SmackDown Filming: October 30, 2012

I walk with Randy to our locker-room. "Have I looked bloated to you today?"

Randy raised an eyebrow as he grabbed my hand. "No, why are you asking me that?"

"I feel like I'm really bloated today."

Randy gave me a concerned look. "I don't think you look bloated, Rissa."

I smile. "Thanks, Randy."

Randy shook his head as we turned a corner. "So how are you feeling about just managing me since that's what you're doing now?"

"I'm pretty thrilled. I won't have to worry about my matches. You win a lot, especially when I'm around. Just look at your match against Wade Barrett last night."

Randy nods as we enter our locker-room. "That went pretty well, huh?"

"Yeah, it did, and you have a rematch tonight."

"Works for me." Randy starts changing into his gear as I sit down on the couch.

"Yeah, you can clearly beat him. Hell, I've beaten him." I comment as I receive a text.

Randy gave a soft laugh. "Yeah, you have. Who's texting you?"

I look at my phone. "Chelle, let me read it."

Chelle: Looks like the fans value you quite a bit. Is all of this true?

The text includes a link. I click on the link. It leads me to a dirt sheet article. The article was titled "Major Hit to WWE's Divas Division." I started reading the article.

In recent years, the Divas division in WWE has seemingly been getting worse, with less and less Divas actually been credible wrestlers.

Despite this, there have been a few Divas who have still been well-skilled in the squared circle, most notably Marissa Orton and Beth Phoenix, who ended their year-long rivalry just a couple months ago in an Ambulance match at SummerSlam. However, it seems the Divas division lost quite a bit of talent after last night's Raw.

According to reports, Beth Phoenix had her last match with WWE on Raw last night against Marissa Orton. It seems that Beth Phoenix has requested and been granted her release from WWE. This is an unfortunate hit to the talent in the Divas division.

However, it wasn't just Beth Phoenix who has decided to step away from the squared circle for now. It is also being reported that Marissa Orton has requested to step away from being an in ring competitor for now and has decided to just be the manager for her husband, Randy Orton, for the time being. While there is a clear opening for Marissa to return to competing whenever she decides to, it is unclear when she will be doing so.

Marissa and Beth were highly considered to be the two most talented Divas remaining in the division these days. The two essentially carried the Divas Championship title picture for the past year with their rivalry, and both have been prominent in the championship scene for the Divas for the past five years. It will be interesting to see how WWE decides to fill this gap.

One person who will seemingly not be filling this gap is DJ Hardy. DJ Hardy has not been around for about a year and a half in WWE due to her pregnancy. In January, she gave birth to a daughter, McKenna, with her husband, Mike Mizanin, known to fans as the Miz. However, it is being reported that sometime within the past few days, DJ has also requested her release. DJ and Miz are going through a divorce, so that may have played a role in this. Despite showing a lot of potential, DJ Hardy is likely done with WWE. We will keep you posted as we learn more details about the situations for all three women.

I sigh before texting Chelle back.

Me: It's all true, even the part about DJ.

Randy looks at me. "Is everything alright?"

I nod. "Yeah, she sent me a link to a dirt sheet article."

"Oh, I see."

"Apparently with both Beth and I not wrestling for the time being, the Divas division has taken a huge hit."

"You're not regretting this already, are you?"

"No, I need a break. I'm just glad that I'm getting appreciated. I'm curious to see who steps up though."

"No kidding. Anyway, I still don't really know why Eve was nice to you last night, but I think I have an explanation for why Beth was so nice to you."

"Really? Why's that?"

"Apparently, Beth has been dating a certain friend of ours."

"What friend?"

"She's dating Adam."

"Adam? Like Adam Copeland? Mister Rated R Superstar, Edge? Wow. That's interesting."

"Yeah, apparently he's been dating Beth for a while and told her that he quite values you as a friend. He made it clear that if they were going to date, she was going to have to at least tolerate you being around sometimes because you're his friend and married to me, one of his best friends."

"That's good. Give me a minute." I rush over to the trash can in the locker-room and start throwing up.

Randy rushes over to help hold my hair back. "Are you alright?"

I continue throwing up some. "I have no idea."

Randy rubs my back. "I'm right here. I got you."

I finish throwing up. "Thanks. That was gross."

"Are you gonna be alright?"

I sigh after throwing up. "I think so."

"I hope you realize that there's no way that I'm allowing you to manage me tonight now."

I laugh as I sit back down on the couch. "If I were you, I wouldn't be letting me either."

"Do you think you're sick?"

"I felt fine until that moment. Maybe I ate something."

"Yeah, maybe you ate something."

"I'm sure I'll be fine."

"I'll send Ted to stay in here during my match just in case you're not fine."

"Okay. Thanks, babe."

"No problem. I just want you to be healthy. The last thing we need right now is health problems."

"I'm sure I'm fine, Randy. Just worry about your match against Wade Barrett."

Ted looked at me as we sat in my locker-room to watch Randy's match against Wade Barrett. "Are you sure that you're not sick?"

I sigh. "Ted, I appreciate your concern, but I only threw up once and have felt fine outside of that. I don't think I'm sick."

"Yeah, if you are, I better not catch it."

I roll my eyes. "I'm not sick. I just threw up once. I probably just ate something that didn't agree with me."

"I hope that's all it is, Marissa."

"Stop being overdramatic, Ted. I'm fine."

"If you say so."

We watch as Wade pins Randy to win after distractions from both Ricardo Rodriguez and Alberto Del Rio.

"This is bullshit." I comment. "If I was out there, this wouldn't have happened."

Ted gives me a serious look. "We both know Randy was not going to let you go after throwing up like you did."

I sigh. "I know."

I sighed as I opened the box of letters before pulling out the letter numbered thirty-one and put on my reading glasses. My day hadn't been that good, so I figured reading a letter couldn't do too much harm.

Randy looks at me as he exited the bathroom. "Reading a letter?"

I nod. "Yeah, my day kinda sucked already, so I figure there's wrong with reading one."

"Alright, just so you know, we got invited to dinner with my parents on Thursday, so we'll go if you're feeling up to it."

"Okay. I'm gonna read now."

Date: January 9, 2005

Dear Marissa, tonight, Colby got me to watch the pay per view that was on. I think it was called New Year's Revolution. According to Colby, it was the first pay per view that you've been around during a match for.

You were being a manager to Trish Stratus, who won the Women's Championship. Colby explained what your role was supposed to be. I think you did well. I'm proud of you.

Speaking of Colby, I really appreciate the fact that despite our issues, you are still talking to him quite a bit. Thank you.

Love, Mom

I smile at Randy as I put the letter away. "That one wasn't even bad."
