Sighing, Inuyasha turns and rests his chin on her head. "The bastard knows what he can handle, Kagome. You're gonna have to trust that."

But it's not a matter of what he can or cannot handle. The grief-stricken face of the female youkai flares in her memory, and Kagome sniffles, wiping moisture from her cheeks. "That doesn't mean it's painless."
