Episode 389: Sora's Frontier Challenge!
Before we get started, I would like to say, that Sora will be taking on each one of the members of the Hoenn Battle Frontier just as Scott said he would. I hope that you will enjoy the chapter as we go on! So, let's the show on the road!
A couple of days has passed since leavn Snowpoint City. By then, Sora has exchanged the Pokémon he used in his battle against Brandon of the Battle Pyramid for Pikachu's Pokéball as brings Grotle, Monferno, Prinplup, the East Sea Shellos, and Luxio over to him. Kairi exchanged Golem for Darumaka. Sora received an email from Professor Oak, telling him to make contact right away. Sora has made contact with Professor Oak's number.
"Sora, good to hear from you after so long," Professor Oak said.
"Professor, what's up?" Sora asked.
"I have just gotten word that you have defeated Brandon, the Pyramid King and earned a Frontier Symbol, is that right?" Professor Oak asked.
"Yeah. How did you hear about it so fast?" Sora asked.
"Word tends to spread all around. I must say you never cease to amaze me. Everyone in town is talking about your accomplishments. Even Gary wasn't able to pull it off," Professor Oak said.
"Well, I did challenge Brandon in a match, and won, but it was challenging when he sent out Regirock, Regice, and Registeel out," Sora said. "Anyway, Kairi has won her fifth Contest Ribbon."
"I know. Kairi's father has been sharing that news all over the neighborhood. In fact all your neighbors have been rooting for you from day one," Professor Oak said. "Also, what about you? How many Gym Badges have you earned and where are you heading next?"
"I won seven Gym Badges and we're heading over to Sunyshore City for Badge number eight," Sora said.
"Well done, Sora. I had a feeling that you would have that many Gym Badges by now," Professor Oak said.
"So, Professor, is that all you wanted to say to me?" Sora asked.
"It was. So, keep up the good work, my boy," Professor Oak said.
With that said, Professor Oak broke contact with Sora. As Sora was about to rejoin his friends, he bumped into a tall man, who has orange eyes and yellow hair. He wore a green coat with yellow buttons, a white shirt, brown pants with a black belt, black boots and black gloves.
"Sorry, I didn't see you there," Sora said.
"Not a problem, kid," the man said. "Where are you heading?"
"Just back with my friends," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said. The man looked right at Pikachu and grinned.
"Is that your Pikachu, kid?" The man asked.
"Yeah, he's my parnter," Sora said. The man looked right at Sora.
"Is that right? You look like a good and responsible trainer to raise this Pikachu well," the man said.
"Sora!" A familiar voice shouted. It belonged to Barry running in. "Man, I was hoping to bump into you eventu-" Barry was cut off. "Dad?"
"Barry!" Sora and the man both said in unison. They then looked at each other. "You know him?"
"Dad, what are you doing here?" Barry asked.
"Just doing a little traveling. You look like you're doing good, son," Barry's father said.
"Barry, this guy is your dad?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. Sora, this is Palmer, my dad. Dad, this is Sora Ketchum. He's that Pokémon League Champion I was telling you about," Barry introduced.
"A Pokémon League Champion, huh? I never would have guessed," Palmer said.
"Um, it's nice to meet you, sir," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"So, Barry, how far did you go in your Gym Battles?" Palmer said.
"I so far earned six. The Hearthrome City Gym is still eluding me," Barry said.
"Don't give up, son. I know you'll get it eventually," Palmer said. He turned to Sora. "So, Sora, isn't it?" Sora nodded. "How many Gym Badges did you win?"
"I won seven," Sora said, showing him his Gym Badges. "The Icicle Badge I won just days ago."
"I have to say, you have to be an excellent Pokémon trainer if you earned seven Gym Badges already," Palmer said.
"And I got this," Sora said, showing them the Brave Symbol. Palmer was stunned to see it.
"Well, I'll be! That's the Brave Symbol! You won that from Brandon the Pyramid King! I heard he has three legendary Pokémon under his belt," Palmer said.
"You heard right because I took on all three of them and won; but it wasn't easy I can tell you," Sora said.
"I don't doubt it," Palmer said.
"Wow, you're even more awesome than I thought. Say, are Kairi and the others here, too?" Barry asked.
"Yeah, I was about to meet with them when I bumped into your dad here," Sora said. And perfect timing, Kairi came to Sora.
"There you are, Sora. I was about to look for you," Kairi said.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Kairi," Sora said. Kairi noticed Barry right in front of her.
"Barry, hi, it's been a while," Kairi said.
"Hey, Kairi. I see that you're still with this guy. You win any Contests lately?" Barry asked.
"I did," Kairi said, showing Barry her Ribbons.
"So, you're a Pokémon Coordinator. You got to have loads of talent if you won those Ribbons," Palmer said, very impressed.
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"Kairi, this is my dad, Palmer. Dad, this is Kairi, Sora's girlfriend," Barry said.
"Kairi. I think I heard that name before. That's right. I heard that name from Dahlia. She judged the Jublife Contest," Palmer said.
"She's the Frontier Brain of the Battle Arcade, isn't she?" Kairi asked.
"She is. She said that you're the same Coordinator who won the Hoenn Grand Festival," Palmer said.
"Are Terra, Ven, and Aqua waiting for you?" Barry asked.
"Yes. We were about to have lunch. You're welcome to join us, Barry," Kairi offered.
"Thanks," Barry said.
"Speaking of eating, your mother did call me the other day and she was wondering if you were eating okay," Palmer said. Barry blushed, making Sora chuckle. Kairi elbows her boyfriend to get him to stop laughing.
"I'm eating fine, dad. And it was good seeing you again and I'll tell mom we spoke," Barry said. Barry went with the couple and Pikachu. "See ya, dad."
"See you later, son," Palmer said.
Barry joins the group for lunch. So far, Barry's Monferno had evolved into an Infernape, but he also has a Floatzel, a Roserade, a Staraptor, a Heracross, and a Snorlax. They ate along with Pikachu, Angel, Grotle, Prinplup, Monferno, Luxio, the Shellos, Darumaka, Combee, Glameow, and Happiny.
"So, how are things with you?" Barry asked.
"Well, things have been okay, if you don't count evil Digimon showing up and causing trouble," Sora said.
"That still going on?" Barry asked.
"Yeah, two of Myotismon's goons have been dealt with. And we took out a Demon Lord Digimon," Ventus said.
"It was me and VictoryGreymon who did that," Agumon said.
"And if Myotismon's here in the real world, then we could some trouble on our hands," Barry said.
"No kidding. And we also have Team Galactic out there," Sora said.
"And it's only a matter of time before they try to find us," Aqua said.
"So, we have to be ready," Gabumon said.
After they ate their lunch, Kairi was training for the Grand Festival, wanting to be ready. Sora decided to do some training of his own. He was training his team hard. During the training, his Shellos had evolved into an East Sea Gastrodon. During Kairi's part of the training, Combee, the West Sea Shellos, Glameow, and Happiny all evolved. Just then, a Cherubi came and attacked.
"Darumaka! Go!" Kairi called out. Darumaka rushed over to battle. Cherubi fires Leafage at the Galarian zen charm Pokémon. "Use Powder Snow!" Darumaka fires Powder Snow and freezes the leaves. "Now, use Fire Punch!" Darumaka comes at Cherubi and lands a Fire Punch. "Now, use Ice Punch!" Darumaka lands an Ice Punch and lands a hit onto Cherubi. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. The Pokéball struck Cherubi and flows inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box activates and it asks her if she wants to keep Cherubi with her. She chose to send Cherubi to Professor Oak's lab.
"That was a great catch, Kairi," Barry said.
"Thanks," Kairi said.
"I'll say it was," a familiar voice spoke. They all turned to see Anabel coming.
"Anabel! It's good to see you!" Kairi said.
"Hello, Kairi!" Anabel greeted. She spotted the Eevee with her. "Hello there. Who are you?"
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Angel, that's a very cute name," Anabel said.
"Hey, Anabel, we haven't seen you since the Flute Cup," Sora said.
"Right back at you, Sora and Pikachu," Anabel said. She spotted three more familiar faces. "Ven, Terra, Aqua! Hello again!"
"It's been a long time, Anabel," Terra said.
"Who is that?" Agumon asked.
"This is Anabel. We met her back in Porta Vista. She has the ability to speak with Pokémon," Aqua said.
Anabel noticed that there's a Meowth and some others she isn't familiar with.
"So, what about them?" Anabel asked.
"This is Meowth, he's with us," Sora said.
"Um, hi," Meowth greeted. Anabel was astounded.
"Wow, a Meowth that speak like a person," Anabel said.
"And these guys here are Digimon. Meet Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon, Patamon, Salamon, Veemon, Wormmon, Hawkmon, and Armadillomon. Guys, this is Anabel," Sora introduced.
"It's nice to meet you," Agumon said.
"So, these are the Digimon I've been hearing about. Brandon mentioned he saw them at the Battle Pyramid," Anabel said. Barry stepped in.
"Excuse me, but I'm Barry," Barry introduced himself.
"Sorry, it's nice to meet you, Barry," Anabel said.
"So, when did you get you here?" Kairi asked.
"Not too long. Me and the other Frontier Brains were alled here by Scott," Anabel said. "He wouldn't pull us all down unless it was important." Anabel looked right at Darumaka. "I have to say, Kairi, your Darumaka looks ready to evolve."
"You think so?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah. She would be if you had an Ice Stone," Anabel said. Kairi took an Ice Stone out and she held it to her Darumaka.
"How about it, Darumaka? Ready to evolve?" Kairi asked. Darumaka placed her hand on the Ice Stone and started to evolve. Darumaka has evolved into a Darmanitan that has white fur and blue skin with a giant snowball "afro", a thicker coat the other Darmanitan, and several ice gems in its fur.
"I'd that a Darmanitan?" Ventus asked.
"Yes it is, Ven. It's a Galarian Darmanitan," Aqua said. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned his girlfriend's newly evolved Pokémon.

Type: Ice
On days when blizzards blow through, it comes down to where people live. It stashes food in the snowball on its head, taking it home for later. Though it has a gentle disposition, it's also very strong. It will quickly freeze the snowball on its head before going for a headbutt. The Galarian Darmanitan in its Zen Mode is an Ice Type and a Fire Type.
The image on Sora's Pokédex changes into what looks like snowman with red eyes and a warped smile on its false top "head", and an angry grin on its lower body, showing razor-sharp teeth. It has two orange hands that resemble mittens on either side of its body and a flame sticking out of the head as its "carrot nose".
"Now that's an unusual mix," Terra said.
"And cool; no pun intended," Ventus said.
"Darmanitan," the newly Darmanitan has changed into her Zen Mode.
"Do you wanna build a snowman?" Meowth sang. Darmanitan gave Meowth a burn with her flames. "Hot, hot, hot!"
It wasn't long before the group are met by the rest of the Frontier Brains.
"Sora, it's been a long time, hasn't it?" Noland asked.
"Sure has," Sora said.
"Hey Kairi. Heard you won the Hoenn Grand Festival," Greta said.
"Thanks," Kairi said.
"Guys, this kid here is Ven, he's Sora's cousin. And these two are Terra and Aqua," Anabel introduced.
"Cousin? I thought he was his little brother," Greta said.
"I have assumed that as well," Lucy said. Spenser approached Ventus and he smiled.
"You seem to have some potential in you, young Ventus," Spenser said.
"This is Spenser. And these are Noland, Greta, Lucy, and Tucker," Anabel introduced.
"Good to meet you," Terra said.
"I can see everybody is getting acquainted," Scott said, coming in.
"Scott!" Sora and Kairi both said.
"So, Scoot, you said you were going to arrange some battles from the Frontier Brains, so you brought them all here," Sora said.
"Right. They were all amazed by how you defeated Brandon and won the Brave Symbol, so I thought maybe, you could have a chance to battle them all at once. It turns out that they all had free schedules, so they wanted to have their shot with you ever since you won the Flute Cup. I thought maybe, it'll be good for the Hoenn Battle Frontier to have a chance to meet and battle the Pokémon League Champion," Scott said.
"Something else you wanna share with us?" Wormmon asked.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I thought it would be a live television special from Hoenn," Scott said as a TV crew came riding in.
"Oh man," Sora said under his breath. Gabby stepped out along with her cameraman, Ty. Ty is wearing a shirt with a Rotom painted on it. He also wears some pants tightened by a belt.Ty turned on his camera.
"We're live on five, four, three, two, one," Ty said, counting and points to Gabby.
"Hello, battling fans, this Gabby from Hoenn TV, and we're standing live right here in the Sinnoh region to meet Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon League Champion of the Indigo Plateau, the as well as the Johto and Hoenn Pokémon Leagues. And standing beside me as well is Scott, owner and operator of the Hoenn Battle Frontier! An interesting turn of events has occurred recently as Sora Ketchum has defeated Pyramid King Brandon, the most powerful Frontier Brain and earned a Brave Symbol," Gabby stated.
Watching on Live TV in Hoenn was Norman and Caroline along with Max. Wally was at his house, watching the event on TV. In Johto, DJ Mary was watching the event on her own TV. Delia is sitting at home watching along with Yuta, Mirei, Kairi's grandmother, Mimey, Brian, Brianna, and Comfey. Sitting on a dresser is a photo of Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Togepi, the Pichu, and the Alolan nine along with all of their Pokémon taken the night before he, Kairi, and Pikachu set off for Hoenn. Another is with Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and all the other Pokémon along with their inter-dimensional friends after dealing with the Brotherhood of Darkness. At Porta Vista, Danny and Cattelya were watching on TV at their house. It turns out Tai, Kari, Matt, TK, Izzy, Sara, Mimi, Joe, Davis, Jun, Ken, Cody, Yolei, Takato, Guil, Henry, Rika, Takuya, Koji, Koichi, Tommy, Zoe, JP, Mime Jr., and Munchlax were watching the event with their families. Amy got to know Davis's family and they treated her like one of their own. Jun even liked her, apart teasing her little brother every chance she got. Impdidimp is at a house watching the event with Takato and his family and two younger kids. One of them is a little girl with lightly tanned skin, brown eyes, and shoulder-length brown hair, which is worn in pigtails with red hair ties. She wore a pink shirt with long sleeves under a wine-colored dress, and yellow socks, and pink sneakers with white soles. Another is a little boy with light skin, brown eyes, and brown spiky hair. He wore a white shirt with long sleeves under a blue jumpsuit with a red pocket on each side, and green socks, and green sneakers with white soles. Elsewhere, Yugi, Zeraora, Téa, Joey, Tristan, Bakura, Duke, Mai, and Serenity were watching the event on TV in Yugi's home. Elsewhere, Weevil and Rex were watching th event on TV and they were steamed over seing him on the screen. In Vridian City, Hayner, Pence, and Olette were watching the event as well. In Alola, each of the Alolan nine were watching on their own TVs.
"Just like Sora to draw attention," Kiawe said.
"Now, a word from our host," Gabby said.
"Thanks a lot, Gabby. I just want to say that I am pleased to host this event. It'll give our trainers a chance to grow and become stronger," Scott announced. Kairi tapped on Scott's shoulder.
"Why is there a camera crew here?" Kairi whispered.
"It was Tucker's idea. He wanted it to be a spectacle, just to give a live performance," Scott whispered back. The rest of the Frontier Brains, except for Spenser all gave Tucker a sour look as Tucker just grinned.
"Oh, the cameras just love him, don't they?" Greta deadpanned.
"Some things just can't be helped," Spenser said. "Also, I think it's amusing." Spenser couldn't help but chuckle. Gabby set her attention onto Sora.
"Sora, word is that you challenged Brandon into a battle, so the question that is on everyone's minds is how you feel about defeating the most powerful Frontier Brain of the Hoenn Battle Frontier?" Gabby asked.
"Well, to be honest, Brandon was a tough opponent to beat, so I thought he might have had me, but I managed to come out on top at the end. I mean, I didn't do anything special, all I did was give it my all. Brandon did the same thing," Sora said.
"And what inspired you to challenge Brandon to a battle?" Gabby asked.
"Well, it was after watching him battle against a trainer I know, so I thought I would show Brandon my own inner strength. To be honest, I didn't really care if I won or lost," Sora said.
Elsewhere in a tall tower, watching the event on TV, is a young man wearing long trenchcoat with a black turtleneck and matching pants and dons a steel wristbands in both of his wrist. With him is a younger boy with tan skin with grayish-purple eyes and long black hair. He is wearinga green blue-striped shirt with a yellow vest over it, dark blue jeans, and blue sneakers.
"So, that's the infamous Sora Ketchum. He doesn't look like much to me," the young man said.
"He has quire a reputaion, Seto. I heard that he brought down Team Rocket a short time before he and his girlfriend went off to the Sinnoh region," the boy said.
"Team Rocket were nothing but a bunch of losers, Mokuba. Them, especially their boss, Giovanni," Seto scoffed. "But that kid is nothing as well. Especially after I defeat him and earn the title as the trainer who defeated the so-called Pokémon League Champion."
"Preparations for Sora's battles will begin soon, so stay tuned!" Gabby said.
"Okay, and we're out," Ty said.
"Good," Gabby said.
"Was the interview necessary?" Sora asked.
"Well, you owed me one since Team Aqua invaded the Weather Insitution," Gabby stated. Sora honestly had no idea she was even there until now.
"How about we set things up," Scott said.
With that said, the first set of the series of battles Sora was about to have was about to go underway. Kairi, Aqua, and the female Digimon all dressed in cheerleader outfits. It turns out Noland is the first challenger of the battle. The event has drawn lots of attention. Bertha of the Elite Four was just arrving to the scene to see what the occasion was about. Palmer was even drawn to the craze. Dahli was was even interested in the event happening. Coming along was a pale, teal-eyed man with black slick hair, with the top being green. Unlike most people, his eyes are always half-shut. He wore a teal tie, which has a white button, over his black shirt with white sleeves. He also wore a teal belt, green shorts and black shoes. He also has some gadgets, which he usually keeps in a spare container around his waist. Another is a man wearing a tuxedo and has a golden yellow stripe on the top of his black hair. With him is a girl with long, wavy, blonde/light brown hair and blue eyes. Her hair appears to be thigh-length and contains accessories clipped on the ends of her hair that bear the resemblance of pink butterfly wings that flutter.She wore a long-sleeved white blouse tied with a bow on the chest over a pink dress and pink shoes with white bows and soles. And finally, is a classy and fashionable old woman with fair skin, purple hair, and red eyes. She wore a white turtleneck, a red jacket with gray rings, and long red shorts with a black Pokéball symbol, along with purple tights and long black boots with tall white heels. To complete her outfit, she wore black gloves, red-framed sunglasses, and circular blue earrings, pairing them all with purple lipstick.
"Now, to those of you who are just tuning in, we area bout to have our very first battle of the series of battles is about to begin! We have Sora Ketchum of Pallet Town of the Kanto region, and Pokémon League Champion, battling the Factory Head Noland!" Gabby announced. Gabby approaches Noland. "So, Noland which one of your Pokémon will you be sending out today?"
"To answer your question, I will be using something I wouldn't normally use unless it's necessary. So, I'll be sending out a Pokémon that that come through for me more times than I can count," Noland said. With that said, Articuno flew right in, captivating everyone. "And here it is!"
"So, the Pokémon you're sending out is the legendary Pokémon, Ariticuno! That is quite rare for a trainer to have a legendary Pokémon!" Gabby said.
"Ariticuno isn't officially mine, but Articuno is a reliable friend," Noland said.
"And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! The first battle is about to begin momentarily! If memory serves, Sora and Noland has previously battled in the Flute Cup and he has overcome both his Machamp and Lairon with his Pikachu. We shall begin as soon as our referee approaches." The referee has arrived to the scene and he looked at the two
"This battle is between Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon League Champion against the Battle Tycoon, Factory Head Noland! Before we begin, I would like to discuss the rules set of the battles provided by each of the Frontier Brains! Both trainers will be using one Pokémon each! And the battle shall be over when either one of the trainer's Pokémon is unable to continue battling! Choose and begin!" Sora turned to Pikachu.
"Okay, Pikachu! Move right in!" Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said, moving in the battle. Noland turned to Articuno.
"You're going in, Articuno!" Noland said. Articuno flew in to battle.
"Sora is going with Pikachu, as Noland is going with Articuno! Pikachu may have the advantage of being an Electric Type Pokémon, but Articuno has the advantage of being a legendary Pokémon, knowing Sora will not find this easy!" Gabby announced.
"Articuno, a legendary Pokémon," Ventus said.
"Articuno is a Flying Type, so Sora has this in the bag," Gabumon said.
"Right, but Articuno is a high level Pokémon and Sora knows that. So, Articuno will just use some Ice Type attacks to put Pikachu on ice; literally," Terra said.
"Brr, I'm getting cold just thinking about it," Hawkmon said.
"Noland! You shall make the first move!" The referee called out.
"Artcuno! Blizzard!" Noland ordered. Articuno fires Blizzard right at the mouse Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu avoided Articuno's Blizzard and headed right towards the freeze Pokémon.
"Aerial Ace!" Noland ordered. Articuno avoided Pikachu's Quick Attack and lands a hit onto Pikachu. "Now, use Ice Beam!" Articuno fires Ice Beam right at Pikachu.
"Dodge it, Pikachu!" Sora called out. Pikachu avoids Articuno's Ice Beam.
"That was close," Armadillomon said.
"But for how long?" Tentomon asked.
"Say, isn't Iron Tail affective against Articuno?" Gomamon asked.
"Yes, it is. Let's just hope Sora can get the chance to land a hit," Barry said.
"Articuno! Come at Pikachu with Steel Wing!" Noland ordered.
"Jump onto Articuno's back, Pikachu!" Sora called out. Pikachu jumped onto Articuno's back. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings his tail at the freeze Pokémon. Articuno has felt that.
"Get Pikachu off your back, Articuno!" Noland called out. Articuno flew and turned to get Pikachu off its back. Pikachu has fallen on the ground. "Now, use Ice Beam!" Articuno fires Ice Beam right right at Pikachu.
"Dodge it, Pikachu!" Sora called out. Pikachu ran to avoid Ice Beam, but he got hit by the ice attack.
"Pikachu got hit by that," Agumon said.
"If Sora does not turn it around and fast, he's going to lose," Gabumon said.
"Don't even say that, Gabumon!" Kairi scolded Gabumon.
"Aritcuno! Blizzard!" Noland ordered. Articuno fires Blizzard right at Pikachu and he was blown away in the Blizzard.
"Now, I'm really getting cold just by watching," Armadillomon said.
"So am I. I feel like my flower is about to wilt," Palmon said.
"Aerial Ace!" Noland ordered. Articuno dashed right at Pikachu again, landing another hit.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right at Articuno, landing a hit. Articuno took heavy damage due to its weakness to Electric Type moves. "Now, use Volt Tackle!" Pikachu charges right at Articuno with an electrified tackle. Articuno flew to avoid Volt Tackle.
"Articuno! Blizzard!" Noland ordered. Articuno unleashed Blizzard and Pikachu was struck hard with Blizzard. "Aerial Ace!" Articuno comes at Pikachu again and lands a hit. "Steel Wing!" Articuno comes at Pikachu with Steel Wing. Sora was waiting for that.
"Pikachu! Jump on Articuno's back again!" Sora called out. Pikachu does jump on Articuno's back and held on.
"That old trick again?" Noland asked.
"Yes, but with a new twist! Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave the freeze Pokémon a powerful shock, paralyzing it.
"Articuno's paralyzed!" Ventus said.
"That means Articuno won't be able to move as much," Terra said.
"Volt Tackle!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran towards Articuno with Volt Tackle and lands a heavy blow. Pikachu suffered recoil damage from use of Volt Tackle.
"Articuno, can you keep going?" Noland asked. Articuno fell to the ground beaten.
"Articuno is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! Sora wins the battle!" The referee announced. The crowd all cheered as Sora had won the first battle.
"And Sora won the first round against Noland!" Gabby announced. Noland walked over to Sora and they both shook hands.
"Congratulations on winning, Sora. Gotta hand it to you, you're much stronger than the last time," Noland said.
"You were pretty tough back then, and you were tough now," Sora said. Noland takes out a gold symbol with three diamonds on display.
"Here, the Knowledge Symbol. You deserved it," Noland said. Sora accepts it and smiled.
"Wasn't that an exciting match? Our next match will begin soon enough! And it will be against the Arena Tycoon Greta next!" Sora hands Pikachu to Kairi.
"You'll have to sit the next one out, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said. Sora sent Pikachu's Pokéball back to Professor Oak's lab and he has Alakazam sent to him. He figured Alakazam would be his secret weapon. Afer he sends out Monferno.
"Our next match up, Sora will be battling the Battle Tycoon Greta! She specializes with Fighting Types! What sort of strategy does he have against this tough trainer?" Gabby asked.
"Now, the battle between Battle Tycoon Greta and Sora Ketchum shall begin! Both trainers will be battling using two Pokémon each! Only Sora will be allowed to make substitutions anytime and the battle shall be over when both of either trainer's Pokémon is unable to continue battling! Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee announced. Greta took out her two Pokéballs and threw them.
"My choices are Medicham and Hariyama!" Greta called out. Medicham and Hariyama both came out. Sora took out his two Pokéballs and threw them.
"My choices are Alakazam and Monferno!" Sora called out. Alakazam and Monferno both came out. Stars swirls around Alakazam upon entry.
"So, Sora is sending Alakazam out to battle," Agumon said.
"Alakazam's a good choice since they're Fighting Types, but at the same time, it's a problem, since Medicham is also a Psychic Type Pokémon," Terra said.
"Hariyama, you're in first!" Greta said. Hariyama moves right in. Sora turned to Monferno.
"You'll be going first, Monferno," Sora said. Monferno steps right in to battle Hariyama.
"Sora has the first move!" The referee announced.
"Monferno! Mach Punch!" Sora ordered. Monferno dashed right at the arm thrust Pokémon and landed a successful punch.
"Hariyama! Arm Thrust!" Greta ordered. Hariyama pushes its arms forward to land a hit onto Monferno.
"Dodge and use Flame Wheel!" Sora ordered. Monferno rolled into a ball of fire and rolled right Hariyama, causing some damage. Hariyama took a few steps back.
"Hariyama! Thunder Punch!" Greta ordered. Hariyama's fist emits electricity and lands a hit onto the fire monkey Pokémon. "Now, use Seismic Toss!" Hariyama grabs Monferno and hurls around and gave the playful Pokémon a toss. Monferno stood back up on his feet.
"You okay, Monferno?" Sora asked.
"Ferno," Monferno answered.
"Great! Use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Monferno fires Flamethrower right at the arm thrust Pokémon.
"Hariyama! Use Thunder Punch!" Greta ordered. Hariyama came at Monferno with another Thunder Punch.
"Dig!" Sora ordered. Monferno dug in the earth to avoid Hariyama's Thunder Punch attack.
"A good save for Monferno to use Dig," Tentomon said.
"Yeah, and Hariyama using Thunder Punch is a way she deals with Flying Types," Barry said.
"True, Barry. Greta did her homework on the matter," Aqua said.
Monferno came on out and landed a hit onto Hariyama.
"Mach Punch!" Sora ordered. Monferno landed a hit onto the arm thrust Pokémon. "Now, use Flame Wheel!"
"Seismic Toss!" Greta ordered. Hariyama grabbed Monferno and gave the fire monkey Pokémon a toss on the ground.
"Monferno! Dig!" Sora ordered. Monferno dug through the ground again.
"Hariyama, use Arm Thrust as soon as Monferno comes out!" Greta ordered. Hariyama waited for Monfero come out. Hariyama kept looking around for Monferno. The playful Pokémon jumped right out and uses Arm Thrust.
"Mach Punch!" Sora ordered. Monferno lands a Mach Punch onto Hariyama. "Now, use Flame Wheel!" Monferno rolls right into Hariyama and resulted in a knockout for the arm thrust Pokémon.
"Hariyama is unable to battle! Monferno wins!" The referee announced. Greta calls back Hariyama.
"Get some rest, Hariyama. You earned it," Greta said. She looked over to Medicham. "Your turn now, Medicham!"
"Cham," Medicham said, entering the battlefield.
"Sora's Monferno has overcome Hariyama and, Greta has sent out her Medicham. Sora's Monferno is at a disadvantage because it's a Fighting Type against a Psychic Type," Gabby announced.
"Monferno! Mach Punch!" Sora ordered.
"Medicham! Use Ice Punch!" Greta ordered. Medicham uses Ice Punch to block Monferno's Mach Punch.
"Both are evenly matched," Patamon said.
"Greta is right about one thing; Medicham is a Psychic Type Pokémon as well as a Fighting Type. So, Monferno's at a bad matchup," Terra said.
"Flamethrower!" Sora ordered.
"Medicham! Use Psychic!" Greta ordered. Medicham uses Psychic to block Flamethrower and sends it back at Monferno. "Now, use High Jump Kick!" Medicham jumped and then came down to land a kick onto Monferno.
"This is bad! Medicham will land a powerful kick with High Jump Kick," Terra said.
"But it'll hurt Medicham when it misses, right?" Ventus asked.
"It does, Ven. Let's hope it does," Terra said.
Unfortunately, Monferno did feel that kick. Monferno goes rolling on the side. Monferno gets back up on his feet.
"Finish it with Psychic!" Greta ordered. Medicham uses Psychic to lift Monferno up and slam him on his back, earning a knockout.
"Monferno is unable to battle! Medicham wins!" The referee announced. Sora calls back Monferno. "Get some rest, Monferno. You earned it." He turned to Alakazam. "Okay, Alakazam, this will be your very first battle with me. And I know you'll pull through for me."
"Kazam," Alakazam said.
"Okay! Go!" Sora said. Alakazam enters the battlefield.
"Medicham! Ice Punch!" Greta ordered. Medicham sends out Ice Punch to land a hit onto the psi Pokémon.
"Alakazam! Use your Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Alakazam uses Fire Punch and cancels out Medicham's Ice Punch. The both of them were evenly matched. "Use Shadow Ball!" Alakazam forms a ball of shadow from his two spoons and sends it right at Medicham.
"Dodge and use Psychic!" Greta ordered. Medicham avoids Alakazam's Shadow Ball and attempted proceeds with Psychic.
"Alakazam! You use Psychic, too!" Sora ordered. Alakazam uses Psychic to block Medicham's and like before they were evenly matched. Both have pushed each other back.
"Use Ice Punch!" Greta ordered.
"Fire Punch!" Sora ordered.
Medicham and Alakazam both landed a hit onto each other, causing heavy damage.
"Medicham! High Jump Kick!" Greta ordered. Medicham jumped and came down to deliever a High Jump Kick onto Alakazam.
"Use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Alakazam uses Psychic to stop Medicham while in the air. "Now, use Shadow Ball!" Alakazam fires Shadow Ball and it struck Medicham hard, dealing some heavy damage, due to its weakness to Ghost Type moves.
"Ice Punch!"Greta ordered.
"Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Both Alakazam and Medicham landed a punch onto each other again and they took some heavy damage. "Recover!" Alakazam healed himself from his injuries.
"Ice Punch!" Greta ordered. Medicham came at Alakazam with Ice Punch.
"Psychic!" Sora ordered. Alakazam uses Psychic to lift up Medicham in the air. Alakazam brings Medicham down on the ground. Medicham has been taken down.
"Medicham is unable to battle! Alakazam wins! The winner is Sora!" The referee announced. Greta approached Sora with a smile.
"That was a great battle, Sora. And I think you earned this," Greta said, taking out a Symbol for Sora. "Here is the Guts Symbol." Sora accepts the Symbol presented to him.
"Don't go away, ladies and gentlemen, our next battle will begin momentarily! And it is Sora against the Frontier Brain, the Dome Ace Tucker!" Gabby announced. Sora has sent over his Alakazam for Machamp. He decided maybe he would use Prinlup for this one as well.
"He's even better than I thought," Bertha said. "He has real potential."
"I can see why he's a Pokémon League Champion. He's no slouch in a battle," theold woman said.
"I told you he's just as good as my kid says, Argenta," Palmer said.
"What are your thoughts about him, Thorton?" Argenta asked.
"The way he battled is in no need for words," Thorton said.
"I agree," the butler said. "His skills are beyond words." He turned to the young woman. "Care for refreshments, Lady Caitlin?"
"No thank you, Darach," Caitlin responded.
"And now, our next battle is about to begin! We have Dome Ace Tucker versus Sora! Our referee will explain the rules before we begin!" Gabby announced.
"This battle will be a double battle! The battle shall be over when both of either trainer's Pokémon are unable to battle! We shall begin!" The referee announced.
"For this theme, shall be the battle of the elements! Come forth, my warriors of fire and water!" Tucker said, taking out his two Pokéballs and threw them. An Arcanine and Swampert both came out. "Your opponents shall be the fiery fleet-footed Arcanine, the Champion of Water and Earth, Swampert!" Sora took out his two Pokéballs and threw them.
"And your opponents are Machamp and Prinplup!" Sora called out. Machamp and Prinplup both came out to battle against Arcanine and Swampert. Stars swirls around Machamp upon entry.
"Prinplup is a good matcup since being a Water Type," Veemon said.
"Yeah, but that Swampert looks like a heavy bruiser," Barry said.
"Machamp! Use Superpower on Swampert! Prinlup! Use Drill Peck on Arcanine!" Sora ordered. Machamp and Prinplup ran towards their opponents to land a hit.
"Extreme Speed, like the wind! Go!" Tucker ordered. Arcanine ran at an incredible speed and lands a hit onto both of Prinplup and Machamp.
"Prinplup! Fire Bubble Beam at Arcanine!" Sora ordered. Prinplup fires Bubble Beam right at the legendary Pokémon.
"Go, my guardian of iron! Protect Arcanine!" Tucker ordered. Swampert jumped in front of Arcanine and used Protect around itself and Arcanine. Bubble Beam bounces right off.
"Your Machamp and Prinplup are impressive Pokémon, but you will have to do much better than that in this battle! Show me your power!" Tucker told his opponent.
"Oh, you'll see it! Machamp! Use Cross Chop on Arcanine. Machamp charges at Arcanine and crosses all four of his arms.
"I admire your courage, Sora! Arcanine! Use Aerial Ace!" Tucker ordered. Arcanine dashed right on Machamp, dealing some heavy damage.
"Aerial Ace is a Flying Type move," Patamon said.
"And that deals heavy damage to Machamp," Salamon said.
"Machamp! Use Bulk Up and then use Dynamic Punch on Arcanine!" Sora ordered. Machamp flexes his muscles and then comes at Arcanine to land a punch onto it.
"Arcanine, jump! Swampert, use Mud Bomb!" Tucker ordered. Arcanine jumps and fires Mud Bomb right at Machamp and deals some damage onto him.
"Machamp! Use Dynamic Punch! Prinplup! Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Prinplup fires Hydro Pump right at Arcanine.
"Water Pulse, Swampert!" Tucker ordered. Swampert forms Water Pulse and it collides with Hydro Pump and it lands a hit onto the penguin Pokémon. Prinplup gave out a loud cry and started to evolve. Everyone watching was amazed by the sudden evolution. Prinlup has evolved into an Empoleon.
"Prinplup evolved into an Empoleon!" Ventus said.
"Maybe so, but Prinplup's evolution is going to make a difference here," Scott said. Kairi, Aqua, and the female Digimon kept on cheering for Sora to take Tucker down.
"Your Prinplup may have evolved, but it will make no difference! And I am about to show you! Swampert! Water Pulse!" Tucker ordered. Swampert's tailfin glows orange and it gathers water vapor from the air above its tail. A geyser then fires from the water above Swampert's tailfin Empoleon and Machamp, sucking them up into a water tornado.
"Empoleon, Machamp!" Sora gasped.
"Too late! Arcanine! Use Fire Blast!" Tucker ordered. Arcanine fires Fire Blast and entraps them both.
"What the?!" Sora exclaimed.
"This is the foundation of my power! The bedrock of my craft! The bending of two opposing elements to achieve maximum damage! Fire! Water! Fusion!" Tucker said. The combo ceased and the two Pokémon fell to the ground.
"Man, Tucker is even more challenging than I thought. I better think of something or I'll this one. Let's see," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Fire Blast!" Tucker ordered.
"Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Empoleon fires Hydro Pump and it cancels out Fire Blast and created a fog of steam.
"It looks like it's going to be difficult for Tucker and his Pokémon to see their opponents!" Gabby announced.
"Machamp, Empoleon, move in!" Sora called out. The emperor Pokémon and the superpower Pokémon were moving through the steam.
"Using the fog to mask their whereabouts. How quaint," Tucker said.
"Empoleon! Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Empoleon fires Flash Cannon right right at Swampert and lands a hit. "Good! Now, use Dynamic Punch!" Machamp gave Arcanine a Dynamic Punch on the side. The fog had cleared. "Machamp! Bulk Up and then Superpower! Empoleon! Hydro Pump!" Machamp flexes and came at Swampert with Superpower, and Empoleon fires Hydro Pump right at Arcanine, knocking them both out. Tucker was stunned to see his two Pokémon be taken down at the same time.
"Arcanine and Swampert are both unable to battle! Machamp and Empoleon wins! Sora wins the battle!" The referee announced. The crowd has cheered as Tucker calls back his fallen Pokémon.
"Arcanine, Swampert, thank you both for your performance," Tucker said. He clapped his hands as he approached Sora.
"That was an excellent battle, Sora. I can see how you defeated Brandon. You have earned my respect," Tucker said.
"Thanks, Tucker. You earned my respect, too," Sora said. Tucker shook his hand and he presented him a gold Symbol.
"And as proof, I am proud to present you the Tactics Symbol," Tucker said. Sora accepted the Tactics Symbol.
"And there you have it! Sora has earned the Tactics Symbol from Tucker! And next is his batte against the next Frontier Brain, Pike Queen Lucy!" Gabby announced. Sora calls back his Empoleon and Machamp.
"Four Frontier Brains down, and two more to go!" Agumon said.
"Yes, but we saw how difficult it was. Sora took on a legendary Pokémon, while knowing it wasn't going to be easy," Scott said.
"He's right. Pike Queen Lucy will be a tough challenge," Terra said.
"Kairi, you met Lucay before. What kind of Pokémon does she specialize with?" Aqua asked.
"She has a Seviper and a Milotic, so she has to use serpine Pokémon," Kairi said.
In Myotismon's hideout, he was watching the series of battles.
"This is turning out entertaining," Myotismon said. Vorvomon flies in.
"Forgive me for my ingnorance, master, but why are we watching this?" Vorvomon asked.
"The purpose is to study our enemy. It is to suite a purpose after losing Etemon and Ogremon. And not to mention, Grumblemon and Ranamon has failed to dispose of them. And not only that, I have recently learned of AxeKnightmon has returned to the real world. Both him and the Resistance must be eliminated if I am to consolidate my power here in the real world," Myotismon said.
"I understand that, master. Should we go after them now?" Vorvomon asked.
"No, Vorvomon. Not yet. We shall watch more and see if he can live up to the promises of the humans. And once we have what we need, we shall kill him and his friends. And I shall use his death as an example to any human who would dare to defy me!" Myotismon said.
"And to those who has joined us, Sora has defeated Noland, Greta, and Tucker, and now, he is up against Pike Queen Lucy of the Battle Pike!" Gabby announced.
Three young women cheered hard for Lucy to win it. One of them is a young woman with blonde hair and she wore a white jacket and a red-orange crop top and pants with a white belt. Another young woman has red hair, a yellow crop top, and and orange pants. And the third has short green hair and wore black shirt and black jeans. She wore a purple belt which tilted to the right.
"Thrash him, Queen Lucy!" The blonde said.
"Take him down, Queen Lucy!" The other two both said. Lucy has approached as she has opened her eyes.
"Ooh, look at the babe!" One young man said.
"That babe is Pike Queen Lucy. Her skills are to be reckoned with," another young man said.
"Hey, who cares how good she is! She's hot! And I think I'm to ask her to make-out with me before we get down!" The first young man said, chuckling.
"Well, I say that you don't have a shot with her," the second young man scoffed. "And the only way you'll be getting down is when she gives you a kick in the nuts!"
"And now, the referee will be going over the rules of the battle," Gabby announced.
"This shall be a two-on-two battle! Like the battle between Sora and Greta, only Sora is allowed to make substitutions anytime! And the battle is over when both of either side's Pokémon are unable to continue battling! Now, choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee announced. Lucy took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Seviper, I choose you!" Lucy called out. Seviper has entered. Sora knew who to go with. He took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Gastrodon!" Sora called out. Gastrodon came on out to battle.
"Yes! Gastrodon against Seviper! This shall be a good matcup!" Ventus said.
"Right. Gastrodon is a Ground Type, so Seviper's Poison won't be able to do much damage," Terra said.
"Gastrodon! Fire Mud Bomb!" Sora ordered. Gastrodon fires Mud Bomb right at the fang snake Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Poison Tail!" Lucy ordered. Seviper avoids Gastrodon's Mud Bomb and lands a Poison Tail on the east sea slug Pokémon.
'Dodge and use Muddy Water!" Sora ordered. Gastrodon avoided Seviper's Poison Tail and fires Muddy Water right at Seviper.
"Flamethrower!" Lucy ordered. Seviper fires Flamethrower and it struck Gastrodon hard.
"You okay, Gastrodon?" Sora asked.
"Trodon!" Gastrodon said.
"Great! Now, use Body Slam!" Sora ordered. Gastrodon jumped to land a hit onto Seviper.
"Crunch!" Lucy ordered. Seviper comes at Gastrodon and landed a heavy bite onto the eastern sea slug Pokémon.
"Gastrodon! Mud Bomb!" Sora ordered. Gastrodon fires Mud Bomb and it lands a hit onto Seviper. "Now, use Body Slam!" Gastrodon jumps and comes and slammed into Seviper. "Now, use Ice Beam!" Gastrodon fires Ice Beam and it freezes Seviper.
"Thaw the ice with Flamethrower!" Lucy ordered. Seviper uses Flamethrower to thaw itself out. "Now, use Poison Tail!" Seviper comes at Gastrodon with Poison Tail.
"Dodge and use Body Slam!" Sora ordered. Gastrodon jumped and came down on Seviper with Body Slam and has earned a knockout.
"Seviper is unable to battle! Gastrodon wins!" The referee announced.
"Lucy's Seviper lost! Barbara, what is she going to do?" The redhead asked.
"She'll turn it around! My sister won't give up that easily!" Barbara said. Lucy calls her Seviper back. "Fight, Lucy!"
"And win!" The other two added. Lucy took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Milotic! You're up next!" Lucy called out. Milotic came on out to battle.
"Gastrodon! Muddy Water!" Sora ordered. Gastrodon fires Muddy Water right at Milotic.
"Hydro Pump, go!" Lucy ordered. Milotic fired Hydro Pump right at Gastrodon and landed a huge amount of damage. "Now, use Breaking Swipe!" Milotic swings its tail and gave the eastern sea slug Pokémon a smack and earned a knockout.
"Gastrodon is unable to battle! Milotic wins!" The referee announced.
"Queen Lucy rules!" Barbara and the other two cheered. Sora calls back Gastrodon and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Luxio!" Sora called out. Luxio came on out to battle. "Luxio! Use Thunder Fang!" Luxio jumped right at Milotic and landed an electrified bite into the tender Pokémon, resulting in a paralysis. "Now, use Charge Beam!" Luxio fires Charge Beam right at Milotic and lands a hit.
"Hydro Pump!" Lucy ordered. Milotic fires Hydro Pump right at Luxio, landing a hit. "Now, use Twister!" Milotic has let out a majestic cry and unleashed a tornado right at Luxio.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Luxio ran to avoid Twister, but the force of the tornado was too great to outrun, and Luxio ends up being sucked in. Luxio was taking some heavy damage.
"Hang in there, Luxio!" Sora called out.
"Don't hang in there, Luxio!" Barbara said.
Luxio roared as he fell onto the ground, but not beaten. Luxio gets back on his feet and growled.
"Charge Beam!" Sora ordered. Luxio fires Charge Beam right at Milotic again.
"Facade!" Lucy ordered. Milotic becomes surrounded in an orange aura that makes its body shine. It then tackles Luxio, causing heavy damage.
"What just happened?" Agumon asked.
"What was that move?" Gabumon asked.
"It's a move called Facade. Whenever a Pokémon is either paralyzed, poisoned, or burned, the power of Facade doubles, causing heavy damage," Terra said.
"Breaking Swipe!" Lucy ordered. Milotic smacked Luxio with its tail again. Luxio tumbles backwards and struggled to get back on his feet. Luxio gave off a loud roar as Luxio began to evolve. Everyone was stunned and ecstatic to see another evolution occur. The newly evolved Luxray gave out a mighty roar.
"Luxio evolved when he was feeling down! Now, he's fighting with a vengeance! Luxray! Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Luxray ran towards Miltotic with incredible speed. Lucy just smirked.
"Hydro Pump!" Lucy ordered. Milotic fires Hydro Pump right at Luxray again.
"Dodge!" Sora ordered. Luxray was much faster than he was as a Shinx and a Luxio, so he landed a hit onto Milotic. "Fire your Charge Beam!" Luxray unleashes a more powerful Charge Beam and it struck the tender Pokémon, causing tremendous damage. Milotic was down for the count.
"Milotic is unable to battle! Luxray wins! The victory goes to Sora!" The referee announced.
"Lucy lost!" Barbara cried. The crowd all cheered hard for Sora had won. Lucy calls back Milotic and approached Sora.
"Well done, Sora. I have am very impressed by your skills. So, here is the Luck Symbol for your victory," Lucy said, presenting him a gold symbol.
"And Sora has bested Pike Queen Lucy, and now next the challenge is against the Palace Maven of the Battle Palace, Spenser. Our next round shall begin as soon as both parties are prepared," Gabby announced.
With the battle with Lucy settled, Sora had to decide on which of his Pokémon were next. He exchanged Empoleon, Gastrodon, Machamp, and Luxray for Croagunk, Carkol, Mismagius, and Snover.
"Sora battled Spenser before, didn't he?" Meowth asked.
"He did. I wonder what kind of challnge he's going to give Sora," Kairi said. "And how Sora will take him down!"
"And now, we are down to our next battle! Sora will be battling Spenser of the Battle Palace! During the semi-finals of the Flute Cup, Sora and Spenser have previously battled each other and emerged victorious!Will the results be the same or will it be different? Just you wait and see! And now the referee will explain the rules for this match!" Gabby announced.
"The battle between Sora and Spenser is about to begin! Both trainers will be using three Pokémon each! During the match, Sora will be once again permitted to make substitutions! And the battle is over when all three of wither trainer's Pokémon are unable to continue! Now, choose and begin!" The referee announced. Spenser and Sora each took out a Pokéball and threw them.
"Go! Shiftry!" Spenser called out. His Shiftry came on out to battle.
"Go! Croagunk!" Sora called out. Croagunk came out to battle.
"Shiftry is at a disadvantage because Croagunk is a Poison and Fighting Type," Ventus said.
"You're right. Let's see how well it'll go," Barry said.
"Sora shall make the first move!" The referee announced.
"Croagunk! Brick Break!" Sora ordered. Croagunk started to come right at Shiftry to land a hit.
"Shiftry! Dodge and use Quick Attack!" Spenser ordered. Shiftry landed a hit onto Croagunk. "Now use Shadow Ball!" Shiftry forms Shadow Ball and sends right at the toxic mouth Pokémon.
"Croagunk! Use Revenge!" Sora ordered. Croagunk came at Shitry to land a hit.
"Double Team!" Spenser ordered. Shiftry made several images of itself to make it difficult for Croagunk. Croagunk stood around and inflated both of his sacs.
"That is an interesting Croagunk. What is going through its mind?' Spenser wondered.
"Croagunk must be trying to figure out where Shitry's movements," Sora said. Croagunk eventually figured out where Shiftry was. "Poison Jab!" Croagunk stood up and gave the real Shiftry a Poison Jab, causing the others to disappear.
"That is an intelligent Croagunk. I am impressed," Spenser said. "Shiftry1 Use Rock Smash!" Shiftry come at Croagunk with Rock Smash. Croagunk just stood there and took the hit.
"Croagunk! Revenge!" Sora ordered. Croagunk lands a hit with Revenge. "Now, fire Poison Sting!" Croagunk fires Poison Sting and Shiftry ends up being poisoned.
"Shiftry! Use Shadow Ball!" Spenser ordered. Shiftry fires Shadow Ball at the frog-like Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Poison Jab!" Sora ordered. Croagunk dodges Shadow Ball and came at the wily Pokémon and landed a Poison Jab. Shiftry has been taken down.
"Shiftry is unable to battle! Coragunk wins!" The referee announced.
"Way to go, Croagunk!" Sora praised the toxic mouth Pokémon. Croagunk inflates both his sacs as he began to evolve. Croagunk became a Toxicroak. Even as a Toxicroak, his throat sac inflates greatly. "Whoa, you evolved." Sora took out his Pokéball and calls Toxicroak back. Spenser calls back his Shiftry.
"You battled well, Shiftry. You deserve a good rest," Spenser said. He looked right at Sora as he took out his next Pokéball. "That was wonderful, Sora. You should be proud of your accomplishments. Go forth, Claydol!" He threw it and his Claydol came on out to battle. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go right in Snover!" Sora called out. Snover came on out and whips up a hailstorm.
"What's that?" Armadillomon asked.
"That's Snow Warning. It's an ability that Snover and Abomasnow both share in which summons a hailstorm. The hail does some damage to any other Pokémon except for Ice Type Pokémon," Aqua said.
"Claydol! Use Sandstorm!" Spenser ordered. Claydol whips up a Sandstorm and it cancels out the hailstorm.
"That'll be a huge problem for Snover since his ability is canceled out," Tentomon said.
"That means, Snover will be taking a hit from Sandstorm," Tentomon said.
"Now, use Rapid Spin!" Spenser ordered. Claydol spun around to land a hit onto Snover.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Snover ran to avoid Claydol's Rapid Spin and landed a hit with Rapid Spin. "Snover!"
"Fire Hyper Beam!" Spenser ordered. Claydol fires Hyper Beam at Snover.
"Dodge it, Snover!" Sora ordered. Snover avoids Claydol's Hyper Beam just by running, while getting pelted by the Sandstorm. It has subsided, so that means Snover wasn't going to get hit by Sandstorm. "Snover! Ice Punch!" Snover jumped to land an icy punch onto the clay doll Pokémon. Snover successfully landed a hit. "Now, use Frost Breath!" Snover unleashes an icy breath onto Claydol, scoring a critical hit. "Now use Ice Shard!" Snover unleashes Ice Shard and pelted lots of hits onto Claydol, resulting in a knockout.
"Claydol is unable to battle! Snover wins!" The referee announced. Sora and Snover hi-five each other. Spenser calls back his Claydol with a smile.
"Impressive, Sora. You have matured since our last battle. But so have I," Spenser said, taking out his third Pokéball. "Go! Venusaur!" He threw it and Venusaur has come out to battle.
"I knew he was saving Venusaur for last," Kairi said.
"Right, he used Venusaur in the Flute Cup," Ventus pointed out.
"Snover! Forst Breath!" Sora ordered. Snover fires Frost Breath to land a hit onto Venusaur.
"Dodge and use Sweet Scent!" Spenser ordered. Venusaur. avoids Sweet Scen and unleashes Sweet Scent, captivating Snover. "Now, use Vine Whip!" Venusaur grabs Snover and slammed him on the ground, beating him.
"Snover is unable to battle! Venusaur wins!" Sora calls back Snover and takes out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Carkol!" Sora called out. Carkol came on out. "Use Flame Charge!" Carkol came at Venusaur with Flame Charge.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Spenser ordered. Venusaur unleashes Razor Leaf and it struck Carkol hard. Carkol started to evolve and become a Coalossal.
"Another evolution! And a new move! Coalossal! Use Tar Shot!" Coalossal spits out tar right into Venusaur's face.
"Tar Shot?" Barry asked.
"Tar Shot is a move that Coalossal can use. When it hits, the Pokémon not only slows down, but it also becomes vulnerable to fire," Kairi said.
"Venusaur is already weak to fire," Gomamon pointed out.
"With all that tar on his face, it's going to be even hotter," Kairi said.
"Now, use Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Coalossal came at Venusaur and lands a burning punch onto Venusaur, causing some heavy damage.
"Impressive. But not enough. Venusaur! Vine Whip!" Spenser ordered. Venusaur grabs Coalossal with Vine Whip and gave him a throw. "Now, use Solar Beam!" Venusaur was charging up energy.
"Coalossal! Use Heat Crash!" Sora ordered. Coalossal jumps and heads on down to land a hit onto Venusaur. Venusaur fires Solar Beam too quick for Coalossal and went down for the count.
"Coalossal is unable to battle! Venusaur wins!" The referee announced. Sora calls back Coalossal and took out Toxicroak's Pokéball and threw it.
"Toxicroak! Back to action!" Toxicroak comes back out to battle. Toxicroak just sat there, same as he was a Croagunk. Sora knew Toxicroak has to be expecting Venusaur to make his move.
"Venusaur! Vine Whip!" Spenser ordered. Venusaur sends out Vine Whip to smack Toxicroak. Toxicroak grabs the vines, much to everyone's surprise.
"Give Venusaur a whirl!" Sora called out. Toxicroak spins Vensaur around and gave him a toss. "Now, use Poison Jab!"
"Razor Leaf!" Spenser ordered. Venusaur fires Razor Leaf and gave Toxicroak a series of Razor Leaf. Toxicroak took the hits from the leaves and lands a strong jab with Poison Jab. "Now, use Revenge!" Toxicroak gave Venusaur the finishing blow with Revenge, resulting in a knockout.
"Venusaur is unable to battle! Toxicroak wins! Sora is the winner!" The referee announced.
"And there you have it! Sora has bested five more of the Hoenn Frontier Brains and now, it is Anabel who is left to contend with!" Gabby announced. Spenser smiled and calls back his Venusaur and went up to Sora.
"Well done, Sora. You have done well. And now, I shall reward you with the Spirits Symbol," Spenser said, presenting Sora his sixth gold symbol.
"Thank you, Spenser," Sora said.
With that said, Sora knew it was a rematch with Anabel. Sora knew he might not find it easy with Anabel, but he knew he has to try his best. Before the battle was about to officially begin, he exchanged Toxicroak, Coalossal, and Snover, for Pikachu's Pokéball, as well as Empoleon, and Umbreon since he was going to need Dark and Ghost Type Pokémon against her Psychic Types.
"And here we are! We have the final match of this glorious event! It is Sora and Anabel! History repeats itself as Sora and Anabel have both battled each other in the finals of the Flute Cup! But will she conquer Sora again? We shall see!" Gabby announced.
"Here is the final battle! The battle between Sora Ketchum and the Battle Frontier's Salon Maiden Anabel! Both trainers will both be using three Pokémon each! And the battle shall be over when all three of either trainer's Pokémon are unable to continue battling! Now, choose and begin!" The referee announced. Sora and Anabel each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! My friend!" Anabel called out. Out first is her Alakazam. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Mismagius!" Sora called out. When Mismagius came on out, stars swirls around the magical Pokémon upon entry.
"A Ghost Type is a good choice to use against Alakazam!" Biyomon said.
"But that Alakazam looks tough enough," Terra said.
"Sora has the first move!" The referee announced.
"Mismagius! Mystical Fire!" Sora ordered. Mismagius whips up a flame and sends it right at Alakazam.
"Use Psychic to block!" Anabel ordered through telepathy. Alakazam uses Psychic to move the flames back at Mismagius.
"Mismagius! Block with your own Psychic!" Sora ordered. Mismagius blocked his own attack with Psychic and sent it back with much speed and power. Mismagius lands a heavy hit. "Now, use Shadow Ball!" Mismagius forms a ball of shadow and sent it right at Alakazam. It lands a hit onto her. "Shadow Ball again!" Mismagius sends out Shadow Ball and it lands a hit. Alakazam stood back up.
"Use Recover," Anabel ordered through telepathy. Alakazam heals herself of her injuries.
"Why isn't Anabel telling Alakazam anything?" Patamon asked.
"She is. Anabel has the ability to speak with Pokémon through telepathy. She was born with that ability," Scott said.
"Phantom Force!" Sora ordered. Mismagius vanished into a vortex. Alakazam looked around for Mismagius. The shiny magical Pokémon came out and landed a hit. "Now, use Shadow Ball!" Mismagius sends out Shadow Ball and deals with much heavier damage.
"Recover!" Anabel ordered through telepathy.
"Mystical Fire!" Sora ordered. Mismagius sends out Magical Fire and lands a heavy hit. "Now, use Psychic!" Mismagius lifts up Alakazam and slams her to the ground.
"Alakazam is unable to battle! Mismagius wins!" The referee announced. Anabel calls back her Alakazam and she took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! My friend!" Anabel called out. Out came her Metagross. "Metoer Mash!" Anabel ordered through telepathy. Metagross comes at Mismagius and lands a heavy blow. "Metagross, your Hyper Beam will have zero effect on Mismagius, but your other moves will just fine." Metagross understood and nodded. "Use Iron Defense as soon as he attacks." Metagross nodded.
"Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered. Mismagius forms a ball of shadow and sends it right at Metagross. And right on cue, Metagross uses Iron Defense to block out Shadow Ball.
"Iron Defense bounced Shadow Ball right off!" Meowth said.
"Yes, but there's still Mystical Fire," Ventus said.
"Mystical Fire!" Sora ordered. Mismagius sends out Mystical Fire and it struck Metagross on the spot. "Now, use Phantom Force!" Mismagius vanishes again and it catches Metagross off balance. Metagross looked around for Mismagius, but Mismagius lands a hit onto Metagross. "Mystical Fire again!" Mismagius sends out his fire attack and struck Metagross on the mark, earning a knockout.
"Metagross is unable to battle! Mismagius wins!" The referee announced. Anabel calls Metagross back. Anabel was now down to one Pokémon left. She took out one more Pokéball and threw it. "Go! My friend!" And out came her Espeon.
"Mismagius! Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered. Mismagius forms Shadow Ball and threw it right at Espeon. Epseon dodges Mismagius's attack.
"Zap Cannon!" Anabel ordered with telepathy. Espeon unleashes Zap Cannon and Mismagius became paralyzed when the attack has hit. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Espeon jumped and smacked Mismagius with Iron Tail. "Psychic!" Espeon uses Pychic and slams Mismagius down on the ground, beaten.
"Mismagius is unable to battle! Espeon wins!" The referee announced. Sora calls back Mismagius.
"Get some rest, Mismagius. You battled good," Sora said. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go right in, Umbreon!" Umbreon came on out to battle.
"Espeon, you know your Psychic won't work on Umbreon. Your other moves will do. Use Quick Attack!" Anabel ordered through telepathy. Espeon ran towards Umbreon with Quick Attack.
"Dodge and use Snarl!" Sora ordered. Umbreon unleashed Snarl right at Espeon and it landed a heavy hit. "Now, use Feint Attack!" Umbreon dashed right towards Espeon and briefly vanished before Umbreon landed a hit onto the sun Pokémon.
"Iron Tail!" Anabel ordered through telepathy. Espeon swings its tail at Umbreon, landing a hit. "Zap Cannon!" Espeon fires Zap Cannon right at the moonlight Pokémon, landing a paralyzing hit. Umbreon passed on his paralysis to his opponent."Quick Attack!" The sun Pokémon dashed right at Umbreon and lands some hits onto Umbreon. "Iron Tail!" Espeon lands a critical blow onto Umbreon, resulting in a knockout.
"Umbreon is unable to battle! Espeon wins!" The referee announced. Sora looked over to Pikachu.
"You okay to go in, Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded.
"Then, go for it," Sora said. Pikachu went right in to battle. "Pikachu, you started this thing, and you'll be the one to finish it."
"Chu," Pikachu nodded.
"This is what you wanted. A rematch with Pikachu. Let's give it everything we got, Espeon," Anabel said through her telepathy. Espeon nodded. "Zap Cannon!" Epseon fires Zap Cannon right at Pikachu. The mouse Pokémon avoids Zap Cannon.
"Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu swings his tail around to land a hit. Espeon couldn't move so fast, due to its paralysis. Iron Tail lands a successful hit. "Volt Tackle!" Pikachu charges right at Espeon and lands a hit onto Espeon hard. Espeon has suffered damage recoil from Volt Tackle. Espeon struggled to get back up, but fell back on the ground.
"Espeon is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! Sora wins the battle!" The referee announced. The crowd goes wild as Sora has now defeated all of the Frontier Brains of Hoenn.
"And This makes six in a row after defeating Brandon! This is a momentous day for us all!" Gabby announced.
Everywhere, Sora and Kairi's friends and families were astounded by how much stronger has gotten.
"Wow, that was amazing. He's even stronger than you said, Takato," Takato's mom said.
"He's even stronger than he was when he battled Giovanni," Takato said.
Anabel walked up to Sora with a smile. She shook his hand.
"Congratulations, Sora. You really have gotten so much stronger since our first battle, and from the day we met. And you too, Pikachu," Anabel said.
"Thanks, Anabel. I enjoyed our battle," Sora said.
"We all did," Anabel said. She took out the last gold symbol and gave it to Sora. "And here it is. The Ability Symbol. With that, you have earned all seven Battle Frontier Symbols." Sora accepted his Symbol with a smile.
"Thanks, Anabel," Sora said.
"Also, I wanted to say, Kairi's lucky to have you as a boyfriend. And the same can be said for Angel, Pikachu," Anabel said.
Sora has earned all seven Frontier Symbols. Sora has been shot with photos to immortalize this moment. Sora has given some autographs to some fans and he was in selfies with some of his female fans. All of the younger kids were pumped up and inspired greatly by Sora, knowing they wanna be Pokémon trainers like him. Delia was very proud of her son, knowing how proud her late husband was going to be.
Sora's friends and families weren't the only people who were watching. PHOP and Team Shadow were also watching. PHOP were even more impressed by his skills. Team Shadow also has discovered a new threat to their goals for world domination.
With the challenge met, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon all took their leave and continued on their way. And the journey continues.
