CHAPTER 51: The Plot Has Re-Entered The Building (Fandom: Leonardo DiCaprio)
Ui'tvk wasn't ever the greatest at his job. Not that he had to be good when his job was literally grabbing things to sell from dying worlds. Except that's exactly why he was here.
Grabbing stuff to sell normally isn't hard. Go to a store, grab everything that isn't universe specific, then leave and repeat. Turns out Leonardo DiCaprio's Oscar is universe specific and can't be sold.
Not to anyone who isn't Leonardo DiCaprio at least.
So to keep his job, he promised to sell it to Leonardo DiCaprio.
Now, he's in this tiny Dollar General sitting inside Leonardo's bedroom with one thing on the shelves, the Oscar.
He's been there for a few years at this point, asking every morning and evening if DiCaprio wanted to buy his Oscar for $20. The only reason he's been here so long is because he apparently found one of the only versions of Leonardo DiCaprio that cares about honorably getting one.
He could leave and try and find another Leonardo, one that would buy it, but he found he likes this one. And he promised to buy the Oscar when he officially gets one.
He still asks every day, just because it's a good conversation starter.
Leonardo always asks if he needs anything, how his day has been, what books he likes to read and what he's read recently, any interesting stories from other universes, and just is really kind.
Even if Ui'tvk will never sell this Oscar he doesn't mind, it's nice here.
And then Leonardo wins an Oscar.
Ui'tvk holds the Oscar, sitting just outside the tiny Dollar General, waiting for Leonardo to get home. Then he'll go home and get back to a simple day to day job. He loves his job, yet can admit he'd hate to leave.
Leonardo walks in with a large wad of cash, saying, "I'm keeping my promise."
Ui'tvk stands up and asks, "Why so much money? It's only $20."
"Because nothing says I can't buy your building to keep my roommate."
And they were roommates.
"Oh my, they were roommates. I thought this was the story of why there's a Dollar General in Leonardo DiCaprio's bedroom, not a love story."
"Well Doctor, who says it can't be both?"
