Hi guys Azza here!
I know that Amazon Lily has gone fast but really I kind of needed it to because there is a lot to do for the next two arcs so getting out of there as quickly as possible was crucial. Hopefully you all still enjoy it though!
Erasenpai946 – Honestly the closer I got to this arc the more I just felt like Luffy x Boa just wouldn't really work compared to them being friends. Natsu isn't getting with her either in any romantic sense though its just one of those really strange friendships where they are comfortable around each other enough to do stuff like take baths together and torture people.
Natsu and Yamato is still 100% a thing though, it basically ties into my plans for Kaido so it has to be.
Guest – He's due for one during the timeskip which will be the one of the last few left for him to receive.
Anyway on with the story!
I do not own Fairy Tail, One Piece or the Nasuverse.
Departure From Amazon Lily
/Natsu's POV/
"Were they meant to scream like that," Boa asked nervously as the now much smaller group walked through a dimly lit tunnel. "D-don't get me wrong Natsu, I'm grateful that you did what you did but-!"
"To channel what I did into the bodies of beings that possess no Aura, they were going to feel pain," Natsu sighed in response, cutting her off before she could finish. "For you it'll be a little different since you have latent Aura potential."
"I do?"
"You possess a Devil Fruit, Armament, Observation and Conquerors Haki and are at an age where using such a power wouldn't kill you or have any other adverse effects on your human body. Your Sisters aren't going to be able to unlock Aura through what I've done, but you most certainly will."
"Aura," Boa muttered to herself as their steps echoed throughout the dimly lit cavern system. "Such a strange power to conceive any mortal being having and yet I've seen you use it firsthand."
"Luffy is close to unlocking it naturally you know," Natsu mentioned with a small smile as he thought about the Straw Hat Captain, idly wondering if he'd been beaten to death or not. "The path I'm taking to unlock it for them is much harder, but will likely make Luffy, Zoro and Sanji much more powerful in the long run for having done so."
"So, mine will be weaker?"
"Yes and no. To put it simply, you've got groundwork that they don't have Boa, but they have a greater need for it, if that makes any sense?"
"A greater need for it? Is that because they are almost always finding themselves put up against foes who are far greater than them? Foes like the World Government, Warlords, Servants and those Anti Beasts you mentioned earlier?"
"Precisely," Natsu grinned as he tried to pat her head only for the Warlord to smack his hand away. "What? Don't like being praised?"
"I'm not five you idiot so cut that out and keep talking about Aura!"
"Fine, your Snarkiness-!"
"I will kick you in-between the legs if you call me that again!"
"Gotta catch me first!"
"Hmph!"
"Anyway, where was I again …"
"You were telling me about why Luffy's Aura would be stronger than mine because he is unlocking it naturally," Boa supplied prompting Natsu to nod.
"Right. So, the main point of it is to look at it like this. Let's say you found out Observational Haki exists, so you ask someone who has it to just magically unlock it for you. Boom, you now have Observational Haki."
"Ok."
"Now, what do you think would happen if that scenario played out?"
"Well … I would have Observational Haki, I just wouldn't know how to use it."
"Correct, but also incorrect."
"How is it incorrect?"
"To unlock Haki, one can only attain it when certain parameters are met. You know that much, right?"
"I am aware that there are certain requirements, though no one is exactly sure on what exactly they are."
"Well then, allow me to give you what I believe to be the main reason behind how one acquires Observational Haki then!"
"A theory?"
"One that Shanks thinks might actually be legit, so keep that in mind."
"Can't argue with that," Boa shrugged in response, knowing full well who Shanks was and where he stood on the proverbial tier list in their world.
"Right, so here's how I see it. Observational Haki is divided into two spheres, Perception and Precognition. Perception is the ability of how one identifies things around their person within that moment in local Space and Time."
"Like how we can perceive a gun firing at us from point blank within less than a microsecond?"
"Yeah, that's a pretty good way to look at it. Anyway, Precognition sits at the opposite end of the spectrum. Using your example of the gun being fired, it is basically the same as Perception, only this allows you to perceive the attack ahead of when it is set to be carried out."
"Like how we would see someone attempting to carry out the attack and react accordingly to either counter or evade?"
"Correct."
"But Observational Haki is both of these things though, so why is it divided into two spheres?"
"That ties back into my point, Boa. Haki has layers to it that most people clearly don't understand, layers that can affect your ability to use it. Most users I've fought sit somewhere around the middle of these two spheres, with only one being an exception."
"And who was that?"
"A God by the name of Enel. He currently has what I consider to be the highest form of the Perception sphere of Observational Haki in this world, beating out even the likes of Shanks."
"WHAT!?"
"He might have been a bit of a gullible bastard, but Enel's Haki when combined with his Devil Fruit allowed him to pick up literally anything for hundreds of kilometres in any direction from his current position. Then, without even doing more than lifting a finger, he could kill whoever he wanted within said radius because they'd have no idea he was even attacking them."
"S-surely you're exaggerating," Boa stuttered as she took a step back to fully absorb what Natsu had just told her. "Y-you aren't … are you? I never could have conceived Observational Haki being used so precisely like that …"
"And think about it, someone who is focused entirely to the Precognition sphere would be able to predict the future with such precision they would know what was coming in a fight seconds or even perhaps minutes ahead of time."
Boa froze in place as the full implications of Haki hit her. Until the moment Natsu had broken down Observational Haki for her, she had been content in her command over the three spheres. But now, now she knew that there were beings who easily eclipsed her own prowess by such a margin …
"Perhaps I shouldn't go through with this …"
"Its entirely up to you if you want me to do this Boa, you don't have to do it now if you don't want to."
"Do you think I should? How close am I to unlocking my Aura naturally?"
"Hmm. It varies from person to person, but from what I can tell you have all the base requirements down for it so really it'll just take some kind of event to trigger it."
"W-wait, really!?"
"Yep."
"What kind of event!?"
"Haven't got a clue."
"…"
"I'm serious," Natsu snapped at Boa's stern glare. "Like I said just before, everyone is different and for you it'll be something else entirely! Anyway, can I get back to my long-winded speech!?"
"I suppose," was the huffy response to which Natsu snorted in amusement to.
"Anyway, tying back my little bit about Observational Haki into unlocking Aura naturally as opposed to artificially. Let's say I unlock your Aura for you right now and boom, you have it at your beck and call. What would be the first thing you'd try to do with it?"
"Well, I'd obviously try to use it, what's your point?"
"My point is, Boa, that by doing exactly that you would kill yourself."
"…What?"
"Aura is a power well above Haki. Actually, the more I think about it, Aura is basically a kind of 'level up' from it in most ways. Using it, you can hit Logia Fruit Users, use both Perception and Precognition paths of Observational Haki and utilize the power of Conquerors Haki all at the same time. I think Shanks put it best when he said that Aura was like wielding ones Haki at its fullest potential."
"Interesting. So, if I were to unlock Aura, my Haki would become redundant?"
"No. Haki is something ingrained into this world and by extension into you," Natsu quickly replied as he thought of a way to explain what he was trying to get at. "Take Armament Haki as a prime example. That can actually damage me when I'm actively trying to shrug off attacks, even if its weak."
"So, it's still crucial, but Aura would simply enhance it further?"
"YES! That's the gist of it, or at least that's what Shanks and I believe. I mean, we still aren't a hundred percent sure why Devil's Aura turns Armament Haki from Black to a Red colour or when two Conquerors clash, it has cataclysmic effects on the environment and the people around them."
"This is a lot to take in …"
"And a lot of it might not even be factual, so don't worry too much about it," Natsu laughed as they reached the back of the caverns. "Like I said, its currently all just theoretical in nature and should be taken with a grain of salt. But, that crap aside, we're here!"
"So we are," Boa muttered as Gorgon rose up out of the hot water she'd been resting in. "Hello Gorgon."
"Master," the colossal Lamia nodded before looking over toward Natsu. "I see you didn't waste much time, did you?"
"In my defence, you said you knew me and my quote 'unignorable bullshit' so you should've seen something like this coming."
"True. I won't even deny that I had contemplated it," the Avenger replied before looking over at the other Servant in the room, her smile not fading. "And how are you doing?"
"Fine, all things considered," Avenger sighed tiredly. "I'd been meaning to stop by again but Master only just got back and Natsu decided to be himself so-."
"Oi!"
"Yes, he does have that affect," Gorgon laughed as she laid down along the edge of the hot spring, resting her head on her arms as her hair swum around lazily in the water. "Am I free to use your True Name here?"
"Everyone in this room is aware of it so I don't see the harm."
Former Queen Of The Amazons
Daughter Of Former God Of War Ares
Mythical Hero Of The Trojan Wars
Queen Penthesilea (Avenger)
Bounty – 295,000,000 Berries
"Good," Natsu sighed as he adopted a slightly more relaxed stance. "Was tired of tiptoeing around your own name, Penth."
"Use my full name or don't use it at all!"
"Whatever you say, Penth."
"You're insufferable."
"I'm also better than you."
"Ass."
"Where? I don't see any donkeys around?"
"As amusing as this is, and as grateful as I am for the company, why have you all come here?"
"Now that's the real question, isn't it? I was going to gift Boa with some of your power which would have altered that stain upon her back, but we've decided to hold off until she gets access to her Aura."
"A wise decision Master," Gorgon nodded in approval. "You are not yet ready for the power of the Devil's Aura, though you are indeed quite close. Know that when the time comes, I shall indeed bequeath some of my power unto you should you still desire it."
"Thank you, Gorgon, truly," Boa muttered quietly, the cave quickly becoming awkward as everyone just kept looking between one another in silence.
"Alright, enough of this crap! We've got a much more serious topic to discuss with you Gorgon, one that involves the safety of your Master."
"Is that so?"
"The World Government is demanding my presence at Marineford in order to participate in a war. After conferring with Natsu about it and coming to the realization that we can help each other out, I've decided to do as the World Government says."
"Why? What has Natsu offered you?"
"It was more that I opened her eyes to the grim reality should she not accept their proposal," Natsu sighed in response.
"Should I not accept then I shall be stripped of my Warlord status and the World Government has promised to launch a full-scale invasion of our home."
"Then I would simply obliterate them all," Gorgon hissed in response as she dragged herself out of the spring slightly to bring her face close to the group. "I swore to defend this place Master, do you doubt my power!?"
"No, I do not. But Natsu has informed me of the enemy and their power and it has given me cause for concern."
"You would've felt my battle with Kenpachi back on Sabaody, Gorgon. He wasn't even one of their Generals, nor was he their only Servant. Accompanying Bartholomew Kuma at Thriller Bark, there was another Servant who was as strong if not stronger than Kenpachi was. They also have Esdeath tied to Aokiji who possessed Devil's Aura at a frigidity I haven't felt since the Alvarez War. The level of power at their command is fierce and I just don't want to see you guys get swallowed up battling the World Government head on!"
Gorgon didn't say anything for several moments, instead choosing to look between Natsu and Boa with slightly glowing light purple eyes. A low hissing sound from her hair echoed all around the cavern which made everything even more unnerving than it already was.
"So, whilst Boa is gone, I assume she's also taking Penthesilea?"
"I will not allow our Master to be without one of us during a war, Gorgon."
"Good. I would be rather disappointed if you did," Gorgon nodded as she slowly receded back into the water. "But I'm curious, what are you doing for Natsu, Master?"
"I am accepting the offer the World Government has made in exchange for a favour," Boa replied as she looked over to Natsu before looking back at her Servant. "I will be requesting to see the man set to be executed at Impel Down before heading toward Marineford."
"And you believe they will allow this? Why would they risk exposing the most secure prison in the world just to force you to do your job?"
"Because they won't have any other choice but to, because Boa will have done what not even their Admirals and Servants could," Natsu chimed in with a dark smirk. "She will have captured the man who single handedly killed three Celestial Dragons, destroyed the Gates Of Justice at Enies Lobby and more or less torn apart their influence wherever he's gone."
"Surely you jest …"
"I'm dead serious Gorgon. I will allow myself to be captured so that Luffy and I can sneak into Impel Down, orchestrating the most daring prison break this world has ever seen!"
"Are you mad!?"
"Yeah …"
"Right," Gorgon sighed tiredly. "I forgot I was dealing with YOU!"
"Anyway, I've got to go find Luffy and have that talk with him so I'll leave you three alone for now. We can meet back at yours once I've filled him in on what's going on."
"Of course. Whatever preparations you two need to carry out will need to be done by this afternoon since we already sent off my acceptance to Momonga."
With a curt nod, Natsu vanished and reappeared somewhere in the jungle. Looking around he noticed Luffy was asleep in a tree branch and shook his head. Kicking the tree once, he shattered it at its base which startled the rubber man awake, both falling down to the ground with a loud crash.
"OI! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!?"
"You were asleep and I needed you awake."
"WHY NOT JUST WAKE ME UP LIKE A NORMAL FUCKING PERSON!?"
"Because we don't have time for you to mess around Luffy," Natsu replied firmly which surprised the Captain who quickly simmered down.
"What's going on?"
"Luffy, I don't know how to tell you this," Natsu sighed as he reached into his coat and pulled out a rolled-up newspaper. "Look at the front page."
Luffy cocked his head to the side but took the paper regardless. Unfurling it, Natsu watched as the man read it, his eyes slowly widening until they were bulging out of their sockets. His hands started to shake; the paper being dropped to the grassy forest floor as the now gaping man looked at him in disbelief.
"I saw this last night, Boa confirmed its validity," was the grim reply as both looked down to the massive bold title.
SECOND DIVISION COMMANDER CAPTURED!
EXECUTION OF PORTGAS D ACE SET ONE WEEK FROM TODAY
"No …"
"Luffy-."
"No …!"
"Luffy, keep it together-!"
"No way-!"
"LUFFY," Natsu roared as he grabbed the man by the neck and pinned him to a tree. "Don't you dare fucking break down on me right now, I need you calm and stable!"
"And just how the fuck am I meant to stay calm," Luffy snapped back. "My fucking Brother is gonna be executed in a week!"
"Four days, actually," Natsu replied which only earned him a sterner glare. "But don't worry because I've been planning from the moment I found out about this and I think we've got a shot at busting him out of prison before he even gets to Marineford."
"Wait … Is that why you and Hancock weren't partying with us last night?"
"Pretty much. Though we also did some stellar bonding exercises."
"…"
"Don't look at me like that!"
"…"
"Contrary to what you might believe, we didn't fuck so get your mind out of the gutter!"
"Why is your hair straight?"
"Boa did it because I said it wasn't possible so she actually pulled it off to prove me wrong. But enough about my lack of shagginess, back to the Ace thing!"
"Right," Luffy nodded sharply as Natsu sat down on a root across from him. "So, what's the plan?"
"Alright, it's gonna go a little something like this …"
/The Servant State Of Eden – Same Time/
As Natsu filled Luffy in on the plan to break Ace out of Impel Down, another meeting regarding the Second Division Commander was about to take place between the leaders of a long-standing alliance.
"Its almost midday, open a hole in the teleportation barrier," a Knight called out as another began rapidly pulling a series of levers, another Knight nearby flipping switches with just as much gusto.
At the centre of a courtyard stood Arthuria, Iskandar, Waver, several members of the Knights Of The Round and the infamous Honor Guard who stood tall along the singular path toward the hall behind the gathered Servants and other representatives.
A Blood Red portal opened, several figures emerging to the roaring cheers of thousands of assembled civilians and soldiers alike. The tallest figure grinned as he walked along the path toward the waiting Servants, a slight clang from his weapon barely audible over the roar of the crowds.
Once the small group reached the waiting Servants, Iskandar stepped forward and extended his hand with a grin. The taller man grinned back and accepted it eagerly, the two clasping each other just past the wrist as was custom among Iskandar's time.
"Whitebeard you old bastard, good to see you again my friend!"
"Gurarararara! Likewise, Iskandar," Whitebeard replied heartily before moving over toward Arthuria and accepting her proffered hand with much less strength. "Good to see you as well, Arthuria."
"Indeed. I am glad to see you are looking better than the last time we met, Whitebeard."
"Heh. Illness isn't going to stop me from getting things done."
"I wouldn't expect it to," Arthuria smiled before looking over toward the others who had accompanied Whitebeard. "It is good to see you all as well, a shame it couldn't be under better circumstances."
"Don't worry about it, yoi! The fact you guys agreed to help us already has a smile on my face!"
"Yeah, we wouldn't have blamed you if you didn't want to face the World Government alongside us."
"Nonsense," Iskandar laughed. "You are our ally and friends! It is thanks to Whitebeard that we even had the means to construct Eden to begin with so it wasn't all too difficult to agree to help!"
"I'm glad you all think that way," Whitebeard nodded. "But that brings us to the main topic of my visit."
"The war," Iskandar nodded neutrally. "Getting down to business is definitely prudent considering the timeframe we've got."
"No doubt the World Government has had ample time to prepare their own plans at their leisure," Arthuria chimed in as the group ascended the ornate steps and walked into the Palace Of Kings. "We've had the greatest minds working on plans, the Casters scrying Marineford and the administrators allocating all that we can toward the war effort."
"Taking Enies Lobby was actually a stroke of genius if I may say so," Waver chimed in, lighting a cigarette as they all moved to take seats at the massive round table. "As you know, we've already got Casters fortifying the foothold you gained there Whitebeard and its already shaping up to be an excellent staging ground for the assault."
"I figured it would've been. Sengoku probably wasn't expecting anyone to try using that right after Dragneel thrashed the place," Whitebeard replied with a small smirk. "Can't say I'm surprised though, that guy really has been on a rampage from the moment he arrived."
"So, do we have an idea of the enemy's numbers yet," Waver asked as he summoned a slip of paper from nowhere along with a pen. "The sooner we know that, the sooner we can actually start planning troop numbers, battalions, Servant roles and the like?"
"Knowing how wary Sengoku is of me, don't be surprised if he's decided to recall the majority of the forces at the World Government's disposal. I'd go as far as to expect Marineford itself to be packed to the brim with soldiers."
"Whitebeard's right, they fear his strength like no other. I would assume at the bare minimum to expect around the two hundred and fifty thousand mark," Iskandar nodded in agreement. "We can't quite match those numbers, but we can come pretty close."
"Indeed. We've recalled all the fleets and prepared our armies for the war to come. I doubt anyone within the World Government's ranks will be quite prepared for the numbers we've got behind us," Waver smirked, his Zhuge Liang side taking over fully. "Servant numbers will need to be bolstered since we know that the World Government has over forty at the bare minimum at their disposal thanks to that one Cipher Pol Aegis Zero Agent we captured."
"Not all Servants are equal though, keep that in mind Waver," Iskandar replied sagely as he turned to face his right hand. "Until the last day of planning, we won't have a definitive idea of how many Servants should be deployed."
"I'm aware of that my King, I was merely providing the statistical side of things for Whitebeard's sake."
"We have Servant's of our own as well, as you all know," Whitebeard chimed in as he held his right hand up to show off his set of Command Seals. "Though compared to the World Government, they are few."
"Indeed," a new voice chimed in as an older man who stood on Whitebeard's right finally deigned to speak. "However, it is important to draw wisdom from many different places. Though Waver's statistics are just that, statistics. They shall still allow us to prepare for a variety of hypothetical scenarios and avoid catastrophe."
"It sounds like you speak from experience-no, I can tell that you do," Iskandar replied with a genuine smile. "I can tell that you know war."
"Indeed, I do. In my life, I made many mistakes both as a leader and as a simple man. But whenever I think back on my decisions, I like to remind myself of this little saying. Good times become good memories, but bad times make good lessons."
"Wise words," Iskandar hummed in approval. "Wise words indeed."
"If you don't mind my asking, were you perhaps a military leader of some sort when you were alive," Waver asked which prompted the older man to smile softly.
"I was a General, though I was discharged in disgrace when I refused to follow my Brother's descent down a dark path. I'll never regret that decision since it coincided with another saying I'm rather fond of."
"And what saying was that," Arthuria asked curiously.
"Sometimes, the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else."
Everyone in the room seemed to agree with what the Servant had said, Iskandar in particular grinning widely across to the man who seemed rather embarrassed he'd said anything at all.
"You are quite wise," the King Of Conquerors said as he rose to his feet and walked around to meet the Servant. "You would've made a great foe to face upon the battlefield, I can tell just by looking at the way you carry yourself. You are the kind of General most could never be."
"Oh, well I wouldn't say I'm anything too special," the Servant replied with a blush. "Actually, I'm more of a pacifist than anything else!"
"Perhaps you are," Iskandar agreed. "But it is clear that unlike them, you would fight for the right reasons without a moment's hesitation. You have my respect."
"Oh, thank you kindly," the man replied humbly as he shook Iskandar's hand with surprising strength.
"Aha! He even boasts considerable strength, a sure sign that he is the perfect kind of General!"
"With respect, I think we've gotten a bit off topic," the Servant replied as Iskandar returned to his seat. "Perhaps we should go over how best to integrate our forces instead of my silly quotes?"
"Your quotes aren't silly, they actually are wise just as Iskandar said," Arthuria replied kindly. "However, I do agree that we should get back on topic. Let us return to the matter of overall forces …"
/Amazon Lily – Several Hours Later/
"I still don't like this idea," Luffy frowned as he looked down at Natsu who was currently bound in chains.
"We don't really have a choice; they'd just kill Ace if we popped in and tried to take him plus, we want to make sure Boa and her people are in the clear too! Now shut up and hide dumbass!"
"Fine," Luffy huffed as Boa opened part of Natsu's jacket, the Captain hopping right into his coat pocket which left many of the Amazons completely flabbergasted as to how such a feat was possible.
"Alright Boa, you good to go?"
"I don't like this either, but I'm grateful you've helped me find an out for all of this."
"We're friends now, and that's just what friends do," Natsu grinned back. "Please excuse my behaviour for when Momonga arrives too by the way, but we've really gotta sell this act."
"I'm aware."
"You good to go Avenger?"
"I don't like this pla-."
"ALL OF YOU SHUT UP ABOUT THE PLAN!"
"Its stupid," Avenger hissed back. "They'll butcher you for what you've done!"
"I'll be fine, you guys just need to not slip up and it'll all work out," Natsu snapped back as one of the Amazons called out, spotting a lone Marine ship heading toward the port. "Right, enough of this crap for now …"
Natsu seemed to pass out as the ship drew closer, both Boa and Penth gaining hardened gazes the closer the ship got so they could slip back into their usual personas. Once the ship docked, Penth picked up the bound Natsu and dragged him over toward the boarding plank where Vice Admiral Momonga was waiting.
"I have to admit, when you told me you'd captured this bastard I was sceptical," Momonga said as he looked at the seemingly unconscious Natsu. "How did you manage to contain him?"
"There isn't a man alive who can resist my beauty," Boa snapped as Penth punched Natsu in the side to wake him up. "Observe!"
Natsu groaned and slowly opened his eyes, meeting the hate filled ones of Momonga.
"What the fuck-!?"
"Be silent," Boa snapped as he found his head snapped in her direction.
'Alright, time to degrade myself …'
Natsu's eyes turned into pink hearts, his scowl morphing into a rather disturbing grin as he tried getting closer to Boa.
"Oh, my darling Hancock! I've missed you so much, please shower me with more of your lo-!"
Natsu was cut off as Boa turned him to stone before looking over at Penth. Momonga was completely shocked at how easily Natsu had been handled and looked between the Master and Servant pair.
"Where can I put this … man," Penth spat which snapped Momonga out of his musings.
"W-we've got a cell lined up for him," the Vice Admiral stuttered as he brought the two on board. "Follow me!"
Boa and Penth followed Momonga down below deck and into a room completely made from Sea Stone. There were no windows, no lights and nothing other than sea stone regardless of where you looked. Boa opted to stand outside the door and observed as two Marines strapped him to the floor with even more sea stone chains.
'They really aren't taking any chances with him, are they.'
Once he was strapped in, Momonga asked her to reverse him from stone, which she promptly did so. Natsu, true to form, almost immediately began thrashing about and acting as if he'd finally been caged.
Boa noticed out of the corner of her eye that Momonga bore a dark smirk and knew that the trip to Impel Down wouldn't be without incident for Natsu, but held her tongue as she remembered his request.
"Now come, I'll show you all to your quarters. Let's leave this filth to rot down here!"
Boa nodded stiffly as the sea stone door was shut behind her, Natsu's screams being cut off as the door was sealed up tight. As she walked toward her room, she vowed to repay Natsu for what he was doing, knowing full well that it was mostly her stubbornness to accept the summons that prompted her inclusion in the Impel Down plan to begin with.
As if sensing that she was upset, Boa felt Penth's hand on her own, a knowing look that promised they'd speak soon about it. Nodding in return, the pair left their friend in the dark, only Penth sensing that there was a sizeable group of Marines around the corner from the room waiting for them all to leave.
She hoped she'd be able to control herself when they saw him next.
Hope you all enjoyed and I'll see you in the next one!
