Characters: Molly W.

Molly trudges up the stairs and goes into the attic. She can't help herself. It's already the second time this week and it's only Wednesday.
There it is, the ghoul, the familiar ghoul, with her darling little Ron's pyjamas on. The ghoul looks up at her and growls, as if to say: You again?
Yes, me again, she thinks sadly. Sometimes, on the worst days, she'll actually talk to it. A ghoul! Arthur's tried to stop her, but she can't. She needs to see it, to see him.
Because, the truth is, she wishes so hard the ghoul is actually her darling little son that sometimes, she sees him instead of the horrible creature that has kept her awake till the early hours of the morning far too many times.
Her darling little boy. She didn't tell him she loved him enough, and he probably didn't know how much she adored him. It's a thought that gnaws her in the night, when the banging pipes and her own mind keep her up. Ronnie thought he wasn't loved so he had to go and become best friends with Harry Potter of all people!
Don't get her wrong, she loves Harry dearly, almost as much as if her were one of her own but…
The ghoul look up at her sadly, it's ugly face completely over it.
It isn't Ron, it isn't. Ron will come back, he will, he has too. That's what she tells herself. That's what she makes herself read in the ghoul's eyes. Everything is going to be okay.
It grunts at her, twice, and she almost bursts into tears. But now is not the moment. She takes a step back, and makes her way out of the attic. For the moment, she is okay. She is. She can leave now.
Molly goes back downstairs, back down to do what needs to be done. But part of her heart is still up there, with that ghoul, and another part of it is lost, somewhere where she can't find him.
