Chapter Thirty Eight:

Nothing of particular notice happened during the rest of the train ride, from the perspective of the people connected to the Supernatural World at least. The Cockroach and the Worm did show up, on separate occasions, with the closest thing to a ruckus that the two managed to cause being interrupting Blake's nap. Thankfully, the glares they earned from the Demi-Dragon Goddess was enough to make them leave. Luna joined in on the second glare, which caused the Worm to not only flee like a bat out of hell but also wet himself, mainly because Karna had gotten bored with watching the passing landscape through the window and decided to take a page out of her mom's book and take a nap of her own, claiming her mommy's other lap as a pillow. Unlike her daughter and granddaughter, Ophis didn't end up getting bored for the remainder of the train ride, mainly because she found herself entertained by the various Wizarding candies (the animate one to be more specific).

The sleeping Demi-Dragon Goddess and Reincarnation were awoken by the train's speaker system (or at least a magical equivalent of one) announcing that the train was approaching the train station, accidentally causing the two girls to bump their heads against one another. While neither one of the two girls really got hurt, it was particularly unpleasant for Karna when her own and her mom's very much physically stronger skull collided. Blake did pretty much immediately give her daughter a gentle kiss on the sore spot on Karna's forehead, with the Demi-Dragon Goddess's face twitching in a manner that showed concern and minor regret, even if it was pretty much only the occupants of the compartment that could tell, while simultaneously healing the pain. Luna couldn't help but smile fondly at the scene of affection, not that her mate seemed to notice, though the possibility that she did notice but simply played ignorant was still there.

Once they reached the actual station platform things got a little… awkward. Mainly because of Luna having difficulties trying to explain things to her father, which actually made her mate look visibly uncomfortable. While that was happening, Ophis was simply watching with Karna riding on her shoulders, who had managed to convince her grandma to let her do so, with the main argument being that she wouldn't get lost and pushed around by the crowd. As a way of preventing Karna from falling off her shoulders, Ophis had partially transformed into her true draconic form, causing a rather large curved spine to extend out of her spine in between her shoulder blades, using it as a kind of improvised backrest for the Reincarnation. Who was enjoying a bowl of popcorn, using Ophis' head as an improvised table. Rather strangely, none of the popcorn had fallen on either Ophis' hair or outfit.

"Where did you get that?" Wondered Ophis.

"Practically bottomless bag and a very large collection of popcorn with various flavors. Both average ones and… stranger ones." Answered Karna with a shrug as the Reincarnation took another handful to popcorn.

"Stranger ones?"

"Like really spicy ones or very unusual candy-flavor."

"What kind of candy?"

"On the top of my head? Salty lakritz and fudge."

"No cotton candy-flavor?"

"Not yet at least. This collection of popcorn is huge, so there might actually be a few with the flavor of cotton candy. You know, I can't help but feel that Mom, Mommy and grandpa shouldn't have their conversation here."

"Agreed."
