Episode 369: A Crasher Course in Power!
Several days have passed since meeting Guzma and winning, they were still heading to Pastoria City. They were going through the Pastoria Marsh. Along the way, they met someone who knows Raymond very well.
"Hey, Bobby! How's it going?" Raymond asked.
"You me, Ray-Ray! Getting through this marsh," Bobby said. He looked right at the group. "Friends of yours?"
"Yeah. Bobby, this is Sora and his girlfriend Kairi and his cousin Ventus. We call him Ven. And these are Terra and Aqua. And these are the Digimon, Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon, Patamon, Gatomon, Veemon, Wormmon, Hawkmon,and Armadillomon. Guys, this is Bobby," Raymond introduced.
"Nice to meet you all. So, what's new with you, Ray-Ray?" Bobby asked. Raymond smiled as he took out two of his Pokéballs and let out Pignite and Frogadier.
"Does this answer your question?" Raymond asked.
"Your Froakie and Tepig evolved!" Bobby said. "Way to go!"
"I kinda lent a hand in both evolutions," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Anyway, how do you know each other?" Sora asked.
"Ray-Ray and I first met when he was at Accumula Townwhen he was searching for some Unova Pokémon to catch. I was just starting out myself," Bobby said, taking out his Pokéballs. "And I improved since then, so I'll show you my whole team." He tosses them up. "Okay, everyone! Come on out!" His Pokémon came on out of the Pokéballs. One of his Pokémon is a Golett. One of them is to be a small, green monkey-like Pokémon with a yellowish-khaki chin, arms, and chest. It has green legs and tail, which has a pair of small leaves on its tip. The insides of its ears are light green and it has a tree-like appendage atop its head. This "tree" has 3 teardrop-shaped yellowish-khaki marks on it. Another one is red monkey-like Pokémon. It has what looks like some fire on top of its head. In its ears are little marks of yellow and its lower face, hands and upper torso are a tan color. It has red feet and a red pointy tail, and its lower body and feet are red. Another is bipedal monkey-like Pokémon. It is mainly cyan blue in color. Its belly, face, arms and lower body are cream colored. It appears to have its eyes closed. On the top of its head is a blue tuft that holds nutrient-rich water. It has large light and dark blue ears. Its hands, feet, lower torso and legs are a tan color. It has a club shaped tail that's blue, but the rest of the tail is tan. One Pokémon appears to be a small, gray, plump pigeon-like Pokémon with elliptical yellow eyes. It has two wide black stripes on both of its wings. It has a light gray belly and breast, the lighter patch shaped like a heart. It has a tuft of three feathers atop its head. Another largely resembles a crocodile. It has what appears to be a black stripe near its eyes in the appearance of a mask, and is mainly a light brownish tan with black striped through its body. On its belly it can be noted that a pink replaces the tan shade, though the stripes continue regularly and later on it'll be used for its evolved form known as Krokorok. It has four legs, a short tail, and three claws to each foot. Its eyes don't seem to have any sort of coloring besides black, and it has large nostrils. No teeth show when its mouth is closed.
"That's quite a team," Sora said, taking out his Pokédex and scanned each one of them.
Pansage, the Grass Monkey Pokémon
Type: Grass
This Pokémon dwells deep in the forest. It shares the leaf on its head with weary-looking Pokémon. These leaves are known to relieve stress like it was magic.
Panser, the High Temp Pokémon
Type: Fire
This Pokémon lives in caves in volcanoes. The fire within the tuft on its head can reach 600 degrees Fahrenheit when it is angered. It also roasts berries.
Panpour, the Spray Pokémon
Type: Water
The water stored inside the tuft on its head is full of nutrients. Plants that receive its water grow large. It does not thrive in dry environments. It keeps itself damp by shooting water stored in its head tuft from its tail.
Pidove, the Tiny Pigeon Pokémon
Type: Normal/Flying
These Pokémon live in cities. They are accustomed to people. Flocks often gather in parks and plazas. Each follows its trainer's orders as best it can, but they sometimes fail to understand complicated commands.
Sandile, the Desert Croc Pokémon
Type: Ground/Dark
Sandile is small, but its legs and lower body are powerful. Pushing sand aside as it goes, Sandile moves through the desert as if it's swimming. The desert gets cold at night, so when the sun sets, this Pokémon burrows deep into the sand and sleeps until sunrise.
Golett, the Automation Pokémon
Type: Ground/Ghost
They were sculpted from clay in ancient times. No one knows why, but some of them are driven to continually line up boulders. This Pokémon was created from clay. It received orders from its master many thousands of years ago, and it still follows those orders to this day.
"Can't find any of these in the Sinnoh region," Terra said.
"No, you can't," Meowth said. Bobby got all excited when he heard Meowth talking.
"A talking Meowth! So cool! I want a talking Meowth!" Bobby said happily.
"Can't have him. He's with us," Sora said.
"Too bad. But still, it would have been nice to have one," Bobby said. "Anyway, Ray-Ray, I was wondering if you would battle me. I want to see how your newly evolved Pokémon handles in battling," Bobby said.
"Sure thing, Bobby. I can take you up on that," Raymond said. Bobby calls back his Pokémon except for Pidove. "Let's make this a three-on-three battle."
"I was gonna suggest that anyway. And the first one I pick is Pidove," Bobby said.
"I'm going with my Oshawott!" Raymond said, letting Oshawott out.
"Pidove! Air Cutter!" Bobby ordered.
"Oshawott! Block with Razor Shell!" Raymond ordered. Oshawott uses his scalchop to block Air Cutter. Oshawott darts at the tiny pigeon Pokémon with Razor Shell.
"Quick Attack!" Bobby ordered. Pidove avoids Oshawott's Razor Shell and darts at the sea otter Pokémon. "Fly!" Pidove flew up into the air to avoid Razor Shell. "Now, use Aerial Ace!" Pidove comes at the sea otter Pokémon with great speed and lands a hit.
"Oshawott! Sacred Sword!" Raymond ordered. Oshawott's scalchop glows light blue and forms a large sword. The sword then grows bigger. Oshawott then slices Pidove with it. Pidove started to fall to the marsh, but regains its balance and started to evolve. Oshaowtt aso started to evolve.
"They're both evolving!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
Oshawott has now evolved into a bipedal otter-like Pokémon. It is mainly light cyan blue in color, with a navy blue apron-like fringe of fur around its thighs that bears two scalchops, which can be removed an used as swords when it battles. It has a black platypus-like tail and small black ears. Its feet and paws are black, with three digits on each. It has a tuft of blue fur sprouting from the back of its head. It has ovular black eyes, four white whiskers, and a round pink nose. Pidove evolved right into an avaian Pokémon that is gray with lighter gray and black markings. Its beak and eyes are yellow, and there is a dark pink marking above its beak that curves back over the eyes. It has a black tuft of two feathers on its head and a petal-like arrangement of feathers on the nape of its neck. There is a black stripe on each of its light gray, black-tipped wings. Each pink foot has black talons. It possesses a long tail feather that is tipped in black. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned them both.
Dewott, the Discipline Pokémon
The evolved form of Oshaowtt
Type: Water
Strict training is how it learns its flowing double-scalchop technique. Scalchop techniques differ from one Dewott to another. It never neglects maintaining its scalchops.
Tranquill, the Wild Pigeon Pokémon
The evolved form of Pidove
Type: Normal/Flying
It can fly moderately quickly. No matter how far it travels, it can always find its way back to its master and its nest. These bright Pokémon have acute memories. Apparently delivery workers often choose them as their partners.
"Dewott! Razor Shell!" Raymond!" Raymond ordered. Dewott came at Trnquill with Razor Shell.
"Air Cutter!" Bobby ordered. Tranquill fired Air Cutter right at Dewott. Dewoot blocks with his scalchops and lands a hit onto Tranquill. THe wild pigeon Pokémon crashes into the marsh. Bobby saw how his Tranquill is unable to batle and calls it back. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go right in Panpour!" Panpour came right out Raymond calls back Dewott and took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Frogadier!" Raymond called out as Frogadier came right out. "Frogadier! Use Water Pulse!" Frogadier forms Water Pulse and hurls it right at Panpour. The spray Pokémon and became confused.
"Panpour! Scald!" Bobby ordered. Panpour fires hot water right at the bubble frog Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Aerial Ace!" Raymond ordered and darted right at Panpour. It knocked off the confusion.
"Panpour! Use Aqua Tail!" Bobby ordered. Panpour comes at Frogadeir with Aqua Tail.
"Bounce!" Raymond ordered. Frogadier jumped and avoided Aqua Tail and down at Panpour and lands a hit. Bobby was surprised by how much stronger since he was Froakie calls his Panpour back.
"Well, I gotta hand it to you, Ray-Ray, you're a whole lot stronger since we met," Bobby said. "So, how about one more?"
"Yeah," Raymond calls back Frogadier and took out a Pokéball as Bobby cals back Panpour. "Let's make it a fire battle?"
"Sure thing, Ray-Ray," Bobby said, taking a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Pansear!" Pansear came on out as the two Fire Types stared at each other. "Use Flamethrower!"
"You use Flamethrower too!" Raymond ordered. Both Pokémon fired at Flamethrower at each other and they held on. An explosion occurs between the two of them. "Arm Thrust!" Pignite came at Pansear came at Pansear with with her arms out. Pignite lands her hit onto the fire monkey Pokémon and it was three times. "Flame Charge!"
"Pansear! Fire Punch!" Bobby ordered. Pansear came at Pignite with Fire Punch. The two of them collided with each other and an explosion occurs. It resulted in a double knockout. "Pansear!" Bobby went up to Pansear and helps it up. "You okay?"
"Pansear," Pansear replied weakly.
"You should get some rest. You'll need the strength," Bobby said, calling Pansear back. Raymond calls Pignite back and he smiled.
"You're just as strong as ever, Bobby," Raymond said.
"Back at you-Ray-Ray. Anyway, if you're heading for Pastoria City, I'll be wishing you lucj in your Gym battle," Bobby said.
"You too, Bobby," Raymond said.
Sora walked up to the two friends.
"You both raised your Pokémon right. You should be proud of them both," Sora said.
"Thanks, Sora. That means a lot coming from you," Bobby said.
"It sure does. And you should have seen how he battles, because he's amazing," Raymond said.
"Really? I would like to see that too!" Bobby said. With that said, they heard a screeching sound. "Anyone hear that?"
"Where did it come from?" Veemon asked. Biyomon, Tentomon, Patamon, and Hawkmon flew up above and they spotted something in the marsh. The flying Digimon came down to the group.
"There's something stuck in the marsh!" Tentomon said.
"Where is it?" Sora asked.
"This way!" Patamon said. The flying Digimon led them through the marsh and it was a Vicreebel. It was pear colored and has blue leaves. The Victreebel also has
grayish brown leaves.
"It's a Victreebel!" Sora said. He went over to the Victreebel and started to pull the fly catcher Pokémon out with all his might. Agumon, Gabumon, Veemon, and Terra helped pull it out. "Don't worry, Victreebel. We got you. We'll get you to a Pokémon Center to heal up." With that said, the group were carrying Victreebel to the Pokémon Center. They made it to Pastoria City and they bumped into a strong-built middle-aged man, who has a patch of black hair and beard. He doesn't wear a shirt, but he wears orange/blue bracers and boots. His blue pants with orange outlines have black appendages on his legs, which resemble Swampert's appearance. He also wears a blue mask with white wings-like appendages. He saw the group coming right towards the city with the injured Victreebel.
"Excuse us. Do you know where we can find the Pokémon Center?" Sora asked.
"I'll show you the way," the man said, lifting Victreebel up with his strength. "Come with me." The group went to the Pokémon Center and they told Nurse Joy about the situation of the fly catcher Pokémon.
"Can you help him, Nurse Joy?" Kairi asked.
"Don't you worry. We'll take very good care of Victreebel. And it was a good thing you all got here just in time and with Crasher's help," Nurse Joy said. The group were stunned to hear that the Gym Leader Crasher Wake has helped lift Victreebel over to the Pokémon Center.
"You're Crasher Wake?" Sora asked.
"That I am. Are you here for a Gym battle?" Crasher asked.
"He and I are. I'm Sora from Pallet Town," Sora said.
"A pleasure, Sora. And you would be?" Crasher asked Raymond.
"I'm Raymond from Vaniville Town in the Kalos region. And I came here to challenge you into a Gym battle too. So, I would like to have mine after you have one with him," Raymond said.
"I would like to accept your challenge, but I'm afraid something is up," Crasher said.
"What kind of something?" Ventus asked.
"The Gym Leader is talking about a sea monster sighting," a woman said. The group looked right at her.
"A sea monster?" Ventus asked.
"Yes. It showed up just weeks ago. A sea monster attacked any ship coming to Pastoria City. It's so terrifying. There were some people who said that they saw it and they were in shock when they did see it," the woman said.
"I've been working with Officer Jenny about the sea monster, seeing what I can do to get rid of it," Crasher said.
"How do you know it's a sea monster?" Gomamon asked.
"I'm not even certain, but I do know that it's been seen at the port. A lot of people are scared just like she is. So, it's only a matter of time before it strikes again, so we're gathering to catch it. Now, if you excuse me, I'm needed," Crasher said. The group were at a tizzy.
"A sea monster. That's just magical," Raymond said.
"What if it's not a sea monster? What if it's another Digimon in the port?" Ventus asked. They all looked at Ventus.
"You might be right, Ven. It's very likely that a Digimon is behind this," Gatomon said. "This Digimon could either be working for Myotismon or AxeKnightmon."
"I don't like that possibility," Meowth said.
"Myotismon? AxeKnightmon? What are you talking about?" Bobby asked.
"They're those evil Digimon we mentioned before. AxeKnightmon we met when we were rescuing my Riolu from the guy who hired Hunter J," Sora explained.
"And that guy is brutal," Veemon said.
"He's even worse than J," Meowth said.
"It's bad enough that there are Digimon that wanna rule the world, but a Digimon breaking out a wanted Pokémon Hunter is just as bad," Raymond said.
"If it's an evil Digimon, then we'll have to get rid of him," Gabumon said.
"He's right because we can't allow any evil Digimon to do whatever they want," Wormmon said.
A plan was setting into motion. Sora and Kairi took out their Pokémon Boxes and exchanged Grotle, Snover, Bronzor, Monferno, Urshifu, Sandshrew, Vulpix, Happiny, Glaceon, and Hattrem for Prinplup, Buizel, the Shiny Tentacruel, Drizzile, Huntail, Mantine, Qwilfish, Gorebyss, Vaporeon, and Finneon.
Over to the port, we have a look underwater as a large sea demon-like Digimon is seen. It has the appearence of Devimon, but has four arms, which are tentacles with claws. It has has a fishbone on the right shoulder and a white tail that looks like a tentacle. The Digimon laughs evilly as he awaits for his next victim.
Over to Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers, the two of them have made it to Pastoria City after missing them in Lake Valor.
"We were so close! We could have had them! We could have!" Vorvomon said.
"At least Etemon and AxeKnightmon failed to get them," the first Dracomon said.
"Yes, but we wouldn't stood a chance against them anyway. Especially with VictoryGreymon and those other three interfering!" Vorvomon said.
"I'm sure we'll Digivolve into Ultimate when we fight them!" The second Dracomon said.
"We'll have to find them first!" Vorvomon said. "Come on!" Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers flew to search for them.
Over to the port, Crasher Wake has arrived at the scene as Sora, Kairi, Raymond, Bobby, and the Digimon all arrived to help. Ventus, Terra, Aqua, and Meowth were staying behind to check on Victreebel and they didn't want to risk Ventus's safety.
"Crasher!" Sora called out. He turned to see the couple and the other two trainers.
"Well, hello again. I was very clear about waiting," Crasher said.
"We didn't come here for that. We came here to help you out," Sora said.
"We think there's more to it than you know," Kairi said.
"So, we came to help out," Raymond said.
"Then, you're welcome to help out. What Pokémon do you all have?" Crasher asked.
"I have a Tentacruel, a Drizzile, a Prinplup, a Huntail, and a Buizel," Sora said.
"I have a Vaporeon, a Mantine, a Qwilfish, a Gorebyss, and a Finneon," Kairi said.
"I have a Frogadier and a Dewott," Raymond said.
"I have a Panpour," Bobby said.
"Good to know because we have some volunteers coming around to help out," Crasher said.
And he wasn't kidding. There were loads of trainers. They all had some Water Type Pokémon helping out. A Blastoise, a Feraligatr, a Swampert, an Empoleon, Primarina, an Inteleon, a Primarina, a dozen Poliwrath, a couple of Seaking, a bunch of Gyarados, a Bruxish, a few Golduck, a bunch of Kingdra, a dozen Sharpedo, a few Mantine, a Lapras, a few Wailmer, a Relicanth, a few Walrein, a dozen Huntail, a dozen Gorebyss, a few Barraskewda, and some fish-like Pokémon. Some of them has a red stripe and spkiy white fins. And the other has a blue stripe and a sleeker white fins. They all arrived at the scene.
"Crasher, we're glad you came. We were waiting for you to arrive," Officer Jenny said.
"If there is something lurking around in our waters, then we'll give it such a heave-ho!" Crasher said.
"And that's why we're here," Sora said, taking out his Pokéballs and threw them. "Prinplup, Drizzile, Buizel, Tentacruel, Huntail! Go!" Sora's Pokémon all came on out. Tentacruel came out with a swirl of stars.
"Mantine, Qwilfish, Vaporeon, Finneon, Gorebyss! Go!" Kairi called out as her Pokémon all joined in. Raymond and Bobby did the same thing.
"Frogadier, Dewott! Go!" Raymond called out as his Pokémon came out
"Go! Panpour!" Bobby called out as Panpour joined in.
The Water Type Pokémon all join in to drive the so-called sea monster from the waters. Gomamon joined in as well. He knew he had to see the creature for himself. Sora saw the fish Pokémon and he took out his Pokédex to get information on them.
"What kind of Pokémon are those?" Sora asked, using his Pokédex. The image on his Pokédex displays them both.
Basculin, the Hostile Pokémon
Type: Water
Red and blue Basculin get along so poorly, they'll start fighting instantly. These Pokémon are very hostile. Sometimes, they mingle with other schools.
"Looks like they're putting their differences aside for a common cause," Sora said. He puts his Pokédex away as Crasher took out his three Pokéballs and threw them.
"All right! Gyarados, Quagsire, Floatzel! On the water!" Crasher Wake called out. His Gyarados, Quagsire, and Floatzel came out right at the same time as they got set to deal with whatever it was. Gomamon started to Digivolve.
"Gomamon Digivolve to... Ikkakumon!" The Water Type Pokémon dove down along with Ikkakumon to find it. As they dove down, they all looked around for the creature. Ikkakumon swam with Sora and Kairi's Water Type Pokémon along with Frogadier, Dewott, Panpour, and with Crasher's Pokémon.
Over to some of the other Pokémon, they found the evil Digimon and they attempt to attack. The evil Digimon sends one of his claws at them.
"Evil Wing!" The Digimon shouted as he swiped at them. The Pokémon all launched their attacks at them, but he wasn't even phased. Ikkakumon along with the Pokémon belonging to Sora, Kairi, Crasher, Raymond, and Bobby swam to see the brawl going on.
"MarineDevimon!" Ikkakumon gasped. "Harpoon Torpedo!" He fired his attack at MarineDevimon. It struck him, but it wasn't enough to bring him down.
"My turn," MarineDevimon said. "Dark Deluge!" MarineDevimon fires ink at Ikkakumon and the attacking Pokémon. Some of them were lucky, but some of them weren't so lucky since they got hit by the ink. Buizel darted towards MarineDevimon, but he was too big and strong for the sea weasel Pokémon to finish off. He fires Sonic Boom at MarineDevimon, but he was unohased. "Get out of my sight, filthy rodent!" MarineDevimon attempts to crush him, but Floatzel came to his aide with Ice Fang and saved Buizel. He looked at his evolved form and he felt his pride get hurt by the rescue.
Back on the port, they could tell that the fight was going on by how violent the water is getting. Just then, MarineDevimon emerged from the water as the Pokémon had emerged and launched their assault on him.
"What is that?" Crasher asked.
"That would be our sea monster," Sora said. He took out his Digidex and analyzed him. "Oh man. MarineDevimon. He's a sea beast Digimon. And he's an Ultimate level. He paralyzes his victims with Dark Deluge."
"We better go and assist!" Hawkmon said.
"Yeah, he'll have to put up his dukes! All four of them!" Tentomon said. With that said, Biyomon, Tentomon, Hawkmon, Wormmon, Patamon, and Gatomon started to Digivolve.
"Biyomon Digivolve to... Birdramon!"
"Tentomon Digivolve to... Kabuterimon!"
"Hawkmon Digivolve to... Aquilamon!"
"Wormmon Digivolve to... Stingmon!"
"Patamon Digivolve to... Angemon!"
"Gatomon Digivolve to... Angewomon!"
The flying Digimon went right towards MarineDevimon.
Bidramon, "Meteor Wing!"
Kabuterimon, "Electro Shocker!"
Aquilamon, "Blast Rings!"
Angemon, "Hand of Fate!"
Stingmon, "Moon Shooter!"
Angewomon, "Celestial Arrow!"
The Digimon launched their attacks at the evil Digimon and they didn't even phase him.
"We gotta join in!" Agumon said. The other Digimon went in to battle him. "Agumon Digivolve to... Greymon!"
"Gabumon Digivolve to... Garurumon!"
"Veemon Digivolve to... Veedramon!"
"Palmon Digivolve to... Togemon!"
"Armadillomon Digivolve to... Ankylomon!"
The Digimon went to fight MarineDevimon, but he wasn't going to go down that easily.
"Dark Deluge!" MarineDevimon shouted as he fires his ink at the Digimon. When they all got hit, they were all paralyzed and they revert back to their Rookie forms. They land in the water. They all struggled to stay above the water, but the Pokémon came to their aide and helped them. Birdramon, Aquilamon, Kabuterimon, Angemon, and Stingmon all came at MarineDevimon. "Dark Deluge!" He fired at them and they all revert back to their Rookie forms. The Pokémon all saved them from falling.
"He's too strong," Sora said.
"Only Angewomon and Ikkakumon are left," Kairi said.
"Harpoon Torpedo!" Ikkakumon shouted as he fired his attack on him. He turned to him.
"You think you stand a chance against me?" MarineDevimon asked.
"Prinplup! Hydro Pump! Drizzile! Huntail! Water Pulse! Tentacruel! Brine! Buizel Sonic Boom!" Sora ordered.
"Mantine! Bubble Beam! Qwilfish! Sludge Bomb! Gorebyss! Water Pulse! Vaporeon! Hydro Pump! Finneon! Silver Wind!" Kairi ordered.
"Dewott! Razor Shell! Frogadier! Water Pulse!" Raymond ordered.
"Panpour! Scald!" Bobby ordered.
"Gyarados! Dragon Rage! Quagsire! Ice Beam! Floatzel! Razor Wind!" Crasher ordered.
All of the Pokémon launched their attacks on MarineDevimon. He growled in anger.
"I'll destroy you all!" MarineDevimon said.
"Not if I have anything to say!" Ikkakumon said as he started to Digivolve. "Ikkakumon Digivolve to... Zudomon!" He came at MarineDevimon with his Hammer ready to strike. "Vulcan's Hammer!" He swings his hammer as it emits sparks. He strikes at MarineDevimon hard. "Angewomon, now! Finish him!"
"Right. Heaven's Charm!" Angewomon shouted as she holds her arms in front and unleashes a pink cross made of light and struck MarineDevimon. It weakened him, but it wasn't enough to defeat him, but she was going to fix that. "Celestial Arrow!" She fires the arrow and it struck MarineDevimon in his chest and he screams in pain as he dissolves into bits of data. "Now to heal you all!" She raises her arms in the air. "Saint Air!" She unleashes sprinkling light and it heals all of the Pokémon and Digimon. Zudomon and Angewomon revert back to Gomamon and Gatomon as they made it back to the others.
"You guys did great," Sora said.
"And you saved the city. I'll see to it that the mayor is informed by your heroics!" Officer Jenny said.
"Thanks," the Digimon said.
"Gotta hand it to you, your Pokémon are mighty impressive," Crasher said.
"Thanks," Kairi said. Buizel and Floatzel stared right at each other. "Sora, I think Buizel wants to challenge Floatzel into a battle." Sora looked at the two sea weasel Pokémon and saw the sparks fly between the two of them.
"Oh boy," Sora said.
"I must say, Sora, your Buizel looks very impressive. The same can be said about your other ones. You look like you raised them well," Crasher said.
"Thanks," Sora said.
"If you're still interested in our battle, just know I'll be waiting for you at my Gym," Crasher said. "Also, I want you to know I will not be going easy on you just because you helped save the city," Crasher said.
"I don't want you to. I'm planning on hitting you hard," Sora said. Crasher chuckled.
"That's what I wanted to hear! I'll meet you there!" Crasher said as he and his Pokémon went to prepare for the battle with Sora. Sora looked at his Buizel and knew he wanted to battle against Floatzel. So he decided to go with Buizel in this one. He exchanged Tentacruel and Huntail for Grotle and Porygon. Kairi exchanged her Water Types for Glameow, Jolteon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Bibarel. They all went back to the Pokémon Center to check on Victreebel.
"Nurse Joy, how's Victreebel doing?" Sora asked.
"Victreebel is doing just fine. He just needs to spend the night here to recover fully. Victreebel was injured pretty badly. You did the right thing by bringing him here," Nurse Joy said.
"That's good to know," Sora said.
"So, what about the sea monster? Was it a Digimon?" Ventus asked.
"Yeah. You were right, Ven, it was a Digimon. That Digimon appeared out from the water and attacked," Raymond said.
"And I tell you, that was one scary Digimon," Raymond said.
"It sure was," Bobby agreed.
"Anyway, how about we head for the Gym and get set for the battle. Crasher is probably waiting for us right now," Sora said.
"Yeah, I am so anxious to see you in action!" Raymond said.
"Me too!" Bobby said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Raymond, Bobby, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon all accompanied Sora for his Gym battle. Upon arrving at the Pastoria City Gym, they were greeted by Crasher Wake himself.
"Welcome, Sora. I have been waiting for you. I hope you're ready for what's coming," Crasher said.
"I'm ready for anything you can dish out, Crasher," Sora said.
"I like your attitude. Now, we shall head for the battlefield," which happens to be a swimming pool.
"Wow, it's a swimming pool inside just like the Walalce Cup," Gomamon said.
"It's so nice," Armadillomon said.
"Glad that you like it. Now, Sora, if you're ready, we can get started," Crasher said.
"Any time," Sora said. He and Crasher took their positions on the water battlefield. The referee comes in to make the battle official.
"The battle between Sora from Pallet Town and Crasher Wake is about to begin! Both trainers will be using three Pokémon each! The battle will be over when either of the challenger's or the Gym Leader's Pokémon are unable to continue battling! In addition, only the challenger is allowed to switch Pokémon! Now, choose your Pokémon and begin!" Crasher chooses first as he threw his Pokéball.
"Gyarados! On the water!" Crasher shouted as Gyarados roars upon entry. Sora knew Pikachu would be the best choice since Gyarados is a Water Type and a Flying Type.
"Pikachu, you go first!" Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said as he entered. Angel gave a big cheer for Pikachu to win it.
"Pikachu, huh? You made a wise choice, Sora. Give it all you got!" Crasher called out.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fires Thunderbolt at the atrocious Pokémon. Gyarados got hit by Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Gyarados shook Thunderbolt right off. "Thunderbolt didn't do a thing!"
"But how? Gyarados is weak against Electric Type attacks, right?" Agumon asked.
"That's true. But I think Gyarados has a very high stamina to tolerate Pikachu's Thunderbolt," Terra said.
"Your strategy to take on my Water Type Pokémon with an Electric Type attack is correct! Of course, my Gyarados isn't going to take that lying down! Let's go!" Crasher called out as Gyarados dove in the water. The atrocious Pokémon swam underwater. Pikachu looked around, knowing Gyarados was going to come out at any time. Gyarados came right out from the water.
"Now, use Dragon Rage!" Crasher ordered. Gyrados fires Dragon Rage right at the mouse Pokémon.
"Break it with Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu breaks Gyarados's Dragon Rage with Iron Tail.
"Use Bite and don't let it get away!" Crasher called out.
"Volt Tackle!" Sora ordered. Pikachu came at the atrocious Pokémon and lands a good clean hit. "Way to go, Pikachu!"
"What?!But that Volt Tackle hit in mid-air!" Crasher exclaimed. Gyarados was taken down by Pikachu's Volt Tackle.
"Gyarados is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Pikachu!" Sora said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Wow, that was awesome! You were right, Ray-Ray!" Bobby said.
"Told you!" Raymond said. Crasher calls back his fallen Gyarados and he smiled.
"Thank you, Gyarados. You did your best," Crasher said kindly. "As for you, Sora, the way you used the speed from Gyarados's fall with that Volt atackle was incredible!"
"I'm glad that I was able to impress you again! Thanks a lot!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said. Crasher took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Time for our next battle! Quagsire! On the water!" Crasher called out as Quagsire came on out to battle. Sora knew Quagsre is a Ground Type as well as a Water Type, so he calls Pikachu back.
"OKay, Pikachu! You did great, but come on back now!" Sora said. Pikachu came back to Sora's side. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Grotle!" He threw it and Grotle came on out to battle.
"Excellent strategy to come after my Quagsire with Type Pokémon! After you!" Crasher said.
"Grotle! Energy Ball!" Sora ordered. Grotle fires Energy Ball right at the mud fish Pokémon. As soon as Quagsire fires Energy Ball, Quagsire sways to the right.
"Just barely made a scratch!" Veemon said.
"Quagsire! in the pool!" Crasher called out. Quagsire dove in the water to throw off Sora.
"Quagsire is in the water, so I'll have to attack from the surface," Sora said. "Move around to throw off Quagsire!" Grotle moves around to throw off the mud fish Pokémon, but Quagisre could tell where Grotle is by the platforms on the water's surface.
"Sludge Bomb!" Crasher ordered. Quagsire fires Sludge Bomb at Grotle and it struck Grotle hard.
"How did Quagsire know we were going to do that?" Sora asked.
"Even underwater, Quagsire's excellent hearing allows it to know just wjere Grotle is every second!" Crasher said. "I'm afraid there's no place to hide in my Gym!" Quagsire swims around in the water. "Quagsire! Ice Beam!" Quagsire comes out and fires Ice Beam right at Grotle from behind.
"A direct hit!" Gabumon said.
"And that was pretty powerful!" Gatomon added.
"Sludge Bomb!" Crasher ordered. Sora quickly took out his Pokéball and quickly calls Grotle back. Sludge Bomb misses.
"That was close," Sora said.
"Smart. That was an excellent decision, Sora," Crasher said.
"It doesn't look as easy as it we thought," Palmon said.
"The one thing trainers like about Water Type Pokémon is that they can use Ice Type attacks," Meowth said.
"You said it, Meowth. And not to mention the way Quagsire used Sludge Bomb. Grass Types are weak against both of Poion and Grass Type attacks," Aqua said.
"That was very clever. Quagsire is also used to cancel out Electric Type Pokémon since he's a Ground Type to go along," Kairi said.
"Why would he do that?" Wormmon asked.
"Just to make it challenging for challengers like Sora," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go right in, Buizel!" Sora calle dout as Buizel came out to battle. Buizel satres at Quagsire and he's disappointed that he's not up against Floatzel. "Okay, Buizel! Sonic Boom!" Buizel swung his two tails and unleashed Sonic Boom on the mud fish Pokémon. Quagsire just stood there and he wasn't phased by Sonic Boom. "No way!"
"That's not going to do at all! Use Ice Beam!" Crasher ordered. Quagsire prepared to fire Ice Beam. Sora then got an idea. He remembered Dawn saying about an Ice Aqua Jet and wondered if he can put that into good use.
"I think we can use that Ice Beam. Buizel! Aqua Jet!" Sora ordered. Buizel launched himsefl with Aqua Jet and heads right towards Quagsire. As Ice Beam struck Buizel while in Aqua Jet, it frozen to make it look like a frozen bullet. This surprises both Quagire and Crasher.
"What's going on?!" Crasher exclaimed.
"Is that an Ice Aqua Jet?!" Ventus asked. Buizel made contact with Quagsire and lands a perfect hit. Quagsire had been taken down.
"Quagsire is unable to battle! Buizel wins!" The referee announced. The ice shatters as Buizle is proud to have won it.
"Nice job, Buizel," Sora said.
"Bui," Buizel smugly said.
"That was fantastic," Biyomon said.
The way that he turned the tables on Quagsire was sweet!" Patamon said.
"That was a great combinaion," Armadillomon said.
"And no, Crasher Wake is down to one Pokémon left to use," Tentomon said.
"And I think I have a good idea on which one that one is," Agumon said. Crasher calls Quagsire back and he smiles.
"Quagsire, excellent. Time for a good rest," Crasher said, taking out his next Pokéball. "Nice, Sora! You've really given me an enjoyable battle! Your speed and combinations are all first-rate! And that deserves respect. Now for my final Pokémon!" He threw it. "Floatzel! On the water!" Floatzel appeared on the battlefield as Buizel hadn't forgotten about his hurt pride.
"And here it is. The battle between evolved forms," Ventus said.
"Buizel is at a disadvantage since Floatzel is Buizel's evolved form. But I don't think that's going to stop him or Buizel," Terra said.
"Now, we'll have to see what kind of attacks Floatzel can use," Aqua said.
"Okay, Buizel! Use Aqua Jet!" Sora ordered. Buizel launches himself with Aqua Jet once again.
"Bounce it back!" Crasher called out as the floatation sac inflates and sends Buizel back. Buizel was shocked to see that his attack didn't even touch him.
"Floatzel's defenses are too tough!" Sora said. Crasher started laughing.
I'll tell you, Floatzel's floatation sac can get big enough for a person to ride! Even a super-strong move like Giga Impact wouldn't have any effect either!" Crasher said. "Pretty powerful stuff, wouldn't you say?"
"Water Pulse!" Sora ordered. Buizel forms Water Pulse and sends it right at his evolved form. Floatzel just stood there and gave the Water Pulse a punch with its paw. Sora and Buizel were shocked to see it.
"Now, we''ll just have a turn! Use Razor Wind!" Crasher ordered. Floatzel unleashes Razor Wind right at Buizel. Razor Wind has struck him hard.
"Buizel!" Sora gasped as Buizel fell in the water.
"That was a powerful Razor Wind!" Raymond said.
"Buizel! Water Gun!" Sora ordered. Buizel fires Water Gun at Floatzel, but Floatzel blocks with a fin and Buizel ceases fire.
"Water Type moves aren't going to work against us!" Crasher said.
"Come at Floatzel!" Sora called out. Buizel heads right for his evolved form.
"Intercept it!" Crasher called out as Floatzel dodges Buizel and gave him a light punch on the side. Buizel fell in the water again. "Now, use Bulk Up!" Floatzel began to flex its muscles and increases both of its attack and defense.
"What's Bulk Up?" Patamon asked.
"It's a move that can increase both attack and defense power, which can only mean Crasher's planning to finish it now," Kairi said. Floatzel dove in the water after Buizel. They circle each other in the water, waiting for the other to make.
"Sonic Boom!" Sora called out.
"Razor Wind!" Crasher ordered. Buizel and Floatzel fire Sonic Boom and Razor Wind and an explosion occurs underwater. They circkle around each other again. They both knew it was going to go either way.
"Aqua Jet!" Sora ordered. Buizel inflated his floatation sac and darts right at Floatzel. The evolved sea weasel Pokémon took the hit heavily. Buizel hurls Water Pulse at Floatzel and goes flying out of the water, creating a pillar of water. Buizel jumps out of the water nd looked at the pillar with pride.
"That was excellent! Use Ice Fang!" Crasher ordered. Floatzel came at Buizel with Ice Fang.
"Sonic Boom!" Sora ordered. Buizel unleashes Sonic Boom, but Floatzel moves to the right and lands a perfect Ice Fang on Buizel.
"Water Pulse!" Sora ordered. Buizel sends Water Pulse against Floatzel.
"Bounce it back!" Crasher called out. Floatzel's sac inflates and Water Pulse bounces right off.and Buizel ends up being confused by his own attack.
"Buizel's confused!" Sora gasped.
"Pika!" Pikachu also gasped.
"Razor Wind!" Crasher ordered as Buizel is sent flying right into Sora's arms. He catches the sea weasel Pokémon. Pikachu looked at his teammate with concern.
"Why don't you take a short rest for now?" Sora suggested. Buizel nodded. Sora looked right at his partner. "You're in, Pikachu."
"Pika," Pikachu said/. Pikachu comes back in the battlefield to battle Floatzel.
"Oaky, Pikachu, Floatzel took loads of damage battling Buizel, so let's finish what Buizel started! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right at Floatzel.
"Whirlpool!" Crasher ordered. Floatzel forms whirlpool and hurls it to block Thunderbolt. An explosion occurs as the water conduscted sparks. They struck both of Sora and Buizel. It was enough to snap Buizel out of his confusion. "Volt Tackle!"
"Razor WInd!" Crasher ordered.
Pikachu came at Floatzel with Volt Tackle as Floatzel fires Razor Wind at Pikachu and sends him flying and cancels out Volt Tackle.
"Eevee!" Angel gasped in horror.
"Pikachu, no!" Sora cried.
"Use Ice Fang!" Crasher ordered as Floatzel came at Pikachu with Ice Fang and landed a hit with Ice Fang. His back ends up being frozen from that Ice Fang.
"You see, Sora, my Floatzel is no ordinary Water Type Pokémon. It's the strongest Water Type Pokémon!" Crasher said.
"Bui, Bui!" Buizel said. Sora looked right at Buizel and saw how determind he is. "Bui, Bui, Bui!"
"You wanna go back out there after taking all that damage?" Sora asked.
"Bui," Buizel nodded.
"If that's what you want, then I won't stop you," Sora said. He called out to his partner. "Pikachu! Buizel's to go back in!"
"Pika!" Pikachu said. Crasher was impressed by the teamwork Sora's Pokémon were displaying.
"Excellent teamwork, Sora!" Crasher compliemented. They switch places as Pikachu and Buizel high-fived with each other. Buizel fires a gentle Water Gun on Pikachu's back, shattering the ice.
"Thanks a lot, Buizel!" Sora said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said. Buizel turned and he got ready to battle some more.
"That's wonderful! Seeing true friendship between Pokémon! So! Sora, bring it all on!" Crasher dared his opponent.
"Buizel! Aqua Jet!" Sora ordered as Buizel comes at Floatzel with Aqua Jet.
"Ha! You can't defeat Floatzel with Water Type moves! Ice Fang, go!" Crasher ordered. Floatzel came at Buizel with Ice Fang. Buizel gets pass Floatzel and right back at Floatzel from behind. "Not bad!" Buizel lands on a platform on the water as Floatzel stands back up. "Destroy where they stand with Razor Wind!" Floatzel fires Razor Wind at the platoform. An explosion occures, but Buizel jumps in the water in the cover of smoke. "Jump above, Floatzel!" Floatzel jumps to get Buizel, but when the smoke clears, it saw Buizel was gone. "The the?!
"Knock Floatzel down with your powerful Water Pulse!" Buizel jumps out of the water and gave the evolved sea weasel Pokémon a powerful Water Pulse up close.
"Floatzel!" Crasher gasped. Floatzel is sent flying as it lands on its back on a platform.
"Floatzel is unable to battle! Buizel wins! The victory goes to Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee annoucned. Everyone all cheered for Sora's win.
"Yes! Sora did it!" Sora and Ventus both cheered.
"Eevee!" Also cheered
"And he did it without losing a single Pokémon!" Raymond said.
"He's even better than you said he is!" Bobby said.
With that done, Buizel gave a few kicks and punches as Buizel started to evolve. The intense battle has caused Buizel to evolve into a Floatzel. Crasher was impressed by the way Sora has handled himself in battle. He calls his Floatzel back and he smiled.
"As always, great job, Floatzel," Crasher said. "Witnessing Buizel underwater like that during the explosion was something to see! And the way his Buizel had evolved after the battle is what I wasn't expecting. He's more powerful than I could ever expect," Crasher said. He went over to Sora with a big smile on his face. "You did a masterful job combining each of your Pokémon's abilities! Great effort!" Sora smiled right at him.
"Thanks, Crasher. I gotta tell you, you almost had each one of them. You're an awesome Gym Leader," Sora said.
"Your praise is appreciated, Sora. And I praise you for your skills. Out of many challengers I had, you have proven to me that you are the most challenging. And as proof that you have emerged victorious here in the Pastoria City Gym, I present to you, the Fen Badge," Crasher said, presenting Sora his Gym Badge. It is shaped like a lake with gray reeds around it or a wave seen from the front, a reference to the type of wetland called a fen. It also resembles Crasher Wake's Mask. Sora acepts it and sees he now has to get his hands on three more.
"Thanks a lot, Crasher," Sora said.
"No, Sora, thank you for that enjoyable battle," Crasher said. He turned to Raymond. "Raymond, I hope you can wait for our battle for tomorrow."
"I can wait. And I'm looking forward in seeing you in action, Crasher," Raymond said.
"You don't mind if we stick around and watch you, do you?" Sora asked.
"I have no objections, Sora. It's also admirable for friends to support each other. Not just between Pokémon but trainers as well," Crasher said.
And now that Sora has gained five Gym Badges, he only needs three more to gain. But Sora will find it harder since the Gym Leaders will be much more challenging and it was only a matter of time before some evil Digimon will make their move like MarineDevimon has earlier. Let's see where it goers from here.
