At the Hinata house, Kageyama and Shoyo had just finished a short volleyball practice. Recently, they had taken turns on whose house they were staying at each week, and this week, it was Shoyo's turn. Volleyball had also become a recent development. They enjoyed how they could just relax and hit a few sets and spikes. And when they finished with practice, they went inside to talk, have a drink, and sleep.
"So," Shoyo decided to break their silence, "who are you interning with, Kageyama?"
Kageyama took a long gulp of his milk. "I honestly don't know." He looked over at Shoyo, who was staring at him. He blushed. "I mean, I got an offer from Deku."
"Woah!" Shoyo's eyes widened to twice their size. He leaned over. "That's so cool, Kageyama! Deku also gave me an offer, but I don't know if I should intern with him."
Kageyama scowled. "Didn't Tiny Giant give you an offer?"
Shoyo flushed. "No, he didn't. According to my mom, he was one of the heroes who wasn't even watching the games."
"Oh." More silence. Kageyama sipped more of his milk before asking, "Did your mom give you an offer?"
"Kageyama," Shoyo whined.
"What?" Kageyama raised an eyebrow. "I was just asking."
Shoyo hid his face, too embarrassed to look at his tall friend. "She did, but don't tell anyone, okay? It's embarrassing."
"Your mom's a pro hero with sidekicks, Hinata," Kageyama said slowly. "You're probably the most popular guy in our class. I don't think anyone would think less of you just because you're going to your mom's agency."
Shoyo looked up from his pillow. "I guess." He looked right into Kageyama's dark eyes. "Would you be mad if I went to Deku's agency with you?"
Kageyama looked a little taken aback. Shoyo wondered if he crossed a line. "I guess I wouldn't," he grunted. "I'd probably be annoyed, but not mad at you. It's your decision."
"Great!" Shoyo exclaimed. "We'll be partners!"
"Don't say we're partners, I still haven't decided if I was going to Deku's agency yet!" Kageyama argued.
"Would the two of you shut up?!" Natsu shouted over the two of them.
"Sorry, Natsu," they said in unison, as if they'd practiced.
They watched as the tiny redhead marched away, grumbling something about how annoying and loud teenage boys are when she's trying to sleep. They looked at each other, shocked. Then they started laughing.
A/N: This has become more about romance than action...i mean, the action is coming up, but still- anyhoo, hope y'all enjoyed and aren't too bored with what's happening so far ^^
