Bubble Guppies Teen Years: Season 2

Chapter 22: Puppy´s New Love

Finally peace would return for our favorite guppies. Nothing serious would happen these days. All was well for the 8 Bubble Guppies. But this story will have a protagonist in particular. A great dog who has been by the side of a certain blue-haired teenager. This dog is nothing more and nothing less than Bubble Puppy. Or rather "Bubble Doggy", because he was already an adult dog. Although he was in the middle of his doggy life, he was a very healthy and energetic dog. He loves spending time with his owner Gil and of course, with the other guppies too. He usually likes to wait for Gil when he comes home from school. Because after that the boy always took him out for a walk. And this day would not be the exception.

One day, Gil returns home but this time he arrives with his girlfriend Molly. When the couple opens the door, the dog gets excited and goes quickly towards them.

"Arf Arf Arf" He barked happily and he licked his owner.

"Hehehehe I´m back, boy!" He said while stroking his head.

"Hi, Bubble Doggy!" Molly petted him too.

"Arf Arf"

"I know, boy. Let's go to the park" Gil smiled. To his surprise, the dog quickly left the house "Boy! Come here! Don´t get lost"Gil swam out quickly chasing his dog.

"Mrs. Gordon. We will go to the park with Bubble Doggy. We´ll be back soon!" Molly said that quickly before following her desperate boyfriend.

Both teenagers went out chasing that dog. He was going faster than normal and he got to the park and started sniffing around the park. He looks like he was looking for something. At this moment Molly and Gil arrived.

"Oh boy. There you are. Don't go out like that friend. You scared me" Gil said. His dog looked down sadly "Don´t worry. I´m not bad with you. You just scared me"

"Arf Arf" He licked him again.

"Hehehe I think he just wanted to go fast here" Molly commented.

"Yeah. He loves walks" Gil added. Bubble Doggy started sniffing around the park with the couple. There was an awkward silence between the couple. But one of them dared to comment on something.

"Gil ….. Remember when we talked about the problem between Zooli and Urchin" Molly asked, a little sad.

"Oh yeah. I remember it. I know, Molly. I promised to try to be more polite with Urchin'' Gil answered. He thought she was going to tell him something about his attitude towards Urchin.

"I was not really referring to that. I mean my reaction when ... you mentioned "that" Molly commented a little ashamed. Gil was quiet for some time. "I´m sorry. I shouldn't have acted like that. It's just been hard for me"

"It's okay, Molly. I guess you've been mentally pressured. But tell me, is there something that has been happening to you and you haven't told me?" Gil asked. Molly remembered her nightmares and her hallucinations about "her" voice. It was a good chance to tell him.

"Well….. The truth is…."

"Arf Arf Arf" He started to run away.

"Boy! Come back!" Gil chased him again. This time, the chase didn't take a lot of time like before "Bubble Doggy, what are you doing? This is not normal for you" Gil wanted an answer. His dog just lowered his gaze.

"Mmmmm I don't know, Gilly. Something strange happens to him. He doesn't usually run away like that" Molly started to worry about his behavior.

"The best thing would be to go home. I don't want anything bad to happen to him" Gil analyzed. He saw his pet again "Let's go home, buddy" The dog did not like that idea, but accepted sadly.

After that day, Gil began to watch his pet more closely. Well, he started behaving very strangely. He didn't eat much and wanted to go out a lot. The boy began to restrict the walks a little, because it seemed that he wanted to escape. One weekend afternoon, Molly was in the living room playing with her little sister Mia.

"Mmmmm where is that little girl?" Molly said, searching for her little sister.

"Surprise!" She managed to hug her from behind.

"Hehehehe nice. You caught me" Molly giggled a little.

"Now is my turn!" Mia said excitedly.

"Okay...Go ahead…." Molly said.

"Ring! Ring!" It was Molly´s cellphone.

"Excuse me" She decided to answer the call "Hi?"

"MOLLY!" It was Gil.

"Gilly? What's going on?" Molly asked confusedly.

"This is Bubble Doggy. HE IS NOT HERE! HE ESCAPED!" Gil shouted, very scared.

"(gasp) Oh really?! I´ll be there, Gilly. Don´t panic, okay?" She ended the call and prepared to leave the house.

"I'll go with you, sister. I also want to help you find Bubble Doggy" Mia said. She heard the conversation too. Her older sister agreed and they both left together for Gil's house quickly.

In his house, Molly and Mia entered. They found Gil searching in all his entire house very desperate.

"Gilly!" Molly greeted him.

"Oh Molly. Hi, Mia. Bubble Doggy disappeared!" Gil was panicked now.

"Okay, Gil...You have to calm down. What exactly happened?" Molly tried to calm him.

"(sigh) I went to buy the food for Bubble Doggy. When I returned I noticed that he was not welcoming me as he always is. I looked everywhere and he was not there" Gil said, changing his voice tone. Now he was sad "I´m worried. I am worried about him. I'm afraid of what might happen to him" He lowered his gaze.

"Calm down, love. We will find him" Molly put her hand in his shoulder.

"Maybe…..Maybe it was my fault. Maybe he ran away because I didn't take enough care of him anymore ... Maybe ..." Gil was feeling guilty.

"This is not your fault. We know you love Bubble Doggy very much. You are a great owner. He loves you very much. There must be an explanation" Molly comforted him.

"Yeah. We will help you too" Mia said, very optimistic.

"Let's find the other guppies. Maybe they saw him" Molly proposed.

"Okay. Let´s find him"

Gil, Molly and Mia started looking for the lost dog. They went looking for him in the city, the park, everywhere. But it was all useless. There was no sign of the dog. While this is happening, we can find a group of guppies. I think we know who they are.

"Don't worry, Oona. You shouldn't care so much about that" Deema commented in a relaxed way.

"I'm just saying that I don't have a nickname. In fact I am the only one. Gil is called "Gilly" Oona answered.

"But only Molly calls him that way" Goby remarked.

"Yeah. But all of you have a nickname. Goby: Gobs. Deema: Dee. Nonny: Nonners. Zooli: Zoo. Molly: Molls. All of you have nicknames" Oona commented.

"Well….I don't have a nickname" Urchin intervened.

"We will think of one for you if that makes you feel better" Deema said. At that moment they arrived.

"Guys! Nice to see you. Have any of you seen Bubble Doggy?" Gil asked quickly.

"Well no. We haven't seen him" Goby answered.

"Something happened to him?" Oona asked worriedly.

"He disappeared. And we've tried to look for him everywhere and we can't find him" Molly explained the situation. The rest were worried now.

"Mmmm alright. When was the last time you saw him?" Nonny asked. He was thinking about it.

"Before I went to the store" Gil answered.

"Wow. I have more questions than answers. Ideally, we look for Bubble Doggy immediately" Nonny planned.

"Please! We have to find him. I don't want anything to happen to him" Gil said very sadly

"We´ll find him. I promise" Molly said that trying to cheer him up.

"Let's split up and search!" Mia said excitedly.

They spent most of the afternoon searching. They searched all the nearby neighborhoods, the park once again, the school, the mall, the places near their homes. But there was no trace of him. More and more the hopes of finding him diminished. After several hours, they reunited.

"No! We look for him everywhere!" Gil screamed frustrated.

"Calm down, buddy!" Goby intervened.

"I can not! I can not be calm without knowing anything about my friend! Bubble Doggy, where are you?!" Gil was very sad. More than before.

"We understand that you are concerned. Believe me, we are too. He is also our friend. And we will do our best to do it. No matter how long we last" Goby explained.

"Yeah. We are with you in this" Urchin added.

"(sigh) Thanks" Gil said a little calm. But he was still worried.

"Guys! Make silence. Someone called Oona and she can't hear" Mia ordered. The rest were quiet for some minutes.

"Are you sure?...Okey….We´ll be there soon. See ya!" Oona ended the call. She saw the group again "It was Zooli. Bubble Doggy is there!"

"WHAT?!" The rest gasped.

"LET'S GO NOW!" Gil He hurried off to Zooli's house. The others tried to keep up with him. They couldn't judge him. They knew that Gil was the owner of Bubble Doggy. His unconditional friend.

Everyone was wondering why he was at Zooli's house. Oona didn't even know. Her friend didn't tell her many details. The only thing left was to go find the answer. And everything would be clear when they arrived at Zooli's house. The door was open. So they entered without problems. There they saw Zooli.

"Hi, guys! Glad to see you here. Unfortunately you guys missed the best, but you can still go see them" Zooli was happy for some reason.

"What are you talking about?" Deema asked confusedly. The rest weren't the exception.

"Yeah? Where is Bubble Doggy?" Gil asked too. Then, he heard him.

"ARF ARF ARF" He quickly went out to lick his owner.

"BUBBLE DOGGY! YOU ARE HERE! COME HERE, BOY!" He cried with happiness and hugged his beloved dog.

"Bubble Doggy!" The rest were happy to see him again.

"Well….He came here early. I was surprised to see him here. At first I did not understand. But then it all made sense" Zooli commented.

"What? Explain it" Urchin asked with doubt.

"I better show you" Zooli said before taking her friends to the backyard of the house. There they saw Zooli's aunt and Coco. But something was different. Coco was in a large box with old but comfortable sheets. And there was a lot of soft barking.

"NO…." Gil was shocked.

"...WAY!" Molly was surprised too.

"They…..they are….." Urchin tried to say it.

"PUPPIES!" Deema and Oona screamed very excitedly.

"Wow, man!" Goby added.

"ARF ARF" Bubble Doggy returned and he went where the puppies and his beloved mate were.

"They are SOOO CUTE!" Mia said very excitedly. They were five beautiful puppies. All five had similar features to their parents. For now we will not look at what gender they are.

"But ... at what ... time ... how?" Gil was still shocked.

"I should've realize that Coco's weird behavior were signs of pregnancy. Coco has become a mom" Zooli commented very convinced.

"And it's a wild guess who the father is" Goby said to Gil with a naughty smile.

"I can't believe it. At what point are you a dad?" The blue-haired boy asked.

"Awww Gil. He has grown and matured like us. There was time for him to have offspring. He is no longer the puppy you used to know. He now he's a big adult dog" Molly explained.

"Yeah. It is part of the cycle of life" Nonny added.

"Oh, wow. I have not wanted to accept it. I never believed that he would get to this point" Gil said. At that moment something beautiful happened. Bubble Doggy approached Gil.

"Arf Arf!"

"I know, buddy. You have your family. Congratulations champion!" Gil gave him a tiny smile.

"Arf Arf" Bubble Doggy tried to guide him to get closer to his puppies.

"What are you doing, buddy?" Gil asked, confused. He wanted his owner to meet his puppies. Coco at first growled at Gil because of her maternal instinct. But Bubble Doggy barked at her. We don't understand what he told her but that made Coco calm down. And so Gil got to meet the little new puppies "Hehehe….H...hi, buddies. I´m Gil"

"Arf Arf Arf Arf" All the five puppies started to lick him a lot.

"Hahaha stop! Hehehehe" Gil felt ticklish. The puppies decided to go back with their mother to drink breast milk and then sleep.

"Awww that was cute" Mia commented.

"Can we play with them?" Deema said with puppy eyes.

"I don't think it's a good idea, Deema" Zooli intervened.

"Well…..They are newborns. They must always be with their mother. Also, Coco looks very overprotective with her puppies. She didn't bite Gil just because of Bubble Doggy ... and out of sheer luck" Khloe explained.

"She's right" Nonny added.

"There are many puppies. I would like to keep them with me" Zooli admitted very excitedly.

"Of course not. We already have a lot of pets around here. I'm not sure if we can keep more dogs here. The ideal now would be to find owners for them. But for now Zooli and I will keep them here until they depend so much on their mom" Zooli´s aunt explained.

"For now we should not worry about that. I know we will find the right owners" Molly said very confident.

"That will be another day's problem" Goby commented.

"Arf Arf" Bubble Doggy returned with them.

"Are you coming home with me, friend?" Gil asked. He just licked him. But he turned to see his partner Coco sleeping with their puppies. He looked sad a little "Owww don´t worry. We will come here to visit you frequently. So you can be with your beloved mate and your beloved puppies"

"Arf Arf" He was happy with this news.

"And you will be welcome here. It seems that now we will be closer, Gil ... hehehe" Zooli said that to Gil with a wink. Everything was with a friendly and funny tone. But ... for a moment, Molly didn't take it well and just gave her a bad look for a moment.

"Hehehehe…..Looks like she wants to steal your boyfriend. Just like you did with me"

"Shut up" Molly said, a little bothered.

"Did you say something?" Deema asked. She heard her.

"Nothing, Deema….Nothing" Molly stroked her head a little.

And so this story ends. Gil finally found his unconditional friend. He knew Bubble Doggy would grow up, but that wouldn't change a thing. They will remain friends for much longer. But, not everything will be happiness. Because ... a darkness is approaching. And it would not be a new threat, as the guppies had already faced. But something from the past that will haunt them again. It seems the past won't be hard to leave behind.
