Game Guy's Blackjack with Toadette
It's a beautiful afternoon at Game Guy's Casino where Toadette is having a great time when suddenly, she saw a sign for Game Guy's Blackjack. Toadette smiled and said, "Wow! That must be Game Guy's Blackjack. This is going to be exciting! To the table."
With that, Toadette ran to the table for her game.
When she got there, Game Guy smiled at her and said, "Hey there, Toadette! Glad you could make it. So you're here to play my blackjack game, right?"
"That's right, Game Guy," Toadette replied as she sat down on the table, "I'm here to win!"
"Well, you came to the right place because today's game is going to be very special. Today, you're going to play for... A BRAND NEW KART!"
"Wow! That's amazing! I love Mario Kart!"
"I know. Now we'll play this game in a best-of-three format and if you can get two rounds before I do, then you win! Got it?"
"Got it, Game Guy. Let's do this!"
"Okay! So without further ado, let's start the game!"
And so, Game Guy shuffled the deck very well before placing it face down on the table. He said, "All right, Toadette. I'm going to deal out two cards for you and two for myself. Ready?"
"Ready when you are." Toadette replied with a smile.
"Okay."
With that, Game Guy dealt two cards for Toadette and two for himself. Then he said, "Now as you can see I have dealt a six and one card face down. That means you don't know which card is under it. All right Toadette, you have a King and a Jack for a total of twenty. Do you want to hit, or stand?"
Toadette looked at her hand and said, "I'll stand, please."
"Are you sure you're going to stand?"
"Yes!"
"Okay! You have stood with twenty and now, let's see my face down card."
With that, Game Guy flipped his card and it reveals an Ace for a total of seventeen. He looked at his total and said, "Well played, Toadette. Twenty beats seventeen and that means you've won the first round. Great job. Now then, are you ready for round two?"
"Let's do it!" Toadette said with a smile.
"All right!"
So Game Guy dealt more cards and then, the second round is underway.
Game Guy looked at his hand and said, "Now I have an Ace this time and if there's a ten or a face, the round's over for you. So let's take a peek at my card and see what happens."
With that, Game Guy looked at his second card and with a smile, he said, "Looks like this round is over because I have a ten. Ace and ten make a Blackjack. Toadette, what do you have?"
"I have nineteen, Game Guy," Toadette said as she had a nine and a king.
"Okay. So this game is tied and now, it's time for the final round. Ready to deal?"
"You bet!"
And so, the final round is on as Toadette dealt an eleven with a five and a six. Game Guy said, "Okay. So I have a king this time and if there's an ace, the game's over."
So Game Guy checked his hand and said, "No ace! All right, Toadette. Do you want to hit, double down, or stand?"
Toadette looked at her hand and said, "Game Guy, let's double down!"
"Very good! Now you will only get one card face down. Don't look at it, okay?"
And so, Game Guy dealt one card face down thanks to the double down. Then he said, "Now that everything is all set, it's time to reveal my face down card and once I have seventeen or above, we'll go to your hand and reveal your card. So, are you ready to find out who won?"
"Yeah," Toadette replied with a smile, "Let's do it!"
"All right, then! Here we go!"
With that, Game Guy flipped the card over and it was a jack. Game Guy smiled and said, "Well Toadette, it all comes down to this. The score is 20-11 in favor of me. But you still have that face down card in front of you and in just a few moments, you'll flip that card. Ready?"
Toadette looked at the face down card and with a smile, she placed her hand on the card.
"Okay! On the count of three! One, two, three..."
Toadette held on to the card, waited for a few seconds and then...
It's time.
"FLIP!"
FLIP!
With the word shouted, Toadette flipped the card over and it revealed...
THUD!
...A TEN!
Game Guy looked at the results and said, "Toadette... YOU WIN!"
Toadette jumped for joy as she scored the win with a 21. Game Guy hugged her and said, "Congratulations, Toadette!"
"Thanks, Game Guy," Toadette replied with a smile, "I'm so happy for this victory and it's all thanks to the double down."
"Well, I'm so glad for you and the double down finally pays off. So, it gives me great pleasure to present you with these keys to... YOUR BRAND NEW B DASHER!"
Just then, the B Dasher came out of the curtain as Toadette jumped for joy once more. Then she hopped in to her kart and said with a wink to the readers, "Now that was a card game to remember."
