It all happened so quickly. Her brain hadn't even begun to catch up with the fact that Goren had a gun pointed at her. Her adrenaline was causing her heart to race. Her hands were red and slick with sweat as she gripped her gun and it took every ounce of self control not to fire out of instinct when the gun moved toward their direction. Then, recognition. Bobby?

Her thoughts were speeding fast along her racing heart trying to make sense of all the information she had. Those thoughts spilled out of her mind in droves. What is going on here? Did it really come to this? Did you really give up on NYPD and join forces with this scum. Was this your way to stick it to the department? "Two big white guys." "What about yours [Partner]? Did everyone know? Why did he keep this from me? He knew I wouldn't approve. Was he ashamed? or Angry? or Hurt? Was he trying to hurt me for our last fight? Selling drugs and acting as muscle for criminals? Really? Surely, you had better options than that. What are you going to do now? There was no way they'd bring you back now. You made sure of it. God! How could you be so stupid? Pointing your guns to a squad of swat officers. Were you suicidal? You are lucky I stepped in when I did. You would have been shot to death.

There's no fixing this, she told herself. There isn't a way to spin it or a way to smooth out to persuade them to go easy on him. Hell, he still hasn't paid out the penance of his last discretion.

All she could do is spin her wheels until she was able to talk to Goren, herself. Hopefully, I'll get the chance. I just need to know why. I need to look him in the eyes while he explains how he got mixed up in this mess. I told him that NYPD would come around. Why couldn't he just wait until they got their heads out of their collective asses.

Eames, Daniels, and Captain Ross went to the holding cell where Goren and Stoat sat waiting. As they were checking in and about to approach them, she saw Stoat say something to Goren but unfortunately she was just out of earshot.

Goren sat there doing his best impression of nervous energy, which wasn't too hard to do since he still needed to face Eames. I hope she understands.

"How you miss that wire, Bobby?" Stoat's head rested on the bars. How are we going to get out of this mess?

"I screwed up," Goren answered as he kept his head down and his voice laced with dread and impending doom.

"Okay, don't worry about it," Stoat quickly thought up an excuse, "We were just working security. Testarossa went off on the guy and you grabbed the gun to get him to stop. Okay."

"Alright. Okay, thanks."

At that moment Eames, Daniels, and Captain Ross were approaching the cell. Daniels took possession of Stoat to place him in the interrogation room. Goren, head still in a downward cast, and folded hands, sat with anticipation and dread. They unlocked his cell and he rose to his feet.

"Testarossa's lawyered up" Captain Ross spoke to Goren.

Eames crinkled her nose up in confusion. Why is he just talking to him like normal? Why isn't he reaming him for joining the bad guys?

"What about melago?"

Wait a minute. What the hell is going on? "What's going on here?" I knew these two were up to something but they were doing this behind my back.

"Is now okay?"
