Part 31

Caitlin followed Barry into their apartment. She could tell that he was not happy with her. He hadn't said a word since she got the call from Slade. She waited until the door was closed before she said anything.

"Bare, I know you aren't happy about my decision to trade myself for Mandy." Said Caitlin

"Cait, I know you have to do this. I am not mad about that. What I am upset about is that you didn't even talk to me about it before you made this decision. I love you and don't want to lose you."

"You aren't going to. Barry, once you get Mandy to safety I know that you will work with Oliver, Laurel and Sara to come for me and Thea. Not that I will be playing the damsel in distress."

"You seem sure that Sara is going to be coming too."

"Sara Lance is loyal to those she cares about. She and Laurel were my closest friends after my mom married Robert. I was one of the first people Sara came out to."

"Came out? So she is uh….."

"Gay? No she is more bisexual. But does lean more to women. She had this one girlfriend before she went on that boat with Ollie named Sin."

"Sin?"

"Her really name is Cindy. Be likes to be called Sin. Her mom died when she was a baby and dad was killed when she was like fifteen. She has been on her own ever since. Sin, grew up and still lives in the Glades. She is a bit rough around the edges but not a bad person. There is a medical clinic in the Glades it was opened by Tommy Merlyn's mom. I use to volunteer there while I was in med school. Sin came in a couple of times needing stitches from being in a fight. Not one she started. I was the only one she would ever tell the full story to. She trusted me. I usually let her know when I am in Starling in case she needs anything. Last time I was there before Ollie came home she was sick and needed antibiotics. She had no money to pay for them. I went with her to the pharmacy and paid for them. She is too proud to ask for hand outs. But I told her to pay me back once she got better to keep an eye on the younger kids in the neighborhood and make sure they didn't fall in with the gangs and drugs if she could prevent it."

"That is kind of sneaky. From what you told me of Sara's friends I bet Sin would have done that anyway."

"True. But it made her feel better like she wasn't taking charity from some rich girl. Not that I ever acted like one."

"Of course not. But I am scared to lose you."

"Barry, I know. But this is something I have to do. You need to remember that Slade doesn't know about me being Frost. I don't plan on just having the tracker embedded into my skin. I am going to wear a com. Though I don't know how long I will be able to keep it. Slade might search me for it."

"Cait, what if he kills you?"

"He won't at least not until he can do it in front of Oliver. He wants to make Ollie choose which sister he wants to lose."

"What does this guy have against Oliver?"

"He blames Oliver for the death of a woman he was in love with. A woman that was young enough to be his daughter."

"That is kinda creepy."

"Yeah it is. But Oliver told me that Slade was given this drug developed by the Japanese during World War two. It was to make super soldiers. But it killed more then it worked on and the ones it did. It made them crazy. Oliver if he can get a sample of the drug wants me to make a cure for it."

"Well if anyone can it's you."

"Well if Ronnie's sister Jesse was out of school she might be able to. I mean she might be smarter than me."

"I find that hard to believe."

"You met her. She is brilliant."

"So are you."

Barry leaned down and kissed Caitlin. Then he swept her off her feet and took her to their bedroom.

It was early the next morning as Barry and Caitlin walked through the halls of the lab heading for the cortex. They had just entered when Caitlin heard Sara's voice.

"So Snowy, you finally have fallen in love."

"Sara, I still hate that nickname. But it is good to have you back." Said Caitlin wrapping Sara in a hug.

"Good to be back. So you going to introduce me to the man the melted the heart of the Snow Queen?" asked Sara

Caitlin rolled her eyes. As much as she had missed her friend she had not missed her teasing.

"Sara Lance this my boyfriend, the man that I love. Barry Allen. Barry meet Sara Lance one of my good friends." Said Caitlin

"Nice to meet you Sara. Cait has told me a lot about you." Said Barry

"Damn Caitlin must love you. She hates anyone calling her anything but her given name. Always telling everyone not to call her that." Said Sara

"It took a good six months before she stopped telling me not call her Cait and let it go."

"That should have been your first clue that I was in love with you Barry." Said Caitlin kissing him.

"By the way Barry, you break Snowy's heart and I don't care how fast or far you try to run. I will find you and break you." Said Sara

"Why is it everyone you know from Starling wants to hurt me if I hurt you Cait?" asked Barry

"They just want to protect me. Don't worry I have faith that you won't hurt me."

"Caitlin, I don't think you understand how dangerous Slade Wilson really is. He will kill you." Said Oliver

"Ollie, I understand. But I am not going to risk the life of Mandy. Slade has never met anyone like me. I have picked up a few new tricks since we trained together. I can now make armor out of ice. It is nearly impenetrable. But thin enough not to be noticed." Said Caitlin

"I still don't like this plan."

"Ollie, I going to be fine. I know that you are scared. But I am the only one that can survive this. Slade will kill Thea. I need to get into his hideout and get the mirakuru. You want me to find a way to reverse it. I need a sample first."

"I know. It's just I love you Snowy. You are my sister just as much as Thea is."

"I know. I love you too big brother. But you need to let me do this."

"Ok. But we are definitely making sure that you have a tracker."

"Wouldn't have it any other way."

Caitlin hugged Oliver making sure he knew that she appreciated how much he cared about her.
