Episode 387: Sora vs Brandon
Okay, here's what you have been waiting for: the battle between Sora and Brandon. So, who will you root for? Well, you're going have to read it and find out. Enjoy!
Where we last left off, Paul had challenged Pyramid King Brandon to a full six-on-six battle. Paul wanted to defeat Brandon and prove that he can be even stronger than Sora, but unfortunately, due to the fierce strength of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, Paul's Pokémon stood little chance, and Brandon had won without losing a single Pokémon in battle. After Paul's defeat, Sora stepped in and challenged the Pyramid King to a battle. Now, we shall how well Sora does against the most powerful Frontier Brain of the Battle Frontier.
After the challenge was made, Sora went over which of his Pokémon he was going to use during the battle with Brandon. He thought for a bit. Sora has sent all his Pokéballs to Professor Oak's lab. So, Melmetal, Gliscor, Lucario, Murkrow, Inteleon, and Charizard were brought over. Sora used his Dusk Stone to evolve Murkrow into a Honchkrow and got ready for the battle coming up. Before he could get down to it, Sora did some training to get done for the upcoming battle. Kairi, Ventus Pikachu, and Angel watched as they trained.
"Okay, guys, I thought I should warn you that Brandon has three pretty tough and pretty powerful Pokémon under his wing. So, be ready for anything they come on out. They won't be pulling any punches with any of you," Sora said. All of Sora's Pokémon all said.
"You don't think Sora is going to lose, do you?" Ventus asked.
"Judging by that kind of power Brandon has shown us, I'm going to say that he's planning on making hard for Sora like he did with Paul," Kairi said.
"And that's how Brandon rolls," a new voice said. Kairi, Ventus, Pikachu, and Angel all turned to see a short, chubby man with thick, short black curly hair, a rounded face and sticking out ears. He wore a loose fitting shirt with a floral pattern and logos of Battle Frontier. He also wore shorts and sunglasses that obscure his eyes. He is also wearing his PokéNav on a lanyard around his neck. "Brandon's style is never going easy on his opponents."
"Who are you?" Kairi asked.
"Sorry, I should introduce myself. My name is Scott. I'm the owner of the Battle Frontier in the Hoenn region. When I heard he was coming here, I had to come and see for myself," Scott said.
"If you're the owner, then how come you're not wearing a business suit?" Ventus asked.
"Ven, he can wear what he wants," Kairi told her boyfriend's cousin.
"Let me guess, you're Kairi, right? I heard about you from Anabel. She said she met you in Porta Vista in Kanto," Scott said. He looked at Sora's cousin. "And you're Ventus."
"Yes. We met Anabel twice," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"What brings you here, Scott?" Ventus asked.
"As the owner, I make it my business to check on the trainers battling for me. And it looks like Sora has caught Brandon's eye. Not just anyone would have done that," Scott said. Kairi was amazed by how the owner will just come on down just like that. Sora got done training as Scott went up to him. "That's pretty good there, kid." Sora yelped in surprise when Scott approached him.
"Who are you?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Sorry to surprise you. The name's Scott and I'm the owner of the Battle Frontier in Hoenn," Scott introduced himself. "And you must be Sora."
"You heard about me through Anabel, right?" Sora asked.
"That's right. I was watching the Flute Cup and I was impressed by your battling skills. And Anabel told me that you won those because Kairi was admiring them. To be honest, I think that's very considerate of you to win those flutes her just to show you care," Scott said. Sora scratched the back of his head and chuckled nervously.
"Well, I'll have to hand it to Anabel, she was pretty tough," Sora said. He remembered how tough that battle was.
On the very next day, everyone were all gathered to witness the battle between Sora and Brandon. Paul was even there to see it for himself.
"Young man, how do you want to do it?" Brandon asked.
"Let's make it the same as last time. Six-on-ix. Substitutions allowed. The battle will be over when all Six are down for the count," Sora proposed.
"Very well," Brandon said, accepting the terms. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Dusclops! i need your assistance!" Brandon called out. Dusclops came on out to battle. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Honchkrow!" Sora called out. Honchkrow came on out to battle.
"Wow, Honchkrow. Sora must have evolved Murkrow last night," Aqua said.
"Sora must have known Brandon would have other Pokémon other than Regirock, Registeel, or Regice," Terra said.
"Honchkrow is a good choice to use against Dusclops since Dark Types has the advantage over Ghost Types," Zoey said.
"How come he didn't send any one of them out?" Terriermon asked.
"If I know Brandon, he must be testing Sora. He want to see how Sora handles himself in any situation in battle," Scott said.
"That makes sense," Reggie said.
"Dusclops! Use Shadow Punch!" Brandon ordered. Dusclops sends out a shadowy first to land a hit onto Honchkrow, and it did.
"Honchkrow! Use Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Honckhrow flew right at Duclops and slashed it with his talons. "Now, use Wing Attack!" Honchkrow batted the beckon Pokémon with his wings.
"Mean Look!" Brandon ordered. Dusclops uses Mean Look onto Honchkrow, so now Sora won't call Honchkrow back.
"What was that move Dusclops just used?" Lobomon asked.
"It's a move called Mean Look. When it's used, it prevents Pokémon from fleeing. It's very useful when trying to catch wild Pokémon that can get away," Terra said.
"All part of Brandon's test," Scott said.
"Use Will-O-Wisp!" Brandon ordered. Dusclops sends out Will-O-Wisp to Honchkrow.
"Use Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Honochkrow fires Dark Pulse and it cancels out Will-O-Wisp.
"Good save! If Will-O-Wsip hits, then Honchkrow would have been burned," Ventus said.
"True. Let's see how this will go," Riku said.
"Dusclops! Shadow Punch!" Brandon ordered. Dusclops sends out Shadow Punch right towards Honchkrow.
"Block with Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Honchkrow fires Dark Pulse and it blocked Shadow Punch from reaching its target. "Now, use Night Shade!" Honchkrow unleashed Night Shade and lands a hit onto Dusclops.
"Dusclops! Use Confuse Ray!" Brandon ordered. Dusclops sends out Confuse Ray and Honchkrow became confused by the move. "Now, use Shadow Punch!" Dusclops sends out Shadow Punch and landed a hit.
"Honchkrow, try to snap out of it!" Sora called out.
"Honchkrow's confused!" Palmon said.
"I get why it's called Confuse Ray," Wormmon said.
"Let's hope the best from the outcome," Aqua said.
"Dusclops! Shadow Punch!" Brandon ordered. Dusclops sends out Shadow Punch to land a hit onto Honchkrow and it did.
"Night Shade!" Sora ordered. Honchkrow attempted to fire Night Shade, but he ended up hurting himself in the process. "Honchkrow!"
"Will-O-Wisp!" Dusclops sends out Will-O-Wisp right at the big boss Pokémon.
"Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Honchkrow has fired Dark Pulse and it cancels out Will-O-Wisp.
"Close one," Gatomon said.
"Sure is," Patamon agreed.
"Use Shadow Punch!" Brandon ordered. Dusclops sends out Shadow Punch and landed a hit, snapping Honchkrow out of his confusion.
"Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Honchkrow fires Dark Pulse and it knocks Dusclops off its feet. "Now, use Night Slash!" Honchkrow flew towards Dusclops and landed a slash with his talons.
"Use Confuse Ray!" Brandon ordered.
"Night Shade!" Sora ordered. Honchkrow fires Night Shade and it lands a hit, sending Dusclops on the ground, beaten.
"Sora took down Dusclops! Mean Look is no longer in play!" Ventus said.
"That's good because it would have gone either way," Aqua said. Brandon calls Honchkrow back.
"Rest up, Dusclops, you have earned it," Brandon said. He looked right at Sora. "That was impressive Sora! You are every bit of a trainer Spenser has described to me. And now, let's see how well you do against this!" Brandon said, taking out his next Pokéball. "Ninjask! I need your assistance!" His Ninjask came out to battle. Sora calls back Honchkrow and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Gliscor!" Sora called out. Gliscor was unleashed from his Pokéball.
"I thought Sora was going with Gliscor," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Sora's Gliscor is just as awesome as mine," Lucas said, recalling the battle with Morrison.
"A good choice since Gliscor is a Flying Type," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Ninjask! Aerial Ace!" Brandon ordered. Ninjask darts right towards Gliscor with Aerial Ace.
"Block with X-Scissor!" Sora ordered. Gliscor used X-Scissor to block Aerial Ace.
"Wow, Gliscor blocked that Aerial Ace with X-Scissor," Scott said.
"Sora knew Aerial Ace won't be dodged, so he had X-Scissor to block," Riku said.
"Double Team!" Brandon ordered. Ninjask made several images of itself and surrounded Gliscor. "Now, use Slash!" Ninjask comes at Gliscor to land a hit.''
"Gliscor! Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Gliscor speards his wings out and attempted to land a hit onto Ninjask, but hits the images instead.
"Ninjask! Bug Buzz!" Brandon ordered. The several Ninjask sends out Bug Buzz and ithey all landed a hit onto Gliscor. "Now, use Aerial Ace!" Ninjask darts right at Gliscor and landed a hit.
"Gliscor!" Sora called out.
"Use Slash again!" Brandon ordered. The Ninjask all charged at the fang scorpion Pokémon and they each landed a hit. "Now use Bug Buzz!"
"Gliscor! Try to find the real one!" Sora called out. Gliscor focused on how and where to find te real Ninjask. Gliscor sensed the real Gliscor was right behind him, so Gliscor grabbed the real Ninjask with his tail, causing all the others to disappear. Gliscor slams Ninjask down onto the ground.
"Way to go! Gliscor found the real one!" Lucas said.
"Let's see how it turns out," Veemon said.
"Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Gliscor swipes his claw at Ninjask. "Now, use X-Scissor!" Gliscor used X-Scissor onto Ninjask and fell to the ground beaten. Brandon calls Ninjask back.
"Excellent work, Sora. Now for my third Pokémon! Solrock, I need your assistance!" Brandon called out. Solrock came out to battle against Sora's team. Sora calls back Gliscor.
"Your turn now, Inteleon!" Sora called out as Inteleon came out to battle. "Ineleon! Use Snipe Shot!" Sora ordered. Inteleon fires Snipe Shot to land a hit.
"Solrock! Dodge it and use Psywave!" Brandon called out. Solrock avoids Inteleon's Snipe Shot and sends out Psywave and landed a hit. "Use Solar Beam!" Solrock begins to charge up Solar Beam.
"Solar Beam's a Grass Type move! That'll cause some heavy damage when that hits!" Kairi said.
"Fire!" Brandon called out.
"Acrobatics!" Sora ordered. Inteleon avoids Solar Beam by using Acrobatics "Now, use Water Pulse!" Inteleon forms a ball of water and hurls it right at the meteorite Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Shadow Ball!" Brandon ordered. Solrock avoids Water Pulse and fires Shadow Ball.
"Dodge and use Water Pulse again!" Sora ordered. Inteleon avoids Shadow Ball and sends Water Pulse right at Solrock.
"Block it with your Psychic!" Brandon ordered. Solrock blocks Water Pulse by using Psychic and sends it back to the secret agent Pokémon.
"Water Pulse again!" Sora ordered. Inteleon fires Water Pulse and blocked Shadow Ball with Water Pulse, resulting in an explosion. "Use Sucker Punch!"
"Solar Beam!" Brandon ordered. Inteleon anticipated Solar Beam and dashed at Solrock and landed a hit on the sun-shaped Pokémon.
"That was great! Sucker Punch worked!" Ventus said.
"Sucker Punch only works when the move was anticipated. It will fail if Inteleon hasn't moved first," Riku said.
"Solrock! Psychic!" Solrock lifts Inteloen in the air with Psychic. "Now send it down!" Solrock does exactly that. Inteleon has hit the ground hard.
"Inteloen! Use Snipe Shot!" Sora ordered. Inteleon fires Snipe Shot right at Solrock and it was brought down. "Snipe Shot again and again!" Inteleon fired Snipe Shot repeatedly, soaking Solrock in water. "Now, use Water Pulse!" Inteleon forms a ball of water and sends it right at Solrock and landed a hit. Solrock had been taken down. Brandon called Solrock back and he smiled.
"That was an excellent display, Sora. Up to now, I was merely testing you. I knew there would come a day that I would face you, and I was prepared for it!" Brandon admitted.
"So, Brandon was testing Sora from the start," Riku said.
"Of course. He's not the Pyramid King for nothing. Ever since the Flute Cup, Brandon had to be prepared for Sora by testing him out by battling Solrock, Ninjask, and Dusclops first; to be certain he was ready for the real battle," Scott said.
"But he didn't do that with Paul or me," Reggie said.
"You two were different cases," Scott said. Paul was dumbfounded by how Sora was able to defeat three of Brandon's Pokémon without losing a single one, more so than when he battled Roark at the Oreburgh City Gym.
"And now, the test is over! The real battle is about to begin!" Brandon took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Regirock, I need your assistance!" Regirock came on out to battle against Sora's team. Sora calls back Inteleon.
"How come he's calling back Inteleon?" Dawn asked.
"It must be because of Shock Wave. That's an Electric Type move and that deals heavy damage to Inteleon," Terra said.
"That's a smart move," Candice said. Sora took out Gliscor's Pokéball and threw it.
"Gliscor! Back to action!" Sora called out. Gliscor came back out to battle. "Earthquake!" Gliscor stomps on the ground, making the whole battlefield shake. "Now, use X-Scissor!"
"Power-Up Punch!" Brandon ordered. Regirock overpowers X-Scissor with Power-Up Punch. Glisocr felt that pushing back at him. "Now, use Stone Edge!" Regirock sends out Stone Edge right at the fang scorpion Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Gliscor manages to dodge Stone Edge by flying. Gliscor dove down at Regirock and landed a hit onto the rock peak Pokémon.
"Good work! Gliscor is giving Regirock such a beating!" Ventus said.
"Don't celebrate just yet, Ven," Aqua said.
"She's right, kid. It'll take a whole lot more than a few hits to take down Regirock, and Sora knows it," Scott said.
"Regirock! Hyper Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fires Hyper Beam right at Gliscor and scores some heavy damage. Gliscor had been taken down. Brandon calls Regirock back.
"He did that with Paul. Regirock can't attack again right away after using Hyper Beam," Hawkmon said.
"Now, we'll see if he's going to be sending Regice or Registeel out next," Armadillomon said. Brandon took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Regice, I need your assistance!" Brandon called out, and Regice came on out to battle.
"And here's Regice," Naminé said. Sora calls back Gliscor and pulled out another Pokéball.
"Your turn now, Charizard!" Sora called out. Charizard came out with a mighty roar.
"Yes! Charizard is a great choice against Regice since being a Fire Type," Lucas said.
"True, but don't forget, Regice is a high level Pokémon," Reggie said.
"He's right. We all saw Types might not make the difference from the battle between Sora and Candice," Riku said.
"Charizard! Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Charizard fires Flamethrower right at Regice.
"Ice Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regice blocks Charizard's Flamethrower with Ice Beam. It resulted in an explosion between them. "Now, use Zap Cannon!" Regice fires Zap Cannon right at Charizard.
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Charizard avoids Regice's Zap Cannon and landed a hit with Dragon Claw. "Now, use Fire Fang!" Charizard lands a burning bite all over Regice, but the iceberg Pokémon is barely feeling anything.
"Power-Up Punch!" Brandon ordered. Regice lands a punch onto Charizard and fell on his back. Charizard stands back up. Sora calls Charizard back and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn, Lucario!" Sora called out. Lucario came on out to battle.
"So, he's sending out Lucario against Regice. A Fighting Type and a Steel Type to have the edge over Regice," Biyomon said.
"Maybe so, but don't count out Regice, because Regice is still kicking after taking that Fire Fang assault," Terra said.
"I take it that Lucario is the Aura Sphere Riolu," Reggie surmised.
"Aura Sphere Riolu?" Zoey asked, dumbfounded.
"I know it sounds odd, but it's true. Sora had Lucario since he had him as an egg. He Riolu already knew how to use Aura Sphere and then evolved into a Lucario when Pokémon Hunter J stole him from Sora, but we got him back," Kairi said.
"Regice! Zap Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Regice fires Zap Cannon right at Lucario.
"Double Team!" Sora ordered. Lucario makes several copies of himself.
"Ice Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regice fires Ice Beam right at the copies. The copies were all hit, leaving only the original.
"Aura Sphere!" Sora ordered. Lucario forms Aura Sphere and sends it right at Regice.
"Zap Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Regice fires Zap Cannon right at Aura Sphere and it resulted in a small explosion when both attacks collided.
"Lucario! Come at Regice with Bone Rush!" Sora ordered. Lucario charges right in to deliever a hit onto the iceberg Pokémon.
"Power-Up Punch!" Brandon ordered. Regice came at Lucario and landed a Power-Up Punch. Both had collided. Lucario had taken some heavy damage due to his weakness to Fighting Type moves. Regice also felt some damage. Brandon was impressed. He knew he was doing far better than Paul has.
"Lucario, can you sense something about Paul?" Sora asked though his aura.
"Yes, master. Even inside my Pokéball, I sensed it at the moment we entered the Battle Pyramid. You were right, some kind of force is at work. And I can sense someone is watching this battle just like he is," Lucario said through his aura.
"I thought you would. Myotismon is probably enjoying the show from wherever he is. So, how about we don't disappoint him?" Sora suggested through his aura.
"Yes. We shall give him a show I doubt he will forget," Lucario said through his aura.
"What's up with Lucario and Sora?" Dawn asked.
"I don't know," Meowth said.
Kairi knew he and Lucario were having a talk through their aura. Kairi was amazed by how they were able to do so. Kairi knew Sir Aaron had a Lucario by his side, so she wondered if his Lucario is descended from that Lucario.
"Regice! Ice Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regice fires Ice Beam right at Lucario.
"Dodge and use Aura Sphere!" Sora ordered. Lucario forms Aura Sphere and sends it right at Regice pretty fast.
"What?!" Brandon exclaimed in shock.
"No way he could pull it off! Neither me nor my brother could beat him?! There's no way he can accomplish what we failed to do!" Paul exclaimed in his thoughts.
"Regice! Power-Up Punch!" Brandon ordered. Regice came at Lucario with Power-Up Punch, hoping to land a hit.
"Dodge and use Force Palm!" Sora ordered. Lucario waited until Regice was close enough and he landed a hit with Force Palm. Regice was now paralyzed from Force Palm.
"Finish it with Aura Sphere!" Sora ordered. Lucario forms Aura Sphere and sends it right at Regice, landing a devastating blow. Regice was down for the count. Lucario panted out of exhaustion. Brandon calls Regice back.
"Excellent job, Regice. You have earned yourself a good rest," Brandon said.
"Good job, Lucario! I knew you could do it!" Sora said through his aura.
"I was glad to win one for the team, master," Lucario said through his aura. Sora took out Lucario's Pokéball.
"You should rest up, Lucario. You did enough for now," Sora said through his aura. Lucario nodded as Sora calls Lucario back.
"Excellent work, young man. You and your Pokémon are in perfect sync! More so than I have anticipated. And you are the first opponent I have ever had that has ever defeated my Regice," Brandon stated.
"Sora did something what neither me or Paul couldn't do," Reggie said.
"I knew there was something about him," Zoey said. Brandon took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Registeel, I need your assistance!" Brandon called out. Registeel came on out to battle. Sora took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Back to action, Charizard!" Sora called out. Charizard came back out with a roar. "Flamethrower!"
"Iron Head!" Brandon ordered. Registeel plows through Flamethrower and landed a hit onto Charizard. "Now, use Flash Cannon!" Registeel fires Flash Cannon.
"Dodge and use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Charizard flies to avoid Registeel's Flash Cannon and fires Flamethrower. Registeel has taken the hit and its whole body turned red from the heat. Registeel subsided the flames.
"Registeel! Metal Claw!" Brandon ordered. Registeel came at Charizarx with Metal Claw.
"Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Charizard came at Registeel and they swiped their attacks at each other. "Fire Fang!" Charizard gave Registeel with Fire Fang on the arm. "Now, use Flamethrower! Full power!" Charizard fires Flamethrower right at Registeel, turning its whole body red again.
"Registeel! Flash Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Registeel fires Flash Cannon. Charizard kept on firing Flamethrower to push back Flash Cannon. The both of them kept on firing and firing. Charizard increased the heat and manages to push Flash Cannon back and landed a hit onto Registeel. The iron Pokémon has taken some heavy damage from Flash Cannon. Charizard was panting hard from using all that Flamethrower.
"Iron Head!" Brandon ordered. Registeel came at Charizard with Iron Head.
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Charizard manages to avoid Registeel's Iron Head and swipes at Registeel with Dragon Claw. Registeel has taken some heavy damage from Dragon Claw. "Wrap it up with Fire Fang!" Charizard came at Registeel with Fire Fang and landed a heavy blow with Fire Fang. Registeel has fallen on its back, beaten. Charizard was exhausted from the battle. Brandon calls Registeel back.
"And that's Registeel down!" Ventus said.
"Now, there's only Regirock," Agumon said.
"Regirock, I need your assistance!" Brandon called out after he took out Regirock's Pokéball and threw it.
"Charizard, you okay to keep going?" Sora asked. Charizard turned and nodded. "Okay. Dragon Claw!"
"Stone Edge!" Brandon ordered. Regirock has sent out Stone Edge and the rocks all struck Charizard hard. "Now, use Shock Wave!" Regirock unleashes Shock Wave and Charizard takes a super-effective hit. Charizard is now down for the count. Sora calls back Charizard.
"You did your best, Charizard," Sora said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Inteleon! Back to action!" Inteleon came back to battle Regirock.
"Looks like Inteleon is back out," Gabumon said.
"Even though Regirock is a Rock Type, he's still at a disadvantage from Shock Wave," Gatomon said.
"Snipe Shot!" Sora ordered.
"Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fires Shock Wave and it struck Inteleon, dealing the same amount of damage to the secret agent Pokémon the same as Charizard. Inteloen has been taken out. Sora calls back Inteleon and took out Honchkrow's Pokéball and threw it.
"Honchkrow! Back to action!" Sora called out. Honchkrow comes back out to battle.
"Honchkrow's at a disadvantage," Ventus said.
"You're right, Ven," Meowth said.
"Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock sends out Shock Wave and lands a hit with Honchkrow and took him down. Sora calls back Honchkrow and took out Lucario's Pokéball and threw it.
"Lucario! Back to action!" Sora called out. Lucario came back out to battle against Regirock. "Aura Sphere!" Sora ordered. Lucario forms a ball of aura and sends it right at Regirock.
"Regirock! Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock uses it to black Aura Sphere. "Now, use Power-Up Punch!" Regirock comes at Lucario with Power-Up Punch.
"Double Team!" Sora ordered. Lucario uses Double Team and made several copies of himself. "Now, use Aura Sphere!" Lucario fires Aura Sphere right at Regirock. It did some damage, but not enough to bring it down.
"Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fires Shock Wave and it lands a hit onto Lucario. "Power-Up Punch!" Regirock lands a powerful punch onto the aura Pokémon, dealing heavy damage."Now, use Hyper Beam!" Regirock fires Hyper Beam and it deals heavy damage and Lucario has been taken down.
"Now, both are down to one Pokémon left," Candice said.
"If Pikachu isn't battling, what does Sora have in store?" Lucas asked.
"You're going have to find out," Kairi said. Sora took out his last Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Melmetal!" Sora called out. Melmetal came on out to battle. Lucas, Dawn, Paul, Zoey, Candice, and Reggie were stunned by the sight of the large Pokémon.
"What is that?!" Zoey asked.
"Melmetal," Ventus said.
"Melmetal?" Dawn asked.
"Melmetal is a Pokémon that Sora caught from Johto. Melmetal evolved from the Meltan which me, Sora, Lillie, Tai, Davis, and the others discovered by accident," Kairi said.
"You discovered Meltan? You're a more interesting bunch than I thought," Reggie said.
"So, this is Melmetal. I have heard rumors of its existence, and I am glad to see one with my own eyes. Show me what this Pokémon can do!" Brandon said.
"Melmetal! Double Iron Bash!" Sora ordered. Melmetal swings its arms around and sends them out to hit Regirock.
"Power-Up Punch!" Brandon ordered. Regirock sends out a punch attack to block the attack. "Now, use Shock Wave!"
"Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Melmetal fires Flash Cannon right at Regirock and it blocks Shock Wave. An explosion occurs between the both of them. "Use Thunder Punch!" Melmetal comes at Regirock with Thunder Punch. Melmetal lands a successful hit. "Now, use Mega Punch!" Melmetal lands a Mega Punch onto Regirock.
"Power-Up Punch!" Brandon ordered. Regirock comes at Melmtal with Power-Up Punch. Both punch attacks collides and they skid backwards. "Use Stone Edge!" Regirock sends out Stone Edge to land a hit.
"Double Iron Bash!" Sora ordered. Melmetal spins around and bats the rocks back. "Now, use Flash Cannon!"
"Hyper Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fires Hyper Beam right to block Flash Cannon. The attacks results in an explosion between them.
"Thunder Punch!" Sora ordered. Melmetal comes at Regirock with Thunder Punch. "Now, use Mega Punch!"
"Power-Up Punch!" Brandon ordered. Both Pokémon ;anded a punch onto each other. "Regirock! Power-Up Punch again!"
"Melmetal! Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Melmetal fires Flash Cannon and it sends Regirock back. Regirock is still standing on its feet.
"Regirock is still standing even after taking all those hits," Armadillomon said.
"For a walking of walking stones, Regirock can really dish it out. And Registeel and Regice are no pushovers, like we saw with Paul," Gomamon said.
"Regirock! Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock sends out Shock Wave towards Melmetal.
"Hold out your hand!" Sora called out. Melmetal holds out its hand and the electricity fomr Regirock's Shock Wave is being emitted onto Melmetal's hand. Melmetal clamps its hands together and electricity emits onto the both of them. "Now, use Thunder Punch!" Melmetal lands a powerful hit with Thunder Punch. Regirock was hit from electricity from its own attack. "Now, use Double Iron Bash!" Melmetal swings around and lands a powerful hit onto Regirock. The rock peak Pokémon has taken a huge load of damage from Double Iron Bash and Thunder Punch. "Wrap it up with Flash Cannon!" Melmetal fires Flash Cannon and lands a hit onto Regirock.
"No! Regirock!" Brandon gasped. Regirock was still standing from Flash Cannon. Melmetal was still exhausted from the intesne battling it was doing. Regirock stood there for a moment before Regirock has fallen on his front, out of exhaustion. Paul was shocked to see that Sora has taken down Brandon. Reggie, Lucas, Dawn, Candice, and Zoey were just as shocked.
"He did it!" Ventus, Meowth, and the Digimon all said. Brandon just smiled and called his Regirock back.
"Rest, Regirock. You have earned it," Brandon said. He approached Sora with a smile. "Well done, young man. I must say, I have enjoyed our battle! You have displayed potential I have not expected to see. And I am proud of the way you have raised each one of your Pokémon! You have displayed your inner strength in ways not even I would have expected! And that deserves respect! Once again, well done!"
"Thanks, Brandon. I have to admit, you kinda almost had me," Sora said. "And I'm glad that I was able to impress you."
"You have done more than that, Sora. You have done what none of my previous challengers has ever done before. You defeated all three of my Legandary Titans," He took out a gold symbol, resembling a square with an x across it. "As living proof that you have defeated the Pyramid King of the Battle Pyramid, it pleases me to reward you with the Brave Symbol." Sora was shocked to hear that Brandon was willing to reward him with a Frontier Symbol.
"But I'm not taking part of the Battle Frontier," Sora said.
"Regardless, it is to show thew world that you have. As the Frontier Brain of the Battle Pyramid, it is my desicion to make. And you have earned it," Brandon said. Sora accepts the Frontier Symbol with a smile.
"Thank you, Brandon," Sora said.
"No. Thank you," Brandon said.
With that settled, Paul took his leave, filled with even more rage to Sora accomlishing what he and Reggie couldn't.
"That was impressive, Sora. If you were competing for real, you would do fine in the Battle Frontier," Scott said.
"Thanks a lot, Scott. I have to say, I am flattered that I earned the Brave Symbol, so I'm not really taking part of it," Sora said.
"Keep it. Brandon is right. It is his decisiion to make rather if it was an official Frontier Battle or not. Also, the world should know what you did. The rest of the Frontier Brains would be so amazed by your accomplishments, so I'll be arranging them to have a battle with you before you get to the Sinnoh Pokémon League," Scott said.
"You can do that?" Sora asked.
"Sure can. Like I said, I own it, and I can do what I want," Scott said. "So, don't be surprised when you see Anabel and the others." He got into his red car and drove off. "Don't be a stranger, Champ!" He drove off. Candice went up to congratulate Sora.
"That was awesome, Sora. You're even better than Zo-Zo said you were," Candice said.
"Thanks, Candice. And since I won seven Gym Badges, where do I go next?" Sora asked.
"Your eight and final challenge is in Sunyshore City. And the Gym Leader there goes by the name of Volkner, and he's nothing to sneeze at. He specializes with Electric Type Pokémon," Candice said.
"Then, our next stop is in Sunyshore City," Sora said.
"And before you go, I just wanna say good luck to the both of you. Sora in your Gym battle, and Kairi, for the Grand Festival," Candice said.
"Thank you," Kairi said. Candice and Zoey has taken off as well. Just when they were about to take off, Samuel and Maria has driven back to the Battle Pyramid.
"Where is Brandon?!" Samuel exclaimed.
"What's wrong?" Sora asked. Brandon has stepped out as soon as he heard Samuel's voice.
"Sam? What's wrong?" Brandon asked.
"There's an emergency at the temple!" Maria said.
"Oh no!" Brandon exclaimed.
