-Chapter 29- Answers

Team JDTE approached Austin and the Silver Eyed Warriors, not up for much words after they told Team JDTE to follow them they headed for a residence in the city of Mistral, all the girls looked around, Mistral was beautiful, a city built into a cliffside was breathtaking, Daisy couldn't believe she grew up a train trip away from this majestic view and never been there. Instead of heading to the higher levels of Mistral they descended to the lower levels, Austin told the girls not to get lost, be on your guard but don't pick fights as the area they were headed to was pretty rough. Walking through darkened shadowed streets, in alley ways lien was exchanged for something possibly illegal, if you needed something here you could get it if you had the lien.

Austin handed a small bag to someone that nodded them through for passageway and they finally arrived into a small abandoned store. The girls looked at their surroundings and kept their guard up, they were much better trained now but there was no way of knowing the Silver Eyed Warriors true agenda and could they really face Austin? Inside Austin led them into the back of the store where he opened a secret door and told Jade to go in first telling her it'd be worth it. Tiger drew one of her swords and placed it at Austin's neck telling him if it were a trap then he'd be dead, Eada stared at Tiger but she knew she was looking out for her friend and they were in a bit of a sticky situation if it was a trap and a fight broke out.

Jade had to make a choice and with the help of Daisy holding her hand they both stepped into the room trusting Austin. Jade squealed letting go of Daisy's hand, Tiger was ready to attack but Daisy stopped her as she showed her into the room, in there was Jade hugging Julie and David, the team went in seeing the whole room was actually a large warehouse which was the Mistral Silver Eyed Warriors location of laying low. The other Silver Eyed Warriors headed in their own directions but Austin stayed with Team JDTE, after Jade had her quick emotional moment with her two oldest friends she had to ask what was going on. Austin offered everyone a seat and said he'd start to explain.

Austin, David and Julie made sure to embrace Team JDTE and warned them that this was an extreme secret like Eada being the Fall Maiden, Eada's eyes grew in shock as she had guessed nobody but Qrow and Ozpin knew, Austin looked to Eada and apologized as it was his fault, the girls were bewildered saying it couldn't be his fault as he wasn't even around, Austin then cut them off asking them how they thought the previous Fall Maiden knew who Daisy was. The girls stared blankly at Austin, realizing the truth as Austin was the one to show the previous Fall Maiden Eada's picture and told her Eada's name. Eada looked to Austin and asked if she wasn't the Fall Maiden then they'd be unaffected and still at Beacon none the wise of the truth.

Austin nodded, thinking that would cause Eada to lash out at him but she accepted it and explained that what she was given wasn't a burden but a gift, a gift to do something important, a gift that would help shape the future of Remnant and the gift that brought her brother back into her life. She got up and hugged Austin, they stood there for a few minutes, the rest of Team JDTE could see Eada really needed this so they remained quiet, David and Julie knew there was no time frame so they kept quiet to. Once their hug was done Eada returned to her seat and apologized which was waived off by everyone, Austin then started once again the reason David and Julie had to "disappear" with quotation marks was to be undercover moles working for an enemy.

David and Julie took over especially making sure Jade was ok as they explained their actions and the reason they wanted to put a stop to this plan, they told team JDTE that Salem supported a project being engineered by Dr. Merlot. Jade couldn't believe her ears, Dr. Merlot had taught the trio when they studied at Signal, her immediate question was to ask why Dr. Merlot was doing this and how did he get tangled up with Salem? Daisy and Julie comforted Jade and gave her the truth telling her they did not know but perhaps they could be the ones to infiltrate his plans and potentially talk him out of his current project once they build up enough trust to stop him from causing a pandemic that would affect all of Remnant.

Many people had been kidnapped by Dr. Merlot's agents and on official reports David and Julie were on those reports, the people kidnapped were questioned and they either ended up being his lab rats to perform tests on or actually help him with his project which David and Julie made sure to do so, they were the ones to alert Professor Ozpin and the plan formed with Qrow, Austin and the Silver Eyed Warriors. Daisy then remembered what questions they were going to ask and the 1st question on their list was what was the deal with the light that killed the Grimm? Austin then explained how people with Silver Eyes were born destined to be warriors, they had the power of killing Grimm just by looking at them and continued even though Team JDTE thought he was pulling their leg.

He explained that after their very first mission outside of Beacon he had to know what he actually did to kill the Grimm which caused him to pass out, telling them he spent a lot of time in the library in between classes and training and it wasn't until Professor Ozpin had approached him and gave him some information about how the power of the Silver Eyes worked. Team JDTE was shocked as in order to kill or even freeze Grimm in their place all Austin or the other members of the Silver Eyed Warriors had to close their eyes, think of something that brought them happiness and then open their eyes. He explained though that sometimes a larger amount of Grimm may take a toll on him by knocking him out.

Team JDTE accepted the power even though they found it quite unbelievable and wanted to see if it was true however it was Jade that then asked what part they played in on this. David and Julie looked at each other, stepping to Jade and telling her that the next part of their mission was to convert a Huntsman or Huntress and who better then Jade as Dr. Merlot trusts Julie and David then he'd have no problem trusting Jade as they were all good friends, it was the mission given to them by Dr. Merlot himself and with this way Julie and David could keep an eye on her and even prevent anything bad happening to her. Jade nodded understanding what they were asking of her and her team, Austin then told her she didn't have to do it but also had a bit of time to make up her mind and talk about it.

Austin looked at Daisy, Daisy, Tiger and Eada looked to Jade worried however knew that Jade would do the smart thing and talk it over with not only them but with Austin, David and Julie. First things first though the girls went to different parts of the warehouse just to process the news about everything by themselves, it was alot to take in and they were glad they had the time, not only did they have to worry about Salem but now Dr. Merlot was going to release a new threat on Remnant. Jade made her way to Daisy when she thought she was ready, giving her the first choice if she should go along with the plan but also to check on how she was doing. Jade and Daisy wrapped their arms around each other as they talked.

Austin approached Eada asking how she was going with the whole Maiden powers he cursed her with, Eada tried to sound tough at first but Austin knew it was an act as he pressed for how she really felt. Eada let out a sigh and a few tears rolled down her cheeks saying it was a lot of stress, yes she had a great and important power, this gave her life more of a meaning but the training from Ozpin was hard and she was expected to do more, Austin apologized once more and hugged his older sister, perhaps a hug would be better as Eada needed one before maybe she needed another now, it did work to some extent until they parted then the two siblings had a much needed catch up.

Tiger stood alone, yes she was friends with all of them but it had always been her, she had tried to track down Gretchen's brother Hazel ever since he left Vale but she couldn't find him anywhere, Nell and Ray were back in Vale and sometimes it made Tiger wonder if she should've quit becoming a Huntsman with Ray and Nell. She stared at her team's very first picture, only just over a year ago they were on a team taking the photo, naive and carefree. Ray and Nell found each other in the forest whilst Tiger stumbled across Gretchen. It wasn't until Qrow appeared next to her with his own picture of a team that was now apart and could somewhat help understand the feelings Tiger had as he begun to talk to her.

The Silver Eyed Warriors did their own thing but remained quiet knowing Austin's friends were going through a lot right now, in total including Austin there was 11 members and it appeared Austin was the leader. Over the next few days Team JDTE discussed their potential plans with Austin and Professor Ozpin and Jade wasn't going to work with Dr. Merlot, the plan they made was going to be much more aggressive, Julie and David would bring Jade along pretending she'd cooperate and work with them but they'd be constantly tracked with the rest of Team JDTE and the Silver Eyed Warriors to establish an attack, what they didn't know was one of the Silver Eyed Warriors was working for Salem and informed her their plan.

Over the next few days as everyone got prepared for their attack and studying the layout of Dr. Merlot's lab and informed what he was making to infect the Grimm with a toxic radioactive substance as not only would Grimm be unaffected but they would spread the substance wherever they went and would kill more people and make it harder for Kingdom's border defense as people infected could spread it within the Kingdoms. The plan was to infiltrate the lab and destroy all progress, wipe the computers and dispose of any created serums and arrest Dr. Merlot and then maybe they could stop this before it became a problem for Remnant. Everyone made sure they knew the plan and what was to be done as the next day they would carry it into action.

Austin had spent time with everyone, even Tiger who wasn't the biggest fan of him, Austin apologized once more and did mention that he appreciated all the help she gave his team, in the end Tiger understood, talking with Austin she realized she was more mad that herself being unable to find Hazel, Gretchen was gone, it just sucked. Austin spoke with his sister, then spoke with Jade which helped ease her nerves as well as having Daisy's full support in the plan, Daisy would be in their first if Jade was in any danger. Before they were going to attempt their mission Austin took Daisy aside for a word just in case things went bad but he needed to talk to her, this was more than just about them being good friends, this was about Jade and Daisy's future together.

The next day finally arrived as Daisy pulled Jade in for a big hug and a kiss, reluctantly letting her go with David and Julie first as Austin watched them take off then ordered everyone onto two airships splitting the forces, Austin, Eada, Daisy and Tiger along with 3 other Silver Eyed Warriors were to back up David, Julie and Jade as a potential rescue and destroy everything in the lab and on the computers while the other team was going to shut down the power system and see if they could rescue anyone. Both teams would be on the lookout for Dr. Merlot with the priority of bringing him in alive. As soon as Jade, Julie and David started their journey there was no backing out now as Austin made sure the tracker was working.
