Anonymous asked: Okay so I've finally read all the chapter of "TROTKOS" and I've noticed in some of them Caroline always calls Klaus "babe" and I always smile a lot. Do you think you can write one with he hates when she calls him babe. But it does matter cause she's and adorable little Bean with her designer skirts and Girly headbands. All human if you will. Thank you

Knowing she'd just spent what had to be a trying afternoon with his sister, Klaus was worried about Caroline. To be honest, he had been worried about bringing her home to London, but at least she seemed excited about meeting his family. Whatever happened with Rebekah, however, left her downcast and uncharacteristically quiet. "Sweetheart, are you alright?"

Apparently lost in her thoughts, Caroline looked at him with surprise. "Oh, yeah, b- Yes, I'm fine."

He set aside his sketchbook and turned off the TV she hadn't been watching. "I find that a bit hard to believe," he said, his concern growing as she diverted her eyes. "If Bekah said anything to upset you-"

But she shook her head in immediate denial. "She was nice enough, aside from remarks on my style choices."

"I happen to like your style." To prove it, his hand toyed with the short hem of her skirt, and he grinned at the fond roll of her eyes. "Still, you were smiling when you left, and now you're not. You won't even look at me."

Her cheeks flushed, though she did reluctantly meet his gaze. Rather than fear or anger, all he saw was a faint guilt. When she finally spoke, her voice was soft. "Do you hate that I call you 'babe' sometimes?" Blinking, Klaus leaned onto the couch as he turned to face her fully. She was already explaining before he could muster an answer. "Because Rebekah mentioned that pet names have always been a sore spot with your exes, which seemed nuts to me when you call me 'love' and 'sweetheart' all the time. But the more I thought about it, I realized you could just be going with it, and-"

He reached for her hands, squeezing gently in hopes of distracting her from the negative spiral she'd found herself in. "Love," he said pointedly, his smile warm with how much he meant it. "While it's true I have rarely enjoyed such…familiarity in my past relationships - one of which with a friend of Bekah's, who hasn't quite forgiven me for ending that particular dalliance - I love you. All of you. My younger self might have disdained the use of pet names, but I like when you're the one saying them."

Biting her lip, Caroline seemed to be fighting a watery smile. "Yeah?"

"Yeah," he sighed, pulling her into his lap. "I should probably answer to anything you want to call me after leaving you to fend off Bekah."

She laughed as she leaned into him. "As a former mean girl myself, I promise I can handle her." Kissing his neck, he felt her grin against his throat. "Babe."

Laughing himself, Klaus tossed her back against the couch and landed on top of her, tickling her viciously. Yeah, she could call him whatever she wanted if it meant more afternoons like this.
