Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Blake Belladonna. Yang Xiao Long. Four girls who were destined to save Remnant. That is not that story for they screwed that up. No, this is the story of those girls thrown from their own world into the world of Grand Theft Auto, where they dived headfirst into the criminal underworld in hopes of survival. Four girls ready to rise as criminals, under Torchwick's own motto: Lie, cheat, and survive. This is their Los Santos Stories…
Blake was the first to awoke and moved Yang to the other seat to start the RV. She moved it a bit away from when they slept at. She wanted to find a proper hiding spot. As she looked around, the radio hummed to life.
[Cues: [97Chill Station] LAKEY INSPIRED – Me 2]
Slowly, the noise woke the other girls up.
"Please tell us the events of yesterday were a fever dream." Weiss said only to look around. "Shit!"
"Blake, where are we doing?" Yang asked.
"I'm looking for a place to park this thing." Blake remarked. "We need a place to hide…"
"What about that barn in the middle of the field?" Ruby said pointing to it.
Blake did not think it was a good idea, but she decided to try it. Of course, the Journey had to be carefully driven there.
"We need to form a plan of action, we're going to need weapons." Blake said.
"Maybe if Ivory didn't take them from us, we'd…"
"Only have for so long. I doubt this world has bullets for our weapons, we'd have to eventually modify them…which cost money we don't have." Blake said calmly. "Ironic, Ivory saved us the issue of that happening."
There was a knock on the door and Weiss opened it to see Ronl.
"Yo."
"How did you get h-"
"No time for that. I just needed to reawaken your auras." Ronl said as his eyes glowed.
"Wai-"
Team RWBY were consumed by a white light before it faded, they all looked frazzled before Ronl gave the explanation of what he just did.
"Ok, so to recap. What we have a 'gamer' system to allow us to store weapons, build weapon skills, store our money, check stats, mini-map, and a re-spawn system?" Ruby rattled off.
"It also shows you how much health, armor, and aura you have. And by armor, I mean body armor. It'll be an add-on that won't appear on your body. As for the respawn system, if you die…you'll wake up in the hospital with a bill and your weapons taken from you. Same with the police, if they bust you. You'd be let out with money taken and your weapons taken. But considering your women…try not to get to get caught by the cops." Ronl explained. "Also, it allows customization of outfits…allowing an automatic wash once a week. But you'll need a closet and a safehouse for that. Your 'aura' will also allow you to find 'glowing spheres' of items with weapons or tools. Allow will let you pick up cash and weapons from anyone you murder."
"Perfect. Did Ivory send something for us?" Blake asked.
"Oh, she did. 200 dollars for each of you, your new IDs, and a pistol for each of you. Your system will explain a thing or two if you experience something new. If you want your 'official paperwork', you'll need to get yourself a safehouse." Ronl said as the cash vanished and Team RWBY equipped a pistol.
They also looked at their new IDs.
"Because of your name, features, and skin tone, you match to traits from a certain place. For Ruby, Blake, and Yang, you got traits common in Asia. Both Blake and Yang got Japanese traits from your parents, and both Ruby and Yang got Chinese traits from your father. American trait also run into the two of you. As for Weiss, German. Straight up, her name is also a German phrase." Ronl said as the HUD on them revealed they now had a few new languages they could speak and understand.
Ruby got a message that because of her superb skill in weaponry, she got a mastery perk towards sniper rifles. Ronl also give them each a smartphone with a charger…he even mercifully gave them each a pair of earphones. He explained the purpose of the phones.
"The Bittersweet SIII Mini. Customized to your colors with your emblems on the back. You're welcome. And by the way, the boss will call you for a job on occasion. My advice to you is to find some more weapons, get some wheels, get some new clothes…and a bath before you get rank in your clothes." Ronl said before leaving for his car.
"Can you at least give us a hint to where to find some weapons? At least those we don't have to buy?" Ruby pleaded.
"This barn here belonged to a woman that an associate that Ivory's mother knew quite well. Weapons will probably still 'spawn' in the barn even if she isn't living here." Ronl said before winking. "Oh, and Weiss…you should be able to use your dust glyphs without dust…you just need more energy."
He sped away on his far as Blake turned off the radio smelling herself.
[Music Ends]
Ruby walked out of the RV before seeing an older model Sadler truck and a Bandito before spying the barn. She went in and called for the others. What they found was a Flamethrower, a set of Molotov Cocktails, a Pistol, and a damn Chainsaw floating in midair rotating in circles like game tokens.
"I'm taking the pistol." Blake said taking it as it vanished.
Her HUD showed that her gun had more clips available.
"Neat." Blake said.
"Flamethrower's mine." Yang said only for Blake to stop her. "Wait."
"Let Ruby or Weiss take it. Take the Chainsaw, you have the upper body strength for it." Blake affirmed as Ruby took the flamethrower.
Yang rolled her eyes taking the chainsaw as Weiss took the cocktails before they all left the barn.
"Ok, we need wheels." Blake said looking to the two vehicles. "Now while driving around, I saw a few car parks. We can do other thing and to look for wheels to steel or take these two. Personally, I don't know how fast the truck and this thing is too open for my liking."
"So, we're walking in the hot sun?" Yang said as Blake nodded. "Fuck!"
The sun beat down on them as they began their trek across the field. Weiss was sweating not used to the heat.
"Hey, I know this isn't the time, but when we get a chance…I want to look into the cultures of the countries we're from." Ruby said trying to cheer them up. "Something for us to do to raise morale."
"I know you said you couldn't be leader, but that does sound like a great idea." Blake said spying a gas station. "Ok, there's a gas station. Bound to be wheels there."
As they got to the street, they crossed it over to the station which was clearly out and had not been updated since the 1990s'. A blurb pinged up on their HUD.
[Gas Stations – As running out of gas isn't exactly anything you're going to have to worry about when handling vehicles thanks to the 'system', gas stations have other functions like being easy targets to rob, buy snacks, or buy Molotov cocktails.]
"One of the pumps has a glowing circle next to it." Weiss pointed out. "I'll go see how much the cocktails cost."
Before Weiss could even do that or the girls could even get to the parking lot. A pair of scrawny young punkish rednecks rode into the station on Sanchez dirt bikes armed for a robbery. One Lost MC member arrived at the same station with a Sawn-Off Shotgun.
"This is a rob-What?" They said looking to each other. "What the fuck is this shit?"
"Piss off ya Grease wannabe, this is our robbery!" The redneck cried out.
"Eat a load of shit, you inbred fucks. Or maybe you can eat a pair of bullets!" The biker snarled cocking the gun.
Blake realized that she was just handed a chance and crept behind before putting a bullet through the biker's skull nearly nicking the redneck's ear. The biker hit the ground as the redneck looked up at the Asian lady who just saved them.
"Uh…thanks." He remarked. "But this is still our robbery."
"Then you may want to turn around…" Blake warned as they stupidly did.
BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!
Weiss was one to do it. One was still breathing only for Yang to stomp out him until he was not breathing. Blake took the shotgun, the knife on him, the 500 on him, and the Revenant much to Yang's protest.
"I killed him, so I get the bike." Blake said flatly. "Yang, if you want one. Buy one or steal one."
The gas station worker inside came out with a bat only to see the fight was over.
"Oh…uh, you're not going to rob me, are you?" The worker asked only for Ruby to raise her pistol.
"I want the bat." Ruby said.
"Just the bat?" The worker said.
"And some snacks free of charge." Ruby said aiming it at his neck. "You can keep the cash, I just want some damn cookies."
Ruby was trying to sound intimidating, but she still came off as somewhat laughable given her clothes and the hood. However, the worker did see he was outgunned and outnumbered. He gave up the bat and let Ruby in to 'shop'. Weiss collected 200 from one of the rednecks along with his knife and a Mirco-SMG. She tossed Yang the other one's pistol. Yang did not take the knife wanting to keep her chainsaw. Yang only found a dollar on the other one. Ruby walked out of the store a paper bag.
"What did you get?" Yang asked.
"Cookies." Ruby said munching on some. "I also got donuts."
"I'm getting a coffee." Blake said going in.
"Wait, I just hope it's not crap." Weiss said going in.
"I'll check the parking lot for something else to drive. Dirtbikes are below me." Yang thought going over to the parking lot.
A Blista Compact, a beater Voodoo, and a bicycle. The Voodoo was a bit rusty, but the idea of getting it fixed up was tempting enough for her to take it. She got in looking around inside. The interior was a bit messy and dusty. However, as she found the key, she found 500 dollars in the dash, which she pocketed. She started it up.
"Engine's still good." Yang said looking at her phone.
She looked up places to get cars customized and she found a few. She put a tag on a location she found with a price she could afford. She drove it around front calling for Ruby to get in.
"I was actually going to take the dirt bike." Ruby said tossing Yang the bag. "There's some donuts for you."
"Thanks." Yang said as Weiss came out sipping her coffee.
Weiss would have complained about the car choice, but given they had no money…she just got in the car. She did want to drive a Sanchez in her clothes. Ruby revved her bike as Blake got on hers. A motorcycle helmet materialized on both their heads. Ruby's own was red with the visor styled like her emblem and Blake's was a sleek black with cat ears.
"So, clothes shopping first?" Ruby asked.
"I want to get this car fixed up. Don't worry, the price for it's cheap. And I found a bit of money in this old thing." Yang remarked stuffing a donut in her mouth. "A place for lowriders. It's in Los Santos…place in what's called Willowfield near Banning. Loco Low Co. We're going South."
"Ok, we can separate. But keep your phones on and active! We need to keep in touch in case. Ruby, you're with me." Blake said revving her engine. "We heading to find a cheap clothing shop."
They found drive into the city and split up. Weiss was on her phone using well into getting information on the lay of the city along with some German history. Yang had the radio on a rock station as Yang blazed through the streets with reckless abandon.
"This universe doesn't have Grimm at all…and no faunus either. Just humans and they really like fighting over their skin color." Weiss remarked. "By the way, we're riding into Ballas turf."
"Ballas?" Yang asked.
"African-American gang, dressed in purple, enemy of the Families…the gang in green." Weiss remarked. "Technically our enemy from what our HUD says."
"We haven't met them…so aren't we neutral?" Yang asked as Weiss asked.
"Yes, but if they find out we're under Ivory…that's not going to last." Weiss remarked as Yang pulled into the dead-end street.
"Found it…and check it out." Yang said pointing to a plain brown Savanna in a driveway of a house. "One of the supported vehicles the garage fixes up."
Weiss got out of Yang's car before walking towards it about to open it.
"I pray you don't think you can…"
Weiss instinctively got her Knife out pulling a move Winter had shown her before. She sank the knife into the Ballas' shoulder. Being she was shorter than him, she used the Knife to hoist herself up to headbutt him knocking him out.
"Damn, Schnee." Yang said impressed.
"Not exactly going to be merciful to other criminals." Weiss said taking the cash on him.
She ignored the bat not wanting to replace her knife. She got in the car and started it up. Yang had gone into Loco Low Co. first. What she got access to was a game menu straight out of a video game to decide on customization…not that she complained. She simply got her car painted to her color and added 2x Nitrous. Four hundred dollars that she thought was well spent as Yang exited the garage.
"Your turn." Yang said as Weiss drove in.
Yang noticed the Balla Weiss stabbed was getting up. Yang got out to make sure to ensure he'd be in no position for calling for help. Just one problem. He called the cops before Yang could deal with him. Weiss would come out of the garage feeling good about her as big wad of money from that Balla went straight into the car.
Painted dark blue with icy blue streak pattern (think Paintjob 3), interior colored ice blue, a Slamin' Bumper and Fender, Rimshine rims, and a soft convertible top to retract on and off. And she had 2,500 to spare.
Weiss wheeled it only to see Yang was not there. She called her.
"Yang?" Weiss remarked.
"Can't talk! Being chased by the police! That fucker you knocked out woke up and called the cops! I got a star!" Yang said before hanging up.
Then came the explanation of the wanted system…and Weiss knew she had to go help Yang.
-o-
As for Blake and Ruby, biking through the sights was a pleasing encounter. But it was a reminder of what they could not access just yet. Then came the alert about the wanted system from the HUD and that Yang was being chased by the cops.
"Fuck!" Blake spat. "C'mon, Ruby!"
Ruby and Blake raced off. Yang was speeding through the streets as a police car chased her.
"Stop in the name of the law!"
Yang was back in Banning trying to lose the officer before finding herself at a dead end. The police officer, a blonde woman herself, came out of her car with a pistol drawn.
"Let me see your hands, bitch!" She said inching closer.
Yang snarled. Yes, she still had her aura and semblance. However, getting shot still hurt. She got out of the car appearing unarmed only for the officer to nearly put one in her head nicking some of her hair. Yang's eyes went head as she got out the chainsaw…and that officer suddenly realized she should have called for backup.
"How about I call it off and let you go?" The officer said weakly. "No…look there's cash in my car. An easy 2k I got from the Ballas to let a few crimes off the hook."
"So, you're both a piece of shit and a corrupt asshole? Ok, then I have no guilt for this." Yang said swinging her chainsaw.
The badly cut officer fell on her ass dropping her police radio that Yang crushed under her foot. Then she swapped to the pistol and emptied a clip into her. Spat on the cop before taking the pistol and going for the cash in the car. Within the car, she found a Pump Shotgun with a few shells. She dragged the officer into the car right as her teammates caught up.
"Yang, what the hell did you do?" Blake asked.
"That Balla called the cops and then…shit got crazy. Look, Weiss…I need a cocktail." Yang said backing away from the car.
Weiss produced one and throw it on top of the car causing it to break out into flames.
"I got 2k from that asshole of a cop. You guys find anything?" Yang asked.
Blake's phone rang and she looked to see it was Ronl. She put it on speaker.
"Morning, Blake. I figured I'd check in on you and your friend. I got a personal job for you if you and your team want it." Ronl remarked. "Pay's 700 bucks each."
"This isn't from Ivory?" Blake asked.
"No, from me personally." Ronl remarked.
"What's the job?" Blake asked.
"Meet me at Café Redemption at West Eclipse Boulevard, Rockford Hills. Your HUD will show the mission marker on the map. I suggest you get there before I decide you want to waste my time." Ronl said. "Have a good day."
He hung up and Team RWBY got on the move. Speeding? Not a problem. Traffic? Nope. People in the way? A laugh. Weiss swore she hit someone, but she did not care one bit. Rockford Hills was the rich and ritzy part of Los Santos, a place that boasted fancy living. Ruby suddenly felt a bit self-conscious about the Sanchez.
"Guys, mind if I ditch the Sanchez and get something else?" Ruby said.
"Make it quick." Blake said as Ruby turned off down one of the streets.
Ruby slowed her drive being noticing what seemed to be private school students all gathered around a shiny Red Bullet. Ruby drove closer hearing the conversation.
"My dad got me this car to keep my mouth shut about something he was doing. I'm going to see if I can milk it for PlaySt-What the hell?!"
Ruby used her speed to ditch her Sanchez, get in the Bullet, and speed away with it.
"He can get another." Ruby rationalized before noticing the brat left a few thousand dollars in the glove compartment. "Yes, maybe I can buy some good cookies."
Ruby was a bit new to driving a car, but used what she knew to keep it steady. She caught up with her teammate parking her new wheels in the parking lot near the café.
"Ok, that's a pretty good upgrade." Weiss said as Ruby got out.
"Impressive. How did you get it?" Blake asked.
"Used my semblance to ditch the bike and steal the car right under the guy's nose. Even found 3,000 in the glove compartment." Ruby said with a smirk.
"That puts you all past $10,000." Ronl said surprising them all. "Impressive work. You're already showing the makings in less than a day."
He had appeared right behind of Weiss spooking her especially.
"The system tracks your overall accomplishment like overall money you made for example. As you climb up the ranks, you'll unlock new options and so on." Ronl mused. "But let's go on in the café. Lunch is on me."
The group were sat at the café munching at their meals.
"If your mission was to join you for lunch, then you are my favorite boss instead of Ivory." Yang said. Don't tell her I said that."
"I won't and this isn't the mission. I have a friend in some help." Ronl said as the four looked intently at him. "I need you to this taichi class at the nearby gym with her."
Ruby blinked, Weiss sipped her drink, Blake looked relived, and Yang's eye twitched.
"That's the mission? But that's bor-"
"Yang, we've being paid to take a class at a ritzy gym. Are you really going to complain?" Weiss snapped.
"Not all your missions are going to be exciting capers. Some will be mundane, some may have risk having no reward, and some will be flat out insane." Ronl said. "Speaking of mundane, your team name. Considering your change in leadership, I did you a favor and used a generator to form team names you can pick from later."
The four got a text as they looked on their phones right as the woman in question showed up. She towered over the girls appearing a lot older than them. It did not dissuade her looks as she was in good shape with a muscled and ample frame that she showed off with her purple ProLaps track top, matching shorts, and sneakers. Her white skin had a slight tan from the sun and her short blonde hair was kept up with a back bun with fringe off the side of her face befitting her blue eyes. She sat next to Ronl.
"Mary-Ann, good to see you again. You look like you ran a marathon." Ronl said calmly.
"I did a run against Ivory. So close to beating, but she overtook me. Cheeky bitch…I can't stand losing to her, but I respect her craft." Mary-Ann said with a sour grin. "Her awakening my aura did make me stronger, but…"
"It's impressive that even if you got your aura awakened so late that you've gotten stronger, Mary. Be proud of that." Ronl said as Mary-Ann's face show signs of a blush.
She was not one to get flattery all too often.
"Anyway, let me introduce you. Girls, this is Mary-Ann Quinn, Senior Vice-President of ProLaps' LS Branch." Ronl said. "Mary-Ann, these are the four fallers. Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang."
"Jeez, I know you said you had people, but aside from the blonde and Japanese one, they barely look like they can lift." Mary-Ann said. "I know I have a bit of a…"
"I know, but you needed people considering it's a women-only class. Plus, these four were willing to help you out, plus look at them. They've been overcompensating with their aura and could use the exercise to strengthen themselves to better converse and better use aura. Yang's their bruiser and you can swat her like a bug." Ronl said Yang glared at him as Mary-Ann laughed.
"Wait, you're from Remnant?" Ruby asked.
"No. I knew Ivory's mother briefly before meeting Ivory later down the road. It's funny because her mother shot the guy that was my old manager for his car in '92 allowing for me to get promoted. I would meet Ivory years later. She awakened my aura…and let me in on a few secrets. We're rivals, of sorts." Mary-Ann explained.
"Well, that's neat…I guess." Weiss said.
"Also, you're going to have to give her a ride to the gym. I'll have the money sent to you when you're done. Have fun." Ronl said before pulling a ninja vanish with a smoke bomb.
"Was that really needed?" Weiss asked before seeing he left money for the bill.
"Ok, one of you is going is drive her. I have a motorcycle…so…not me." Blake said.
"Not it." Ruby said.
"Not it." Yang said as Weiss balked.
"Great…just great." Weiss whined as they all left the café.
Heading for their rides, Ruby spied the bloke she stole the car from trying to get in the car.
"Excuse me, that's mine." Ruby said walking up.
The rich kid decided to raise a pistol to which all four girls raised their weapons. Mary-Ann, not in the mood, walked up to the brat and slammed his head into the wall knocking him out before tossing him aside. Ruby promptly took the contents of his wallet before getting in her car. They all left…ready to start their first 'mission'.

(A/N: And that's a wrap. Why place the story in 2016? Simple, it's a gap year with no missions from Online. Just enough time to pass for the main story, but not too much before we get stuff for Ivory and Ronl to do. Seeing that not all Strangers and Freaks missions are required for 100% completion and there are cut content, I have plenty of stuff for RWBY to do. But speaking of that, they need a new team name. What are the options now that Blake's leader?
BRSY (Bloodthirsty = #880011)
BRWY (Breakaway = #CEDAC3)
BRWY (Breezeway = #D6DBC0)
BRWY (Broadway = #434442)
BRYW (Brandywine = #490206)
BSRY (Basketry = #BDA286)
BYSR (Bayshore = #89CEE0)
I already got one for BRYW and two for BRWY, so come on and tell me before I make a decision. For those who know Mary-Ann Quinn…well she chilled out (somewhat) after the events of the game. Hitting 40 got her to finally pause some of the anger. Next time on Los Santos Stories: Hot for Tai Chi.)
