Chapter 415 Sans's Tales

The Gravity Falls explorers, their guardians, and their three tagalongs Six, Hornet, and Ser Manuel followed Sans through a tunnel to the next part of the Underground.
"So can you tell us about the children that ended up in the Underground and got killed?" Asked Dipper.
"I know their names, but I only interacted with two of them directly and the rest I just heard about from other monsters." Said Sans.
"Well tell us what you can." Said Mabel.
"Alright here's what I know. The six kids came from the same universe that we monsters came from. The first was a young girl named Suzy, she didn't get too far into the Underground and was killed near Toriel's house by a group of scavenger monsters. The next one to come down was a boy named Ken, he was trained in a special form of kung fu and was the descendant of a group of warriors that helped fought and banished the monsters to Mt. Ebott. Ken had come to the Underground to prove his fighting abilities and to slay monsters he believed that were evil and their very existence threatened the world. He fought and defeated several monsters in the ruins and Snowdin, until he encountered me...and we fought. It was a tough...fight...and I won. I...killed Ken." Said Sans looking guilty at the ground.
The explorers and their guardians looked at Sans in shock. Ford and Stan grabbed Mabel and Dipper away from Sans and close to them. Sans continued to speak.
"It weighs heavily on my bones and I swore to never harm a human unless they were seriously a threat to everyone in the Underground. Cross my rib cage."
"What about the other children?" Asked Wendy.
"Well there was this ballerina named Emily, who managed to make it all the way past Snowdin and into Waterfall, where she was killed by the leader of the Royal Guards, Undyne. Then there was this really smart kid named Kelly, she really wanted to help the monsters. Kelly made it past the ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall, and into Hotland to the lab of my brother the Royal Scientist." Said Sans.
"Wait Gaster the Royal Scientist is your brother?" Asked Dipper.
"He was and I was one of his assistants." Said Sans.
"What do you mean by was?" Asked Ford.
"Well when Kelly arrived at the lab, we put our heads together to try and figure out a solution to the barrier and monster human relationships. We spent weeks brainstorming, until one day we came up with a solution. Time travel!" Said Sans.
"Time travel?" Asked Ford with interest.
"Yeah time travel. We spent months building a time machine and several more testing it out to make sure it properly worked. After several tests we thought we had everything set and we prepared to go back in time and prevent the war between the monsters and humans from ever happening. I really thought everything was going to change, but then things went horribly wrong. The time machine went completely haywire and exploded killing Kelly! My brother was absolutely devastated and he threw himself back into his work trying to figure out what went wrong. Gaster started to go a bit looney and kept insisting that some invisible force sabotaged and that it was responsible for the barrier in this universe. He managed to build another time machine, but he was weary about it. One day I came back to lab from a grocery run to find the time machine blown to bits and my brother to nowhere in sight. I also discovered that a magical item that my brother had been studying called the Demon Crown was missing. Best I can figure is someone broke into the lab, while my brother was working in the time machine, the intruder then stole the Demon Crown and used it's powers to attack the time machine and made it exploded." Said Sans.
The explorers and their guardians exchanged looks. It sounded like the Doctor was the one most likely behind Gaster's death since he had the Demon Crown.
"You know about a guy called the Doctor?" Asked Finn.
"I've heard of him and I know he has the Demon Crown. I figured his the one who killed my brother, though I can't be too sure unless I lay my eyes on him and get some answers out of him. Not many people in the Underground have seen the Doctor in person and no one knows where his hideout is in Hotland. I need to find him and avenge my brother." Said Sans.
"Well we promised Jenka, we'd find the Doctor and put an end to his plans, so it looks like we're in this together." Said Finn.
"I'm down with that." Said Sans.
"So what can you tell us about the last two kids that fell down into the Underground?" Asked Wendy.
"Well there was this boy named Hugo, who was a really good cook. Hugo's cooking was legendary in the Underground and just about everyone loved him and his cooking skills. He ended up going on tv with Mettaton, who ended up killing him out of jealousy due to his popularity." Said Sans.
"Yikes." Said Pacifica.
"The last to arrive was a teenage girl named Jess. She was training as park ranger and had come down to the Underground to try and rescue the other children or at the very least retrieve the bodies to give them to the families to give them some closure. Jess made it all the way to Hotland armed with a pistol and fought Undyne to a standstill. According to Undyne, Jess was one of the toughest people she ever fought and after a few hours of fighting each other they called a timeout to rest and talk. The two ended up greatly respecting each other and things might have ended peacefully if the Gunslinger Lich hadn't suddenly shown up, killed Jess, and left the scene." Said Sans.
"That creep sounds about as cold blooded and heartless as our Lich." Said Finn.
"What happened to the children after they were all killed?" Asked Dipper.
"Their souls were placed in special contains to be used once Asgore obtained seven human souls and the bodies were placed in freezing metal pods to be preserved. I guess Asgore wants to try and bring the humans back to life after the barrier is taken down. The bodies and souls are in Asgore's home located in New Home the Capitol of the Underground." Said Sans.
"Looks like another place we need to go to." Said Gata.
"Seems like we have a ton of problems and challenges to deal with." Said Finn.
"Well here comes our first stop. Snowdin." Said Sans.
The group exited the tunnel and entered the snowy wonderland of Snowdin.
