Authors note: This is set after Season 3 but Daisy doesn't run away from SHIELD after Lincoln's death and Coulson is the director. Also Bobbie and Hunter are still agents but only come into the base when they are needed. Hope you have enjoyed my story so far :)
Chapter 27
Ali jumped into her sisters open arms and her sister had to swing them both round to prevent them both from falling over.
"It's Daisy now."
Daisy had never felt this happy in a long time and relief was crashing over her. She finally had her little sister back in her arms after 4 years apart.
"You found me!"
Ali was relieved as well but not as relieved as Daisy was since Ali had made the plan to go and find her.
"I told you I would."
Both girls were in tears and Ali was still in Daisy's arms. Ali's comment though brought smiles to both their faces and Daisy pulled her head back from where it had been leaning against her sisters so that she could look at her better.
She could see the handprint bruise on the back of Ali's neck. It was a lot less noticeable than it had been the day before and was now yellowing.
You could only really see it if you were looking for it.
Daisy was horrified and held Ali tighter before putting her down on the floor so that she could look at her properly.
Ali had turned her eyes back to brown once she had jumped out of the vents, so Daisy had no clue as to the fact that she had powers.
"Are you okay?"
"I have found my new family!"
Daisy was of course happy for her little sister as she seemed happy but if it had been this new family that had caused that bruise then she was going to kidnap her sister and SHIELD was going to have a talking too with these people.
Ali knew what her sister was doing and that she had found one of her bruises that hadn't faded yet.
"I got kidnapped and they made it appear that I was dead. My new family rescued me."
Daisy seemed to accept this story as she could see the pain that Ali tried to hide in her eyes.
Ali didn't find it as hard to tell her story since she had told it before, but it still hurt a little.
"Why don't we talk in my room and we can catch up."
Daisy was trying to change the subject and from the look on Ali's face it had worked.
Neither wanted to acknowledge that they had a limited time that they could spend together but Ali knew that she couldn't keep Clint trapped in the vent above their heads forever.
She was just about to say something when a small Asian woman walked around the corner and came into view.
Looking back at Daisy to confirm that this woman was not a threat she noticed the similarities in their faces. They both had the same eyes just like her and her Mamma did.
Daisy put Ali down and Ali laced her arms around her so that they were hugging. She trusted May with Ali, but May needed to know that Ali wasn't a threat and at that moment Daisy was pretty sure the only things going through her head was how the hell did a child find this place.
She knew better than to ask her little sister that question and although she was curious, she also wasn't surprised that she had found her. After all she was Ali.
"Who is she and what the hell is she doing here?"
Ali wasn't scared by the venom in the woman's voice and for some reason it intrigued her, so she dropped her arms from around Daisy.
When Ali had dropped her arms from around her waist. Daisy take one of her hands in hers and held it. She was almost scared that if she let go her little sister would no longer be here and would disappear.
Ali looked curiously at May and seemed to be analysing her, so Daisy decided to answer May's unanswered questions.
"She is my little sister, and she came to see me as we haven't seen each other in over 4 years."
May looked at Daisy with a question written all over her face.
After analysing May, Ali had started to realise the mother daughter relationship that Daisy and May had and so she answered the question written on May's face.
"家庭不必像你应该知道的那样来自血液,因为黛西实际上是你女儿 (Family doesn't have to come from blood, as you should know since Daisy is practically your daughter)"
Ali was smirking at the end of her speech and Daisy was looking slightly shocked but mostly confused as she had no idea what her little sister had just said.
Ali had taken a guess when she had spoken Mandarin as to whether the woman knew it or not but the look on her face told her that should did.
No one had ever talked to May like that and called her out on her mothering instincts when she was around Daisy and so May was also shocked. She was also slightly surprised that the girl in front of her who did not look remotely Chinese and looked so young could speak Mandarin so well.
Daisy wanted to steer the conversation onto a more pleasant route and a route that included English.
"How did you find me?"
"I tracked the signal from the message and came in through the vents. I also might have hacked into the new database for this SHIELD.
Ali smiled sheepishly up at her sister as she had known what she had done was illegal and probably wrong.
"You beat Daisy's encryption?"
"Daisy taught me how to hack and my Mamma has taught me little bits about it too however she is nowhere as good as Daisy is at hacking."
May took a few seconds to try and process what she had just heard.
Daisy wasn't surprised really. The security she had put up around the phones needed updating anyways.
It was silent for a while and Ali was just about to request that her Uncle also be allowed into the base when a man rounded the corner.
Ali knew from photos that this was her Grandad who was supposed to be dead but wasn't. She wanted to run up and hug him, but she knew that he hadn't seen her yet.
"You all were supposed to be in my office 5 minutes ago so I could..."
He seemed to have spotted Ali now and instead of going for intimidation like May did he decided to ask Daisy what was happening since Ali was holding her hand.
Ali could see no recognition in his face and so decided to take matters into her own hands to make him remember./
"And who is this?"
Coulson said it in a voice which was calm, and he tried to make it so that he did not sound surprised that a little girl was in his super top secret base.
"Удивительно, что люди будут делать, когда недооценивают тебя (It is amazing what people will do when they underestimate you)"
Both Daisy and May knew that she was speaking in Russian but had no idea what she was saying.
Coulson didn't speak Russian but the words and the way that they were said transported him to a memory from 4 years ago.
"Can you repeat it in English?"
Ali nodded. She could see that he was trapped in a memory as he was staring of into space with a blank expression on his face.
"It is amazing what people will do when they underestimate you."
She said it with no more volume than a whisper to show to the woman next to him that she wasn't threatening anyone.
"You know my Uncle says that you are my Grandad. Please can you be my Grandad?"
Coulson's face seemed to break into a smile and he nodded and opened his arms out for a hug which Ali accepted.
The two women in the room where so confused but were too shocked to voice it at the moment.
"So, he did look for you then. Can you make sure he gets extra cooking lessons as his punishment?"
"He never looked for me, but he did find me though. He says he rescued me, but I still count it as him kidnapping me from my kidnappers since I had almost got out of the building when he and my other Uncles tranquillised me."
Coulson wasn't as shocked as the others since he knew who her Uncles were and that they hadn't really kidnapped her but both May and Daisy were horrified.
They both were thinking of a dark and dingy cell with Ali in the middle of it. They had no idea that she hadn't really been kidnapped a second time. Daisy decided to speak as she wanted to understand what had happened.
"Every piece of evidence and witness statements said that she and 4 others had died in a fire, but I am guessing that that was your kidnappers."
"They shot the mum and dad and two little boys right in front of me. They said it was my fault."
Ali was once again close to tears and trying hard to repress her memories. She knew that hopefully this would be the last time she would have to recount this story.
Daisy and Coulson were quick to comfort the girl and tell her that those people's deaths weren't her fault.
May had just drawn a connection to a memory from about a year ago.
They had all just gotten back from a mission and Daisy's phone pinged to say that she had received a text. Her face was covered in shock and she had immediately run to her room to go and find her computer. May had come in about an hour later as she just knew that something was wrong but also because the takeaway had arrived.
She found Daisy sobbing on the floor by her bed with her knees curled into her body.
Her laptop was on the floor and the page that was open was a news article about a tragic fire that had killed a family of 5.
May just held her that night and locked the door so no one could disturb them. All Daisy would say was that she was dead. May had no idea who this person was and when she asked a few weeks later Daisy would just repeat the same words before disappearing for an hour.
"Is she the girl who you wouldn't tell me about last year?"
Daisy just nodded and May decided to try and get on with this girl and not scare her for Daisy's sake.
Ali had stopped crying, but everyone could feel the waves of guilt that were washing over her.
"Ali it wasn't your fault. You didn't kill those people!"
Daisy could guess that she had survivors' guilt just like she did. Ali knew about Lincoln's death and knowing her sister she would take all the blame for it, so she decided to make a deal with her.
"What happened to Lincoln wasn't your fault either."
Ali felt and could see Daisy stiffen. No one had mentioned Lincoln in months because they didn't want to upset Daisy.
May was very close to shouting at the little girl for mentioning his name when Ali spoke again.
"Do you truly believe that the death of those 4 people was not my fault?"
Daisy just nodded her head but looked down into the eyes of her little sister to show that she was telling the truth.
"Then if you truly believe that then you also must believe that Lincoln's death was not your fault."
That was the day that the gap in Daisy's heart started to heal as she came to terms with the fact that maybe Lincoln's death wasn't her fault. She would still always feel a little guilty though.
May could see it in Daisy's eyes that this girl Ali had done more to help her heal in 5 minutes than she or anyone else had been able to do in 3 months.
Coulson could see it to but wanted to move on from this topic of conversation.
"Does Ali know about what you can do?"
Daisy and May both knew exactly what he was talking about but Ali didn't so she looked questioningly up at her sister as her sister shook her head in response.
Ali saw her sister pull out her hand at the same time as her grandad pulled out a pen from his pocket.
He then threw the pen up in the air and just before it fell to the ground it started hovering.
Ali looked over at her sister and could see the vibrations coming from her hand.
Her sister was just like her!
Everyone in the room was watching Ali carefully to watch her emotions and saw the wide grin that spread across her face. Only May and Daisy spotted the relief in her eyes.
Daisy didn't use her powers for long and soon dropped the pen to the floor.
Almost as soon as the pen had been picked up by Coulson, Ali spoke,
"Please Grandad, can I let my Uncle out of the vent. I sort of trapped him in there and he is going to phone my Mamma soon if I don't let him out."
Coulson nodded and said
"I guess it's time for all of them to know I am alive."
All three of the adults watched in stunned silence as Ali's eyes turned blue and a man with blond hair fell out of the ceiling with a bow in his hand and arrows on his back.
