He watched her.
Lips trembling. Body shaking as her warmth leeched from her.
"Your lips are turning blue."
"Then we should hurry."
Sighing, he knew she was right, but his concern didn't subside. What if there was no way out at the bottom? No air for her to breathe?
She'd surely die.
"Wait here, I'll go first."
No sooner had the words left his lips that the earth around them began to tremble, rocks falling down from above them.
"New plan! We both go!" Kagome yelled over the rumbling.
He cursed under his breath, damning their circumstances.
Together, they descended.
