Harandal has been a nomad for years now, as he was basically troubled for much of his childhood. He strives to reunite with his brother while knowing to admit that the latter is a pain in the ass. Also, he is Kamamuri's distant cousin as well. His parents were very different from each other; the mother being the hard earning daughter of indentured Javanese labourers and the father being partly Maratha. Both were wealthy but really dysfunctional parents, with the latter being so poisonously macho that he might have murdered the former just a year after abandoning Harandal himself.
