Sesshoumaru saw his mistake. While expecting her to think only of him, he'd been thinking only of himself. An imbalanced approach.

Intent on forming stronger opinions, he applied himself with absolute diligence. Her scent. Her sounds. Her savor.
Sesshoumaru was startled to find her in distress. Pulling away, he stated, "You are unharmed."
"I know." She was breathless. "But I'm not necessarily safe."
"From me?" Should he be insulted?
"From curiosity."
Intriguing. Perhaps the first time in his life, Sesshoumaru tried to see himself through her eyes.
