Hermione took a sip from her own drink as while she stared hard at her friends, who all but stared at her in amazement after all her talking. Ron in particular had his jaw dropped and his face was a little bit flushed form the fire whiskey he has been drinking tonight and Hermione couldn't hep but smirk as she lowered her glass back on the side table.

"So, you see Ron, you may think a lot of things about Fleur. But you cannot deny just how much she loves me. Yes, she can be a bit much at times and yes, there are quite a few times I question myself just why I tolerate someone like her. But I love Fleur, just as much as she loves me and you can say a lot of things about us, but don't you dare question our relationship, especially with everything we all have been through. I need Fleur and she needs me, and that is the end of the story."

Ron at least had the decency to look ashamed, ducking his head down to look at his lap and then playing with his empty glass with his hands before taking a sigh.

"Sorry Mione, it is just…the two of you are just…so different."

"That may be so Ronald, but you know the saying 'Opposites attract'? You may very well say that we represent that saying very well. But I don't care because we balance each other out perfectly. A lot of people would actually say so."

"Yeah, but-"

"Oh Ron, stop being such a prick!" Ginny suddenly said, leaning over and smacking her brother upside the head. Ron immediately turned to glare at his sister, but Ginny just rolled her eyes in response.

"I'm not! It is just if you just look at them from the outside-"

"You have literally known the both of them for ages, Hermione so much longer as well. Hermione is more than capable to find herself a partner who makes her the happiest and with how far she and Fleur have come, I would say they both have the happiness that they both deserve!" Ginny said, speaking hotly as she continued to glare daggers at her brother. Harry wrapped his arm around his wife and rubbed her arm in an attempt to calm her down, as well to prevent her from physically launching herself at his best friend.

"You have to admit Ron, they have gone through a lot together and they have been together for ages. I honestly can't think of anyone else who is more suited for Hermione than Fleur. She completes Hermione in every way."

"Thank you, Harry." Hermione said, grateful at the kind words that her best friend as saying. Harry flashed her a smile and nodded.

"Of course. I'm just telling the truth. You and Fleur are perfect for each other. She loves you so much that I think she buy the whole world for you if she could."

"And she would try it. I hope that everyone can see now that Fleur and I are perfectly in love and are happy. And that we don't need anyone outside judgements based on their own foolish opinions." Hermione eyed Ron hotly, directing the whole sentence to him and she saw him shrink into his seat, grumbling under his breath before he threaded his hand through his hair.

"It's not that I am saying that the two of you aren't in love-"

"But more with the fact that you think we shouldn't be because we are so different from each other?" Hermione interrupted, glaring at the red head again.

"I love Fleur for who she is, spoilt side and everything. And she loves me despite how uptight or perfectionist I am being. She makes me happy, and I know that I can count on her and she knows that she can count on me. She is my other half, and I don't care what you have to say Ronald, I will not let you insult our relationship just because of your foolish opinion. You know the two of us well enough to know that we don't take things lightly and that we will fight if we have to."

"Yes, I get that Hermione, I'm sorry. And I just want to say that Fleur-"

"What about me?" A French voice directed itself into the conversation, a pale arm wrapping around Hermione's waist and pulling the brunette into a warm body which automatically put a smile on Hermione's face.

"Ah Fleur, so glad that you could join us!" Ginny said, smiling innocently as she fluttered her eyes at the blonde who looked at the red head questionably. She turned to Hermione and raised an eyebrow.

"Are you all gossiping about me?" She asked her wife and Hermione just smiled before turning back to her friends.

"Not necessarily gossiping. More like…discussing our relationship through the years."

"Oh really?" Fleur turned her head back to their friends and looked at them questionably, perfectly sculpted eyebrow still raised. "And just what were all of you discussing?"

Ron suddenly shifted uncomfortably in his seat and the movement caught Fleur's eye as she turned to focus on him and narrowed her eyes, sensing that somehow the discussion may have been caused by him. But then luckily, he was saved by his best friend.

"We were just wanting to know how much you love Hermione. She is our best friend, and we all want her to be happy. So, we were just discussing how much you love her."

Fleur turned to look at the raven in surprise, not expecting such a topic to be of discussion. She thought it was already very obvious just how much she loved her wife. Hermione suddenly felt Fleur tighten her grip around her waist and was pulled closer into her, a kiss getting pressed to her temple.

"I love her with all my life. I will do anything for Hermione and as long as she loves me, I am perfectly content with my life. Surely that is a good enough answer to your question?" Fleur said, glancing back at their friends who all but grew knowing smiles on their faces as they saw just how clingy the blonde suddenly was getting, protective to rather say.

"Of course, we don't doubt your love for each other at all. Right Ron?" Harry suddenly asked his friend, who jumped at the sudden addressment. He flushed and quickly nodded, noticing the married couples' eyes on him before he excused himself to go get some more fire whiskey.

"Well, if that is all, please excuse Hermione from this conversation as I want to share a dance with her and I will not take no for an answer."

Fleur didn't even give time for anyone to answer as she all but led Hermione away, causing everyone to chuckle as the haughty side of Fleur has never faded away, not even in their older years. Hermione just smiled as she allowed herself to be led to the dance floor and wrapped her arms around Fleur's neck just as the blonde wrapped her own arms around Hermione's waist. They both automatically leaned their foreheads against each other, and Hermione smile softly as she gazed into Fleur's eyes.

"I love you." She said, her heart fluttering as she saw Fleur's eyes brighten as those three simply words. She leant forward and pressed a loving kiss to the brunette's lips.

"I love you too. Forever and always."

Yes, the two of them may be from different backgrounds, but they have gone through enough experiences in their lives to show just how similar they were and just how much the other balanced the other one out. Their love is something which is unique and beautiful and no matter what others say, they will always turn to each when in need.

Because that is what it is like having a soulmate. To have a home to return to.
