Trace decided to have a talk with the old man. Well, not that he could call him 'Old man', but had to call him head with respect. And also, he was the only one Trace can depend on. Truthfully, it was far better than relying on the ambiguous words of an unknown monster. Yes, that is the right choice, so thought Trace. I don't have any other choice. You made me choose this. Trace believed what he was doing was correct. This was all that monster's fault.

But the main problem for Trace was that monster. If he wanted to do something, then he should do so without that monster finding anything. But was that possible? That monster can act at a certain place without even being there. What if that monster was keeping a tab at him? Wouldn't that mean what he was about to do was nothing more than a suicide attempt?

Then again, the old man was acting kinda weird when giving them a sudden holiday. Maybe, just maybe, that old man could help him. Even if the chance was as low as pi, but it wasn't a zero. Trace wasn't an indecisive man to being with. He was confused coming in contact with such a monster, but now his head became clear again. That's right. If that monster didn't exist, then he doesn't have to go through all that. And the old man created that monster from the scratch, so he probably had the idea of how to deal with it.

And that's when Trace made his first mistake.

Whether it was because of his judgment clouded by his fear of that monster or his mental state crumbling, well both were the same at the end. For a scientist, to rely on the uncertain result was the worst thing to do. It doesn't just apply to beings called 'Scientist', it was also true for every person. It was like Trace was riding in a vehicle in poor condition. Take this as an example: You are in a hurry to reach a certain place, but your bike wasn't in what you would call the best condition. If you were to take a cab, then it would be a bit late, but you would surely reach your destination. Well, it would also cost you. For some reason, you didn't consider taking a cab, maybe because you can't be late or you just don't want to, just like Trace who didn't know much about Ash's ability decided to talk to the old man. And besides, you already had the bike. Despite its poor condition, you decided to take it. Now here is the main point, if your bike holds for long till you reach your destination, you win, but the probability of it being unusable during the road was high. Well, the situation was something like that. Trace was holding onto the thin rope.

After Trace decided to talk to the old man, fast-forwarding the time two days prior, he asked for the appointment to meet with the old man, the head of the project. It looked like Trace's position was quite high in this project as it didn't take long before he was allowed to meet with the old man. After meeting with the old man, Trace hoping that the monster wouldn't find out about this told the head everything. Though he was in constant fear, he still managed to tell everything without leaving the single thing. He even reviews his own experience and what he thought about it. He told everything that was on his mind, even pointed out how dangerous letting that monster live.

From beginning to end, the old man listened to him like children listening to the story when parents told them. His eyes were also full of excitement. He was completely different from how Trace hoped him to be. Trace wanted that the old man would immediately take action to dispose of that monster, but to his dissatisfaction, the old man didn't even have the thought of disposing of the monster.

"Hohoho! So that Pokemon asked for your help in its runaway." The old man laughed as he gently stroked his bread. Trace thought if that bread was ever going to get longer than it already was after being pulled for so long. No matter how many times he saw the old man, he never saw him leaving his bread alone for a single moment. Well, leaving that aside, things didn't go as he planned. And looking at how the old man was acting, he doubted that things would go his way. He didn't make a mistake, did he? "Fascinating. So that thing is actually intelligent," He put his hand on his chin as he said, "Hmm~... Was that Pokemon aware of us experimenting on it from the beginning, or did it gain intelligence midway?"

For a scientist, a new brought always brought excitement so, how can such an event didn't arouse his upheaval. The Pokemon he created, even he knew that he created something outrageous. Or more like something even he didn't have any explanation. The Pokemon he created was completed and it was beyond the concept of reality. So much that even the computer wasn't able to explain the quandary and ended up with errors. But he knew that Pokemon wasn't a failure. He just wasn't able to pin out what the main reason was. Now that he heard the event, he knew full well that his project got a positive result.

He then heard someone beat the table, he looked toward the man who slammed his hand on the table. He was none other than Trace as his face was full of anxiety. "Please head. We don't have time to think over this dilemma, as we are speaking my family could be in major danger. We need to get rid of that thing as soon as possible." Annoying. That's was the old man thought when he looked at the worried face Trace. Was he really going to get rid of such an amazing specimen just for the shit in front of him?

Plus from what he said, that Pokemon was capable to do such a thing. If it really wanted to run, it would have been easier just to use this man. From the way it looked, it was just trying to scare this man but why? It shouldn't have a resolute outcome. It would either let the subject work in fear or go against it. Was that thing's intelligence not on par with humans? The old man thought before looking at the Trace. "You don't have to worry. Your family won't be killed."

"What do you mean? I just told you that thing isn't what you would like to keep as a pet." Was that really what he said? The old man tried to remember but didn't recall ever hearing such words. Well, whatever. The old man pointed made a 'peace sigh' as he said, "I have two reasons to back up your question."
