"Brother?" Wu crossed his arms.

Garmadon shivered in his block of ice.

"How did you escape?" Kai demanded.

"P-Power…out..." Garmadon said through his shivering.

"Great. Do we have to round up all the criminals now?" Cole asked.

"Probably," Jay said.

"Why did you try to steal the Bounty?" Kai demanded.

"Didn't know… your ship…" Garmadon sputtered.

"Release him," Wu said.

"What? Why?" Kai asked.

"Because we won't learn anything from him if he freezes to death."

Zane used his powers to break the ice. Garmadon shivered as he stepped out. Kai and Jay grabbed his arms.

"Why are you here?" Cole asked.

"I just want to go back to my volcano, and…"

"Uh, you don't have a volcano lair anymore."

"Huh?"

"It was destroyed during the eruption," Lloyd explained.

"Eruption?"

"The earthquake triggered a huge eruption and it destroyed your volcano. Look for yourself." Lloyd pointed to where the once tall volcano stood just offshore. It was now just a hill barely above the waterline.

"Great! Where am I supposed to go now?"

"Prison," Kai said.

"If you think you're getting me back there-"

"Zane?"

Ice started to form on Zane's hands.

"Okay, okay. Just don't try to blow me up again," Garmadon said.

"We make no promises," Jay said as he tied Garmadon's hands together.

Kai summoned his elemental dragon and Zane threw Garmadon on top of it. Jay and Zane summoned their own dragons and followed Kai towards the prison while Cole stayed behind with Nya and Lloyd.

"You're the older brother, right?" Kai asked as they flew into the clouds.

"Yes," Garmadon said.

"And you're evil."

"Yes. I was bit by a snake that was bit by a spider and that's how I got my four arms."

"Huh. Interesting."

"What? Do I not have four arms in your world?"

"You do, but you went to another realm to get them, and you wanted to be able to harness the power of the Golden Weapons," Jay said.

"Golden Weapons? What are those?"

"They were the most powerful weapons in Ninjago before they were destroyed. My point is… Oh, never mind," Kai said.

"No, tell me," Garmadon insisted.

"No, no. I mean, Wu didn't know so I don't know why you would know."

"First of all, I'm the older brother, so of course I'll know. Secondly, Wu doesn't know anything. He doesn't have any experience like I do. He stayed at home and was Father's perfect little son while I went out into the world and learned how it all works. So ask away, ninja!"

"Fine. Hypothetically speaking, where might one keep two adults hidden away in this world?"

"Oh, there are lots of places. The mountains are full of caves, the jungle is littered with hidey-holes, there's the lighthouse prison, there's a bunch of abandoned underground lairs-"

"Lighthouse prison?" Zane asked.

"Yes. About five miles offshore and twenty miles south of Ninjago City, there's an old abandoned lighthouse. Local legend has it someone's been kept prisoner there for over fifty years. But no one dares go near it for fear of angering the kraken that guards it. Even I wouldn't make my shark army go near there," Garmadon explained.

"Go back to the underground lairs. Where are they?" Kai said.

"The biggest one is underneath the town hall. Sometimes at night when it's quiet, you can hear the ghosts of the souls trapped there banging on the pipes, desperate for someone to free them."

"Huh. You've been very helpful, Garmadon."

"Thank you. Wait, helpful how?"

"Doesn't matter. Oh, look. There's the prison."

The three ninja descended and landed in the prison courtyard. Guards came out to greet them.

"We captured an escaped prisoner," Jay said.

Kai threw Garmadon off of his dragon. A guard caught him. Once they were sure Garmadon wouldn't escape again, the trio took off.

"So where are we going first?" Jay asked.

"How about we split up? You two take the lighthouse and I'll check out the town hall?" Kai suggested.

"Are you sure you want to look into that by yourself?" Zane asked.

"Yeah, it's fine. It's probably just rats or something."

Jay nodded and followed Zane towards the ocean.

"I just don't understand my father. He knows I exist but he completely ignores me. It's not fair. Everyone else I know has a great relationship with their dad, but mine can't even pronounce my name correctly," Lloyd complained.

"Tell me about it," Cole said.

Lloyd sighed and started to unwrap the bandage around one of Cole's feet.

"It's like he doesn't want me around, like I was a mistake or something. Woah, that's gross." Lloyd held up his hands as he stared at the burn scars all over Cole's foot and calf.

"Yeah, and my hands are going to be even worse." Cole put his other foot up on the stool.

"I don't know. I guess I wish that I could make him see me for who I really am."

"I get that."

"You do?"

"My dad tried to push me into following in his steps. He wanted me to be a dancer or a singer so bad he sent me away to a performing arts boarding school. He wouldn't even consider another career path. I ran away and he didn't notice. I just felt completely ignored by him, and after Anna died, it got worse. What finally got his attention was when Pythor tried to kill him and I saved his life."

"I don't think that would work with my dad," Lloyd said as he started unwrapping Cole's hands.

"Maybe, maybe not."

Lloyd sighed and put some burn cream in Cole's hands. As Cole spread the cream over his legs, Wu rushed in.

"There's something happening at the old abandoned lighthouse," Wu said.

"Really?" Lloyd asked.

"Yes. I keep seeing huge lightning strikes coming from the ground."

"That's Jay," Cole said.

"Did he bring his com?" Lloyd asked.

Cole shrugged. Lloyd tried to reach him, but there was no answer.

"Kai and Zane are supposed to be with him," Cole said.

Wu ran out of the room and Lloyd followed him. Cole grabbed onto the couch when the ship lurched forward. Nya ran into the room.

"What's going on?" Nya asked.

"I think we're about to perform a rescue. Can you help wrap me up, please?" Cole picked up the bandages.

Nya quickly wrapped Cole's legs and hands. When she finished, they walked up to the deck. The Bounty was approaching a lighthouse. A kraken held Zane in one tentacle and was swatting at Jay with another. Jay shocked the beast and it threw him against some boulders. Jay rolled onto the sand and didn't move.

"Jay!" Lloyd, Cole, and Nya ran to him. The kraken screamed and tried to keep them away from a potential meal.

"Lloyd, if there was ever a time to find your true potential and unlock your powers, this is it!" Cole screamed.

"I don't know what my power is supposed to be! I don't know what Green means!" Lloyd screamed back.

Nya cowered over Jay as the kraken repeatedly slammed Zane into a boulder, trying to crack him open.

"It means you have the ability to harness the four primal elements! When you do it at the same time, it manifests as green energy!"

"Maybe your Lloyd can do that, but I can't!"

"Yes, you can! I can muster up one good shot, but you have to get Zane away from him first!"

Lloyd looked at Jay unconscious on the ground, Nya cowering in fear next to him, and Cole trying to keep out of the kraken's reach without hurting himself even more.

" You want your dad to see the real you? This is how you do it! Just believe in yourself! You can do this!" Cole yelled.

"I can do this," Lloyd whispered. He closed his eyes and inhaled a deep breath. He tuned out the shrieks of the kraken and focused on his breathing. He thought of his dad, who barely knew he existed. He thought of the citizens of Ninjago City, who hated his guts for no reason. He thought of his mom, who loved him and wanted the best for him. He thought of his uncle, who had given him a chance to improve his life. He thought of his friends, who counted on him every time they ran head-first into battle. He thought of his new friends, who wanted to help him more than anything. He felt a warmth rising in him. He opened his eyes and fire erupted from his fingertips. He blasted the kraken with fireball after fireball. The creature shrieked and tried to retreat into the ocean, still holding Zane.

"Get Zane away from him!" Cole yelled.

Lloyd fried the tentacle holding Zane, forcing the kraken to drop the nindroid onto a boulder. Cole immediately used his strength to summon a huge rock wall that sent the kraken flying a thousand feet into the air.

"OWWW!" Cole screamed as the beast landed almost half a mile away in the ocean.

Lloyd ran over to where Cole was on his knees, doing his best not to start cursing. Lloyd knelt down next to Cole, who put a hand on his shoulder. Cole tried to smile but he was in too much pain.

"Lloyd?" Jay asked.

Lloyd turned around. Jay was still laying down, but he was looking at him.

"Jay. Are you okay?" Lloyd ran over to him.

"I don't know. Where's Zane?"

Lloyd ran across the tiny island. Zane was laying on the ground motionless. His metal body was cracked and there was a huge hole in his torso. His arms and legs were barely attached to the rest of his body. Wires and oil were everywhere. As Lloyd tried to drag Zane back over to the Bounty, he thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He glanced up at the lighthouse and saw someone peeking out of one of the windows.

"Lloyd!" Wu called.

"There's someone in there," Lloyd said as the old man ran over to him.

"Is there?"

Lloyd slowly climbed up the steps to the door. He tried to turn the knob but it was locked. He was about to turn away when the door opened a crack.

"Hello?" Lloyd asked.

"Who are you? How did you defeat the kraken?"

"My name is Lloyd. I don't think I can explain what I did very well. But my friends might be able to. What's your name?"

"Dr. Felix Julien."

"Do you want to come out so we can talk?"

Dr. Julien slowly opened the door.

"See? Isn't this better?"

"Is… Is that Zane?" Dr. Julien pointed to where Wu was trying to drag Zane's body across the beach back to the Bounty.

"You know him?"

"I built him. He was stolen from me and I was locked in here."

"Uh, we really should talk on the Bounty." Lloyd led the old man down the steps.

Nya was trying to help Jay stand up, but he kept yelling in pain every time he moved. Cole was on his feet but walking very slow.

"Are you guys okay?" Lloyd ran over to help get Jay up.

"Gah! Don't pull on me!" Jay yelled.

"Sorry. We should get you to a hospital."

"Where's Kai?" Cole asked.

"He went to go check out the town hall. Ow!" Jay collapsed back onto the sand as he tried to get his feet under him.

"Hopefully he's faring better than you are."
