This chapter means a lot, it is a seque into a lot of interesting things and leads into more original chapters... I freaking loved writing it and I am so excited for what it brings. I hope you enjoy it's simplicity. I did.
"Another Avatar and airbender." Lin gaped, watching Asana move through the airbending katas and movements that she had seen Tenzin move through so often as children. "I cannot beleive it."
Tenzin sighed. "He is not an Avatar, we tested him. He can only Airbend and Firebend, alongside some spiritual abilities that even my father has never had... and their expanding. I saw an aura of power around him, as did Korra. He used it to attack and potentially kill many of the antibenders. It was like the Avatar State, only there was a darkness in it that I never saw or sensed in my father's Avatar State."
"I see... is he a threat?" Lin focused her thoughts and energy towards the boy, willing to strike out should she need to.
"No more or less then Korra, or my father, just different. He lacks their raw power but he has a darkness in his nature that I never expected. From what I know, he was born from a fragment of my father and a Spirit Called Raava, the source of the Avatar's power, and so he isn't a total reincarnation. He lacks the inherit adversion to killing of my father. He seems more like what I read Kyoshi was like. Agressive, ruthless and willing to do whatever he needs to do."
Sighing herself, Lin turned back to her old flame. "I will need to speak to him, alone. I know you need to speak to the council."
"Very well, just be kind. He is young and he was forced to take lives, that has to have effected him more then he lets on."
"Your not wrong. I will try."
Together, they approached the boy, who turned and stumbled as he saw her. "Wow, your Earthbending is really, really powerful. And there is this silvery energy through the green, your a metal bender right?"
She smirked a little, enjoying the note to her power. "Yes. I am Chief Beifong."
"I assume you are here about the deaths?" The boy said it without any hestiation, care or worry, the flippancy of his words startled her.
"Yes, I am." She kneeled down a little, out of respect. "Would you like to come with me, to speak more privately or would you like to speak here in the open?"
"Either's fine, I am not ashamed of what I did. It was nessicary. They are a poison in our city, attacking people out of nothing more then bender envy. They attacked some people who deserved it, like Shin and Zolt, but the rest of the people like Bolin and I... sigh... anyway, what else did you need to know?" They all moved towards the steps of the nearest set of halls, where they sat down.
"I won't lie to you, you seem to be the kind that enjoys frankness. There is a case agaisnt you, you killed seventeen people with your unusual bending and one directly by slitting his throat. One could argue self defense agaisnt the later, but hardly the former."
The boy raised a single brow. "They were willing participants in a brutal assult of many people, watching and relishing in the suffering of others. They deserved what they got... however, I never intended to do much more then scare them. When I channeled the Light, that power that made me so strong I could act like I did... it... is changed me. I felt my emotions dull, moving away from me. It was like I was empty, and was only being filled with the Light. It was making the choices more then I was. Does that make sense?"
Tenzin finally spoke up. "My father mentioned to me once, that when he first used the Avatar State, and for some time while using it, it was like he was being taken over by the collective of his past lives. Their wills, their wants... if you are a part of them, maybe you are experiencing the same in whatever you want to call this state."
"Maybe... but I didn't feel people, it felt more like when I met the Spirit of the Moon. There was a human edge to it, but it was more a force of nature. One that came from within and without. " The boy, for the first time, seemed troubled. "I don't regret their deaths, but I do regret having little choice in taking their lives. If that helps any."
Lin sighed. "It does... in it's own way. You are a victim of your power, I cannot fault a new being with such great power from being overwhelmed with that power. You have no means of knowing that you even possed the strength to do what you did or how to control it. I am not unreasonable. I am asking that you stay here though, on Airbender Island, until you can fully control your power. Is that fair?"
"More then... I have no desire to lose control like that again... however you should know Amon is a bloodbender. His aura of power was stronger then Korra's, in sheer bending skill he is her superior. In a fight, even without bloodbending, I think he would win."
Lin almost flinched. "Are you certain?"
"Yes, I am... his aura, I am guessing about the Bloodbending part, I have never seen a bloodbenders aura but it would explain why his aura had the blue aura had a red light around it. However the raw power, that much is clear. Tenzin's aura, yours... their both the brighest and deepest I've seen for Earth and Air, well Jinora's actually just as strong as Tenzin and she's still young, but that's neither here nor there. What the point I am making is, compared to Amon you may as well be nonbenders. Your auras almost nonvisible."
Lin shuddered at that notion, knowing how powerful she and Tenzin were. That Amon could be that much stronger was... baffling to her. She had never encountered anyone that fit such a statement. It was a truly horrifiying notion. "Can you recognize the aura on contact?"
"Yes, even before all this I had a great memory and such an aura... it's impossible to miss and forget."
"If you see it again, tell me. Can you do that?"
"Yes."
"Good... now, I need to go but remember what I said. Stay on this island, train and do what you can."
The boy smiled at her. "I like you. Your blunt and you say what you want... you have my support, Lin... oh and I can read minds and memories. I discovered then when we were looking for Bolin. I can help you with that, if you need it."
"I will keep that in mind."
'""
" There is a madman running around our beloved city, threatening to tear it apart. We need to create a task force whose sole mission is to find Amon and bring him to justice."
The sound of Tarrlok's voice made Tenzin want to wretch, he hated the man. "Absolutely not. A move that aggressive would only further divide benders and nonbenders."
The Fire Nation councilwoman spoke up. "Tarrlok, I'm inclined to agree with your proposal, but who would even head up such a task force?"
The irritating man stood and bowed. " It would be my honor and privilege to accept such a duty."
"This is just another one of your ploys to gain more power, isn't it?" He pounded the table lightly, emphasising his point.
"All I'm trying to do is help. Think back, forty-two years ago, Republic City was threatened by another dangerous man. Yakone. " He pointed a finger at Tenzin. "Your father wasn't afraid to deal with him head-on."
" This.. is a completely different situation ... " He stood himslef and pointed back at the man. "and how dare you compare yourself to Avatar Aang!"
"Amon is not going to stop with the bending triads. Eventually, he will come for all us benders. Our friends, our families. Vote for this task force and I will stop Amon before it's too late. All in favor?"
Tarrlok raised his hand and the Fire Nation representative raised her hand as well. After a brief glance at each other, the Southern Water Tribe and Earth Kingdom representatives also raised their hands. With that, Tarrlok slamed a gavel down on a platform to close the meeting and smiles mischievously at Tenzin while he glared at him.
"I will be coming to airbender Island later, Tenzin. I hear you have a new airbender, one who took many of the Antibenders lives and took on Amon and lived to tell the tale. He even took out his Liutentant, someone that according to Rumors even beat Avatar Korra."
Tenzin recoiled, hating the reminder of Asana's actions. "Asana will not be your puppet, he is still a child and he only fought to defend himself. Besides, he has been ordered by Lin Beifong to stay on the Island until he can better control his powers."
"And I can overrule that order if he agrees to join my taskforce."
Tenzin, knowing the man was right, let out his deepest sigh. 'I cannot help but see Asana joining, he is ruthlessness enough and he has no issue with using force. I can only hope he is wise enough to see through Tarrlock's manipulations."

Lin Beifong's questions had shifted something inside of the new Fraction of the Avatar, pushing him towards a new goal. Asana wanted answers, plain and simple and so he found the quietest part of the island and dragged Jinora with him. The girl, sweet blessing she was, just went with him without question. "I need to go into the Spirit world. Can you help?" He told her, after they found a nice place to rest and meditate in private.
The girl gasped. "I... uh... I... Yes." Her eyes were determined, proud and pleased. "I can help you... but we cannot be gone long, Father would come looking for us. Dinner's in an hour."
"Don't follow me then, just guide me."
"I can do that...I think. This is the most Spiritual part of the Island, how did you know?"
Asana recoiled. "I didn't, I just knew it was the quietest. I hate my powers at times, they just pop up...sigh... we need to hurry. I will tell you everything about my powers, in detail and ask the Spirits to help me with yours, that is my promise, but for now I just need to talk to Yue again. Help me."
They both sat down, crossing their legs. Somehow, and he could not explain it, as they meditated, Jinora's energy wrapped around his and sort of pulled... he would never be able to explain it past that. That's what it felt like... within minutes he felt himself leaving his body and slowly fading away, through a barrier of what felt like Cobwebs, into the Spirit world.
Opening his eyes, he saw Yue staring down at him kindly, her radiant white light comforting in the dim cold landscape. "Your a quick study, it was smart using Jinora as a bridge. Her powers are vast, she carries within her the light of Raava too, only through her blood ties to Aang. She is quiet an amazing young woman. Now... I know you have questions. Ask while you have time, but remember, time passes differently between realms. You only can ask so much, make those questions count."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a lot of fun to write...
