"I am obviously just a psychologist, so why do I have to do so many jobs? Now I'm even a part-time diplomat for Rhodes Island..." Lin Ye complained while sitting on his bed while Ansel was reading a book on his own bed.

Ansel did not put down the book and just said indifferently. "You don't do much at work anyways."

Lin Ye stares "Who told you that?"

"Your assistant Ptilopsis said that she has a record of you being missing and being late for work." Ansel glances at Lin Ye, "And even if you do go to work, you usually sleep."

Hearing this, Lin Ye's vein popped out of sheer anger...

"Yep, she said you only laze around everyday."

"What the hell! I don't know even how long I haven't seen her in the office! She doesn't even clock into work, but she has the audacity to say that behind my back?!"

"What can I even do..." Lin Ye couldn't wait to go out and find Ptilopsis to pinch her cheek. But right now, he could only complain and whine, "This is so unfair."

"Well, no one cares about these kinds of things anyways. Don't you still get paid for working and sleeping all day long?" Ansel says, "If you want, you can be transferred to the medical department to let you see how much work we have to do every day."

Ansel glanced at him. "Moreover, a diplomat usually has nothing to do. You can just treat this as a business trip or a vacation of some sort."

The corners of Lin Ye's mouth twitched, "This sentence sounds very familiar to me... Oh right, you said the same thing twice last time, but my last two "vacations" didn't seem to end up being very enjoyable."

"Then you are just unlucky. Simple as that." Ansel says, "But even the unluckiest person won't suffer the same misfortune three times in a row, right? You can't possibly have a 100% chance of getting attacked everytime you go out."

Lin Ye thought for a while and feels that what Ansel said was reasonable.

I still can't shake off that feeling that something will go wrong...Lin Ye says in his heart.

"Besides, Kjerag is different from Lungmen." Ansel continues, "That place is much more peaceful than Lungmen. It is a well-established country, not a complex city like Lungmen and they even have a god that they believe in."

Lin Ye had heard that Kjerag was a religious country, so he couldn't help but ask, "Does Kjerag really have a god?"

"I heard that there is a real god there."

"Then I really want to go over and take a look at that so-called god." Lin Ye smiles, "I have never seen what a true god looks like."

"I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. How could the god of Kjerag want to see you, an outsider?"

Ansel put down the book and glances at Lin Ye,

"But you are right to think like that, you should go there and have fun. But remember why you are there in the first place. Kjerag is different from Lungmen. We have jobs in Lungmen, but not in Kjerag. Amiya and Miss Kal'sit wants to establish a cooperative relationship with Kjerag, no, specifically with Karlan Trade which's based in Kjerag. Once the two parties arrange an agreement, Rhodes Island's development speed would surely increase to another level!" Lin Ye understood what he wanted to say. "In that case, my trip this time is of great significance!"

"I said so, but you don't really need to do anything. You just need to accompany Pramanix. Dr. Kal'sit asked her if she is interested to work with us, but she isn't the one that leads Karlan Trade. It's her brother that does."

"What do I need to do then?" Lin Ye asks for some advice.

"You?" Ansel looks at him up and down, thought for a while, and says, "You can be a mascot."

"... Really?"

"This collaboration is different from the past. "Ansel says slowly,

"The president of Karlan Trade is quite the arrogant person and refuses to cooperate with us while the people of Kjerag reject most foreigners due to religious reasons. Dr. Kal'tsit has decided to select you to become...let's just say an ambassador."

Lin Ye is taken aback "Why me?"

"Because you are a pure human. More than 90% of the races in the Terra are born from pure humans. So, the people of Kjerag should not be less resistant to you than with other races." Ansel says "And you have that weird talent. Whether it's a man or a woman after seeing you, they..."

"Okay. Okay. No need to go on. "Lin Ye quickly made a pause gesture.

Then he smiles bitterly, "It always feels weird to hear that from you. I feel like I'm a duck."

Ansel frowns slightly: "A duck? Why a duck?"

"Uh, never mind that. "Lin Ye shakes his head, but then he remembers something and turns to look at Ansel, "Speaking of which, I heard from Shining that you used to be a diplomat too and a really good one at that."

Ansel's face immediately became uncomfortable: "W-Well, what's the matter?"

"What did you do?" Lin Ye says, "I heard Shining say that no matter where you go, everyone will line up to give you a bunch of presents..."

Ansel's complexion immediately sank, "I'm going to sleep now!"

"Hey. Hey. Don't go to sleep. I'll stop." Lin Ye pretends to be apologetic.

Lin Ye was laughing inwardly, he had heard from Shining that back when Ansel was still a diplomat, the people he met would treat him like a girl and give him many presents. Those presents being women's skincare products that are now arranged neatly in their bathroom.

Poor guy...

Ansel's face turned pale as if he had seen through Lin Ye's thoughts. Either that or he had recalled certain unbearable memories from his past.

He really wanted to ignore Lin Ye and go to bed, but he felt like he still needed to explain things clearly, so he endured it and continued speaking.

"Dr. Kal'sit said that when you arrive in Kjerag, you won't need to reach an agreement with Karlan Trade immediately. Of course, we will still need to negotiate, but that's Pramanix's job. Your task is to just accompany her to her home country and then bring her back."

"That's all?"

"Yes, that's all."

Lin Ye touched his chin: "That's easy, almost like I'm travelling."

"Because it is travelling. "Ansel says angrily, "So what are you even dissatisfied with?"

"No, no, I have never been dissatisfied with anything." "Lin Ye shakes his head and asks again,

"But what is going on with Pramanix saying that she wants me to choose another person to come with us?"

"What's the matter? Isn't this already clear?" Ansel is a little bit unsure.

"I mean, why should I choose someone?" Lin Ye expresses his doubts, "In the past, I was always escorted by a small team who I followed. This time, I was asked to choose someone to follow me instead."

"I have said that this time you are sent as a diplomatic team, and not an escort for a mission," Ansell says,

"You think that Kjerag would allow armed forces of other races to enter their territory? We are only able to go to Kjerag in the first place, because of the president of Karlan Trading's influence and goodwill. And besides, we're trying to win him over with sincerity and good faith, not intimidation and military might"

Lin Ye nods "So if that's the case then who should I choose?"

"The best person would be one of the following—"

"I see. I should invite Skadi then."

"Are you crazy!" Ansel's eyes widened, "You want Skadi to accompany you?!"

Lin Ye is stunned." H-Huh? Is there a problem?"

Ansel grits his teeth: "Did you not listen to what I told you just now?! Let's not mention how troublesome Skadi's personality would be in a country like Kjerag. Imagine someone with her strength and status of a feared bounty hunter entering a religious country like Kjerag. Do you think that's appropriate?!"

Lin Ye thought for a while, it seemed that it really is inappropriate.

"Fortunately, Skadi doesn't have time to go with me." Lin Ye says, "She will be going on a mission in 2 days."

If she did follow him, it would've been nice for Lin Ye. He can get to see her beautiful face under the white snow of Kjerag. In his opinion that would be a breath-taking sight for anyone who gets to witness it.

But thinking about it reasonably, even if Lin Ye chose Skadi's, Kal'tsit wouldn't agree.

"If Skadi isn't allowed, can Liz or even Shining come with instead?" Lin Ye asks again,

Ansel looks at him speechlessly "You want a literal devil to go to a religious country like Kjerag?"

"Wouldn't it be exciting?" Lin Ye says jokingly

"I can only say that your mind has some pretty funny ideas."

"So that's a no then. Okay." Lin Ye is a little helpless.

Although Ansel has already emphasized that Kjerag is a safe country and that Karlan Trade's president would be there to guarantee their safety. Lin Ye thinks that having a Plan B wouldn't hurt.

With how many accidents he had gone through in the past, he just wanted to make sure that he remains safe on this trip. By bringing Skadi or Shining, even if the sky were to fall down, he would still feel safe with either of them by his side. As an added bonus, he can also get someone he could casually chat with.

However, neither Skadi and Shining could go, which made Lin Ye feel very disappointed.

"This can't go, that can't go." Lin Ye complains, "Then can you just give me an idea on who I can bring with me? Someone that the natives of Kjerag won't reject?"

Ansel thought for a moment, and then slowly said, "... A Lupo."

Lin Ye is taken aback: "A Lupo?"

"Yes, to be precise, it is a subspecies of the Lupo race," Ansel says,

"Kjerag is always snowy, so some races would have an inexplicable sense of affinity with the snow. And the Lupo is one of them. A branch of them used to live in the snow, if it were one of them, then the natives should not reject them"

"A Lupo who used to live in the snow?" Lin Ye thought about it for a moment and he suddenly came to a realization.

The corners of his mouth slowly rose as he looked at Ansel, "A Lupo who used to live in the snow...I think I have an idea of who I can bring."

"Really?" Ansel looks at him with some doubt, "Who?"

Lin Ye could only give Ansel a nervous chuckle in response.
