Now we're gonna see how Luan is fairing with her damned state and how she may try to contain whatever it is within her that seeks to dominate and bring ruin, a side to her that we have all seen, known and also feared. Can she overcome the prankster within? Enjoy reading this guys.

Chapter 228: The Comedian or the Fool?

(Crotus Penn Mental Hospital, Marquette.)

Night time has fallen and the date currently is March 31, which means the next day will be April 1, and now we see Dr. Reginald Himmler, the doctor to Luan is in his office and stressed out.

He then thinks about what to do for tomorrow. 'Damn it. The next day will be the dreaded day many of us fear since Luan showed up here, and the recent nightmares have not diminished and have only worsened, I fear that her demented state for pranks will return and will make it harder for me to cure her. Can that spectral nurse even help her this time?'

'If she does return to her demented state, she might cause more harm to the patients here, and what would mean she would be sentenced to the yellow room to be restrained until she has regained her sanity, but what can we do to even prevent such….'

Then he recalls something, the idea from Luna Loud. He then looks to his phone and so he makes the call. "Hello, is this the Medical Treatment and Rehabilitation Facility from, Bay City?"

(The following day.)

The next day has come and that day is April the 1st and right now we see Luan, the former comedian and former family member to the Loud Family…. Has locked herself into her own room, she barred the doors and windows and is now placing on the finishing touches, handcuffs.

Luan then readies herself to be handcuffed to her bed and then she feels the presence of something else in the room with her. "Look, I know this looks stupid and also dumb, but this is for my own good."

That presence is the presence of the damned Nurse from the other world, the one who died many years ago and is still wielding her bone saw weapon, she tilts her head to the girl.

"Oh, don't give me that look!" yelled Luan. She then tosses the key and the Nurse catches it. "Don't uncuffs me until for sure that I am cured of the damned demented state, but if I am still like this, then remove the chair and the other stuff from the door so that the staff will handle my wretched self."

The Nurse looks to the key and then towards Luan. She sits on her bed and sighs. "Look, I know that this is messed up, but the day has come, the one I once dubbed and forever marked as Prankspocalypse and I don't wanna hurt anyone, and this is for the better and to make sure that I don't cause any mental harm or scarring issues."

"The best way to keep the demon inside of me, is to keep myself locked up and restrained, I still recall that crazy side of me that spoke those words towards Lincoln and the others, I was lost in the head and demented within my soul, I was a demon with no cause and no hope to ever wanting to be freed from my own insanity."

The Nurse is kinda impressed by her words and nods, she then phases into the ethereal realm, leaving Luan alone to ponder about what might happen.

'Alright Luan, take it easy. This is for the better and to make sure no one gets hurt from the crazy prankster side of me, but I do fear that the demon within will try to bust out and begin to harm the folks around me, or try to make a run for it and go after the rest of the family.'

'I just need to keep that thing at bay and then everything will be alright, but if not, then I am sorry for what my dark side if gonna do, and I will just be a witness, locked in my head and crying for forgiveness and to spare the lives of those I once called family, and yet they are still my family.'

She then looks to the stuff she prepared next to her: Some books, a bucket for bathroom breaks and some water and snacks, seeing this makes her smile and chuckle. "Wow. Taking lessons from Lincoln and his prepared tactics, at least I didn't setup a tinkle tube."

(Moments later.)

Hours have passed, and Luan has been keeping herself occupied by reading the books that she placed next to her and now, she's fast asleep and the Nurse sees this and knows that this is going to be bad, so she phases out of the room to look for someone.

She's right though, something is going on with Luan from within her thoughts, let's take a look.

(Inside of Luan's Head.)

Luan is wandering through the darkness, all she sees is darkness around her and she feels something is there and this makes her angry. "I know you're here. You've been visiting me and been a total annoyance for every god damn Thursday, so show yourself!"

And then it does, a shadowy form of Luan as a little girl, the side of her that woke up the pranking demon. The shadow Luan speaks in a Grimm voice that still sounds like her younger self. "Hello, good to see ya again, Luan. You feeling alright, or are you a bit lost in thought?"

The shadow Luan chuckles and laughs, but Luan is not pleased by this.

"No, you are not going to taunt me into going back to the deranged prankster that I once was!"

Shadow Luan grins wickedly. "Oh, you poor naïve and stupid fool. That side of you has been around since the day you were born, and the day you found that talent for comedy and thus I came to be and now you will finish what you always have to do, the real reason for your existence, to prank everyone!"

Luan then tries to grab her, but she disappears and is right behind her. "No! That side of me is no more, and you are the only thing left to linger and I am not gonna let you ruin my future or my family!"

Luan tries to catch her again, but the shadow Luan disappears and reappears behind her and snickers. "Don't you mean, the former family? They aren't your family anymore and sure to hell we don't care about them either, what matters is that they suffer and we're gonna make that happen and laugh as we do so!"

She then shoves Luan to the ground and stands over her. "You are nothing without me, and I am nothing without you. The truth to the creation of us has always been the birth of who you are, with the talent within and the future and dreams you seek and that future is to make people laugh, but deep down it's to make you feel entertained and through the most heinous of pranks that we have both managed to conjure, together!"

She then grabs Luan by her shirt. "So, why fight back? Come back, embrace it, forget about those dumb doctors and that stupid psychiatrist who'll never get a lover, embrace the truth of your soul and let's go and mess up some lives and scar the rest of the world, for as long as we both live!"

Luan growls. "No, I won't!" She punches her shadowed self and then tackles her and the two begin to fight over dominance of the mind of Luan. "You are not gonna hurt anyone and I am going to end you, once and for all!"

Shadow Luan then grabs her fist and kicks her off. "Really? Get rid of me? You don't know do ya? To get rid of me, you'd have to end your life, or surrender the dream of making people laugh, and deep down, you wouldn't wanna give that up!"

Luan tries to attack her, but her shadowed form is stronger and pushes her aside. "Face it, Luan, the prankster within you is your past, present…." She then then takes the form of an older Luan. "And you're Future!"

Luan tries to get up, but the shadowed Luan grabs her hair and then punches her in the gut, and it actually hurt her. "You are…. Not gonna…" Then she's punched again and throw to a wall, where the chains begin to wrap around her. "No!"

Shadow Luan laughs at this. "As you see, I am not just the prankster side of you, but also the strong side of you. You're weak Luan, you always have been and all it took to get stronger and have a thick skin, was to prank and relish the dream of comedy and to me that dream stinks."

"The real dream is to bring misery and laugh at the pain of those who dare to say that I am not insane or going too far! Nothing is too far, I decide the fate of others and I will start with that precious Family of Two, perhaps Lincoln will love losing his hair, or Luna getting her own amps stuck in her head!"

"No! Leave them alone!" Luan struggles, but she can't break free, her shadowed form has now taken over. "No… Please, stop. No!"

Shadow Luan just laughs and laughs, Luan feels as if that holding her off, has failed and now she will be a witness as her dark self takes over and brings ruin to everyone. "I'm…. I'm so sorry, I'm sorry everyone."

Then, a new voice comes in. "Don't give up."

The two Luan's look around. "Don't give up, you can fight it, I know you can…. Luan, you're strong without it."

Shadow Luan looks around. "Who said that?! Whose here?! Who are you?!"

"Don't let that dark side of you take over, this is your life and you're mind. You can fight her, Luan."

Luan then recognizes that voice. "Leni?"

Shadow Luan then goes around and listens. "Where is she coming from?! How is she here?!"

Luan then feels her strength coming back and she busts out of the chains. Shadow Luan sees this and is shocked. "No!"

Luan then begins to float and she can hear the voice of her once former big sister. "Luan, I know you can fight this as you have always fended off the many kinds of threats and dangers that we once had within the family. As the big sister you always once, and always will be."

"The dream of the comedian is not the path that made you strong, but the will and support, as well as the love of the family that was the sole reason to your strength. It always has been and always will. This pranks side, is a flaw and we can always overcome those flaws."

Shadow Luan is now angered by those words. "No! I am not the flaw, she is! Now get the hell out of my head!"

"No!" Luan's eyes are now glowing and she looks down to her shadowed form. "This is my head, my mind, my life and my body! You are my flaw, and I may not be able to beat you or get rid of you, but I can lock you up and never, ever let you out ever again!"

"No, you won't!" Shadow Luan jumps to attack her, but Luan smirks and a bright light is engulfing her body and is blinding the shadow Luan.

"No! Blinding lights! Just like the song, now I can't see clearly with the light here! Hey, that was kinda funny." The light fades and her shadowed self is gone.

(Reality.)

Luan slowly opens her eyes. "Ouch, oh my head." She touches her head and feels this pain. "What the heck happened?"

"Good to see you again, Luan." the girl then sees a 17-year old girl right there sitting on her bed, a teenager with blonde hair and a smile that would brighten anyone's day.

"L-Leni?"

Leni smiles. "Hello, Luan."

Without a second thought, Luan goes over and hugs her former sister with tears in her eyes. Leni returns the embrace and sheds some tears too. "It's alright now, Luan. I'm here now, everything's gonna be alright now."

Luan just hugs her, but then she departs from the hug and looks towards her. "Leni, what the heck are you doing here? I thought that you would be…"

"I made my choice, and as they told me, that I am cleared from my assistance from the Mental Hospital and I am gonna miss the place, sure. But, when I got the call, I knew that it was the call that told me that the time to help another has come and you are that another" replied Leni.

"I made a plan many months ago, ever since they told me about what you have been going through and now that plan has come towards me at last, my head has been fixed and I am on the right path, now it's my turn to help you get onto that path and fix what needs repairing."

"So, until the day comes for me to move on and find a better life, I'm gonna make you my number one priority, so that we can both leave this place, together."

Luan sheds some tears once more and she hugs Leni. The blonde returns the hug and does what she can to comfort her former little sister. 'My path to redemption will not be ready, not until I help Luan.'

At the door, Dr. Reginald Himmler smiles. 'It appears that Luna Louds plan might work, my duty in helping her is done, time for another to help Luan with her dark side, but I shall continue in keeping an eye on both of them.'

He then sees the Nurse float away from the door and look through the window. "Wait." The spirit then turns around and looks to the man. "Thank you, thank you for calling us to her side and thank you for… For everything, for the many times you have helped, Luan."

The Nurse nods and she goes through the window and disappears from existence, she has returned to her world, in the Realm of the Entity.

Now, Luan's path to redemption and her future is molding into something else, and with Leni involved to make sure she doesn't stray or lose herself.

A/N: This whole chapter, will lead to some events that will spark the future of Leni and Luan, but now soon is the birthday of Luan and the visit of those who wanna know how things are going. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
