January 4

It was another cold morning but I've actually grown to like mornings like this. We spent it cuddling under the blankets as a family again and it was so nice and relaxing.

Shortly after breakfast, Inuyasha went out to get some things while I stayed home with Moroha. I had her sitting in a baby swing (fantastic investment by the way. I'm so glad Inuyasha and I bought this a few months ago) while I cleaned the kitchen and put together a plate of food for Nico.

But then Moroha started to get a little fussy. I wondered why. I had just fed and changed her. What could possibly be wrong now?

"What's the matter, sweetie?" I said as I went over to her. I picked her up and started to rock her. "Shh, don't cry, my love. Mommy is here."

After a couple of minutes, she started to calm down and soon she was smiling. Moroha's smile is so cute. It fills me with such an overwhelming love for her.

"No need to cry, my little angel. Mommy is here to make it all better."

Then the front door opened and Inuyasha was home. "Having fun here?" he said as he put down the firewood.

"Yes, Moroha needed some hugs and now she's feeling a lot better."

"That's good." He put his arms around me and I shivered when he kissed my cheek.

"Your lips are so cold!"

He laughed. "Sorry about that. I went over to Miroku and Sango's house. The kids are playing in the snow. Shippo and Rin are there too. Do you want to drop by?"

"Maybe for a little while. We probably shouldn't have Moroha out in the snow for very long."

"You're right. Just for a little while. I think she'll have fun."

So we made sure she was dressed warmly and put on warm clothes ourselves. I had her in the baby carrier again as we headed to our friend's house.

"Look, they're here!" Shippo said as he was the first to see us.

"Hey, guys!" Inuyasha said.

"Look at all these snowmen," I said. They had made about 6 snowmen so far and were working on the next one.

"They're snowmen and snowwomen," Mieko corrected me.

I giggled. "Sorry, my mistake."

"We're making a snow army," Sango said as she was helping the kids roll up a big snowball.

"The kids have informed us that the house needs protection from demons," Miroku added.

"You have very proactive kids," Inuyasha replied.

Midori ran over to me. "Auntie Kagome, can Moroha come help us?"

I bent down next to her and patted her head. "Not right now, she's not big and strong enough yet. But it's her first snow day with you guys so she's really excited." Moroha smiled at Midori and put her gloved hand in her mouth.

Midori giggled. "She has a cute smile."

Inuyasha helped them work on the snow army. I stood nearby with Moroha providing commentary on the whole thing while my sweet husband checked up on us every few minutes.

Then Shippo was planning something. While Inuyasha wasn't looking, he gathered up a pile of snow. He noticed that I had seen him and gestured for me to be quiet and I nodded. I would have told Yasha, I really would have, but I also knew his reaction to whatever Shippo was going to do would be really funny.

Shippo transformed into his pink bubble form and floated over to Inuyasha with his pile of snow. I noticed Inuyasha's ear twitch so he knew something was amiss but before he could react Shippo dumped the snow on him.

"Ahh!"

Everyone else started laughing while Shippo changed into his normal self and looked innocent.

"Shippo, I know that was you!" Inuyasha exclaimed as he brushed the snow off.

"You can't prove that."

"I don't need to! I'm still going to kick your ass!"

"Language!" Rin said gesturing to the small children who were looking on with amusement.

"Don't ever repeat what Uncle Inuyasha says, kids," Sango said with a sigh.

"Yes, mommy," they replied.

We watched as Inuyasha chased Shippo around. He eventually caught him and beat him into the snow. Once Inuyasha felt like he had gotten a sufficient amount of revenge, he walked back over to the snowmen with a look of satisfaction on his face.

Miroku grabbed Shippo by the tail and pulled him out of the snow. "Maybe one day you'll learn not to mess with Inuyasha, Shippo."

Maybe one of these days but I have a feeling that day isn't going to come any time soon.
