"Is that all you got!?" David laughed as Diamond, Spade, Strong and Spark were all on the ground in front of him. He had a few scrapes and cuts on him, and although these mages of Dealer were somewhat strong, their combined efforts still paled in comparison to his own strength. "I haven't even gotten started yet. Don't tell me this is the best you all can do?"

"Damn, he's way above our paygrade…" Diamond admitted, placing her hands on the ground as he attempted to push herself up. "This is the kinda guy Joker would have a field day with…but he's got his own mission."

"Do we retreat?" Spark asked while looking at the others.

"We can't." Spade told his younger brother. "Had we been able to dispatch him with our assault, this would've been a non-issue, but now this powerful mage has us in his sights. The only way we're going to leave is if we defeat him, or if we fall."

"I was always a fan of the straightforward approach too!" Strong was the first one back up. Truthfully, if they had any chance of defeating David, it was Strong. Strong's sheer might rivalled any ace in terms of pure power. Magically he was lacking compared to others, but when it came to his muscles, he made up for it. "STRONG SWING!" Strong slammed his club down at the ground, shattering it with the force, sending multiple shockwaves towards David as the ground crumbled under his feet.

"Heh! That's more like it!" David grinned and leapt forward, choosing to deal with Strong headfirst while jumping over the shockwaves. Sharp rocks covered his arm as he reared it back; soon swinging it once he was within range. "Earth Devil's IMPACT!" His fist came barreling towards Strong's chest. Strong too the hit like a champ, but still coughed profusely upon impact. "Still standing!?" David was enjoying this. He went to pull his arm back, but numerous thick vines wrapped around the limb from the ground. "Huh?"

Strong used this chance to swing at David once more. "Megaton Swing!" This swing carried all of Strong's weight, and he was a big man as well. So this one held considerable force as it slammed against David's chest. Even with Strong's might, the ace of Red Falcon didn't so much as stagger back a single step, but in this case, only because he had to hold his ground just a little bit. "No dice!?"

"I like strong guys like you, but you've still got a long way to go if you wanna arm wrestle with me." David said while slamming his skull into Strong's head, crushing him into the dirt with the impact.

"Oh that's bad…" Diamond grit her teeth before pointing her hands forward, a blue magic circle appearing in front of her. "Diamond Dust!" From the magic circle, a potent blizzard shot forward, cold enough to freeze anything it touched. The air and ground struck by this blizzard was instantly frozen over.

David recognized the threat this attack held and dealt with it accordingly. He slammed his foot on the ground, creating at thick wall of earth in front of him to shield him from the blizzard. As expected it was frozen over, but this bought him the time he needed to encase his body in hardened earth. Diamond lunged through the blizzard, swinging her Break Hammer at the man, but he caught the mallet in his palm. The force of the Break Hammer did crack his newly crafted armor, much to his surprise. "Tough, but not enough!" He exclaimed while slamming Diamond into the ground with incredible force.

"Not good…" Spade grit his teeth.

"Target locked! Let's strike!" Spark said with a firm nod.

"Right! Missile Barrage!" Spade and Spark put their efforts together for a unison raid. Multiple magic seals, blue and red, appeared in front of them, shooting off high powered, electrically charged missiles bombarding David, multiple explosions occurring. "This is the big one! FIRE!" A gigantic blue and red missile fired off at the epicenter of the explosions, resulting in a pillar of blue and red lightning that towered into the sky. There was a thick cloud of electric smoke lingering in the air as everyone waited for the result.

"Did we get him…?" Strong asked?

"…No." Spade grit his teeth. As the smoke cleared, David stepped forward, his armor only broken apart, but he himself was fine.

"Not too bad. But not good enough…" David then began to inhale, sharp rock and earth swirling around his mouth. "Earth Devil's Rage!" Lurching forward, the Green Eyed Devil opened his mouth, releasing a powerful torrent of earth that completely swallowed up Diamond, Spade, Spark, and Strong. They stood no chance against it and were all taken out in one fell swoop.

"And in a shocking turn of events, David Straun has defeated four mages of Seven! This means he gains 20 points in a single fight!" Chapati exclaimed. Minstrel had fallen well behind because of the stunt Joya pulled in the last main day, so David was just making up the difference. They now stood at 90 points, now tying with Bosco for last place. It was a bit of a climb as Pergrande had a 45 point difference, but as far as David was concerned, that was only 9 fights he had to win at most.

"Heh…" David cracked his neck. "Those kids sure know how to get the blood pumpin', but it wasn't enough for a warm up…

Renae swung her sword a few times, sending sharp shockwaves of plasma Daryan's way. They were exceedingly dangerously, forcing Daryan to leap away from each and every single on that came his way. If he wasn't careful, a single hit from what of those would deal a bit too much damage to him, but he was a fan of the challenge. Without even needing to get close, he decided to launch an attack. "Skeletal Dragon's Roar!" He opened his mouth, sharp bones flowing outward in a torrent towards Renae.

Renae held her weapon up, the magical artifact, Focus. It's form shifted from a katana to a plasma shield, which was more than capable of withstanding the oral attack, the bones simply just burning due to the heat from the plasma. The Martell was completely unharmed from the attack. Wordlessly, the shield turned into a whip, which she swung forward to wrap around Daryan's ankle. "Go down nicely for me, will you?"

"Shit!" Daryan felt the plasma burn his skin. He didn't even have the chance to try and mitigate it as he was immediately hurled into a rock, shattering it on impact. He was on the losing end of this fight; Renae was definitely no slouch but it made him grin. "Hah…not bad…" She was smart too; she targeted his ankle because that lingering burn was going to slow him down. "But I don't go down that easy, you know? I got a beautiful lady to have a rematch with."

"You'll have to postpone your date." Renae pointed a finger forward, sending a thin, but potent beam of plasma in Daryan's direction. "Plasma Torch!" She exclaimed, though Daryan was fast enough to duck to the side. The beam was small but powerful as it burned a hole through another rock behind him. "…"

"Sorry, but it's my duty to be right on time! Take this!" Daryan formed a bone within his hands and hurled it forward like a boomerang. Renae wasn't going to humor it and simply turned Focus into a Katana to slice it in half. As soon as she did, Daryan snapped her fingers and the two pieces that flew next to her body exploded, catching her by surprise.

"Hnk…!?" Renae recoiled from the magical explosion. She clearly wasn't expecting this, giving Daryan the opening he needed to make a move.

"Skeletal Dragon's Iron Graveyard!" Slamming his hands on the ground, it began to rumble and split apart, sharp bones encased in iron shooting up from the ground to impale Renae. This was an opponent he had to attack hard and fast, even if he was attempting to withhold his magic for later fights. Renae did suffer a direct hit, numerous bones piercing her in a few places, but she was able to contort her body in such a way that the injuries wouldn't slow her down. "Huh…you reacted fast enough."

"Now it's my turn." Renae brushed off the hit and started to levitate, shooting towards Daryan at surprising speeds. She faked him out with a swing, flipping over him at the last second. She tricked him into swinging, while she sat on his shoulders, legs wrapping around his neck. Since her primary magic was plasma, that made her skin just as hot to the touch. She squeezed her thighs around his neck and slammed him into the stone ground with considerable force, leaving Daryan groaning from the heat. She flipped back, prepared to attack with her katana once more, but had to stop as an iron bone shot up from in front of her, aimed for her abdomen. At the last second, she shifted her body to the side, grimacing as her leather jacket was sliced.

Before Renae could leap away too far, Daryan extended the bones in his arm, extending his reach to catch her ankle. His bones were reinforced with iron and fire, so he could fight back against her natural heat. "Let's see how you like it!" He stood up and whipped Renae into a tree, the force of impact causing the tree to topple over. Renae was tumbling along the ground, but Daryan pursued as he briefly activated his triple mode: Skeletal Iron Flame. He just needed to sparingly use his big attacks to converse energy, rather than let it all loose at once. "Skeletal Iron Dragon's Blazing Hell!" Daryan pointed both hands forward, releasing a conjoined blast of bone, fire, and iron towards Renae as she attempted to recover.

Renae wasn't going to have any time to dodge in her current situation, but this Martell was far from out of tricks. "Plasma Eruption!" She exclaimed, a dome shamed field of plasma appearing around her, shielding her within a few yard radius. Daryan's attack was a bit stronger than this force field could withstand, so it ultimately cracked and Renae had to deal with the attack, but the damage wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been. Focus took the shape of a new weapon; a bow and she pulled the bowstring back, angling her shot into the air. "Plasma Shot." She released the bowstring, a single arrow of plasma firing off into the air…which then split into dozens of arrows, now coming down to rain on Daryan.

"Oh shit." Daryan gulped. He didn't have many defensive techniques in his arsenal, and it looked like he was going to have to bring out a big one rather quickly. "Arise!" He commanded a large, several foot tall skeleton to rise up from the ground, serving as a shield to protect Daryan. His ability to create and command undead soldiers was no doubt a useful asset, but against an opponent like Renae, it was hardly going to do him any good when she proved her arsenal was good enough for crowd control.

Renae raised a brow, somewhat intrigued as the skeletal warrior rose and fell to protect the dragon slayer. "Despite your demeanor, you truly do live up to that S-class status. However, as a Martell, I'm inclined to win."

"As Bosco's shining star, it's important that I win no matter the cost." Daryan grinned while his body started to change. Left with no other options, he decided to enter his Cursed Dragon mode. It was now or never; if he didn't give Renae all of his efforts, he may not make it to even see the next hour! "Cursed Dragon! Let's rock!" The bones in his arms turned as sharp as blades and he sprinted forward, the air of Magic Barrier particles following him.

"I was expecting this." Renae said while narrowing her eyes. Daryan was an extremely dangerous opponent to let roam free, being able to use Magic Barrier Particles at will. She didn't expect to escape without some exposure, but based on the performance with Kagura, she knew he could only use a very small amount. Focus turned into twin blades and she lunged forward, combating Daryan in close quarters. She excelled in this area, landing more hits against him than he did her. That said, any small hit for Daryan was a victory, since even the smallest cut across Renae's stomach was laced with magic barrier particles.

"It won't slow you down now, but later, I'll have the last laugh. If you make it that far!" Daryan managed another hit across Renae's left shoulder, but in return she struck him with a cross slash against his chest. This made him recoil for a second, but his pain tolerance was extremely high in this form, allowing him to sneak in another hit. He aimed a fist at Renae's cheek, but she dodged it and then jumped back a few feet. She couldn't afford to stay too close to Daryan at the moment.

"You're quick, but can you dodge this!" Daryan was in hot pursuit, leaping into the air as a bone appeared within his hands and he swung down at Renae. "Cursed Dragon's Spike!" Renae jumped into the air at the point of impact. She recalled how Daryan used this against Kagura and her prediction was right; the spikes of bone rose up from the ground and she was able to land atop them without any damage. "You dodged that…!?"

Renae turned Focus back into a whip, using this moment of surprise to lash at Daryan and send him into the ground. As he attempted to recover, she lunged down, swinging her whip wildly in a way that Daryan could hardly defend himself from. "Feel the heat!" Daryan was sent crashing into the ground when Renae finished but to her surprise, he stood right back up, despite the condition of his body. "Still…?"

"That all you got?!" Daryan laughed, blood dripping from the cuts on his body. He shook his head, giving Renae a challenging smile. "Come on, hit me harder! Think you can finish me off before those magic barrier particles get you!?"

Renae was sweating a little bit. Even the tiniest exposure to those particles could slow someone down immensely. She could already feel it cycling through her system, but since it was far from lethal, it just made her feel a bit heavier than usual. "It will be no problem. I don't fail my missions." Renae lifted her hands above her head, channeling magic into the space above her. A ball formed, slowly growing with each passing second.

"So this is what we're doing, huh? I'll take you out first!" Daryan knew he wouldn't make the sprint if he tried it, so he had to attack from a stationary position. Despite the fact he was taking a lot of his and still standing, he was just soaking up the damage at this point, so he had to make his final stand here. "Cursed Dragon's Roar!" He exhaled, sending a mixture of curse and magic directly at Renae.

"Supernova." Renae said calmly, throwing the sphere of plasma at the incoming roar. The two attacks collided in the middle of the field, a fierce gust of wind kicking up. There was going to be no stalemate in this case, as one attack clearly overpowered the other at the end of the day. The only indication of a victor was a one-sided explosion.

Hiruka was flying up above. He saw the large skeleton Daryan attempted to summon only moments prior and flew as fast as he could, only to be met with a smoke cloud. From above, he stared with bated breath as the smoke cleared. The winner between Renae and Daryan was…

"And with that victory, Renae Martell gains another fight points for Minstrel, pushing them past Bosco into 6th place with 95 points. How quaint." Queen Ice reported.

"Daryan's down!" Hiruka mentally reported to Magnus. But in his panic, he alerted Renae to his position. Without only the slightest bit of hesitation, Renae fired off a beam of plasma to strike the Exceed's wind, only scorching it enough to send him crashing into the ground. "Ack…!"

"Sorry kitty…I really don't want to do this…" Renae's eyes even told the story. She felt like a monster attacking such a cute cat…but she had to do it for Minstrel's status. She swung Focus down as a blade for a swift finish, but to her surprise, another blade clashed with hers. It happened so fast, there was a cloud of smoke shrouding the mystery challenger.

"H-Huh…?" Hiruka was just as surprised.

As the smoke cleared, it was revealed that the one who attacked Renae was Kagura. Her eyes narrowed as she seemed a bit annoyed at the tail end of the fight she just witnessed. "Kch…"

"A little too slow to save him, I take it?" Renae asked, but she wasn't being taunting about it. Her expression was nothing but serious. She and Kagura held the blade struggle before they both jumped back. "But I don't see why you'd put so much effort into saving the little cat." Like she wouldn't do the same thing in different circumstances.

"Easy points." Kagura said.

"That's hurtful…" But not unture. Hiruka was pretty much in the middle of these fierce swordswomen preparing to duke it out. He was going to try and fly away, but he was promptly stopped when Kagura put him within a gravity bubble that prevented him from moving. "H-Hey!?"

"When I'm finished with her, you're next." Kagura warned. She didn't want her marks going anywhere.

"That's fine. I could use the extra points." Renae said confidently. "Facing off against one of Fiore's most renowned swordswoman is the perfect way to show the world that Royal Viper is not a guild to take lightly."

"Don't underestimate Mermaid Heel." Kagura warned, sliding into position. "This Mermaid has consumed many a beast…a Viper is no different prey."

Zelos, Ultear, and Meredy could at least watch the final event as it was occurring. They didn't have to sit around and twiddle their thumbs. "Things are looking pretty intense out there." Meredy remarked. "It's still so early in the day…do you really think it'll last the whole 24 hours?"

"For our sake, I hope it does." Ultear sighed. "We need as much time as we can get."

"I dunno…I think it will." Zelos surmised. "Joya's a big place and the compeititon is stacked. It's not about just fighting either, team survival is important. And half of Joya, and nearly half of Seven have been wiped out."

"Serves Joya right." Ultear scoffed. She was understandably bitter. "And that boy Beat…I feel so bad for him."

"…" Meredy looked down at the ground. She was aware why Beat was fighting so hard, because he lost everything to angels and took it out on Mii. "I understand where he's coming from. If it wasn't for you, UI, I might've ended up the same way. Even though he's surrounded by all those comrades, it doesn't look like any one of them could help his scarred heart…and now it's still twisted up in revenge."

"…" Ultear didn't say anything. She just sighed heavily. It was hard for her to watch a kid in pain like that; her maternal instincts from her time with Meredy were the ready why. "I hope it's not too late for him to turn around on his path of self-destruction…"

"That medicine he consumed is all manufactured in Joya." Zelos explained, not turning his gaze away from the screen. "You noticed how he looked like monsters in the Day 3 event, right? Well…you can do with that information what you will. But ultimately he'll be fine, it was a small dose. Still it's pretty scary how far he was willing to go just to kill Mii-chan…kid's these days are really determined. Watching Wendy-chan and Cynthia-chan fight so hard in the Grand Magic Games and all other fights before made me think that was a good thing, but I never thought there could be such darkness in a kid's heart…it's up to the people around him to give him light. But I can see dear old Waltz didn't care about that."

"Zelos…?" Ultear tilted her head. That was the first time she heard him say something so serious.

"But I guess I can't blame Beat…he's a kid. And Mii-chan was willing to bear his anger even though it did her no good, despite how she feels right now…" Zelos was just talking to himself at this point. Once he realized that, he turned around and smiled at Ultear and Meredy. "Ah, but you know? I never did realize that I have a mother-daughter duo in here with me just now! I bet Macao and Wakaba are very jealous of me!"

"…" Meredy, deciding to ignore that remark, just looked at Zelos. "…I don't need my magic to see that you're sad about something…"

"Me? Sad?" Zelos laughed it off. "I wonder what about…"

After the encounter with that small group of mages a while ago, Alice casually walked through a field of flowers. She loved the sight of the flowers and knelt down to pick one up for a keepsake. But her hastened curiosity reminded her of her fate. The moment she touched the flower, it withered and died in her hand. "Oh…" How sad. She frowned and turned around, unsurprised by the sight: dead flowers wherever she walked. Even though she attempted to keep her power in check, she was just unable to stop the death and decay of everything around her. The demon dragon tilted her head, her frown soon turning into a pained smile. "Everything I touch turns to nothing…"

Edna slowly approached from the other side of the flower field, making sure to keep her distance. The lazy crystal dragon didn't really want to fight too many people…and it didn't look like Alice was in much of a fighting mood either. She knew Alice, but Alice didn't remember her. So she took a seat on her knees in front of the Demon Dragon during this moment of somberness. "Hey."

"…You're an enemy." Alice didn't look at Edna, but her draconic form hidden in the skies above was glaring down at her. "I'll make short work of you."

"I don't really wanna fight." Edna admitted, lying back in the flowers, peering up at the slowly enclosing barrier. There was still a bit of time until it reached the flower field. "I just wanted to talk. You got missing memories, right?"

"How do you know that…" Alice turned to Edna. "Her Majesty said she was looking into my memories, but hasn't been able to find anything. So how do you know…?"

"Of course she wouldn't." Edna yawned. "You were taken away from us at a very young age…I may have been a hatchling when you were taken and the Isle was formed…but we're dragons, you and I. I don't…know what they did to you that makes all that happen." She was referring to the dead flowers around Alice. "But you have a sister who loves and misses you very much."

"A sister…?" Alice blinked a few times.

"Her name is Venoma." Edna said. "She told me you, her, and my brother Eizen were all good friends in the days of old…and you really liked flowers back then, too."

"Venoma…?" That name struck a chord with Alice. She could see a figure in her head, but she couldn't put a face to the name. This was killing her…

Nasir was watching nearby. This was important for the dragons back home…but his ears perked up. "…He's coming…"

The peaceful moment between them wasn't going to last long, because heavy footsteps crushed the flowers underfoot. Rajaron stood a few yards away from Alice and Edna. The lost prince of the Isle of the Dragons was very unhappy about the lack of a conclusion to his fight with Alice the other day. "We have unfinished business, Demon Dragon." His red eyes burned with vengeance. Never before was he outright unable to finish a fight of his own volition. It wounded his pride that he couldn't finish another dragon off so quickly.

"Prince…!" Nasir turned. "You must return ho…!"

"Quiet." Rajaron silenced Nasir with words alone. "I have business to attend to. There are four dragons in this tournament…threatening the competition simply by existing. You all are trump cards in your team's pocket. I don't care about that. I want to prove I'm the strongest dragon here. I will surpass my father Dhegeinsea, who abandoned me on the surface, and I will slay the Dragon Gods with my own two hands. That moment all begins right here."

Alice was so out of it, she didn't even realize Rajaron struck her with so much force until she actually hit the ground. One moment she was sitting down, the next, she was on her back, surrounded by more dead flowers. Her eyes widened as it all began to set in again. Such pretty flowers dying, simply by being around her. She walked into this tournament prepared to do whatever it took to help Emeraude, the woman who rescued her, but then... "I…"

"I will not ask again." Rajaron crossed his arms, black wings sprouting from his back as he made use of his dragon heritage. Nasir and Edna were suddenly on high alert as this took a turn they were prepared for. "Stand up, Demon Dragon."

"Everything's getting so intense…" Hibiki mumbled. Blue Pegasus was aboard the Christina, attempting to rework the devices that Mii snatched for them. She asked Blue Pegasus to set Hisui and Emerald free. "The magical inscription on these items is top notch…"

"Don't flatter the enemy!" Jenny scoffed. "This liberation mission is our one job! We have to do it! The Queen's life is on the line here."

"I know…" Ren gave a firm nod. They didn't even have time to glance at how the tournament was going. "As a handsome man and a gentleman, I simply cannot allow the death of any woman under my watch!"

"This is a job for the Trimen!" Eve said enthusiastically. "We won't let Mii down!"

"That's the spirit, men!" Ichiya struck a pose. "I do not doubt she would not ask this of us if she didn't think we were unfit for the job."

"I gotta say…" Jenny placed a hand on her hip. "For a girl that's so eager to die, she's sure putting up a fight. A Pergrande official going behind her own country's back like that? That's like…a big risk, isn't it?"

"That is just proof of how much she cares." Ichiya said firmly. "A foul odor of despair has clouded her heart. It only takes a fresh hint of the parfume of friendship to change it! I could smell it."

"Please stop sniffing women." Jenny said with a slight sweat drop. But she understood what he was saying. The moment was suddenly halted by a pillar of flame erupted within the deck of the Christina, causing the members of Blue Pegasus to go on high alert. "Who's there!"

A man with spiky red hair and green eyes appeared from within the flames; donning a white coat. That was a signature of a man from Pergrande's 13 Commandants. "It's been a while since I've been sent on the field like this…" A familiar face too, one of the ones on the Isle of the Dragons: Brax. "I'll make this quick…it's come to my attention that our lead Commandant has given you two items that do not belong to you. So I've come to retrieve them. Care to do this the easy way…or am I gonna have to get a little messy?"

"Try and take it from us!" Eve said firmly. "We were given this job and we're going to see it through!"

"That's right! It would be unhandsome of us to fail a job given to us by such a beautiful woman." Hibiki said.

"The hard way, then. Alright…this'll be fun." Brax held his hands out to his sides, his flaming chakrams appearing within his hands. "Just remember, I tried to give you an out, Blue Pegasus!"

"These fights are getting intense…" Gray said, watching with Juvia, Carla, Wendy, Lector, and Cynthia from the Crown City audience stands.

"Are you worried for them, Gray-san?" Wendy asked Gray.

"Me? Worried?" Gray laughed that off. "Nah. This is the biggest tournament anyone's ever been in…while the competition sure did its job of making Fiore look bad in the beginning, that just leaves them open to what everyone can really do under pressure. We've saved the world how many times now? And everyone's put in their own effort? I'm not worried."

"But Gray-sama put in the most effort!" Juvia latched onto Gray's arm and snuggled into him. Naturally Gray shied away from this, while the girls just giggled. "And Juvia has faith everyone will come out on top!"

"Yeah, we always fight hardest when it really counts!" Lector added.

"I'd go as far to say that everyone's just getting started." Carla shrugged her shoulders. When spending time around all these people for so many years, she knew them too well.

"I'm worried about Mii…" Cynthia admitted with a frown.

That's when Gray placed his free hand on Cynthia's head and ruffled her hair a bit, laughing softly. "Don't be. You've known Natsu for how many years now? I know for a fact he's not letting himself get kicked out of this final round at all, least of all until he can punch some sense into Mii."

"Maybe she'll feel it…" Cynthia giggled a bit. Her nose then twitched. Something…felt wrong… "Huh…?"

Lucy and Elly found each other in an open grassy field. This meeting came sooner than Lucy was expecting, but that was fine. She could get Loke back if she won, as per her agreement with Elly. "I wasn't expecting to find you so soon." Lucy admitted.

"I was hunting you down, but it seems I lost you for a bit." Elly said, placing her hand on her keyring. "You recall our agreement, do you not?"

"If I win, I get Loke back." Lucy nodded. "And that's why I'm prepared to fight you with everything I've got!"

"Good." Elly gave a firm nod. The blonde held a stoic look in her purple eyes, unfazed by the battle she was about to undertake. One hand reached down for a silver key, pointing it in Lucy's direction. "My name is Elisanne Velthomer. My position in the 13 does not allow me to lose. As such, it is my duty to crush you in the name of Pergrande, Lucy Heartfilia."
