Skara moved her way through the cave. She didn't know if there were traps set up or anything so she tried to be careful. She walked for a few minutes before her foot touched something. She looked down and saw a Hex. She started to panic; she doesn't know if she can survive a Hex. She's heard about them, highly dangerous motion detecting spells. If you step on one without knowing, then when you remove your foot, it blows up. She felt a knife press against the back of her neck and she tensed up.
"You shouldn't be here." The masked man said.
"I-I-I... I had-"
"We'll talk about this later. Right now, I need to get away before you blow your foot off."
He kicked a rock, roughly the same weight as Skara, onto the Hex while simultaneously pulling Skara away.
"There, now, what are you doing here?" He asked.
"I... I needed to speak with you."
"Well, if that's the case. Come with me."
He led Skara to another part of the cave. While this was happening, Eda walked back into the Owl House. She looked at the eldest child on the couch.
"Okay, where's your sister?" Eda asked.
"She's in her room." Lucia said, holding a bottle towards Eda, "You want some?"
Eda sat next to her and took the bottle. She started drinking it, hoping that everything she thought would happen, wouldn't happen.
"Rough night?" Lucia asked.
"You could say that." Eda said.
Eda didn't know what to do. Her uncle isn't someone to mess with, he's the single most ruthless vampire hunter of all time. She can't let him hurt Luz, but she doesn't know how to keep him away from her. She felt a hand touch her shoulder.
"You're worried." Lucia said, "What's the matter?"
"I... I'll tell you about it later."
Eda handed the bottle back and walked up to Luz's room. She opened the door and walked over to Luz's coffin. She opened it and saw Luz sleeping. Eda smiled and closed the coffin. She left and leaned against the wall. A bigger question popped in her mind.
"What am I going to do with Lucia?"
Eda hasn't really thought about what to do with her. Does she have her help her in the stand? Does she enroll her in Hexside? There were so many things that she had to figure out. She was getting incredibly confused, she decided it would be best to deal with this in the morning.
This story is going to go on a brief Hiatus. There's only about ten chapters left and I need to rework and replan how I want to end it. In the meantime, how about you check out my new story, called Runaway Blights. Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
