying on me?"

"I can't trust you to not destroy the school and all the innocent civilians," Mara said obviously.

"I'm not...the bad guy," Kon reminded her. "I only kill bad guys...and their advisers, servants, soldiers, and civilians that happen to be in my way."

"You have trouble distinguishing whether someone is good or bad," Mara reminded him.

"Sean's a bad guy. He pushed me in the hall," Kon pointed out.

"That doesn't deserve death," Mara told him.

"It deserves an ass-kicking. I am a prince," Kon said arrogantly.

"You're not a prince here, in this time," Mara pointed out.

Mon then walked up to him. "The tractor is fucked," he informed them.

They both gave him blank looks. "So, how was school?" he asked them.

"Surely, you were spying on us," Kon said cynically.

"Your mother and Barney were. I didn't," Mon shook his head.

"Is it because you trust us?" Mara asked.

"Nope. I just don't give a shit. Be thankful for that," Mon said as they all entered the house.

That evening, Kara and Mon had some wine. "So...how was your first day?" Mon asked.

"Don't act like you give a shit," Kara scowled. "I still don't know what Edge is after and there's not enough infrastructure in this shit-town for Barney to set up his surveillance state."

"I'm sure you'll find a way," Mon said unconcernedly.

"I listened in on the kids. For a moment there, I thought someone would get killed," Kara said thoughtfully. "Do you remember when you caught me listening in on you jerking off in my shower?"

"How could I forget?" Mon recalled.

"You masturbate more than anyone on the planet," Kara informed him.

"Tell me something I don't know," Mon scoffed.

"When you do it, you're thinking about guys," Kara added.

"Fuck out of here," Mon denied.

"The sound of it just makes me smile wherever I happen to be in the world," Kara said fondly.

"I may not have super-hearing but I have an excellent sense of smell. I always know when you're ready," Mon smiled.

"They have the same hearing as I do. What if they're overhearing us?" Kara wondered.

"I don't give a shit. The best sex-ed is forcing your kids to listen to their parents' love-making," Mon said knowingly.

"Isn't that the damn truth," Kara agreed.

The next morning, Kara and Mon were outside waiting for the kids to come out. "From now on, I won't be listening in on your conversations. You're on your own and free," Kara said to them.

"Yeah, bullshit," Kon scoffed.

"I trust you, mother," Mara smiled gently giving Kara a superb guilt trip.

Kara eyed the two kids and their approach towards her and then headed off to the Smallville Gazette. Chrissy came up to her with the story of the day. "An interview with the key-speaker at the harvest festival."

"Hard pass," Kara rejected.

"Well, these kinds of stories are what sell papers. Not everything you write is going to change the world," Chrissy said defensively.

"I don't think you understand the power dynamic here. You interview the key-speaker, I deal with the finances. The reason I bought this paper is to talk shit about Edge," Kara corrected her.

"Is this the newspaper that published that hit-piece on Edge?" a lady asked at the front desk.

"That would be me," Kara said standing up.

"You looking for some dirt on Edge from New Carthage?" the woman asked.

"You bet," Kara smiled.

"I'm Sharon Powell, you must be Kara Danvers," she introduced herself. "I'm hoping you can nail that bastard's ass to the wall," she said passionately.

"This better not be a waste of my time. I'm kind of a big deal," Kara warned her.

"My son was a miner in New Carthage. He worked there six months, made good money, too. Even sent some money back home," Sharon smiled at the memory.

"There better be a 'but' coming soon," Kara said impatiently.

"That all changed when Morgan Edge gave him the opportunity of a lifetime," Sharon continued.

"That bastard. I hate it when they do that," Kara interrupted.

"They made Derek sign a bunch of papers and then he went missing," Sharon said sadly.

"Why do you think foul play was involved?" Kara asked.

Sharon played a voicemail of Derek making a very ominous but vague message right before he went missing. "That was the last time I heard his voice."

"I'm sorry," Kara said and then placed a tissue box in front of her. "I'll definitely look into this but you better leave town. Someone has been taking photographs of our meeting."

"No shit?" Sharon asked stunned.

"Yep," Kara confirmed. "Chrissy, order some blinds."

At Smallville High, Kon overheard Sarah breaking up with Sean. Smiling, he didn't notice or care as another boy rammed into him and then fell to the floor. Kon then scanned the highschool as he followed Sarah around and then watched her epic fail during cheerleading practice with his X-ray vision, so she wouldn't know he was watching. As it happened, Sarah decided to lash out at her mom and quit the team.

Meanwhile, Mara was at softball practice when Kon came onto the field. "What are you doing?" Mara demanded as he was wearing a baseball uniform.

"Trying out for the team," he said obviously.

"Can I help you?" the softball coach asked him.

"I identify as a girl now. I want to try out," Kon smirked.

"You've got to be kidding me," the coach asked incredulously.

"Choose your next words carefully, they may be your last as coach," Kon said as he took out his smartphone to record her.

"Fuck me," she realized.

Mara got in Kon's face. "I forbid it," she said to him.

"And what are you going to do? Fight me in front of all these people?" Kon asked.

"I'll tell mom," Mara threatened.

"I'm shaking," Kon said dismissively. "Let's play some ball."

"This goes against everything our parents would want. Father will disown you for pretending to be a girl and mother will destroy you if you hurt any of these girls," Mara said to him. "It's also against the creed."

"If you can play, why can't I?" Kon asked.

"What if I started playing football or baseball?" Mara asked.

"I wouldn't give a shit," Kon said honestly.

"Alright, take rightfield," the coach said to Kon.

"Happy to do so, coach," Kon said with fake enthusiasm and ran out.

"You're going to need a glove," the coach reminded him.

"Not with these hands," Kon said as he kissed both of them.

For half the practice, Kon was catching every ball sent his way and then throwing back to home perfectly. Kon would even get the ball for the center outfield and first basemen showing off his skills. When he would throw it to first or second base, he fired off an easy 100mph fastball to them to get the out. As Kon was having the time of his life showing off, Mara merely sulked.

At a diner, Kon, Mara, and Sarah hung out. "So, when did you become a girl?" Sarah asked Kon.

"I've felt this desire for a very long time," Kon lied.

"Yeah, sure, every day," Mara rolled her eyes.

"You two are very unusual people," Sarah remarked.

"No shit?" Kon asked wide-eyed.

"You know, if we were together, that would make me a lesbian, wouldn't it?" Sarah asked Kon.

"I want to hear more on this thought experiment of yours," Kon said suddenly interested.

"I thought you were with Sean," Mara interrupted.

"We parted ways. He's not what I'm looking for," Sarah said vaguely.

"You mean black?" Kon asked confused.

"No!" Sarah said defensively. "He's an asshole."

"Does this break-up have anything to do with you quitting the cheerleading team?" Kon asked.

"Maybe," Sarah shrugged. "Have you ever wanted to just change everything?" Sarah asked them.

"Yes," Kon and Mara said together.

Lana Lane then came into the diner to cockblock Kon. "Hey," she said to Kon and Mara. "Sarah, can I talk to you for a moment?"

"Whatever you want to say, you can say it to them," Sarah said defiantly.

Sarah and her mom proceeded to argue in front of the future super-powered teens in the most awkward cringe-worthy way possible. Eventually, Sarah took off with her mother after exposing several dark secrets about the family that included suicide, drinking, bullying, and pill-popping. Mon then strolled in as Lana and Sarah left. "Hello, there," Mon said with false sincerity.

"Not now, Clark," Lana said as she took Sarah away.

Mon then sat down with Kon and Mara. "Everything okay with Sarah?" Mon asked.

"Pretty far from fucking okay," Kon said completely amused.

"Well, your mother is working late on her pet projects, so it's just us," Mon said brightly. "Anything exciting happen?"

"Yeah, Mara did great on the field. Coach is starting to take notice," Kon said with a wink.

"I caught that," Mon said giving Kon a fist-bump. "That's great, Mara. Let's celebrate with some beer."

That night, Kara waltzed into the Smallville Gazette. "Sharon may be the break we need on this case," Kara said optimistically.

"Or...or...or, she's a nut with a conspiracy theory. Did you smell her breath?" Chrissy pointed out.

"Just because someone's an alcoholic and a drunk doesn't mean their story is not true," Kara said knowingly. "I trust my sister with my life."

"Derek Powell has a checkered past," Chrissy looked up.

"And the voicemail? That's compelling shit," Kara objected.

"But he never once mentioned Morgan Edge. Maybe it was a drug deal gone wrong," Chrissy said. "We don't have the resources to run an investigation for weeks on end like the Daily Planet."

"Well, now you do because I'm one of the richest women on the planet," Kara corrected.

An explosion rattled the building. The two women went outside and noticed Kara's SUV on fire. She scanned everywhere but didn't find who had done it. "I suppose you can afford to buy a new car," Chrissy said dryly.

"It's not about the money. It's about the message," Kara said pissed-off.

The fire department showed up soon thereafter. "I'm sorry about your car, Kara," Kyle said with false sincerity.

"I'm going to keep my wild baseless accusations on who did this to myself for the time being," Kara said peeved.

"Thank you," Kyle said appreciatively and went back to the car fire.

At the house, Kon was getting mad kills when Mara took the controller away from him. "What the fuck?" he demanded of her.

"Why did you lie to father?" Mara asked.

"To cover my ass," Kon said obviously.

"Now that you've made your so-called point, you're done with softball," Mara ordered.

"I could be MVP this year," Kon said.

"Softball is my thing, not your thing," Mara argued.

"Since when? This week?" Kon scoffed.

"You're only doing this to cause chaos and to mess with me," Mara accused. "What if someone gets hurt?"

"I'm not a ticking time bomb. I am a precise, strategic, tactical bad-ass killer, and I deserve to be treated as such," Kon said, offended.

"Father's going to find out and he'll beat your ass," Mara warned.

"So what? Whatever doesn't kill me only makes me stronger," Kon reminded her.

"I guess you have nothing to worry about," Mara said angrily and left the room.

Mon came outside to give Kara a glass of wine. "Thought you could use this," he said as Kara contemplated a thousand ways she would kill Edge for fire-bombing her car.

"Someone tried to kill me. I must be getting closer to the truth about Edge," Kara said thoughtfully.

"It couldn't be due to you sacking all the banks, the newspapers, and the city government," Mon listed off.

"There's more to this. I feel it my gut," Kara said.

"Say the word, I'll kill him off for you," Mon volunteered.

"No, I have to follow this lead long and hard," Kara said getting closer to him.

"You just have to dig deeper," Mon encouraged.

"I want you to pollinate my flower," Kara said lustfully.

"But I didn't get you flowers," Mon said confused.

"You never do," Kara said giving him a kiss.

The next day, Kara came to the bank and met up with Lana. "Here's the paperwork all signed," Kara said giving it to her.

"Great, you mind if I talk to you about personal issues?" Lana asked.

"Go right ahead," Kara encouraged.

"Sarah quit the cheerleading team unexpectedly. It's hard to know what she's thinking. I suddenly feel like my whole family is falling apart," Lana said.

"It does seem like it," Kara agreed.

"Kyle and I barely talk when we're not yelling at each other. Sophie has become a total savage. I feel like I'm losing Sarah," Lana said.

"Well, compared to how I was at Sarah's age, she's not too bad," Kara said reflectively.

"I'm terrified of what Sarah is capable of," Lana said honestly.

"My mom, my adopted mom, would be the best at giving advice. I just use threats of violence and spiritual damnation to keep my kids in line," Kara admitted.

"Well, your kids seem to have adapted well to Smallville," Lana observed.

"Oh really?" Kara asked surprised.

"I hear Kon has become quite the softball player," Lana smiled.

Kara took a few seconds to compute that. "You mean Mara, right?"

"No," Lana shook her head.

"Well...shit," Kara realized.

At softball practice, Kon skidded into the second basemen taking her out. He then helped the poor girl back to her feet but then realized he was being watched by Kara. "Shit," he realized.

At home, Kara chewed Kon out. "What the fuck is wrong with you? Why would you join the softball team? Why would you change your gender? You think you can fucking lie to me, Kon? Do you know who the fuck I am? I'm fucking Supergirl."

"I didn't lie. I just didn't mention it," Kon said defensively. "Why does Mara get to play?"

"I can trust Mara to lower her power-level to that of a human teenage girl. Even at your lowest base level, you will still overpower these girls. Boys do not compete in girl's sports. You are a boy, Kon," Kara said.

"Who says?" Kon said argumentatively.

"I say," Kara stared him down. "Even if I cut off your dick and shove it up your ass, you're still a boy. That's how we designed and molded you in your pod."

"Yeah, well, grandmother Rhea said I was weak," Kon said becoming emotional.

"Only in comparison to your father, idiot," Kara shut down.

"Yeah, perhaps it was a mistake to test him this early," Mon chimed in.

"Everything you do is a mistake," Kon said to him.

"Kon, not everything your father does is a mistake. Be reasonable," Kara smirked.

"You get fired, you bring us here. I wish you would go back to not being around anymore," Kon said to Mon.

Mon clapped his hands condescendingly. "A decent roasting. Go upstairs and play some video games."

"Okay...I will," Kon said awkwardly and then left the room.

"I'm with you, two. I don't know what he was thinking," Mara said.

"You're dismissed," Mon said forcing her to leave the room as well.

Kara and Mon went outside of the house. "He meant every word of what he said. You need to beat his ass," Kara told him,

"I'm not sure that's what he needs any more," Mon said thoughtfully.

"We need to figure out the reasons for Kon's psychotic behavior," Kara said.

"The reason is obvious. He's half-Insane. It's his instinct to overthrow me just as I desired to overthrow my own father," Mon said.

"If that's true, what does Mara feel?" Kara wondered.

Mon eyed Mara in the kitchen as if waiting for them to come back in. "I have shit to do. You deal with the brats," Kara said and then took off.

In the house, Kon was busy playing video games with zero intention of quitting the softball team. Mara went to talk to Mon as he came in. "I should have said something. I relied on my own persuasiveness to get him to stop," Mara admitted.

"We all make mistakes, even you," Mon smirked.

"I think that lecturing him isn't going to work. He needs to be humiliated by a girl on that field," Mara began.

"I'm listening," Mon said intrigued as he drank a beer.

"I need to defeat him publicly but in a way that doesn't reveal our powers," Mara said.

"You know I don't give a shit about this scheme your mother has cooked up. I don't care about being Superman, Clark Kent, or anything about this planet. But from what I can tell, you can't defeat Kon physically, not at any level. You're going to have to outsmart him," Mon said and then handed her a lead case.

At some cheap hotel, Kara went to meet with Sharon. Unfortunately, her hotel room door had been busted in. Kara scanned the room as per usual and noticed Sharon sitting on the floor in the bathroom. There was also a tall muscular man in the room as well. He was the same man that had been taking pictures of her meeting with Sharon. "So...how can I help you?" Kara asked.

He placed a Kryptonite emitter on the desk to weaken her. Kara immediately went for the door to escape only for the assassin to slam the door shut. Kara and the assassin fought briefly in the hotel room until Kara stuck a pen in his ear. The assassin threw Kara to the floor. Kara activated her watch in clear sight of him.

"That's not going to help you," he said confidently.

Mon instantly appeared in the room as Superman and slammed the assassin into the next room. Mon punched at the assassin but he seemed to be absorbing every blow. A direct hit to the head did nothing. Mon went for another punch only for the assassin to armbar him to the floor. The assassin punched and beat Mon down. Thinking Mon was knocked out, the assassin went back for Kara. Mon got up and gave the assassin an uppercut and then a solid beat down. Finally, Mon punched the assassin out of the hotel.

Mon deactivated the Kryptonite emitter giving Kara relief. "Thanks," she said appreciatively and then looked over the woman. She scanned her for life signs. "She's barely breathing. Take her to the hospital," Kara requested.

"What about the fighter?" Mon asked.

"Leave him to me," Kara said angrily.

The assassin drove away, spooked by the presence of Superman and Supergirl in one night. "Superman saved Powell's mother. It was like he wasn't affected by the Kryptonite," he said to his employer.

The assassin then stopped his car as Supergirl appeared in front of him. "Fuck me," he realized.

Kara fired heat vision through his windshield and through his chest killing him on the spot. The car erupted in flames burning the body away. Kara walked over to the burning car. "Consider us even, asshole."

Kara then called up Brainiac 5. "I'm going to need a clean-up team."

The next day, Kara waited for Kon to exit his room. "So, is creepy lurking one of your powers, now?" he asked.

"Alright, smartass. Get downstairs. I want to talk to you," Kara ordered.

The two went downstairs where Kara opened a photo album showing her being a football kicker at Midvale High. "The fuck?" Kon wondered.

"When I was in high school, I was the star kicker for Midvale High. For a while, my mom wouldn't let me. I whined for the longest time. Finally, I broke her down and I tried out on one condition," Kara said.

"What was it?" Kon asked curiously.

"That I wouldn't seriously hurt anyone and that I wouldn't break any human records," Kara said.

"But those human records are weak-as-fuck," Kon protested.

"I know but we're guests here, Kon. We're not human. Not in a billion years could humans surpass the records we could make today. At the championship game, we were down by just one kick. One kick and we would have won it all. But it would have put me in the history books as the best kicker Midvale ever had. So...I missed the kick...and we lost," Kara said.

Kon gave his mother a look of wonder. He had never heard Kara admitting defeat. "I did it because I respected my mother's wishes. I respected what it means to be a guest on this planet, in this time period."

"Why did you even try out then?" Kon asked.

"Well, it ended up not having anything to do with the sport," Kara recalled.

"Was it a girl?" Kon asked knowingly.

"It's always a girl," Kara nodded.

"So, do you have any regrets?" Kon asked.

"Sure, not a day goes by that I don't think of what could have been. So, I need you to be honest with me, Kon. Is playing softball something you really want to do?" Kara asked bluntly.

"No," Kon shook his head.

"You can play baseball with the boys if you can promise you'll lower your power-level and not break any records," Kara allowed.

"Sure," Kon said wide-eyed.

"And your father is going to be an assistant coach so if you break my rules, he's going to beat your ass into the ground. You understand?" Kara asked him.

"Understood," Kon nodded.

That night, Kara was lost in thought as she looked over her web of connecting pictures all pointing to the Edge. "He may be an asshole after all," Kara considered.

"After what happened with Sharon Powell, I feel like such an idiot," Chrissy said embarrassedly.

"Well, good. Don't question my logic or instincts again," Kara said.

"It's just I've never had something like this fall into my lap before," Chrissy admitted.

"It shows," Kara agreed.

"These stories tend to not happen in Smallville," Chrissy said. "Well, not since the days of Chole Sullivan."

Kara simply gave her a blank look. "I got a picture of the guy from a gas station camera," Chrissy said helpfully. "This is big. Whoever he is, he went toe-to-toe with Superman."

"He won't be a problem for us anymore," Kara said vaguely.

Author's Notes: The cliche of a super bad guy killing off a contracted underling to close loose ends is corrected here. Aside from Sarah's nonsense, I'm enjoying the series so far. It will be a challenge going forward if Lois is always getting kidnapped and beaten down in every other episode and needing Superman to save her. There are some references to my Midvale prequel so check that out if you want more Kara adventures. Not sure why Clark didn't test Jonathon as well at the fortress just to be sure.

* Snyder's Justice League will likely be uploaded after the Superman and Lois Season finale.

* Due to Covid production delays Superman and Lois and Supergirl may have their finales at roughly the same time. My plan is to go with Superman and Lois until its finale and then rapidly upload Supergirl Season 6. If there is some glorious cliffhanger to Superman and Lois, it may be cut if it's not at all consistent with Supergirl Season 6. There may be a bunch of changes to both series going forward. I'm open to the possibility of doing Superman and Lois Season 2 but if I do it will instead feature Red Daughter, Lex Luthor, and the Russians.

*Adventures of Batwoman Season 2 takes place roughly the same time as Adventures of Supergirl Season 5.5. To account for this, Kara may often be gone from Smallville.

*Wandvision is going to be adapted in Adventures of Supergirl Season 7.
