Raw: October 22, 2012
Randy rubbed my back as he sat with me on the couch. "Why are we here?"
I looked at him. "I'm getting my match at Hell in a Cell. I don't have it yet."
"Oh, that's something you should get done."
"No kidding."
"So do you have a plan for Alberto Del Rio on Sunday?"
"I do have a plan. It should work quite well. I should have no problem defeating Del Rio."
"That's good. I'm excited to see you beat him."
"You should be. That's what you're supposed to do since you're my wife."
"Is it?"
"It is. I know you'd support me no matter what anyway because we both know you don't like Del Rio."
"I don't like Del Rio at all."
"Exactly. So you're just going to go ask AJ and get your match at Hell in a Cell, right? Shouldn't be that hard."
"Actually, it's a bit more complicated than that, Randy."
Randy raised an eyebrow. "How's that?"
"AJ likely isn't going to be Raw general manager anymore. I'll have to figure out who is replacing her for now and track them down."
"Why isn't AJ going to be general manager anymore?"
"I guess some people in the company believe that she's been fraternizing with the roster due to that business dinner she had with Cena."
"That's so dumb."
"No kidding. Cena doesn't even know at all."
"He doesn't?"
"No, he doesn't, and you're not telling him because that's her conversation to have with him."
"Noted. So you have no idea who's gonna take her place if she resigns?"
"I'd assume me if I had already decided to take a break from competition, but I haven't quite yet. The options I can see are not good for either of us."
"Well, that sucks."
"No kidding."
I looked at Randy as we watched as AJ announced that she was resigning from being general manager of Monday Night Raw and my father announced that Vickie Guerrero was in charge for now. "Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero? I don't like this one bit."
Randy shook his head. "It's not good for either of us."
"But Heyman was the other option. That would be even worse."
"I know you're not wrong there, but things aren't looking for either of us. Are you even going to be able to get your match with Eve?"
"I'll find a way. We've discussed the fact before that I'm very persuasive. If I somehow can't get Vickie to budge, I'll go talk to Booker."
"Do you think he'll be willing to budge?"
"Eve may be his assistant, but he's known me longer and likes me quite a bit. Plus Teddy Long also assists Booker, and we both know Teddy would side with me."
"That's true."
John walks up behind us. "You won't even have to worry about that. I'm going to go talk to Vince and fix all of this."
"Are you sure that's a good idea, John?" I ask.
"I'm in high favor with Vince. Let me go talk to him."
"I'm his kid. Maybe I should go do it."
"No, Marissa, I'll do it. See you two later."
Randy puts an arm around me as John walks away. "I don't like this."
I shake my head. "I don't either, but I don't think we'll be able to stop him."
"Yeah, when Cena is determined, there is no stopping him."
"I agree with you there. I think Chelle would be the only one with a chance, and she's at home with her baby right now."
"Yeah, so we should expect AJ to be done as general manager?"
"Yeah, I'm going to go talk to Vickie Guerrero."
"Good luck. Let me know how that goes."
"I will."
I walk into what is now Vickie Guerrero's office. "Hey, Vickie, got a minute?"
Vickie gives me a skeptical look from her desk. "What do you want, Marissa?"
"I just want to talk about a certain grievance I have and find a solution. You're in charge for now, so I believe you are the person that I need to go to about it."
"And what exactly is this grievance, Marissa?"
"Did you see my Divas Championship match against Eve last week?"
"I did."
"Well, that means we both know about her holding my trunks to pin me to retain the Divas Championship."
"And what do you want me to do about that?"
"I want another shot at her. I would prefer to have it this Sunday at Hell in a Cell. She hasn't beaten me clean. I deserve it."
"No."
"No?"
"That's what I said, Marissa. Is that something you're not used to?"
"I hear no plenty, Vickie. Guess I'll take a break from competing then. Ya know, you're only Managing Supervisor of Raw right now. That means the general manager role is still open. If I'm not going to wrestle, I might as well go tell my old man that I'm interested in the position. You and I both know how much Vince loves to put his children in the role of general manager."
Vickie sighs. "What do I need to do for you?"
"The only match I'm demanding is another shot at Eve for the Divas Championship, preferably at Hell in a Cell. I'd also like it if you didn't hold any bias against me or Randy."
"Is that all?"
"That's all. Can we agree to that?"
"I'm not going to show any bias against you or Randy. As for your Divas Champion match, if you want it to be at Hell in a Cell, it can't be a singles match."
"Why not?"
"Kaitlyn has already been granted an opportunity to face Eve for the Divas Championship at Hell in a Cell. If you do want the match at Hell in a Cell though, I can make it a Triple Threat."
"A Triple Threat with Eve and Kaitlyn for the Divas Championship? I can agree to that."
"So we have a deal?"
I nod. "Yes, Vickie, we have a deal."
