The Ultimate Tyranno is towering over the three Harpies, who are staring at him, trying to hide their fear.
Rex seems delighted. 'The Ultimate Tyranno will destroy all your monsters this turn,' he explains. 'You see, thanks to its special ability, it can attack all your monsters on the same turn!'
And the Ultimate Tyranno, despite being called ultimate, is not even Rexes truly ultimate monster! But it seems it's enough to defeat Mai.
Mai does not seem as upset as Rex thought. The boy wonders why. Of course, her face down cards! At least one of them must be a trap card that can save her admittedly sexy butt. Well, in that case...
'Look what I've got here. Another Dinosaur Stampede!' Rex smiles and shows her another copy of the spell/trap destroying spell card he played earlier.
Mai gasps, with her eyes widening. One of her face down cards is indeed one that she was counting on. Female Solidarity. (ORIGINAL CARD; FIRST APPEARED IN CHAPTER 6) She was planning to activate it when Rex attacked one of the Harpies. By sending another Harpy from her deck to the graveyard, she would temporarily double the ATK of the Harpy under attack, thus taking down that gargantuan reptile.
However, now Rex is about to destroy one of her face down cards. And if he chooses wisely... Mai gulps.
'Let me see... which card to destroy...' the teenager drawls with a sadistic grin, caressing his chin, his eyes darting from one face down card to the other. 'Decisions, decisions...'
After what might as well have been an eternity, he finally makes up his mind. 'The one on the left,' he points a finger.
Mai smiles. 'Are you sure?' she asks with a flirty look.
Rexes grin widens. The old Rex (Duelist Kingdom era) would have fallen for that. But not his current self. He knows this kind of mind games! If he had not chosen a card vital for her strategy, Mai would never have tried to make him doubt his choice. Therefore, this is definitely the card the girl has placed all her hopes on. She's trying to act cool with that smile of hers, but, inside, she is desperate right now. If he destroys this card, it's all over!
'Yes, I'm one hundred per cent sure,' Rex yells. 'I DESTROY THE FACE DOWN CARD ON THE LEFT.'
Mai's eyes widen in terror as a portal opens again above her field and a dino paw stomps on and destroys the face down card on the left, which turns out to be Female Solidarity indeed!
'Female Solidarity, huh?' Rex caresses his nose in satisfaction. 'That card could have caused me problems. But now it's gone! And I can tell from your horrified expression, sweetie, that it was your last hope.'
'Oh, no,' Mai thinks, with her eyes bulging and sweat trickling down her face. 'If the Ultimate Tyranno attacks and destroys all three Harpies now, I will take 3600 points of damage and lose the duel.'
'Honey, I hope you are ready for a crazy night of sex with Rex Raptor,' the boy laughs triumphantly. 'ULTIMATE TYRANNO, ATTACK!'
The gigantic monster starts, slowly and sadistically, walking towards the three female monsters, each step causing the ground to vibrate.
Mai smiles. 'Heh! Your hunch was right, Rex. My other face down card isn't a trap indeed.'
The boy momentarily takes off his hood and scratches his head. 'Yeah. So why are you happy?'
'Because it's a quick play spell card!'
'Huh?'
'JESTER OF THE HARPYS' COURT,' Mai cries, activating the aforementioned spell card. (ORIGINAL CARD)
This quick play spell card depicts a jester wearing a multicolored uniform trying to entertain the Harpy Celestial Monarch (the ritual monster Mai played during her duel against the Exodia user), who is sitting on her throne with a bored expression on her beautiful face. Around her, there are also three other Harpies (presumably her royal court).
'This card can be activated when there is at least one Harpy monster on my field and one trap card of mine has been destroyed by an opponent's card effect this turn,' Mai explains. 'This jester is so sweet that he will do anything to ease his female masters' grief over the recently destroyed trap. Even let me pick another trap card from my deck and activate it!'
'SAY WHAT NOW?' Rexes jaw drops.
'Thanks, Rexie,' Mai winks with a sarcastic smile. 'By destroying my trap card, you gave me the opportunity to get an even better one. MIRROR WALL!'
'CRAP BASKETS!' Rex cries as the well known continuous trap appears on the field, blocking the Ultimate Tyranno's way.
The tyrannosaurus tries to break the glass wall with its claws and teeth, but all it manages is to reduce its ATK points to 1500.
'This permanent trap card...' Mai is about to explain.
'I KNOW!' an exasperated Rex interrupts her. 'It reduces the attacking monster's power by half.'
'In this case, not just by half, sweetie,' Mai giggles. 'Have you forgotten your own monster's effect? It is forced to attack all my monsters, which means it will attack two more times, with its ATK points being decreased by half every time!'
'SON OF A...'
Rex did not finish the sentence above. He's just staring, with his eyes widening, as the Ultimate Tyranno's ATK value decreases to 750 and then to 375!
The once almighty tyrannosaurus is now trembling, struggling to remain standing.
Mai bursts into laughter. 'Your monster has become almost as weak as Kuriboh, Rex,' she comments.
Unable to do anything else this turn, Rex sighs and declares the end of his turn.
Mai takes a more serious expression. 'And now, I will show you some real power. MY LADIES, UNITE YOUR POWERS. TRIANGLE ECSTASY SPARK!'
The three Harpies form a triangular energy blast with 2700 ATK power. The aforementioned blast engulfs and wipes out the Ultimate Tyranno, reducing Rexes life points to 775.
Mai crosses her arms in a confident manner. 'There is no way I can lose now,' she thinks with a smile.
'There is no way I can lose,' Rex thinks as well, trying to convince himself. 'I won't allow that whore to humiliate me again. I must not let it happen!'
It's the boy's turn. He draws a card and looks at it. He smirks.
His eyes forward. 'Mai, prepare for my truly ultimate monster.'
'Bring it on, Rex,' Mai replies with no fear.
'I play this spell card. Ultra Evolution Pill.'
This spell card depicts a capsule, half pink and half violet.
'By tributing one dinosaur on my field, I get to special summon another dinosaur from my hand,' Rex explains.
The Black Stego vanishes and is replaced by a green T-rex wearing armor plates. 'BEHOLD, THE SUPER CONDUCTOR TYRANNO (3300/1400).'
Mai rolls her eyes. It doesn't matter how powerful Rexes monsters are. As long as the Mirror Wall is on the field, all his monsters are useless.
'Of course, I know that, due to the Mirror Wall, my monster cannot touch yours,' the boy carries on. 'So I just won't attack on this turn. I set 1 card and end my turn.'
Mai raises an eyebrow. Why is Rex happy? He himself admitted that he cannot attack as long as her continuous trap card is on the board. Is there a way for him to win without attacking? Does this freaky monster have a special ability on top of its absurdly high ATK power?
Yami Mokuba is pacing the room, impatiently.
Marik is casually sitting on the floor, with his back resting against the wall, and gazing at his partner.
'Everything is going well,' Marik comments at some point, to break the silence.
Yami turns and glares at him. 'Everything is going well?' he snaps.
'I mean everything is going well if your aim is to create a trench in the floor by pacing,' Marik adds and bursts into laughter.
'This is no time for jokes, idiot,' Yami screams. He grabs a chair and angrily throws it towards the control panel, scaring a scientist and almost damaging the super expensive equipment.
Marik is still smiling.
'Have you realized that, if nobody plays the God Card, our plan is ruined?' Yami continues, panting with rage. 'How do you even know that your sister did not just destroy it a long time ago?'
Marik gets a solemn expression. He stands up, in a graceful manner. 'God Cards cannot be destroyed, fellow,' he says, dusting himself off. 'Just as Millenium Items.'
It is true that one cannot escape their fate by trying to destroy a Millennium Item or throwing it away. Just as it didn't work when, in another timeline, Tristan tried to get rid of the Millennium Ring by throwing it away.
Such is the case for God Cards!
Pegasus might think he solved the problem when he burnt Obelisk to ashes. The truth, though, is he solved nothing!
It's Mai's turn again. She draws a card and looks at it. She grins.
She doesn't know what Rex is up to, but she guesses it no longer matters. For the spell card she has just drawn will put this to an end.
'Harpy Phoenix Formation,' she cries and places on the board a card depicting a brownish hexagram with the drawing of a blue phoenix in its center.
The three Harpies raise themselves in the air, with a gaseous bird connecting their bodies. This special attack will not only destroy all Rexes monsters but also inflict to him damage equal to the ATK power of his strongest monster on the field, that is to say, the Super Conductor Tyranno. In other words, Rex will take 3300 points of damage and lose.
Or he would lose, if the spell card was activated in the first place! 'Magic Jammer,' the boy cries, activating his face down card.
Mai cries in shock.
'To activate this card, I need to discard one card from my hand to the graveyard,' Rex explains and discards the last card left in his hand, Volcanic Eruption, which is useless to him right now anyway, since it can be activated only when there is a Jurassic World field spell card on the field. 'Your spell card's activation is negated.'
The gaseous phoenix disappears and the three Harpies return to their original positions.
'It's... your turn,' Mai stutters, having a bad feeling, no longer feeling safe behind the Mirror Wall.
Rex draws and looks at his next card. He smiles and subsequently plays it. 'I summon the Sabersaurus (1900/500) in attack mode.'
A red triceratops appears on the field with a bellow.
'Next,' Rex continues, 'I tribute the monster I just summoned in order to activate the effect of the Super Conductor Tyranno.'
'Effect?' Mai wonders, feeling her heart skipping a beat.
'By tributing one monster on my field, I enable the Super Conductor Tyranno to inflict to the opponent 1000 points of direct damage!'
'SAY WHAT NOW?' Mai shrieks in a feminine manner.
The Sabersaurus vanishes. The tyrannosaurus raises its arms and roars. A thunderbolt is emitted from its armor, bypasses the Mirror Wall and the Harpies and strikes Mai, causing her to step back and her life points to fall to 1400.
'This is really bad,' Mai thinks. 'Every time this jerk draws a low level monster, he will be able to inflict 1000 more points of damage to me and the Super Conductor Tyranno is too strong to beat in combat.'
To make matters worse, the Harpy Phoenix Formation is in the graveyard. Even if she draws and summons the Harpy's Pet Dragon and he gets the ATK boost from all these Harpy Ladies, he will still be no match for that monster.
Oh, God. What is she going to do?
Some more turns passed. Slowly. Sadistically.
Mai now has five monsters on the field: the three Harpies, the Unfriendly Amazon and the Dunames Dark Witch. She has only 400 life points left; Rex activated the Super Conductor Tyranno's ability once more during the off screen time, by tributing one Oxygeddon.
Essentially, what has saved Mai from defeat so far is that one time Rex didn't happen to draw a monster card and another time he drew a monster card but had to immediately discard it due to the side effect of the Card of Demise he had played earlier (see previous chapter).
However, this cannot go on forever. And Mai just remains helpless, no matter what she draws.
It's Rexes turn again. 'Let's see, will I finish you off this time?' the boy mumbles as he draws a card.
Mai gulps. The moment Rex draws a monster, she has to get laid with him! Oh, God, what has she got herself into?
Rex mumbles curses. 'Darn, not a monster this time either,' he complains.
Mai sighs in relief. Relief she knows full well is only temporary.
'However, this spell card can help me in another way,' the boy adds, to Mai's further trepidation.
'Card Index,' Rex cries and activates the spell card he just drew (ORIGINAL CARD). It depicts a laptop with the back of a card on the screen. 'This allows me to look at the five cards at the top of my deck and rearrange them as I like!'
'NO!' Mai cries in despair.
Rex looks at the top five cards, rearranges them and puts them back. Now it is 100% certain that he will draw a low level monster next turn. And, when he sacrifices it to activate the Tyranno's effect... bye bye virginity! The boy rubs his palms together, giggling in a creepy manner.
It's Mai's turn. With the eyes of a dead fish, the woman looks at her deck. 'I don't... I don't think I have any card in my deck that can save me under these circumstances,' she inwardly admits.
Slowly, she places her hand on her deck, having surrendered to her fate. Let's draw the last card and get it over with.
However, as soon as Mai touches her next card, something miraculous happens!
