Granger got a text from Hetty saying: 'Meet me at the Santa Monica pier tonight after work.'

'Wonder what she wants.' He thought.

That night

'Okay, I'm here. What do you want?' He asked Hetty.

'I thought it was time we went out on a real date, not unofficial, no maybies, but a real one.' Hetty answered.

'Heh heh. So much for taking a break.'

'I was thinking, and. Why wait a few more months?' She responded.

A few minutes later

'Never took you for a cotton candy gal'. Granger said.

'There's a lot you don't know about me. You should try this stuff sometime.' Hetty replied, while eating cotton candy.

'Pass.'

'Want to go on the Ferris Wheel after I eat this?'

'Sure'.

Later on the Wheel

'As far as real 1st dates go, this has been pretty good. Usually I completely blow them.' Granger said.

'I haven't been on a real 1st date in, forever. So, I was a little nervous about tonight as well.' Hetty responded.

'Well, you are doing good.'

'Thank you.'

'How's Kensi doing?' Granger asked.

'She's doing good. Last I heard.' Hetty replied.

'Deeks is having a hard time. Had to give him some good advice today. I feel for the poor guy.'

'I do too. But I feel confident that he and Miss Blye will make it through this somehow.' Hetty replied.

'How can you be so sure of some things?'

'It's called having faith.'

Later that evening

'You didn't have to win me this stuffed bear.' Hetty said.

'Nah. I only did that to show off. (chuckle chuckle).' Granger responded.

'Well. Either way, it was very nice.'

'You're welcome.'

'I, may not be ready to go the girlfriend route yet, but. This is a nice slow start.' Hetty replied.

'That's okay. I like the slow pace too.'

'Well, See you tomorrow.' Hetty said. Then she hugged him.

Smiling, 'Mmm. See you tomorrow, Henrietta.' Granger replied.
