I sat in the passenger's seat of Maryse's car, waiting on both Eve and Morgan to exit the airport. The two women had been on the same flight to get here to Los Angeles, where Ted and Ryse had moved together. My flight had arrived a little before their flight though, so Ryse and I had grabbed lunch and dropped my things off at the house before going back to the airport to wait on Eve and Morgan.
Michelle was also supposed to be around for this as well, but unfortunately, the baby had gotten sick. Michelle didn't want to leave the baby at home, so we were just going to call Chelle for a video chat for her to see the dresses we were looking at.
Ryse looked at me. "So how have you been doing?"
I shrug. "If you couldn't tell, I'm still really tired. I just don't understand because I'm getting a healthy amount of sleep, but I feel exhausted all the time."
"Maybe jet lag is finally catching up with you after all these years."
"Maybe. I am pretty tired."
"I understand. It's a shame that Chelle couldn't be here."
"Yeah…but the baby is her first priority now."
"I fully understand that. I mean couldn't do this last week because my twin nephews were having their first birthday. I didn't want to miss that, and there's no way Morgan would've missed it."
"Exactly."
"How are you doing mentally though? I know what Monday is."
I sigh. "Well, I cried at my therapy session yesterday. Pretty bad, but I think it's out of my system enough that I'll be fine for work tomorrow."
"That's good that it's out of your system at least. Hopefully you won't be too tired. I plan on being at Survivor Series."
"Really? That's great! I'll have someone to hang out with other than Randy."
Ryse laughs. "If the baby is feeling better, you may be able to convince Michelle to go to Survivor Series as well."
"Maybe, but that depends on the baby. There's Eve and Morgan."
"Great. Let's go pick them up and get out of here."
Sunday: November 11, 2012 10:39 A.M.
Ryse looked at Eve, Morgan, and I as the four of us entered the bridal store. "Okay, so the wedding colors are burgundy and gold. I would prefer to have two of you in each color. So whichever color only one of you takes, Chelle will just have to be in whatever color one of you chooses. Who wants to try on dresses first?"
Morgan looks at Ryse. "I guess I will since I'm the maid of honor."
"Okay. That's a good plan." Ryse looks at me and Eve. "You two just sit out here and wait until Morgan starts trying on dresses to tell us what you think."
Eve and I both nod. "Okay."
"Maybe one of you can video call Chelle to get her in too?"
"On it." I say.
"Thanks, see you in a few." Ryse follows Morgan to go get a look at dresses.
Eve looks at me as Ryse walks away. "Morgan was telling me on our flight yesterday that Maryse has been going a bit OCD about this stuff. She even said that Maryse was acting a bit like a bridezilla."
"Really? That's not good. I hope she isn't too bad today."
"Me too. Neither you nor Michelle were that bad about your weddings."
"Yeah, speaking of Chelle, we should probably get that video call started soon, huh?"
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea."
"I'll call her here in a minute."
"Okay, how have you been feeling?"
"I'm still really tired honestly. Ryse thinks jet lag may be catching up with me after all these years."
"Well, you have been travelling with WWE for the better part of eight years now. Maybe it is that."
"Maybe, I'm just not sure that's what it is."
"I'm sure you'll figure it out. Are you going to be fine at work tomorrow? I know tomorrow is the anniversary of your father's passing."
"I cried a lot at my therapy session on Friday. I'm hoping I just went ahead and got it out of my system."
"I see. Speaking of your therapy, how long have you been doing that? I don't remember you mentioning that at all when we were still talking before WrestleMania."
"My Aunt Caroline gave me the idea when Randy and I visited her back in May. By the end of the month, I was in therapy."
"Oh, I see."
"I'm going to video call Chelle now."
"Okay."
I get my phone out of my purse and video call Chelle. "Hey, we're dress shopping."
Chelle: "Hey, how's that going?"
"Well, Ryse and Morgan are looking at dresses for Morgan to try on right now. Eve and I are just waiting here."
Chelle: "Oh, I see. What colors are we working with?"
"Burgundy and gold." Eve answers. "Maryse wants two of us to be in each color."
Chelle: "Okay. I see what she's doing. Those should both be good colors."
"Yeah, I'm good with that as long as none of the dresses she wants us in are too tacky."
Chelle: "Ryse has good tastes though. I'm sure we'll be fine."
"I'm sure you're right."
Ryse looks at us as she's walking to a dressing room with Morgan and two dresses. "One of these is burgundy and one is gold. We both think Morgan will look good in both. Help us figure out which one looks better."
"Okay." Eve and I comment.
Chelle: "Ah, those were the days."
I laugh. "You made it easy on us though. It was either light blue or dark blue. I actually can pull both of those off really well."
Chelle: "I know that. What about your wedding though?"
"I wasn't picky about the bridesmaid dresses. My colors were peach and mint green. I assigned you guys each a color and told you to pick a nice dress. Nothing went wrong."
Chelle: "Point taken, Rissa."
"I know I was picky about what I was going to wear, but I wasn't like that with the bridesmaids."
Chelle: "I know."
Ryse and Morgan walk out of the dressing room. Morgan is wearing a nice gold dress.
"So…" Ryse says. "Do you guys like it?"
"Love it!" Eve exclaims.
"It looks great." I comment.
Chelle: "It suits Morgan so well."
"Thanks." Morgan says. "The burgundy one looks great too though. Let me go try that one on."
Morgan and Maryse walk back into the dressing room.
Chelle: "This is so fun. I really wish I was there in person."
I nod. "At least you're here digitally."
Chelle: "Fair enough, Rissa."
"How's the baby feeling?" Eve asks.
Chelle: "She's still sick, but she's doing better now. She should be better sooner than later. Luckily, she's sleeping right now."
"That's good. Morgan is coming out again."
Morgan walks out with Ryse behind her. "I think I like this one better."
I smile as I look at Morgan. "Me too. You should go with that one."
"I agree." Eve comments.
Chelle: "That's the dress for you, Morgan."
"I think so too." Ryse comments. "I like that one."
"Let's get this one for me then." Morgan replies.
"Okay, let's get you out of that, so you don't have to be in a dress anymore." Ryse looks at me. "Hey, Rissa, I saw a burgundy dress that I think would look great on you. Give me a second to help Morgan and then I want to have you try it on."
"Okay." I reply as Ryse and Morgan go back into the dressing room. "Eve, take my phone to talk to Chelle."
Ryse zips up the back of the dress for me. "And we're good. What do you think, Rissa?"
I look at myself in the mirror. "I really like this dress. I could go with it for sure. Can I ask you a question real quick before we go out there to show the others?"
"Sure, what's up?"
"Do I seem bloated to you?"
"I didn't notice you seeming bloated. Maybe you are a little bit and noticed since it's your body, but you look normal to me. It's fine anyway, Rissa. Everyone gets bloated sometimes."
"Okay. Thanks. Let's go show the others this dress."
"Okay."
Ryse and I exit the room. The others look at me.
"You look amazing in that." Eve comments.
I smile. "Thanks."
Morgan grins. "You should definitely get that one, Rissa."
Chelle: "Yeah, Rissa. That's definitely the one for you."
I look down at the dress. "I think so too."
Chelle: "Good. Damn, I'm gonna have to go. The baby is waking up. I'll call back later."
"Okay." Ryse replies. "You're gonna be wearing gold. Let me know when we can shop for your dress."
Chelle: "If the baby is feeling better, I'm going to go to Survivor Series, so I'd be around next week. We could go look in Indianapolis."
"Sounds great! Bye. Talk to you later."
Chelle: "Bye!"
Ryse looks at Eve. "Let me help Rissa out of this, and we can go find you a dress too."
Eve nods. "Alright."
